Without touching the JSP file

Hi,
I just want to set a text in my browser with bold face from my
begin....Display method. say <B>Back></B>.
Since i decalare this as a text and using .setvalue() i'm getting it
as it is(i.e <B>back</B> in browser o/p.
Can u suggest me the solution ?
Todd, thanks for ur previous suggestion.
Thanks and Regards,
Vidyasankar.

I'm not sure, but I assume what you're indicating is that you're getting
back literally "<B>Back</B>" in the rendered browser text (meaning the HTML
source is "<B&rt;Back</B&rt;"). If so, it's because you need to set
the "escape" attribute to false for the text field:
<jato:text name="FooText" escape="false"/>

    Okay, I didnt try with the trinidad selectmanyshuttle, but this worked for me on the af:selectmanyshuttle..
            <af:selectManyShuttle label="Label 1" styleClass="mycustcss">
              <af:selectItem label="Label1" value="value1"/>
              <af:selectItem label="Label2" value="value2"/>
            </af:selectManyShuttle>
            <af:selectManyShuttle label="Label 1">
              <af:selectItem label="Label1" value="value1"/>
              <af:selectItem label="Label2" value="value2"/>
            </af:selectManyShuttle>        And in my css file, I have
    af|selectManyShuttle.mycustcss::content { width: 800.0px;}
    The first selectManyShuttle came up very wide and the second one came up in the default width..

  • Displaying XML content in the browser without creating the XML file

    Hi,
    In my web application, i am getting the data from the database and generating an XML file based on that. This file is created, read and its content is displayed in the browser when the user clicks a specific link on the jsp.
    As per the new requirement, i am not supposed to generate the XML file. Instead when the user clicks on the specific link on the jsp, the XML should get displayed in the browser directly without generating the XML file.
    Can someone plz help me in how to do this?
    Moreover, this XML generation application should support multiple clients. Do i need to make my application thread-safe explicitly even though i am using a servlet to do this?
    Please suggest
    Thanx

    An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.  Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

  • Unable to load the '.jsp' file

    Hi all,
              We use Weblogic 8.1 sp3 and are devloping a struts based application.
              I have deployed my 'ear' file (containing a '.war' and a '.jar' file). We use struts. Our '.war' file, contains the pre-compiled 'jsp' classes (we have changed our web.xml to indicate that we are using pre-compiled jsps. I can show my web.xml file if you need).
              When I click on my 'submit' button, I see that my action class has been invoked and it's spitting out messages to the stdout. Everything looks fine. But, when it is trying to load the '.jsp', I get the following error.

  • How can i access the jsp file in a asp file

    Hi every one..

    now i want to include a jsp file from one project to ASP file in the other project.

    thanx in advance.

    Wouldn't that be an ASP question for an ASP forum?

  • What to import in the JSP file??

    I want to use jsp and xsl to convert xml to html in order to display the file. But I come across a problem, I don't what should be import into the jsp file. Should I import these? <%@ page import="org.xml.sax.*" %>
    <%@ page import="org.apache.xalan.xslt.*" %>
    Since I'm not very good at this field, can anybody give me some suggestion to hlep me to work it out?
    thanks~

    One thing is sure. Whatever the classes you are going to use, need to be imported in your Jsp.
    There is no need for different import statements. You can write in a single import statement (comma separated).
    So, forget about the import statements and do your coding, finally you can look at the code and decide what classes (packages) you need to import.
    I think you need to import
    org.xml.sax.*;
    org.xml.sax.helpers.*;
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way to access my iTunes Library, which is stored on a (PC) External Hard Drive, on a MacBook Air (through an Apricorn Universal Hard Drive Adapter), without transferring the music files off of the external hard drive?

    Is there a way to access my iTunes Library, which is stored on a (PC) External Hard Drive, on a MacBook Air (through an Apricorn Universal Hard Drive Adapter), without transferring the music files off of the external hard drive?
    In other words, because the MacBook Air only has 120 gbs of hard drive space & my old hard drive, from a Lenovo, has 500 gbs of hard drive space (and I have over 120 gbs of music), I’m looking to manage my iTunes music from the external hard drive permanently. Upon attempting to access the iTunes library held on the external hard drive the following message comes up: “The iTunes Library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file”.  Is there a way to get around this?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

    You will have to engage a split library which means you will have to start answering questions on this forum because you will need to learn a lot about how iTunes works in order not that have a big mess at the end of it all.  It also won't be easy when the time comes to relocate it all to different drives.
    You can go to advanced preferences and turn off organize media and copy to items to media folder when adding items to library.  Next read about how to selectively consolidate items to the external drive.
    Sept. 2010, Consolidate selected content - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2589812 and April 2014, https://discussions.apple.com/message/25414357
    "...selected the new tracks directly in iTunes, Control-clicked on the selection, and saw that now you can consolidate selected items." - http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20090919000326840
    Remember that when you start iTunes without the external drive turned on iTunes will present you with a bunch of broken links.  If you have automatic downloads enabled with iCloud you may have to turn that off to prevent iTunes from repopulating your drive trying to deal with those "missing" tracks.
    If you add tracks in bunches to iTunes and want them to go to different media folders you will need to either add them by holding down the option key while dragging if the desired media folder is not the one set in preferences, or by changing the media folder in preferences.  Changing media folder preferences only applies to new files added, not old ones.
    Okay, I am going to stop typing because you might just reply to me, "Oh, okay, forget it," and I don't need the exercise.

