Encoding in Receiver side file adapter

Hi All,
I have special characters in message structure. While writing the message to output file the special characters are not getting printed(getting replaced by '?'); I have tried using UTF8, ISO-8859-1 and other code pages related to latin characters; Still facing an issue. I have tried using Binary mode also.
I tried using similar encoding formats in sender adapter. It was working fine and all the special characters are visible.
Is this problem in receiver side file adapter? Any inputs on the same will be a lot more help ful.
Thanks in advance
Nik

Hi
I have é, à and some other characters in my source message structure. The same characters are visible in message monitoring. While writing to file, they are being replaced by ?
This type of character are generated using UTF-8
use the same for receiver
The default setting for code page is the system code page that is specific to the configuration of the installed operating system.The content of the message needs to be converted to the corresponding code page before the message is saved as a file.
You should use this conversion only for plain text and not for XML documents. If you want to change the encoding of an XML document, then select the File Type as Binary and apply XMLAnonymizerBean as an additional module in the Module tab page.
Thanks
Gaurav

  • Problem in Receiver side File Adapter using FTPS mode

    Hello,
    Here I am facing some problem in receiver side while using FTPS mode in the channel configuration.
    The error message which i could see in the audit log is,
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool: com.sap.aii.af.service.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: java.lang.NullPointerException
    Can anyone help me out in solving this issue ASAP?
    I am using Per file transfer mode ni the reciever channel.
    Thanks in advance,
    Yours

    HI Surya,
    First check wether server started or not and then check you are connecting to FTP server by
    go to run -> cmd and write ping and ipaddress which is used and see whether u r getting reponse from teh FTP server.
    Try to login to the ftp server which you have mentioned in CC using the user name and pwd, to chk whether you have the permissions to login to the server.
    Also the check whether the folder you are trying to access is having permission for delete/read/write.
    Restart the FTP server and try it again.

  • EOIO service on Receiver FTP/File Adapter

    Hi,
    I have a scenario where I would like the sender adapter to be quality of service, EO (Exactly Once), and the receiver ftp/file adapter to be of quality of service, EOIO (Exactly Once in Order).  Is there a way to change the quality of service on the receiver adapter only so that it differs from the sender adapter?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
    Unfortunately changing the QoS in the adapter module does not solve the issue.  The message appears to be put into the queue prior to the module being called.  Below is the audit log.
    2007-10-26 09:58:30 Success Using connection AFW. Trying to put the message into the receive queue.
    2007-10-26 09:58:30 Success Message successfully put into the queue.
    2007-10-26 09:58:30 Success The message was successfully retrieved from the receive queue.
    2007-10-26 09:58:30 Success The message status set to DLNG.
    2007-10-26 09:58:30 Success Delivering to channel: XXXXXXX
    2007-10-26 09:58:30 Success ChangeQoS: Module called
    2007-10-26 09:58:30 Success File adapter receiver: processing started; QoS required: ExactlyOnceInOrder
    As you can see the QoS has been changed to EOIO from the adapter module, but the message is still in Qos EO.
    Am I missing something or is there another way this can be achieved?  Can we do this in the mapping somehow before it ever gets to the AFW?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to transform data received from file adapter

    hi',
    I am reading the data from XML file using file adapter, now I want to write the same contents which I have read from this file to a different/new XML file, the issue is I am unable to perform a transform here, when I use a transform with source element as the output of the file read and target as the input to the new file it is writing an empty file,
    I have checked the audit trail which showsme that the transform is empty.
    please tell me how can I transform the element which I have received from one file to make them as input to next file

  • Regarding Receiver side file

    Hello Experts,
             Here i got some problem in file - file scenario. Here i can able to send my source structure from sender side but it is not able to see in the receiver side.Even i could able to see sent message in monitoring. but if i see in the receiver directory, there i could not see the received file.
    So where i have to search for it. I have seen all the names which i have given they are all corect only.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    1.Check if the file has been picked up from the source.
    2.Check if the message is successful with a checkered flag in transaction sxmb_moni.
    3.Check if the target directory has been correctly mentioned in the receiver.
    4.Also check the message monitoring,both messages from the Integration engine and Adapter engine.There are chances that your message might be stuck in the adapter engine with 'system error' or in 'to be delivered' status due to which your message might not have reached the target.In that case,you will have to resend the message from the RWB.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Problem With Receiver Communication (File Adapter)

    Hi,
    My SAP XI Version is 3.0 with Service Pack 7,I have a strange problem,
    I have a flat file coming from Unix system,I need to convert this into  XML and put a copy in the Archive mode and send the XML file,getting it converted into flat file format send it to the receiver.Here I have to do the content Conversion,So,I have done content conversion while configuring Sender and Receiver Communication Channel.
    I am using NFS as Transport Proctocol.So, everthing was fine when i run the scenario,after activating.The Sender communication Channel is Archiving the files.But I am unable to see any file with receiver communication channel.
    So,for this I have checked up with Adapter monitoring in Runtime Workbench. In my File Adapter My Sender as well as Receiver Communication Channels are in Green.They are mentioning that Sender Communction is sucessful and
    RECEIVER COMMUNICATION IS Sucessful but no messages processed.
    Can any one suggest what to do now.Everything is fine with Content conversion and Unix System.But my receiver is not receiving any messages.
    Should any OSS notice or patch work needs to be applied.
    Thank You,
    KishoreJ.

