Enhancing ZIC_C03 InfoCube..

Hello Gurus,
If any of you have installed the Business Content InfoCube 0IC_C03, can you please copy/paste the code that you have in the Update Rule between 2LIS_03_BF & 0IC_C03 for the following Objects:
0RECQMSTCK [Receipt Quantity: Stock in Quality Inspection]
0ISSQMSTCK [Issue quantity: stock in quality inspection]
0RECCNSSTCK [Quantity Received into Consignment Stock]
0ISSCNSSTCK [Quantity Issued from Consignment Stock]
The business have requested to add the 'Quantity Stock' & 'Stock at Vendor' to our customized InfoCube ZIC_C03, which does not have those fields. So I need to Install 0QMSTOCK [Stock in Quality Inspection] & 0CNSSTCKQTY [Consignment Stock] and the 'Inflow' & 'Outflow' objects [mentioned above] for these from Business Content.
WHile enhancing the InfoCube ZIC_C03 with these Objects, is it enough to change only the Update Rule from 2LIS_03_BF by adding these objects? Or do I need to modify the Update Rule for 2LIS_03_UM as well?

As per my understanding in BF(Material Movments) data source extracts the material movements that is stock and stock values.
In UM (revaluations) extracts only the values. that means once the material is posted to finance that document is not allowed to change in stiock but only value of that material.
So there will not be change required here in UM transfer rules or update rules .

Hi Rajasheker,
Without knowing the exact scenario it is hard to give you an answer but I hope the following broad guidelines might help you.
1) There must be some thing in common or it may be a case of wrong architecture/missing buseness requirements. Identify the relationship between these two.
2) Or, do they have a 100% parallel relationship by design? In this casse you need to create a high level common object (dummy) to facilitate the consolidatation process (for example company code or worst scheario sys-id) and enhance both cube as well as ODS.
3) Or, if it is a complex situation: Introduce a new object which can build a bridge between these two. Ask the business about the rules.
If it doesn't help, pl give more details.

Hi BW Experts,
I have developed the report in Bex.
The data in ODS is specified below.

Currently in my report,i have given the filter as Act_Status =A.So in report, it will display one record.
But in report layout they are asking to display the date when the service order is closed with the Current Active Status record alone.
So i want to display the data in this format.
Ser_No_____Status____Act_Status_________Closed_Date
000001______Pending____A________________12-SEPT-2009
Instead of displaying 13th sept i want to display 12th sept in my report for the field Closed_date.
Do i need to write any Customer Exit and Populate the data for this field alone.
Can u please help on this issue. If possible, pls provide a code also.

Hi Jelina,
Its easier to achive this feature manipulating the cube rather going for customer exit using the formula variable.
enhance the infocube and code for these fields in start routine or characteristic routine.
if u want to code the requirement in bex only you have to create two variables one for replacement path and other customer exit both in formula variable mode.
replacement path variable for service order and customer exit for date.
only limitation would be you have to show the date in key figures column.
i can explain you further based on your inputs.

Enhance the existing infocube

Hi all,
I got a requirement to enhance the existing info cube. That cube is loading the last 4 years data. Now we want to add(enhance) two more fields. Then how to enhance that cube with out distrurbing the four years data with the new two fileds. Can anyone come across this situation please assist me.

I would say it is a very common thing to experience that the world changes...
I often meet confusion on the subject in data warehousing. In contrast to OLTP changes may take effect without thinking too much about history. In DW environments however, it is important to have a clear picture of handling changes. The basic rule for handling changes is in my opinion, that the change can take effect for the future only. I think most people would aggree that changing history is problematic...just see what happened in "Back to the future" :-).
This general line of thinking will save You a lot of trouble reloading Your Data Warehouse and Data Marts. Of course there will be situation in which a change must take effect for historical data such as errors found in productive enviroments, but the basic rule must be not to reload when it comes to changes in the functional requirements. After this very general advice I will add a more concrete advice:-) If You have high volume cube You need to plan for the dictionary changes during release of Your changes to production as it may need massive space for roll back during the DDIC change of the facttables and dimensiontables.

