Enhancement(Grouping) in a existing dashboard ---Without touching RPD*
Hi All,
I have an existing dashboard as per below.Now i need a similar dashboard with sum of sale per pid per year ie by KEY-VAL.
KEY-VAL is the concatenation of YEAR and PID.
DESC AND TEXT are two empty columns which needs to be there.
At RPD aggregation level is "NONE".Though i have changed it to SUM it did not generate expected output.

I have implemented a few by taking inputs from my previous post like doing sum at column properties of Answers in a Table and Pivot Table but unable to get the exact report that BUSINESS needs.
Also provide additional information that could help me to develop/work on OBIEE dashboard/answers.
Please offer help on this scenario.

Yes ,I have verified at RPD level and columns used at answers.
I didnt find any difference in the column types used in both office and home even aggregation level is none at both ....I really spent considerable amount of time for finding the cause....
One approach that was working in answers - Table Select Summation-and used sum of the (sale) --Iti is working but not per my real need.
Any alternate solution to this..

I have tried to chech if it exists. If I add the user dsstest during the normal installation it is found. I am also logged in as the user dsstest. Then everything should be okay rigth, or is there anything else i can check?

Can you post this on metalink and see if someone at Oracle (or elsewhere) has an answer for us? Somehow, other LIMS developers are distributing LIMS products that allow their users to customize the interface without touching the source code -- no impact on their ability to take new releases. How do they do that?
Here's my question:
Anyone familiar with the Tools / Forms / Design this Form feature in MS Outlook? This allows a mere mortal to actually create and publish a custom Outlook form (could be a Contact, Task, Note, Journal, etc. form) across the organization. Is there such a capability built into Oracle9i Forms? In other words, can a developer easily build and distribute an Oracle software app such that the end-user can use an administrative tool to modify the interface/forms, add fields, change field names, move things around on the form, change colors, etc. -- without needing the Oracle Developer tool used by the original software developer, along with source code?
Here's my original email from a few months ago:
Our VP of marketing has been on my case about the ability to allow customers to "map" a form label (prompt) to a "custom" label of their choosing. The only way I know to do this is to create a "mapping" table and each time a form opens have code in the Post-Query trigger that changes the prompt of each column to the label that is in the "mapper" table. My fear here is Performance. Also, if the user closes that form and comes back to it - that logic has to be executed again - once again Performance. We have thought about the global variable idea, but we have over 100 tables with approx. 20 columns each. That's alot of globals to carry around. What's the overhead of carring around let's say 150 global variables?
My questions to all of you are:
1) Is anyone else doing this exact thing?
2) If so, what is the performance hit?
3) Is there a way to "remember" after the first time it paints - until the application is closed (not just that form) - other than global variables?
4) Is there a solution already in place within Forms for this?
5) Is there newer technology that has overcome this problem?
My VP doesn't like the mapping idea. He wants to know isn't there a better way instead of mapping all the fields. Isn't there some simple utility provided by Oracle that allows the user to simply change the form labels (no, he's not talking about Oracle Developer). He is a real Outlook nut. So he's always comparing everything to how Outlook works. This is how it works in Outlook -- you click on Design Form, modify it, then install it on the machine. Surely Oracle must have something like this. He thinks we're asking the wrong question or not asking it in the right way. I'm not sure how else to ask it. Our users want to see "Date of Birth" spelled out instead of "DOB" as the label for a column on a form. Is there a way for them to take the fmx and change that label? Is there a better way other than storing this in a table and querying it up each time the form opens? Yes, I could use a global so I don't have to query it from the database every time, but I still have to evaluate every time the form is opened during that session to see which label I need to use and then set the prompt accordingly. Our VP doesn't like this, he wants this to be a one time change.