    Hi Kishore,
    I Guess you should first see if the file is being picked......for that do the following.
    While configuring your Sender File Adapter, let the mode be DELETE. This way, we will know if the file is being picked by the File adapter. The file will be deleted and you can be sure that it has been picked up.
    Next, look into the RWB--> FILE ADAPTER and see the log of the file adapter
    and also, you can see the flow of your message in the integration engine in SXMB_MONI.
    Ans still if your message is not showing up in SXMB_MONI, please do as explained below.
    Increase logging and trace level in:
    SXMB_ADM -> Integration Engine Configuration -> Specific Configuration
    Also create entries as follows in it:
    LOGGING = 1
    LOGGING_SYNC = 1
    TRACE_LEVEL = 3
    TRACE_LEVEL_PROPAGATION = 1
    Also refer XI: I cannot see some of my messages in the SXMB_MONI

  • Dynamic file name in receive FTP file adapter

    Hi, All,
    I have a ABAP proxy -> FTP scenorio. The sender side MT is like this:
    <Sender_MT>
      <FileName>abc.txt</FileName>
      <Record>
          <TEXT>.......</TEXT>
          <TEXT>.......</TEXT>
         <TEXT>  ......</TEXT>
    </Record>
    </Sender_MT>
    I would like to output the data which are the values of the tags <TEXT> to a flat file with the file name of the value of <FileName>
    I tried to use Variable Substitution in FTP CC. I set a val1 = payload:Sender_MT:1,FileName,1 .  But I got an error says "Unknown structure 'ns0:Sender_MT' found in document'. I looked at the message monitoring. It shows payload <n0:Sender_MT>. not <ns0:Sender_MT>. I think that is why I got the error. Then I tried to use XSLT mapping. I set
    <Receiver_MT>
    <Record>
         <xsl:value-of select="ns0:Sender_MT/Record"/>
    </Record>
    </Receiver_MT>
    But I get an error says "XMLParser: No data allowed here: (hex) 32, 64, 66(:main:, row:1, col:3): ".
    Could anybody help me out? Thanks!

    Dude this looks purely like a variable reference error. Have you mapped the the Filename field in the target too? UR XSLT mapping dosent seem to indicate that... run ur mapping test to check that..
    Second ... if ur source structure is hierarchcially similar then var 1 should be -
    payload:Receiver_MT:1,FileName,1

  • Receiver side file name same as Sender side file name

    Hi,
      We want to pick a file from one location and put into another location using XI <u><b>with the same name in which the file was lying there in the source directory/folder</b></u>. This we need to do it w/o opening the file and hence we cannot use the variable substitution also.
    Any clue????
    Thanks in advance
    Jayakrishnan

    Hi,
    There was a similar discussion which went on this topic.
    Retain file name
    In my opinion, we can easily achieve this using modules. The steps are very simple.
    (any file) ->[module #1]-> XML -> Sender CC
    The XML produced will have 2 tags say,
    <filename></filename><data_base64></data_base64>
    where fileame is the name of the file and data is the base64 converted data. Similarly
    Receiver CC -> XML -> [module #2] ->  (any file)
    During the second step there will be a default step module  called localejbs/CallSapAdapter. Just remove this entry and have only your module entry provided the module #2 must implement all FileOutputStream functions to write the file from the stream, extracting the filename from the xml node. Since you are removing the CallSapAdapter module, the default file which you give in the Receiver CC is not created, instead the filename which comes alone the tag is created. I hope this information helps you.
    I am planning to put a blog on this
    Best regards,

  • Receiver file adapter behave like a EOIO

    I have an interface wherein R/3 sends IDocs to XI and the messages have QOS as EO. XI triggers a proxy interface which retrieves a certain data back from R/3. Once the mapping is done in XI, the receiver, a file adapter creates a bunch of files for each message.
    Here's the data scale.
    1 IDoc triggers 1000+ proxy message interfaces which triggers over 2000+ files.
    All messages in the receiver queue (XI_SERIALIZE00xx) go into EOIO status. What is driving this EOIO message type (IDocs are coming in as EO messages).
    The problem, if one message gets into system error, all go into holding status. They are all independent of each other. How can I fix this??
    Thanks,
    Pam

