i am new to HRMS tables.
i have to create employee report temporary table, columns are given below.
Gender code
Gender Description
Grade code
Grade Description
Country name
Nationality
from which tables i can find these columns.i need employee tables names where i can find these columns.

there is no table with name per_all_populate_f
I guess you are referring to per_all_people_f
for grades the table are per_valid_grades
for positions hr_all_positions_f,per_position_definitions

Selecting date column from a table

I have a problem that looks wierd for me.
I have a table called blog_post which has a date field called publish_date
I have done this first.
alter session set nls_date_format='dd/mm/yyyy';
then
SQL> select publish_date from blog_post;
PUBLISH_DA
09/07/2007
02/07/2007
02/07/2007
02/07/2007
09/07/2007
now the wierd thing is that when i am selectin the same date it is not returning anything
SQL> select publish_date from blog_post where publish_date='09/07/2007';
no rows selected

I don't know anything about Hibernate, but the reason why you need to specify the trunc(publish_date) = to_date('09/07/2007','dd/mm/yyyy') is because of the way that Oracle stores date/time internally.
It's labelled as a date field, but the time is automatically stored as well. So, if you're just wanting to compare the date to another date, you need to ignore the time part of the column - the trunc function does this.
As for the "to_date(<date>, <date mask>)", well, you want to compare a date to a date, not a string. You could rely on the implicit conversion, governed by the nls settings, but I really, really, really wouldn't. In fact, I can't stress enough how much of a bad idea that would be! It's best to make things explicit.

Creating Time Dimension from date columns in fact tables.

I remember watching a demo from a BI Tool a couple years ago, wich I swear was OBIEE, and the presentator stated it was possible to create a Time Dimension in the admin tool, based on a date column in other table.
Can you guys tell me if there's such functionality in OBIEE?
If so, how could I achieve that?!

Fact table has some dim columns??
We can do this by making a fact table as dim table ,create a dim hierarchy on that table
Year level :Extract(year from fact_date_column)
Month and year level:CAST (Extract(month from fact_date_column) As CHAR(5) ) || CAST (Extract(yearfrom fact_date_column) As CHAR(5) )

But,be careful while doing this make sure that all joins and content levels are good

Update data provider queryspecification wiith columns from multiple tables

I have scenario like I need updated a queryspecificaiton with columns from multiple tables
1. Ex:

A$Application_ID is from Table A and A$Column_Name from table B
The query is not adding to dataprovier when I am trying to updated from REST API.

Delete a column from the table

Hi.
I would like to delete a column from a table. I want to drop the table and recreate it later. But this table has a primary key which
is a foreign key of other tables. So after I recreate the table I must recover the relationship of this table and other tables.
How do I get the information about the primary key of this table as a foreign key of other tables from data dictionary?

For ur query the reply whay u have got is correct one. For further quries similar to one u had u can download a tool named TOAD (Tools for Oracle Application Developer) from quest site (www.quest.com). Install it a proceed.

Data fetching from Standard tables or transaction to SAP PI

Dear Friends !
Good day ! How are you ?
I have one requirement , My client asks me to develop a solution in that I should get the data from standard SAP tables like EKKO, EKPO ( MM related ) etc.. and send it to PI system and then PI system sends it to third party system database system.
We have current scenario is working fine, I have abap proxy that I called in various standard transaction codes ( MIRO, MIGO, etc ) ' Baddis just beforethe commit stament and it passed the data to SAP PI system and it sends to SQL system.
but my client dont want me to use Baddis. Client wants like u should read from those EKKO,EKPO tables as soon as you get new entry there and send it to PI system. I have no clue How can I go further in that. Shall I use events ? but then question is same I need to trgger them somewere? Is any one have idea How I can send the data to PI system frm SAP standard tcodes and tables without using Baddis.
Please reply me. your any help will be appreciated.

The current Approach of your development perfectly good approach,
it is not possbiel to read data directly from SAP Tables, you have to use IDoc/RFC/Proxy,if you want to avoid BADI's then better to contact ABAP Team, they will help you different approches .
But you have to use Porxy/IDoc/BAPI for sure.

