Emulate ctrl-alt-supr y windows to lock the session

Hi! I'm doing an application for a PC class room. I want to make a software that from the server it can block a PC, the same way ctrl-alt-del does. I mean, I don't want to try to block it by pure java (I think this is impossible), but what I want to know, if is there is some way to lock it with windows commands.
Thanks a lot for your help!

The Win32 API function LockWorkstation will lock the machine
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/sysinfo/base/lockworkstation.asp).
You can either use JNI to call the function, or run the following command:
rundll32 user32.dll,LockWorkStation

    Dear all,
I am a java developer, I'm from cambodia, I don't know how to disabled ctrl+alt+dle on windows platform. can any one helps me to solve this problem. I hope all of you can do it. thanks for your kindness.

There used to be a win32 call for it, so if you want it you'll need to go back to C/C++ and do JNI, provided it is still in the API.

  • Ctrl+alt delete in Windows XP. Where is Pause button?

How to do the ctrl+alt delete in Windows XP?
Where can I find the Pause button you see on regular keyboard?

Search the Discussion Board using "ctrlaltdel" as the string. There are a number of possible solutions posted, including key remappers and external keyboards. kierrep posted the following answer earlier this month, and the questioner gave the post a star:
    Try "input remapper" instead:

this programm is amazing for windows on a mac!
-it enables the fn-keys (for display brightnes and volume)
-the right click is the second enter key on your key board
    -fn-eject works like print screen
    -for contorl-alt-delte: fn-ctrl-alt-backspace (of course: delete = fn-backspace)
Just an advice: if you have problems or questions about boot camp, try http://forum.onmac.net/
It is a nice forum and almost every question has already been discussed there. Just use the search function.

  • Revolve 810 G1 Unlock Computer when in Tablet Mode. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL or Windows Security Button

    1.  I have an Revolve 810 G1
Running Windows 7 Pro (64 Bit).
When I change the screen to Tablet Mode
(Folding tablet over keyboard and using as tablet).
    I lock my computer.
    2.  What to know how to unlock without having to Open back up and use the CTL-Alt-DEL keys.
When Locked screen shows:  Press CTRL-ALT-DEL or use the Windows Security Button to unlock this computer.
I would like to use the Windows Button on the bottom of the screen
(One Used in Windows 8 to change between Desktop and Metro) to Unlock screen And bring up on screen keyboard to put in my password.
This is probably how it should work, but it does not work.
Even bringing up the onscreen keyboard via the blue power button On the screen to Ease Of Access does not work.
The CLT-ALT-DEL on the on screen keyboard will not unlock the screen.
    P.S.
Where is that Windows Security Button when you need it?
    Thanks,
    Rog

If you are using Windows 7 (not Windows 8), you should be able to touch the Ease of Access button at the lower left of the screen, then select Type without the keyboard (On-screen keyboard). When the on-screen keyboard pops-up, press CTRL, then ALT, then DEL. You should get a password prompt; the on-screen keyboard will stay visible unless and until you close it.

    HI, Michael;
Crystal Reports 2008 is the only version that is tested / certified and supported on Windows 7.
Another thing that I noticed from your post - Crystal Reports XI does not work with VS.NET 2008 - are you sure that is the version you are using? Which versions of our .NET assemblies do you have in your project?
    Best Regards,

  • I downloaded the newest versus of firefox and now it will not open. I've ctrl-alt-delete and under processes ended the process and it still doesn't open.

I'm using Int. explore right now because firefox will not work. Every time I turn on my computer in the morning it will not work.

The message box will have an option [start new session] try clicking that.
If that fails you may need to delete sessionstore.js and its coppies and backups to get the sytem working again, but lets try the obvious solution first.

My IPad is stuck on Verifying.  I'm on the Settings page and there is a box that says Account not Verified.  At the bottom is something in red asking me if I want Delete Account?  It's been stuck for an hour.  I tried turning my IPad off, but when I go back on and into Settings it's still there.  Does anyone know how to get out of this?  Thank you.

  • CTRL + ALT + BACKSPACE or F1, F2, etc lock

I've read many posts from this forum about this subject, tried every suggestion, but the things remains the same:
After X has started, the combination of keys ctrl + alt +F1 or any other vc combination gives me a black screen, idem for ctrl + alt + backspace.  Even exit from the window manager (fluxbox, in this case) does the same.
I've a Phitronics AM2N1K-M motherboard, chipset Nvidia MCP61v (nforce 4) , vga onboard GeForcr 6100. An AMD 64 3200+ processor and 512Mb ddr2 RAM. I'm using Arch 32 , because i'm waiting for the TI market wakes for the 64 bit world.
I've tried many xorg configurations, in all of them the driver used is "nvidia" , the 3d reosurces works, the windowm manager starts, (using xinitrc), the maximum resolution is 1024x768, (maximum supported by the monitor). The only problem is described above.
    Any help is welcome.

Yes, i could switch between them, with no X . I used the same xorg.conf in the distributions above, and in the new Debian etch, in the same hardware, and it works. Maybe i've missed some file in the arch system installation, I don't know, because i've removed Arch.
I'm a big fan of Arch. I came from Slackware, and I love the Arch way. I've tried Arch64, but get tired of the 32 bit chroot solution. I'd really like to go back to Arch, but my projects (at work and home) make me use the (bleargh) Fedora64, the easyest solution to everything but java-plugin.
But I digress.I will give Arch a try in the same machine again at some point of my projects, but time is crucial for me now. Thank you for you help.

  • Ctrl+Alt+C Shortcut Problem in Indesign CS3

I cannot use the ctrl+alt+c shortcut in IdCS3. The alt key works with all other shortcuts. I believe this is caused by ATI's catalyst control center which uses the same shortcut to open it's window but I disabled the hotkeys in catalyst and even changed that hotkey to one besides ctrl+alt+c and I can still not get the shortcut to work in Id.
This happened to me about a year ago and I can't remember how I fixed it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I had this problem, Ctrl-Alt-C did not work in Indesign or Photoshop (but CS5.5 & Windows 7).
    To fix it:
    > right click your desktop background
    > select catalyst Control Centre (top of list)
    > ‘Options’ at top right pull down menu
(if you can’t see this, choose Advanced install, OK, then go back to step one again)
    >Hotkeys > Hot Keys Manager
    > select the one thing in the list, then press Edit
    > Change from Ctrl+Alt+C  to  Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C
    > OK, OK, OK
Hey presto!  It’s all working now!

Any ideas how to solve this issue?

  • Bootcamp perfect - now need ctrl-alt-del key map

    Hi Guys,
Installed bootcamp, XP SP2 on MBP works perfectly, joined local Windows domain - no worries - now on boot of course it wants the infamous cntl-alt-del key combo - I've tried just about everything but no luck.
In the end plugged in external PC usb keyboard, got in and turned off the requirement to enter ctrl-alt-del in windows as a work around.
Any ideas on how to map the MBP keyboard to work? Thanks all.

Ctrl Alt Del on Windows XP:
    After installing,
    1) go to Start>Run
    2) Enter "remapkey" (witout quotes)
A nice GUI utility pops up to let you remap keys on your keyboard. You can use it to remap the delete key. I suggest using the Right Command key.
After saving, reboot and you'll be able to use Ctrl-Alt-(Right Command) to do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and logon to Windows domains and other useful things.

Is this really a key combination you find it easy to press by mistake? To answer the question, no, it doesn't look like you can remap that, but note that if you choose Edit -> Undo immediately after deleting, the message will come back.
