Empty Dashboard Graphs in IDM

I am trying to add a Dashboard graph. I have set the registry for a new graph to point to live data (not the sample stuff), and saved the graph. But when I add the graph to a dashboard, it is always blank (empty). I have verified that the system is still provisioning accounts, in fact I created a graph, and left it for a day to see if maybe the graph needed to be created first before it began to keep track of the events. But this made little difference.
My question is has anyone successfully configured a dashboard graph in IDM? If so, was there some additional configuration setting that needed to be tweaked in order to get the graph to start keeping track of data?

how can i configure dashboard graphs...
When i try i see no data ....
Do i have to do any prep before creating graphs ?
any configurations / setup?

Can you please advise me on how can i resolve the following errors in my dashboard(Graphs)
I had a dashboard report with 7 different graphs,These graphs(web items) are data bided (WAD) with
2 queries and 5 views generated on those 2 queries.
    Issue 1
There is a user entry variable on Cal Year/Month in those 2 queries and when i execute 2 queries it prompts me to entry cal month/year.....But that variable is not displaying when i execute views or dashboard report.
    Issue2
When i execute the query it is showing me latest avaliable data...where a views are not displaying latest available data...do i need to make any setting in the view to auto refresh
    Issue3
Currently my dashboard report doesn't had any user entry variable screen...but my requirment is to have a user entry screen...what is the web item i have to use and
As i mentioned i had 2 diff reports in the same dash or template...both having same selection variables....ex: Cal year/Month
How can i map the same web item to 2 queries
    Thanks in advance

In your template there will be a checkbox for "Force Variable Screen " use this to force variable entry

There is no web item for user entry for variales as I know it - you will have to use the variable screen of the queries for the same.
How can i map the same web item to 2 queries
Use the same data provider for both web items so that they can use the same query.

  • IDM Dashboard Graphs

I know IDM allows creating custom reports where the data comes from other resources such as a database. Does anybody know if it's possible to create custom graphs using data that's coming from resources outside the IDM repository? Such as Access Manger.

  • How to add a Report in empty dahboard?

There is an end user, when ever he login he is able to see empty dashboard, but the requirement is he has to see some report other than empty page. How to acheieve this?

    Hi,
In this requirement we have two methods,
    Method1:
if it's defaul for all users then set it each user wise by default dashboard page
Goto to My Account link and then change the preference
Method 2: user/group wise setting default home page dashboard
    Method : 2
    1. Created a session init block
    2. Used data source as select '/shared/SH Test/_portal/Test1' from dual
    3. Assigned this value to PORTALPATH session variable
    4. In Presentation services > Administration > My account > Default dashboard should be set to 'default'. Then only the dashboard specified in init block will be displayed otherwise My account will override the init block.
    5. Save the changes made to rpd.
    5. Logout and relogin to see if it is working fine. it is working perfectly fine.
if you like to have user/group based home page.
    1. They may need to have 2 separate tables.
    i. Group_path_tab with 2 columns. Group_id, portal_path
Have group wise portal path for all the groups
    ii. User-group map table
    Group_id, Group_name, user_id
User should be part of some group.
    2. Then in the init block write the sql should be something like this
    select A.portal_path from Group_path_tab A, User_group_map B
    where B.user_id = :USER
    and B.Group_id = A.Group_id
So based on USER session variable, it will try to identify the group and then the portal_path.
Finally assign this value to PORTALPATH session variable.

  • How to Personalize Your Dashboard

    Post Author: rnagahori
    CA Forum: Nsite
    Personalizing Your Dashboard
The first time you select an
application, an empty dashboard will appear with a "Dashboard
Personalization" link of the application's main page.  Follow these steps to
    build your first personalized dashboard:
    Click the Dashboard
Personalization link to begin building your dashboard.  You will be
taken to the Dashboard Layout screen.
    Select a layout in the
Dashboard Layout field. You can choose a one-, two-, or three-column
    format.
Select the reported data you would like to see appear in each row
    of the dashboard.
    Click Save. Nsite
will then take you to your newly created dashboard.
    Note: You can also
add a row, delete a row, or cancel this procedure in the Dashboard Layout
screen. At any time, you can also click Dashboard Personalization from the home
    page to modify your layout.

Not sure I understand exactly what you mean? If you don't want to use Dashboard, don't launch it. If it is open, hit the arrow on the right bottom and it will disappear.

  • Dashboard show no data

    Hi,
I implements OBI Apps on oracle EBS R12. My etc in dac run successfully . i chose only 2 subject area one for GL and other is for Payables .
But mostly dashboard do not show any data.
In GL Dashboards only last two dashboard Trial balance and GL Balances show correct data. Similarly in Payables only 1 dashboard ALL transaction show data .
How can i now track why dashboard do not show any data.
    Regards,
    Suhaib

    Hi Suhaib
I can suggest you enable logging on your user in the admin tool. Then use manage sessions to get the log of the query issued for an empty dashboard. Next copy the sql across to a sql client and investigate whether the tables it is querying have data in them.
If the tables it is querying do not have data you can use the dac to find out which tasks populate those tables and include those in your next etl run.
If all the tables have data then check what is eliminating the return of data from the sql statement, it might be config of the csv's for financials that needs to be revisited...