I am new in Oracle EBS, currently i am creating value set whose data come from customize table which have 40 duplicate record in which distinct column return 27 record .
Table XX_ROUND_SET
Columns (Transactions_id,set_record)
Total Record (40)
Distinct Record (Set_Record --> 27)
I just want to show only 27 record in it.

PL.IGNORE MY EARLIER UPDATE AND TREAT THIS UPDATE AS YOUR SOLUTION.
Method 1
Create the VIEW based on DISTINCT values; use the VIEW for creates the VALUESET.
Method 2
Paste the QUERY in TABLE field with alias name, and give the column name (with alias name).
(in your case )
TABLE NAME : ( select distinct transactions_id, set_record from XX_ROUND_SET ) Y
VALUE : Y.transactions_id

Columns from different tables displayed in an ADF table format

I have a many to one relationship between 2 tables (checklist -> subcontract). I would like to display columns from each table on a web page in an ADF Read Only Table format. I created a method that returns the data I need from the tables. When I drag that method over to my page JDev I'm only allowed to select columns from either the checklist table OR the subcontract table. I need one column from the subcontract table and several columns from the checklist table. I'm using JDev 10.1.3.2 and an Oracle 11g database. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your response. I ended up creating a new getter in the Checklist table which refers to the column in the Subcontract table. Then I was able to create a table column for that returned value.

Data fetching from BSEG table

Hi,
I have used smartforms for generating suppler payment statement for financial department. more time duration is taken by the program when it is generating.
I think this problem comes while data fetching from BSEG table. because, it has more records for one vendor ID.
I want reduce this time duration.
Please guide me.

Have you tried this selection in se16? I'm quite sure that It will take
a long time.
The problem has been explained in this group before and I think you
should search for bseg in the answers given.
As a hint: It has to do with the selection universe. You are restricting
only bukrs from the primary key (all the other restrictions in your
where clause are filters that are applied on SAP's side (not on the
database side)). The problem is that bseg isn't stored as separated
fields in the RDBMS, but as a table with the primary key and a stream of
bits in a raw field.
You should review and change the logic you're using before reading bseg.
It's the only way you'll improve the performance of this select. (for
example, you could use one or more secondary index tables - bi or ba
to retrieve belnr and access bseg with a better where clause).

please use 'INTO TABLE' instead of ' INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE '. and use ' FOR ALL ENTRIES '............based on relavence ....coz when I set break point over the select queries it took me long time to execute .......
becoz u didnt used the for all entries in select query ............ u r read statement

it is reading wrong kunnr value .............even it took long time to execute ......
use sort where ever required...
use for all entries .......and check weather the table initial or not......
use sy-subrc check where ever reqired ..............

Including column from fact table reduces number of rows returned

Hello
I am facing this issue where in a report I select 5 columns from a fact table. Out of these five columns one of the column is "Amount" for which the aggregation rule is defined as Sum in RPD.
When I include these five column and filter results based on some criterion , I get all the rows (three rows) that satisfy the criterion. No I add a sixth column to my report and suddenly I only see one row returned by my report. Addition of this sixth column does not affect the criterion as the criterion is not based on this column. But this sixth column is a calculated column.
I tried different things but because the report was just getting columns from one table (fact) and suddenly inclusion of one column leads to reduction in number of rows , I was unable to find any reason why would that happen.
So I thought that some one in community may know that in what scenario this happens.

Are there any repeated values? I'm wondering if what you're seeing is actually suppression of repetition in the results. Edit the analysis, go to the criteria tab, click column properties, go to the Column Format tab, and change the setting for value suppression from 'Suppress" to "Repeat". Repeat for each of your 6 columns and check the outcome.
Otherwise, I would try testing with other calculations and also bring in some columns from dimension tables to see how this affects the result. You should be able to come up with a case-by-case scenario to work out exactly what causes the rows to be suppressed which will get us one step to closer to working out why the rows get suppressed.

In the Properties Palate

TextField1_text I have selected use Value option and I have manually Keyed-in null;
In the JSP Page, I have manually keyed in the null value below said