  • Accessing my own class members from the JSP file

    Hi,
    I have created a class by name simple.java.and the package structure is like sridhar.source.useful.In this package i placed my file simple.java.
    Now i import this file with the import statement in JSP like
    <%@ import = "sridhar.source.useful.*" %>
    Now from the JSP file i want to execute some of the methods in simple.java.
    I tried this one by importing the simple.java in my JSP file,but i am getting some errors:
    variables that i have declared in Java files are not defined.
    The JSP is not importing the class simple.java
    I am executing my JSP in weblogic6.1(webserver is IPlanet)
    shall i need to set any classpath for this in the weblogic shell script??
    pls clarify me if any configuration is to be made or not??
    regards
    Naidu

    For JSP with IPlanet/weblogic and imported custom classes:
    Put your class / package in the correct folder. $path is any path you want....
    Ex: package foo, class foorbar must be
    $path/foo/foobar.class
    All classes must be .class, not .jar.
    Weblogic/IPlanet must be configured to have the CLASSPATH
    $path/
    (do not include foo/foobar!)
    The JSP has
    <%@ import "foo.*" %>
    Your class may now be used just like the other imported classes. Say you have an object Foobar with a constructor, you can just say
    Foobar myFoo = new Foobar();
    I do this with my classes, so if you have any questions, just ask.

  • Configuring weblogic 8.1 to hide the jsp file name to be displayed

    Hi,
              I am having problem with configuring weblogic 8.1 to display the jsp file name in the address bar. Please have a look at this link for a description of my problem
              http://theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=28381
              Any help would be great.
              Thanks
              Uma

    You should use a controller servlet which forwards to the correct JSP. Then the JSP name is not displayed in the address bar.
              With 8.1 you simply could use a Java pageflow to link several JSPs.
              Generated URLs in the browser will look like
              http://localhost:7001/sampleportal/newpageflow1/test.do;jsessionid=BFssBfmdv4Ly1GDG7gJNZH1d3s2ShJG2qpG4KJJMVvSf0JdyG2nQ!1118879021

    Hi,
    I have a custom request to add a new table on the page of that url from a custom query. I tried to make changes activating the FND_CUSTOM_OA_DEFINTION's profile, and enter to the 'Personalize Page' link, but on this opcion I couldn't find the way to enter a new query. Now I try to customized directy the jsp file and add a new table on that region asociated with custom query.
    I also try with the AK Developer responsability but I got the following error when I try to open the page "No data found for region (/oracle/apps/pos/regionMap/POS_CUSTOM_IMP)" where "POS_CUSTOM_IMP" is a new region that I created with the AK Developer responsability.
    Thanx,

  • Customize interface without touching the source code

    My VP of of marketing is at it again. I have pasted in the exact email that he sent me. If anyone has ideas or suggestions or knows if Forms 9i has this built-in capability, please let me know.
    Thanks.
    Can you post this on metalink and see if someone at Oracle (or elsewhere) has an answer for us? Somehow, other LIMS developers are distributing LIMS products that allow their users to customize the interface without touching the source code -- no impact on their ability to take new releases. How do they do that?
    Here's my question:
    Anyone familiar with the Tools / Forms / Design this Form feature in MS Outlook? This allows a mere mortal to actually create and publish a custom Outlook form (could be a Contact, Task, Note, Journal, etc. form) across the organization. Is there such a capability built into Oracle9i Forms? In other words, can a developer easily build and distribute an Oracle software app such that the end-user can use an administrative tool to modify the interface/forms, add fields, change field names, move things around on the form, change colors, etc. -- without needing the Oracle Developer tool used by the original software developer, along with source code?
    Here's my original email from a few months ago:
    Our VP of marketing has been on my case about the ability to allow customers to "map" a form label (prompt) to a "custom" label of their choosing. The only way I know to do this is to create a "mapping" table and each time a form opens have code in the Post-Query trigger that changes the prompt of each column to the label that is in the "mapper" table. My fear here is Performance. Also, if the user closes that form and comes back to it - that logic has to be executed again - once again Performance. We have thought about the global variable idea, but we have over 100 tables with approx. 20 columns each. That's alot of globals to carry around. What's the overhead of carring around let's say 150 global variables?
    My questions to all of you are:
    1) Is anyone else doing this exact thing?
    2) If so, what is the performance hit?
    3) Is there a way to "remember" after the first time it paints - until the application is closed (not just that form) - other than global variables?
    4) Is there a solution already in place within Forms for this?
    5) Is there newer technology that has overcome this problem?
    My VP doesn't like the mapping idea. He wants to know isn't there a better way instead of mapping all the fields. Isn't there some simple utility provided by Oracle that allows the user to simply change the form labels (no, he's not talking about Oracle Developer). He is a real Outlook nut. So he's always comparing everything to how Outlook works. This is how it works in Outlook -- you click on Design Form, modify it, then install it on the machine. Surely Oracle must have something like this. He thinks we're asking the wrong question or not asking it in the right way. I'm not sure how else to ask it. Our users want to see "Date of Birth" spelled out instead of "DOB" as the label for a column on a form. Is there a way for them to take the fmx and change that label? Is there a better way other than storing this in a table and querying it up each time the form opens? Yes, I could use a global so I don't have to query it from the database every time, but I still have to evaluate every time the form is opened during that session to see which label I need to use and then set the prompt accordingly. Our VP doesn't like this, he wants this to be a one time change.
    Thanks so much for you help,
    Tina

    Hmmm.... either your VP of marketing or the users have too much time on their hands. ;-)
    I would go with a lookup table. If your database is responsive and you index the table by form name, you can retrieve a number of rows and setup the screen quickly enough that nobody would notice any time lag.
    If there aren't too many titles stored in the form, you could use a PLL library procedure and stuff all of them into a few globals -- just stack them into a single string separated by an odd character, like maybe chr(3). Then when the form is called again, it could first check to see if the globals exist, and parse the titles from there.
    But be careful about changing field titles. If they change DOB to Date of Birth, the length changes, and so you need to determine where the extra length goes. The title field must be wide enough and the text justification should be set properly.
