  • Milestone Billing

    Dear Experts,
I'm interested to know whether DIP profile is mandatory to bill customer projects through milestone billing & sales order?
I never experienced customer projects and in capital projects, customer billing was not there.
So if we can bill without DIP profile, how can we do?
    Waiting for your valuable suggestions
    Regards,
    VINOD.V.

    Hi Vinod,
Milestone billing and RRB are two different concepts and RRB need not do anything with MS billing.
In Milestone billing, following are the configurations which need to be done.
You should have a Billing Plan with Milestone billing in SD with relevant date categories, etc and this Billing plan should be assigned to the relevant item category
From PS, you will have basic PS configuration entries followed by Milestones, with the usages etc.
Also some transactional projects, WBS elements or networks with Milestones enabled in either WBS or in Network activities.
These milestones should be Billing relevant milestones (Sales Document Date check box ticked on)
Now the sales order items should have account assignment object as WBS element.
If these set ups are available, then it is possible to have MS billing. When activities are confirmed in Network, billing is activated for the relevant milestones.
Having said these, it is also possible to have a simplified version of Milestone billing without Project System, just by enabling a MS billing plan. But here all the billing plan records need to be manually managed with billing block etc....
This is only a basic tip to explore further. If we shoudl enable the complete MS billing with PS, you will also need help from a PS consultant.
You can do MS billing very well without DIP profile
    Hope this helps

  • Payments for Consolidated billing

how receipts are applied to the Consolidated billing number?
    Thanks,
    Prudhvi.
    www.erpschools.com

    Hi
Hope you know the set up for Consolidation Billing. If you enable the Show Billing Number check box in system options form in AR, then while creating Sales Invoices you will find the Transaction number field split into two. One for Consolidated Billing and the other field for Transaction Number.
When you create a Receipt and apply to an Invoice also, you will find the same two fields for Transaction number. You can choose the Consolidated billing number and the Transaction Number to whcih you want to apply the receipt
    Hope this helps

  • Relevant for billing and pricing

    Hi All,
In the config for item category. There are two settings, one is "relevant for billing" and other is "pricing".
what is the difference bewteen the two.... since if i enable relevant for billing, it automatically means the pricing will happen since relevant for billing means, an invoice with prices will be made.
if you disagree.can someone explain with some examples.
    regards
    sonu

    Hi Sonu,
The Billing Relevance field only tells you whether the material should be carried over to the invoice document or not. An item in quotation, wtih item category AFN, is never be billable and should appear in the invoice document and hence would have Billing Relevance as not relevant. However, the customer or user might need to know the price of material when quotation  is being created. For this the pricing field should be used. If the pricing is set as not relevant then the system does not carry out the pricing calculation. So you could have item categories not relevant for billing but relevant for pricing and vice versa. Use AFN and TANN for comparision.

You have to enable the PERIODIC BILLING as the billing plan for your case.
You can refer to the OSS note 831158 which gives lot of other OSS notes for you to configure the scenario.

  • Payment methods for Wire transfers

    Hello,
I want to decide which payment method to configure for wire transfer out of the standard SAP methods:
    D     Bank transfer (ACH CCD)
    P     Bank transfer (ACH PPD)
    T     Bank transfer (ACH CTX)
What is the difference between each of these transfer types, if someone can pls suggest will appreciate that.

    Win:
    CCD:
    Cash Concentration or Disbursement
Cash Concentration or Disbursement can be either an ACH credit or debit where funds are transferred between corporate entities.
The format can support a limited amount of payment related data with the funds transfer while also being capable of a stand-alone funds transfer.
    PPD:
    Prearranged Payment and Deposit Entry
Direct Deposit - Direct Deposit is a credit program that transfers funds into a consumer's account at the Receiving Depository Financial Institution. The amount deposited can be from a variety of products, such as payroll, interest, pension, dividends, etc.
Pre-Authorized Bill Payment - Preauthorized payment is a debit program enabling companies with billing operations to collect funds from consumers thorough the electronic transfer of bill payment entries.
The consumer grants the originating company authorization to collect periodic charges to his or her account as bills come due. This concept has been successful in both recurring bills of regular amounts (mortgage payments) and variable amounts (utility bills).
    CTX:
The Corporate Trade Exchange format supports transferring of funds, either credits or debits, within a trading partner relationship utilizing a full ANSI ASC X12 message or when payment related UN/EDIFACT information is sent with the funds transfer.
Multiple addenda records contain the ANSI or UN/EDIFACT information.