Can'n see the attributes in InfoCube

hi, all,
I loaded the master data and texts of the InfoObject 0PM_ORDER and I can see them in administrator work bench. I also loaded transactional data in the InfoCube 0PM_C01. But, when displa the data in the InfoCube, all the fields of the attributes to 0PM_ORDER are empty.
I also enhanced the structure of the InfoCube, icluding two characteristics (0EQUIPMENT and 0FUNCT_LOC). They both are nav. attributes to 0PM_ORDER. So I maintened the update rules - the two new char have to be filled by the attrubutes of 0PM_ORDER. But, it doesn't work.
Has any one any idea?

hi Neven,
this is common things that we forget to do ...
you can schedule this in background job - daily (after all master data loaded) - from the same menu.
or if you use process chain, you can include the process after all master data uploaded.

Unable to load the data from PSA to INFOCUBE

Hi BI Experts, good afternoon.
    I am loading 3 years data( Full load ) from R/3 to Infocube.
   So loaded the data by monthwise. So i created 36 info packages.
Everything is fine. But i got a error in Jan 2005 and Mar 2005. It is the same error in both months. That is Caller 01and caller 02 errors( Means invalid characteristics are there PSA data )
So i deleted both PSA and Data target Requests and again i loaded the data only to PSA.
Here i got data in PSA without fail.
Then i tried to load the data from PSA to Infocube MANUALLY.
But its not happening.
One message came this
       SID 60,758 is smaller than the compress SID of cube ZIC_C03; no        request booking.
   Please give me the solution how to solve this problem.

Enhancement not getting reflected in Info Cube

I have made enhancement for getting additional data in the InfoCube 0SD_C03 fro data source 2LIS_13_VDITM .I have made changes in Communication Structure and transfer structure as well . But i am getting the required data in the psa and addition fields are not getting reflected in the infocube . Please suggest me a solution .

Hi,
You have to map the Rules in two Transformations. One for DataSourec to InfoSource and InfoSource to Cube.
Confirm that you entered all the infoobjects and those compound objects too into the cube, Don't forget to map compound objects in transformation rules. Activate every single object individually.
Did you create DTP for cube? In BI 7.0 for InfoPackage by default "psa only".

BW Report Enhancement

Please helpme with this enhancement. I was working as an end user, but moved into development on shortage of staff with no training.
But I do understand somethings, like creating cubes, report generation and etc but please help me with the below. Step by step is greatly appreciated.
The user wants the counts grouped by month in each column. I think we need cal month as a time dimension to do this.
Assigned BW-PM ticket will allow to group activity counts by activity month in your report (currently we only have activity date in the InfoCube). She wants the month across the top, and a count in the key figures.
User needs to group activity counts by activity month in PM IC, but the user needs to see the count by month and only activity date is in the IC). We have a field in the IC for Activity Date, and counts for activities. We want to create a new field called Activity Month so she can group the counts by month. I couldnt come up with a way to do this in the query, so if you can, please do let me know.

Field population after ds enhancement.

Dear gurus,
I enhanced sales data source by adding 3 fields from database tables of different application component.
I write the code to populate the fields by using enhancement rsap0001.
Every thing is fine from r3 side
in the bw system previously i have data in my cube
how can i add fields and populate the fields in the cube if
the cube has already data in it.
i want to populate the fields with the previous values also
how can i achieve this.

Hi,
Remodeling is one of the good feature in BI.
This helps in remodeling your Infoprovider, when its filled with data.
You can add characteristics and key figures in BW 3.5 without deleting data in the infocube, but you can't remove them without deleting all data first.
Deleting data is also needed when you change dimensions.
If you dont need any history data you can just add the keyfigure in Edit Mode.The corrresponding update rules may get deactivated and you may have to reactivate them again.

Unable to consolidate data from two DSOs into an InfoCube for reporting.