    After digging into this further...here's how it is working and I'm figuring out how the queue id got assgined to proxy inbound (sender).
    - <SAP:ReliableMessaging xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:QualityOfService>ExactlyOnceInOrder</SAP:QualityOfService>
      <SAP:QueueId>XI_SERIALIZE0012</SAP:QueueId>
      </SAP:ReliableMessaging>
    Here's the flow.
    IDoc message (r/3) to ZIDoc_in (XI) - the messages are EO
    ZIDoc_in (R/3 proxy) to ZIDoc_out (XI) - the messages here are set as EOIO with the queueid from above.
    ZIDoc_out (XI) to ZFile_in (File receiver) - thousands of messages go in as EOIO
    as per this blog
    -  /people/arulraja.ma/blog/2006/08/18/xi-reliable-messaging-150-eoio-in-abap-proxies
    I did not find the queue id set in the abap proxy code. So where is this "XI_SERIALIZExxxx" being set and how is it becoming EOIO?
    Not sure if the parameter in the interface determination is doing this since the messages from the proxy shows up as EOIO.
    Thanks.

  • How to read files with codepage UTF16LE with "Sender File Adapter"

    Hi everybody,
    I am using a XI-Filesender-Adapter to get a (UTF-16LE encoded) file und process it in XI-Mapping.
    This is my File-Content:
    Cost Centre,Cost Code,Page Count (B&W),Page Count (Colour),Job Count
    Unknown,Lexmark,"37,480",334,"11,968"
    Unknown,Unknown,312,0,177
    110000,Lexmark,128,228,43
    The HEX-representation of this content is:
    FF FE 43 00 6F 00 73 00 74 00 20 00 43 00 65 00
    (The starting 2 Bytes FF FE represent UTF16-LE )
    And this is the payload I get for mapping:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <ns:MT_POM_KOSTEN xmlns:ns="http://aua.com/pom">
    <POM_REC>
      <COSTCENTER>uFEFFCost Centre</COSTCENTER>

    I can see the correct strings (for example Cost Centre) in  payload, but the string-comparison in the user defines function cannot recognize the equality of the strings:
    for (int i =0; i < a.length; i++) {
    if (
       (a<i>.equals("Cost Centre"))  )
      result.addSuppress();
    else
      result.addValue("");
    Actually I am using UTF-8 as codepage in Fileadapter (and Text as type)
    When I try to use UTF16 (or UTF-16LE) as Codepage, I am getting unreadable characters.
    I also tried binary, UTF16-BE,...
    The only way is to covert the file to ANSI before  I use it with XI. Then my function does work correctly.
    Does anybody have an idea, how I can read a UTF16-LE File and process it correctly in XI?
    I am using XI 7.00 0023  and JSDK 1.4.2-34
    Thanks a lot
    Armin

    Hello Armin,
                        I have gone through some SAP notes and blogs  to find solution to your problem, here is what I found
    1. SAP NOTE 821267
    q) How do I correctly configure the File Encoding used by the File
    Adapter?
    Flat Files with File Content Conversion
    For a File Sender channel, configure the encoding of the source
    file. The file will be interpreted according to the configured
    encoding and converted to XML with an UTF-8 encoding.
    For a File Receiver channel, configure the encoding to match
    the encoding you would like to be written to the target flat
    file.
    - Flat Files without File Content Conversion
    Whether to configure an encoding in this case depends on if you
    want to pass through the file "as is", e.g. within a File
    Sender to File Receiver scenario, or if you want to convert the
    file's encoding on its way through the Integration Server. For
    "as is" processing, configure both the sender and the receiver
    using the File Type setting "Binary".
    To apply an encoding conversion, configure the respective
    source and target encoding in both the sender and receiver
    channel.
    Important: Configuring an encoding in the receiver channel
    will only lead to the expected results if the payload sent to
    the receiver channel is in UTF-8 format (e.g., by having
    specified an encoding conversion in the Sender channel).
    So as per this note if you configure the encoding scheme of sender communication channel to UTF-16LE, adapter should be able to convert it to UTF-8 by default. But you have posted that this encoding scheme is leading to unreadable charcters
    2) SAP note 880173
    This speaks of use of module XMLAnonymizerBean which can be applied to XML payload to change its encoding.
    3) How to guide on encoding : http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/502991a2-45d9-2910-d99f-8aba5d79fb42?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true
    4) SAP note:960663
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/45/da2deb47812e98e10000000a155369/content.htm
    TextCodePageConversion Bean details which might solve your problem.
    5) Finally if nothing above works you need  a java mapping code to convert to target XML structure without any File content conversion. The mapping will convert the received file to proper target XML in "UTF-8" encoding. Please let us know if you need help on the code with this final option.