I would go with a lookup table. If your database is responsive and you index the table by form name, you can retrieve a number of rows and setup the screen quickly enough that nobody would notice any time lag.
If there aren't too many titles stored in the form, you could use a PLL library procedure and stuff all of them into a few globals -- just stack them into a single string separated by an odd character, like maybe chr(3). Then when the form is called again, it could first check to see if the globals exist, and parse the titles from there.
But be careful about changing field titles. If they change DOB to Date of Birth, the length changes, and so you need to determine where the extra length goes. The title field must be wide enough and the text justification should be set properly. -

[POL-3253] group file already exists
I am using Oracle Lite 8. I have created a view that returns all records from a table with the related data from other tables. Whenever I use this view in a query, adding a where clause with a date range, I get the above mentioned error. This only happens when the database is open in another application. If I use the view in a query without a where clause, it works fine, but I get more data than I want to view. The view is shown below.

Instead of using the default repository, I tried to log-in to a database on the local NT machine to recreate a new repository. Everything went fine afterwards.
We're all set for now but it would be nice to find out what happened to the default repository. Thank you. -

I´m in a upgrade from version 4.6C to 6.0, and i'm checking the bases of costing sheet because i can´t calculate overhead. The group of cost elements appears in the selection list, but when i want to assign it the system says: "group does not exist"!!! but this is not true, it exists in the system.

Have gone thru FAQs and examples. (And also 4 parts of 'Creating a Report in Microsoft Excel Using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit'. Unfortunately this document is not clear enough for me.)
Have task of modifying rows of the same excel sheet, number of times without touching data already present (numbers and strings)
I have an excel file. (attached)
A test will be run N number of times. (N<=17)
SubTask 1 --> Each time it runs, string data needs to be placed in 'n'th row. (...there are going to be notes in Row 18 and row 19)
SubTask 2 --> Each time it runs, a 1D array data also will be placed in the same row (but in different cells)
SubTask 3 --> The number 'n' of the row (where to place the current iteration's data) needs to be determined on fly (by looking at "n-1"st non blank row)
The same file needs to be used.
How can above be achieved ?

How to create a Group from an existing email -
I just want to create a Group from an existing email received. Don't want to add people individually to Address Book, then drag them to the Group. Would prefer to copy/paste the addresses into the Group. I'm part of a team at work wth 25 people! Do I really have to add their addresses individually? Seems ridiculous. Don't even need their names - just the emails, so when I type in "United," for example, I get all the folks in that Group which is named "United."

There is no way in the OS to do that besides making the Applescript yourself using the current Script Editor.
Another way to do what you want is to select all of the addresses (select one, then cmd-A). Then, drag the selection to somewhere in the Finder. That will create a text clipping. You can then drag that text clipping into the address field in Mail.
The text clipping will be named with the first few email addresses. You can rename it in the Finder.
Each one can be your own "distribution" list. -
Adding a field in an field group in an existing infoset(ADHOC query)

I have an infoset which contains different field group's in the form of infotypes.i have a requirement to add a field in to one of the field group's.
When i see sq02 trasaction,i can change the field group for my infoset,but i don't have any option to add a field to that field group in the infoset.(I can only delete/change a field).
Can any one tell me,how to add a field to the field group in an existing infoset.
Any help in this regard wud be appreciated.Hi,
In SQ02, select the infoset in change mode, you wil see Data fields in left hand side & Field Group in right hand side. select your field which u want to add from the Data field, drag & drop in the field group.
If your field is not there in any of Data field, then create additional field & then drag-drop in the field group.

back literally "<B>Back</B>" in the rendered browser text (meaning the HTML
source is "<B&rt;Back</B&rt;"). If so, it's because you need to set
the "escape" attribute to false for the text field:

Why does my ipad2 flip pages without touching screen?
My ipad2 has issues with turning pages without touching the screen. Sometimes it happens in iBooks. It does not do it all the time. I did a reset and sold it to a friend. The iPad started crashing and acting crazy shortly after he did his transfer. What could be the problem?

We have a daily process that converts MS Access 97 to Oracle using Migration Workbench. This has been working fine until we got the following error from the error.log file:
EXCEPTION :LoggingImpl._writeLog java.sql.SQLException: [POL-4202] can't update while select is active in read-committed mode
EXCEPTION : LoadTableData.run() : [POL-3253] group file already exists
Is there any site that I can look up this error message or can somebody please tell me what this meant? Thanks.
