Enh request: add Export for sql results of worksheet

Please implement "Export" on right-click in sql worksheet results (shown after running a query), in a similar way TOAD does.
Export should save all query results (not just the ones shown in worksheet) in the format specified by user (tab-delimited, OpenOffice Spreadsheet etc), including column name.
OpenOffice Spreadsheet would add formatting to spreadsheet columns based on database columns data type and would but the colum names (1st row) in bold, as TOAD does with export to Excel.
Note that current Select All, Copy and Paste in a separate file doesn't work for all rows, doesn't add any formatting and has problems on some rows (breaks tab-delimiting).
Thank you

Thank you for your reply Frank.
This won't solve the issue. An export option on right-click would be more useful, as it can have more options and would include column headers. Some formats to support at the begining:
* tab-delimited text file
* open spreadsheet document
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/office/faq.php
(this one would auto-format the column contents to date, numbers etc. depending on column types in database)
I'd like similar functionality with TOAD's "SaveAs" option for query results, which must be licensed/installed separately now to complement JDeveloper.
This functionality can be reused in JDeveloper to export data in tables browsed in Connections Navigator.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the translation.
    You say you are having a hard time exporting my database Primavera P6 Project Management for SQL Server 2008. Could you give details of exactly what you are using for the export and what problems you are having ?
    Is this an export from an Oracle database or a SQL*Server 2008 database ?

  • Feature request - Vector export for all CC customers (free or paid)

    Hi.
    This is a fantastic tool, that can replace or add really much to the field already covered by Adobe Ideas. It just need to do all the job as Ideas do: export a professional and useable vector file.
    I understand the need of prospecting more customers to the CC service, but it can be done in several other ways. As a professional illustrator, and a huge user of the iPad as a creative tool, not always I need to rely on Adobe Illustrator to finish any job (when I need of it, is just for type work, and I am already using a CS6 version for it, with no intentions - read $$$ - to change for CC by now). My suggestions are:
    a. the addition of this simple export feature (maybe even by e-mail as Ideas do), for free - it would be really kind of Adobe's part ;
    b. not being possible this feature addition for free, make it a paid app, but complete in terms of export options;
    c. or include the vector export feature as an in-app purchase (in both cases I would be paying for it without thinking twice, and I'm sure many other people too).
    That's it. I hope this little - but EXTREMELLY IMPORTANT - request could be implemented as soon as possible in a future update.

    Adobe is the worst tech company on the planet as far as treating their customers well. I've unfortunately been using their products since Illustrator88 as they've been industry standard. I've paid exorbitant amounts to keep the Adobe upgrade extortion ring going. And now, they'd suggest we "upgrade" to IllustratorDraw from AdobeIdeas, crippling the best feature the app has–the ability to export vector art for refining elsewhere. This has actually become a part of my workflow so I'm not giving up Ideas any time soon. As much as I like the new features of Illustrator Draw, they are USELESS (Hear that Adobe?) without the ability to export vector art.
    Thanks for another collective poke in the eye, Adobe. If there's any justice, the $50 AffinityDesigner app will unseat you as emperor soon. Affinity Designer - Vector art & design

  • Enh. request: shortcuts support for button labels

    Hi Apex team,
    it would be nice to enhance shortcuts support for button labels in the next release. There are a lot of standard buttons like 'Cancel', 'Apply Changes', 'Delete', etc. that require translation for each page they appear in global applications.
    Thanks.

    Hi Arno,
    I had a similar issue with trying to create a Nav bar with dynamic content. My solution was to leave all the standard buttons in place and to use setVisible(x) to make them appear or not as required.
    BTW have you noticed that rollover behaviour isn't consistant ie works for FIRST/LAST etc but not for FIND/QUERY.