  • File adapter - encryption & decryption

    Scenario is SAP<->SAP XI->3rd party tool
    SAP XI is doing inbound FTP to SAP and outbound FTP to 3rd party tool. How we can use encryption and decryption in it.
    Is their any other security issue in this scenario ?

    Hi,
    Generally, the message payload of an XI message is treated as UTF-8 when it needs to be converted from or into a different encoding. So, what you specify in the File Sender channel is the source encoding for an encoding conversion to UTF-8. On the other hand, in the Receiver channel, you specify the target encoding for a conversion from UTF-8. If you configure a channel's File Type setting as "Binary", no conversion will be applied.
    Depending on your scenario, only some encoding settings actually make sense and lead to the expected results:
    XML Files
    An XML file's encoding is set in the XML header, which is later interpreted when parsing the XML, e.g. in the mapping, so there is no necessity to perform an encoding conversion in the File Adapter. As a rule of thumb, always configure the File Type parameter of a sender or receiver channel as "Binary" when reading or writing XML data.
    Important: Even if you configure a File Encoding in the File Adapter channel, the File Adapter will not re-write the XML header to reflect the changed encoding, so you will probably see an XML parsing error later during the processing of the message if you specify an encoding.
    Flat Files with File Content Conversion
    For a File Sender channel, configure the encoding of the source file. The file will be interpreted according to the configured encoding and converted to XML with an UTF-8 encoding.
    For a File Receiver channel, configure the encoding to match the encoding you would like to be written to the target flat file.
    Flat Files without File Content Conversion
    Whether to configure an encoding in this case depends on if you want to pass through the file "as is", e.g. within a File Sender to File Receiver scenario, or if you want to convert the file's encoding on its way through the Integration Server. For "as is" processing, configure both the sender and the receiver using the File Type setting "Binary".
    To apply an encoding conversion, configure the respective source and target encoding in both the sender and receiver channel.
    Important: Configuring an encoding in the receiver channel will only lead to the expected results if the payload sent to the receiver channel is in UTF-8 format (e.g., by having specified an encoding conversion in the Sender channel).

  • Multiple files in file adapter

    Hi
    My requirement is i need to pick all the files with different names from a folder through sender side file adapter.
    i give the source directory name... from that directory i need to pick all the files with different names. So how to achieve this requirement.
    Thanks
    MunnaV

    Hi,
      In sender comm channel give the source directory name and If you have only text files  then you can use *.txt and if they are xml then use *.xml ij source file name.....it will be easier for sender CC to pick files rather than using * ....
    If you  want to process all files at one shot, then you will have to use BPM....inside the BPM you can have a loop to collect your multiple files in a single msg.....

  • Problem in file-Adapter during polling with u00E4,u00F6 etc.

    Hallo,
    i have the problem described above. Is there any help?
    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hi,
    Please change the File Encoding in the sender file adapter to  <b>ISO-8859-1</b>.
    Please look into this link,.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/content.htm
    --> File Type.
    <i>File Type
    Specify the document data type.
    &#9675;       Binary
    &#9675;       Text
    Under File Encoding, specify a code page.
    The default setting is to use the system code page that is specific to the configuration of the installed operating system. The file content is converted to the UTF-8 code page before it is sent.
    Permitted values for the code page are the existing Charsets of the Java runtime. According to the SUN specification for the Java runtime, at least the following standard character sets must be supported:
    &#9632;       US-ASCII
    Seven-bit ASCII, also known as ISO646-US, or Basic Latin block of the Unicode character set
    &#9632;       <b>ISO-8859-1
    ISO character set for Western European languages (Latin Alphabet No. 1), also known as ISO-LATIN-1</b>
    &#9632;       UTF-8
    8-bit Unicode character format
    &#9632;       UTF-16BE
    16-bit Unicode character format, big-endian byte order
    &#9632;       UTF-16LE
    16-bit Unicode character format, little-endian byte order</i>

    1- i am using file adapter at receiver side. i want to create my file with time stamp for that i have given the file construction mode = add time stamp and put file directly .but it is showing time in file name????????
    The addtime stamp will add timestamp as the last part of the filename before the extension.
    2. i want my file name as TimeSheet_Country_Date_time.csv so for this what value i have to give in file Name Scheme parameter.
    You can achieve this using dynamic file naming UDF in mapping and using ASMA in file adapter.
    Use current date function and generate the current date. Then use substring to pick date,time from it and format it according to your requirement (TimeSheet_Country_Date_time).Else you can write a UDF to generate the file name as per your requirement and then pass it to the dynamic filenaming UDF in the mapping.
    Search SDN for dynamic file naming.