  • SD: Condition record not getting automatically determined

    Hi,
Condition record not getting automatically determined for a condition type for which following access is maintained.
The access has table containing following fields:
    Sales Organisation
    Distribution Channel
    Division
    Sales Document type
    Sales Document No.
    Material no.
    Following is the scenario:
A sales order is created  for Project Systems attach a WBS element to the line item .
With respect to the above created sales order a Billing request ( a sales doc. type which is different than the above sales order). When the billing request is created materials appearing in the line item will be different.Different materials will appear in the billing request because of the DIP profile maintained.
The prerequisite is that before creating billing request the sales employee has to maintain condition master record with above access. The condition record will combine sales organisation, distribution channel, division, sales document type ,
sales document number ( the 1st refered sales order)
    and the material are different
than the ones maintained in the 1st sales order.
This will enable in getting billing request generated without manual intervention in pricing for other materials for which condition records have been maintained as stated above.
Following is the error message we get
    ===================================
" Inactive        X   Inactive via formulae of incorrect "
    Thanks

As I know, thats just a warning message(if its a std one).
    Ignore it and save.
Check your pricing date of the document. For execution it should be similar or after valid-from date maintain in condition record.
But, you need not create a condition record. Simply change the existing one combination of your desire. But, this warning will come there also for your combination.
    Thanks & Regards

  • VPRS incorrect cost when using Split Valuation

    Hello,
We are using split valuation thus each valuation type has a separate moving average price. When creating a  billing doc, my pricing procedure is called which includes VPRS. The problem is the cost returned is not for the correct valuation type which is passed in the billing document (Field BWTAR). The cost returned in pricing is the moving average without any valuation type. Does anyone know of any configuration to calculate VPRS based on the batch/valuation type provided in the billing document?
My pricing procedure includes condition VPRS which is set to SUTOT = B, Reqt = 4 and statistical. The condition type is set to defaults (Cond Class = B, Calculation Type = C, Condition Category = G).  The article master has field Price Control set to V and split valuation is enabled.
The billing document type being used is FP (POS Interface)
    The item category is DLN
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pierre

    Hello Pierre
I am not totally knowledgeable on this subject but want to give my best shot.
I think you need to ensure that the system takes (redetermines)  the cost from Valuation segment in the material master.
    1) So make the cond category a T (Moving price). Don't change VPRS but copy it and set up ZPRS and then use it in the pricing procedure as an alternative to VPRS.
    2) You may also  need to work on the copy control- Item cat level-  especially Pricing Rules- Probably you need to set up a custom one which says 'keep manual prices as they are, but redetermine cost". Then you need to set up USEREXIT_PRICING_RULE  from Program RV61AFZA to make this work.  . Use OSS note 24832 to set up your new pricing rule.
    3) Also check out 'Price Source' field- in copy control again-  to see if it helps you achieve your objective.
Also about VPRS, OSS note 547570 says  "If the condition control (KSTEU) is set to 'H', the cost was taken from the goods issue. If it set to 'A', it was redetermined from the valuation segment of the material master, in case of 'D' or 'E' it was copied from the preceding document:.  But I don't know how you can  use this information.
Go through these OSS notes and those mentioned within for a good idea of VPRS.

  • Consolidated Customer Invoice

    Hi Dina,
My client's requirement is to generate AR invoices such that all projects belonging to one customer be grouped as a single consolidated invoice with lines representing each project and its corresponding amount. We are on 11.5.10.2.
I have this solution in mind:
Let's say we have 5 customers and 15 projects shared across them.
I would run the invoice generation process for all projects and then run 'Interface Invoices to Receivables' to move the invoices to AR Interface tables.
I would now customize the 'Auto Invoice Import Program' such that it creates only 5 invoices (one for each customer). Each invoice created will have lines such that one line represents the project and its corresponding amount specific to the cusotmer.
Please advise if this solution would work and also let me know if there will be any implications on the 'Tieback Invoices from Receivables' process.
    Thanks,
    Chandu

    Hi
    Your understanding is correct.
You may want to review the AR user guide for further details. Here is the quated text from the User Guide.
    Imported Billing Number_
The Imported Billing Number feature provides you with an alternative way to group
your imported invoices at the site level for consolidated presentation of billing. You
supply the value for the billing number and then create your own custom consolidated
    bill formats.
AutoInvoice has been enhanced to accept the billing number when you use this
alternative method. You can use existing receipt application functionality which allows
you to match your customer to their payments using this billing number.
When the Imported Billing Number feature is activated, AutoInvoice validates all of the
invoices imported under a single bill. For all invoices grouped under one bill,
AutoInvoice checks each invoice to ensure that:
    • all invoices have the same customer bill-to address. (If any single invoice from the
group fails the validation, then all of the invoices belonging to this bill will be
    rejected.)
    • the Imported Billing Number is unique for the given operating unit.
To use the Imported Billing Number feature:
    1. Set up the customer profile to enable Balance Forward Billing. Select Imported as the format.
Important: The Imported format is available only if you select site as the Bill Level.
    2. Run AutoInvoice to populate the CONS_BILLING_NUMBER column in the RA_INTERFACE_LINES table.
Note: This lets you group invoices under one bill even if the invoices have different payment terms, receipt methods, payment
details, PO numbers, or invoicing rules, as long as they are all addressed to the same customer bill-to address.
    3. Generate custom invoices.