  • After installed SP1 for SQL Server 2012, can no longer export to csv

    After installing SP1 today via Windows Update, I am no longer able to export data to csv using the SQL Server Import and Export wizard. I get the following error message:
    "Column information for the source and the destination data could not be retrieved, or the data types of source columns were not mapped correctly to those available on the destination provider."
    "Column "col1": Source data type "200" was not found in the data type mapping file."...
    (The above line repeats for each column)
    The work-around I have to do is to manually map each column in the "Edit Mappings..." option from the "Configure Flat File Destination" page of the wizard. This is an extreme inconvenience to have to have to edit the mappings and change
    each column to "string [DT_STR]" type from "byte stream [DT_BYTES]" type each time I want to export to csv. I did not have to do this before installing SP1; it worked perfectly for months with hundreds of exports prior to this update and
    no need to modify mapping.

    I am running Windows 7 64-bit, SQL Server 2012 Express edition. Again, just yesterday from Windows Update, I installed SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 (KB2674319), followed by Update Rollup for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 (KB2793634). This situation was
    not occurring before these updates were installed, and I noticed it immediately after they were installed (and of course I restarted my computer after the updates).
    In SSMS I just now created a test DB and table to provide a step-by-step with screenshots.
    Here is the code I ran to create the test DB and table:
    CREATE DATABASE testDB;
    GO
    USE testDB;
    GO
    CREATE TABLE testTable
    id int,
    lname varchar(50),
    fname varchar(50),
    address varchar(50),
    city varchar(50),
    state char(2),
    dob date
    GO
    INSERT INTO testTable VALUES
    (1,'Smith','Bob','123 Main St.','Los Angeles','CA','20080212'),
    (2,'Doe','John','555 Rainbow Ln.','Chicago','IL','19580530'),
    (3,'Jones','Jane','999 Somewhere Pl.','Washington','DC','19651201'),
    (4,'Jackson','George','111 Hello Cir.','Dallas','TX','20010718');
    GO
    SELECT * FROM testTable;
    Results look good:
    id    lname    fname    address    city    state    dob
    1    Smith    Bob    123 Main St.    Los Angeles    CA    2008-02-12
    2    Doe    John    555 Rainbow Ln.    Chicago    IL    1958-05-30
    3    Jones    Jane    999 Somewhere Pl.    Washington    DC    1965-12-01
    4    Jackson    George    111 Hello Cir.    Dallas    TX    2001-07-18
    In Object Explorer, I right-click on the [testDB] database, choose "Tasks", then "Export Data..." and the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard appears. I click Next to leave all settings as-is on the "Choose a Data Source" page, then on the "Choose a Destination"
    page, under the "Destination" drop-down I choose "Flat File Destination" then browse to the desktop and name the file "table_export.csv" then click Next. On the "Specify Table Copy or Query" page I choose "Write a query to specify the data to transfer" then
    click Next. I type the following SQL statement:
    SELECT * FROM testTable;
    When clicking the "Parse" button I get the message "This SQL statement is valid."
    On to the next page, "Configure Flat File Destination" I try leaving the defaults then click Next. This is where I am getting the error message (see screenshot below):
    Then going to the "Edit Mappings..." option on the "Configure Flat File Destination" page, I see that all columns which were defined as varchar in the table are showing as type "byte stream [DT_BYTES]", size "0", the state column which is defined as char(2)
    shows correctly however with type "string [DT_STR]", size "2" (see screenshow below):
    So what I have to do is change the type for the lname, fname, address and city columns to "string [DT_STR]", then I am able to proceed with the export successfully. Again, this just started happening after installing these updates. As you can imagine, this
    is very frustrating, as I do a lot of exports from many tables, with a lot more columns than this test table.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Installing Java Add-In for an existing ABAP System -Error SQL compatibility