I am working on BW 7.0 to create BEx Report as below:
This report will have data coming from two different sources, some data from COPA DSO [such as Customer Number, Product Hierarchy1, Product Hierarchy2, Product Hierarchy3, Product Hierarchy4. Product Hierarchy5, Product Hierarchy6 and a few other Key Figures] and the rest [such as Product Hierarchy, Reference Document, Condition Type (both Active & Inactive), Condition Value and a few other Key Figures] from another DSO (ZSD_DS18) which is a copy of the BCT DSO (0SD_O06). I've chosen this DSO because this is the BCT DSO which is used to store data from a Standard Extractor 2LIS_13_VDKON.
Below are the screenshots of these 2 DSOs:
I have successfully extracted the data from 2LIS_13_VDKON (includes PROD_HIER but not Customer Number) and loaded into a DSO (ZSD_D17).
All the testing is done using only one Sales Document No (VBELN).
First test that I tried is.. to create an Infocube and loaded data from ZCOPA_01 and ZSD_DS18 and when the LISTCUBE was run on this InfoCube, the data is coming up in two different lines which is not very meaningful. Screenshot below:
Therefore, I have created another DSO (ZSD_DS17) to Consolidate the data from ZCOPA_01 & ZSD_DS18 establishing mappings between some of common Chars such as below:
ZCOPA_01                    ZSD_DS18
0REFER_DOC <->        0BILL_NUM
0REFER_ITM    <->        0BILL_ITEM
0ME_ORDER    <->        0DOC_NUMBER
0ME_ITEM        <->        0S_ORD_ITEM
51 records are loaded from ZSD_DS18 into ZSD_DS17 and 4 records are loaded from ZCOPA_01 into ZSD_DS17 for a particular Sales Document Number.
When I am using a Write-Optimized DSO, data is coming in just 1 line but it is showing only 4 lines which is aggregated which is as expected since W/O DSO aggregates the data. However, when I use Standard DSO, the data is again splitting up into many lines.
Is there something that I am missing in here while designing the Data Model or does this call for some ABAP being done, if so, where or should I have to talk to the Functional Lead and then Enhance the Standard Extractor, and even if I do that, I would still have to bring in those Key Figures from ZCOPA_01 for my reporting?

in your (current) InfoCube setup, you could work with "constant selection" on the key figures
for the COPA key figures, you'll need to add product hierarchy to the key figures with a selection of # and constant selection flagged
for the SD key figures, you'll have to do the same for customer & the product hierarchy levels (instead of product hierarchy)

BI-IP with WAD using enhanced SAVE_DATA command. It is possible?

I have a BI-IP Planning application based on WAD and deployed in WEB. My customer is asking to add some enhanced functionality to the SAVE button (SAVE_DATA command in WAD). The basic idea here is to extend forward for a simple validation procedure just before save data into the planning infocube.
The validation consists just in make a single arithmetic sum by testing 100% for the weekly contribution percentages (input ready). I mean (weeks) W1, W2, W3, W4 for a month. Percentages entries given by user are 25, 25, 25, 30.
IF SUM(Wi) > 100 THEN ERROR (dont let to save data)
ELSE THEN SUCCESS (let to save data).
At the same time, this kind of validation allows to add some basic rule to don't exceed the contribution margin for the immediate upper level...
It is possible to do this? Any experienced comments doing this? any user_exit or enhancenments?

1) Create the aggregation top-down level for sales units WEEKLY contributions (percentage).
2) No filter used.
3) Create the TYPE Formula Planning Function: VALIDATE CONTRIBUTIONS with condition 0VERSION = Plan/Active and Sales Route = ZVAR_ROUTE.
4) Add the FOX Code to the formula as follows:
FTBCH -> {KF, 0CALMONTH, 0CALWEEK, 0VOLUMEUNIT}.
DATA CURRPER TYPE 0CALMONTH.
DATA PERIOD TYPE 0CALMONTH.
DATA CALWEEK TYPE 0CALWEEK.
DATA NVALIDA TYPE F.
NVALIDA = 0.
CURRPER = VARV('ZIPM_MTHPLAN').
FOREACH PERIOD, CALWEEK.
IF PERIOD = CURRPER.
NVALIDA = NVALIDA + {ZIP_CONT, PERIOD, CALWEEK, HL}.
ENDIF.
ENDFOR.
IF NVALIDA <> 100.

This basically performs for each PERIOD and CALWEEK an accumulated value in order to summarize the user data entry values. So IF validation is different 100% then will raise a message error direct to the end user interfase and stops the program logic otherwise continues with success.
5) Build your ready-input query and WAD template as required and then put some web items like Data Provider, Analysis, SAVE / REFRESH and CANCEL button group.
6) Go to the button group properties and select SAVE Command configuration then go to ACTION -> Command and hit the button NEXT COMMAND.
7) At the EDIT COMMAND LIST screen insert a new command VALIDATION and add your new planning function (VALIDATE CONTRIBUTIONS). By default you can see the SAVE_DATA command already there. You can execute process chains, standard and custom planning functions, planning sequences, etc ,etc....for this case when the SAVE_DATA command executes but you can also create your own commands and use it as well.
8) Execute your WAD application from the URL web and test it.