  • Could not overwrite rtf file on report template in BI Publisher

    Hi,
it seems, sometimes everyone would like to draw a vertical reference line at the data date of a line chart, so I would like to bring this thread up again.
I assume, that there is no vertical reference line on line, bar or area charts, because of the following reason: The vertical reference line is made for X1Axis; that's why it's called X1ReferenceLine. Line, bar and area charts don't have any X1Axis, but a O1Axis (ordinal axis):
    from Graph.dtd: "
<!-- Ordinal axis on bar, line, area graphs-->
    <!ELEMENT O1Axis EMPTY >
<!-- Horizontal data axis on bubble and scatter graphs; center point in
         polar graph-->
    <!ELEMENT X1Axis (ViewFormat?) >
There is no such thing as <!ELEMENT O1ReferenceLine EMPTY > in Graph.dtd.
Is there any other solution, why it seems not to be possible, to draw a vertical reference line on line charts?
    Kind regards,
    Tobias
ps: Regarding the difference between X-Axis and ordinal axis, I take the explanation from http://goorman.free.fr/ZedGraph/zedgraph.org/wiki/index1240.html?title=What_does_%27Ordinal%27_mean%3F .

  • Best Practice for creating Excel report from SSIS.

I have a requirement to create an Excel report on a daily basis which pulls data from SQL. I have attempted to resolve this by creating a stored procedure to save the results in SQL, a template in Excel to hold the graphs & pivot tables and an SSIS package
to copy the data to the template.
Problem 1: When the data turns up in Excel it is saved as text rather than numbers.
Problem 2: When the data turns up in Excel it appends the data rather than overwriting it.
I resolved problem 1 by having another sheet which converts the text to numbers (=int(sheet1!A1))
I resolved problem 2 by adding some VB script to my SSIS package which clears the existing cells before copying the data
The job runs fine, however when I schedule the job to run overnight it complains "System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID". A little googling tells me that running the client side commands in
my vb script (workSheet1.Range("A2:F9999").Clear(), workBook.Save(), workBook.Close() etc) from a server side task is bad practice.
So, I am left wondering how people usually get around this problem; copy a SQL table into an existing Excel file and overwrite the data, without having the numbers turn up as text. My requirements are that the report must display pivot charts with selectable
options and be automatically updated overnight.
    Help appreciated,
    Bish.
Office 2013 on my PC, Office 2010 on the server, Windows Server 2008R2 Enterprise, SQL Server 2008R2.

I think that the best practice in case like this is to Link an excel file to a view or directly to a table. So you don't have to struggle with changing template, with overnight packages, etc. If the data are too much complex and the desiderate too excessive
then I tend to create a Cube and that's it...dashboard, graph and everyone is happy. In your case if the request is not too much try to don't use SSIS but directly build a view and point directly on SQL.
SSIS is really strong for the ETL, to run some stored procedure too heavy, to use a cut time scheduled, etcetera , etcetera, etcetera...I love it. But sometimes we need to find the easier solutions...
I hope this post helped you

  • Only mirroring when connecting to TV screen?

    Hi,
I have a Samsung TV and connected it to my MacBook Pro via MDP-to-HDMI adaptor. I set it up following the TV manual, but I can only get a space without the dock or anything. Just a desktop picture, (the Mac "Galaxy' - ironic... ) and an empty dashboard. When I go to System Prefs on my Mac it also opens on the TV screen. But no other app. Then I tick on 'mirroring' for display prefs and can see my Mac desktop on the Samsung TV screen and work normally. I wonder, however, if I could use the TV screen alone or, at least, use that TV 'space' as a separate full working space. BTW, that 'space' with its empty dashboard, it does not show when I swipe spaces on my Mac, nor can I swipe on the TV screen to get my MBP desktop outside the mirror mode. I'm probably lacking the right knowledge here. So, have anyone made a better experience wth TV screens?
    Thanks
    Guy

    Gzk,
After you connect and the image is mirrioring go to system preferences>displays, arrangement tab, un tick mirroring. You will then see 2 windows in the pane, one with a white top and 1 without, you can drag the white top to either side that side will be the screen that stays on your built in. you can then drag (clicking and holding a second window (application) off to the side of the screen and that will show on the TV. (By clicking and sragging the top bar on the application.
Also if you click Show displays in the menu abr, it will put an icon there that you can click on and access the display prefs faster and easier
    hope this helps
You should run software update to get to 10.7.5

  • What data does SNMP return and what is the best way to explore it?

    Hi All
I have some queries about using SNMP on Cisco devices.
    1. What is the best way to get an idea of what data MIBs can return?
I have entered the commmand "show snmp mib". However, the number of MIBs generated is huge!
    2. Can you enter a command on the Cisco device itself that returns snmp data?
e.g. if I want to see what data a MIB entry returns, can I interrogate it on the Cisco device itself rather than having to rely on network management software?
The reason I ask is that we are currently looking for Network Management Software. However, I have no idea what data SNMP can return, therefore don't know if what the Management Software offers is comprehensive or not.
Any suggestions on how best to get an idea the data SNMP can generate plus any other suggestions are very welcome!
    Thanks
    John

Generally speaking, snmp can query about any parameter of the system. An enterprise class device has almost all conceivable parameters instrumented thus. A device's inventory (chassis, cards, ports, power supplies, software image, etc.) and the state of its interfaces and traffic they are carrying are among the primary ones.
You can query a device's snmp variables remotely "by hand" using an open source distribution of a tool like snmpwalk. You need to know what you're looking for - i.e., the exact oid (object ID) string or else you get a long reply like you alluded to. It also helps to have the actual MIB you are querying against locally so that the output you get will be human-readable. Otherwise you'll get long numeric strings (the snmp oid) followed by alphanumeric values which may or may not make sense at first glance depending on the oid being queried. A MIB's purpose is to add that abstraction layer / interpretation to make the output more useful to the operator.
The purpose of an NMS (very generally speaking) is to give an even higher layer of abstraction to organize the querying and reporting of all these various data into a useful system with dashboards, graphs, reports etc.