    Hello gurus,
    We have a system and it has only the ABAP instance! So my goal is install the JAVA iinstance. In this momment I´m reading the section "4.4.2 Installing the Java Add-In for an Existing ABAP System (Optional)" in installation guide "SAP ERP 6.0 SR3" (ABAP+JAVA). So, I want to install the JAVA instance which is the Java Add-In for an existing ABAP system!
    So what I did was followed that instructions on that section in guide!
    As you certainly know this process has three sequential phases:
    1) Central Services Instance (SCS) Java Add-In
    2) Database Instance Java Add-In
    3) Central Instance Java Add-In
    The first phase - Central Services Instance (SCS) Java Add-In - it already finished with success, but I´m faccing with a weird error in second phase  Database Instance Java Add-In when I entered all required input parameters, SAPinst shows an error that says:
    The database PRD has the wrong compatibility level. The database used for the installation of an SAP system must have compatibility level: 80 for MS SQL Server 2000 90 for MS SQL Server 2005 SOLUTION: See the MS SQL Server documentation on how to set the compatibility level for a database.
    I don´t know what´s happen, in fact my database is an SQL Server 2008 (100), but I already change it at management studio, the compatibility level to MS SQL Server 2005, but still the error remains!!!     I also tried to ran again the sapinst process, I restarted it but it still show me this error!!
    Can you tell me why and how can I solve this problem?
    Best regards,
    João Dimas - Portugal

    Hello Sunny,
    I still have this error... I don´t know what do to more for this situation!
    I found one not which report this error of compatibility - Note 1152240 - Setting Up Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (R2) - in chapter "VII TROUBLESHOOTING" which said to follow the instructions in chapter III - "Installing SAP systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3".
    When I read this last chapter (III) it tell us to do:
    If you want to install an SAP system based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 on SQL Server 2008, you cannot use the Installation Master and Kernel DVD that you received from SAP or downloaded from SAP Service Marketplace. Instead, you have to do the following:
    Patch your runtime libraries by applying the procedure that is described in note 684106 for your release and machine architecture.
    Use a modified Installation Master DVD
    For more information, see section "VI PROCEDURES" -> "Creating a modified Installation Master DVD".
    Use a modified Kernel DVD
    For more information, see section "VI PROCEDURES" -> "Creating a modified Kernel DVD".
    I did everything that is said in the note (except the "Creating a modified Kernel DVD") because I can not access to the note 1480785 (it say: "The requested SAP Note is either in reworking or is released internally only")
    Can you help me... can you guide me... please!?

  • SQL Developer 2.1.0.63 - Export Data menu missing for SQL Server databases

    Hi
    The Export Data menu only appears for Oracle databases in this version, it does not appear for SQL server databases.
    To demonstrate:
    Press F9 to run query
    Right click on Query Result data
    For Oracle an Export Data sub menu appears
    For SQL server no Export Data sub menu appears
    This worked in previous versions.
    Is this functionality going to reappear?
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi,
    Looks like this is exactly the same problem for third party connections as I have the exact same issue for mySQL.
    I had to apply 1.5.5 version to fix it.
    Hope we're going to have this solved !
    Thanks,

  • Export with right button mouse a sql result

    In SQL developer EA 3.0.4 we don't have the possibility to export à sql result. I very difficult ofr me, because all day in my service we use this, to export to excel or export format insert ,....
    We have to keep 2 versions of SQL developer (3 and 2.1) only because this functionnality doesn't not exist in 3.0.
    Do you have a solution for SQL developper EA 3.0 ?

    In the EA's it's called Unload , but do get 3.0 production, where it's back to Export .
    Have fun,

  • Reporting Services Add-in for Sharepoint- does it need an SQL Server license?

    In a new project we will be creating an SSRS in Sharepoint integrated mode. For this we'll need SQL Server and Sharepoint on that box.
    We'll also have one or more SharePoint Web Front End (WFE) servers. To allow them to connect to the SSRS-in-sharepoint-mode box, and to present the user with the right user interface for doing so, I believe we can install the Reporting Services Add-In for
    Sharepoint on the WFE servers.
    The question is, do we need to have  SQL Server license for each WFE server where we use the Reporting Services Add-In, or is it free to use?
    We've had advice that we need to buy a SQL Server license everywhere we use the add-in, but I am not sure this is correct.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

    Hello there,
    The Reporting service Add-in for SharePoint can be downloaded free on Microsoft Download site. That means it does not need any license on the add-in.

    What does the XML look like? It appears that some of the supposed XML stored as a CLOB is not really valid XML. Find the row in the table that is causing your issue and review the "XML" in it.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services Add-In for SharePoint not installing properly

    Environment: Windows Server 2008R2, SQL Server 2012, SharePoint 2013 Enterprise
    When I run the install for SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint it SHOULD install to c:\program files\common files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14 AND 15. Specifically it should drop a mess of ASPx pages for admin to the \templates\Admin\ReportServer
    folder. In this environment it only pushes them to the 14 folder and not the 15. Any ideas on why this would happen? I have not ever seen this before and it is hosing the install completely.

    Hi Gouranga,
    According to your description, when you install the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint 2013, you find the files are installed into the folder for sharepoint 2010(..../14). Right?
    In Reporting Services, Not all features are supported in all combinations of report server, Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint, and SharePoint Products. Please see the linke below:
    Supported Combinations of SharePoint and Reporting Services Server and Add-in (SQL Server 2012)
    As you can see in the link, the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in is only for Sharepoint 2010. This the reason why it's installed into the file for sharepoint 2010.

  • Unable to install SQL SSRS add-in for SharePoint

    I am unable to install MS SQL SSRS add-in for SharePoint 2010 in a two tier architecture. The following message is displayed while running the Add-in installation:
    "Please ensure Microsoft SharePoint Technologies is installed"
    The environment setup is as mentioned below:
    SharePoint Server
    Has SharePoint 2010 installed
    Hosts Central Administration.
    Has SQL 2008 Reporting Services installed.
    SQL Server:
    Has SQL 2008 R2 installed in SharePoint Integrated Mode
    Has SQL Reporting Services
    Has SharePoint Server installed, configured and joined to two tier farm.
    Could you please help resolve this issue?

    Hi Abhijit,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you ran SQL Reporting service add-in for SharePoint 2010.
    Which version add-in did you use? Please you installed the right version.
    There are some reasons for this error:
    You are installing the wrong version of add-in. For example, installing 32bit add-in on x64 machine or vice versa.
    You haven’t install SharePoint on the report server machine
    Your SharePoint installation is not recognized by the add-in. Either cases, you need to reinstall SharePoint.

  • I have been requested the certificate for iOS development since 4 days ago, but the result is still pending approval. So how many days should i wait?

    i have been requested the certificate for IOS Development since 4 days ago, but the result is still pending approval. So how many days should i wait?

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
    OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
    Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
    Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
    Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
    Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
    How much free space on it now?

  • OBIEE - add button for exporting report into specified folder

    Hi all,
    How do I add button for exporting report into specified folder?
    See example below (this is print screen from working OBIEE report)
    http://s9.postimage.org/xqs9cellb/BI_report_export.png
    Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.6.0

    What version of Crystal Reports are you using?  Any service packs or hot fixes installed?
    Can you open other xls files with 2007?
    Have you ever exported to excel before?
    I export to -excel (97-2003) data only- and open the files with Excel 2007 with no problems. Excel 2007 complains about the old format (xls) and wants to convert it to the new excel format. I alsways ignor it.
    Maybe the 'garbage' you are seeing is because the layout of your crystal report is not working for the export. Is all the data there but you have extra cells and/or lines, or the data is pushed to the left? I find that I must have the fields packed tightly with no space between them and no space above or below the fields, or I get extra cells between and lines above or below them.
    Most of my exports are detail lines with a single line header and columns are set to match the detail line. When exporting multiple lines where the fields do not line up exactly with the ones above them, I may use one or more empty text fields that matches the size of the fields above them to fill the empty space. Sort of like:
    line 1:{field1.}{field2...}{field 3}
    line 2:(text...}{text.....}{field 4)
    And you may need to turn off 'can grow' on all fields as they may cause miss-alignment. All the data will be there when you export it, even what you can not see in Crystal. You will just need to format the cells in Excel to see it.
