Enter Network Password Pop up - Outlook 2007

I keep getting the little box popping up asking me to enter my network password in Outlook 2007 (we are on BT infinity). I have four email accounts, which are all BT ones and they all come into the same inbox but two of the accounts get these popups regularly (every 2 or 3 minutes) and it is driving me mad. The other two get them but much more rarely (probably less than once a day). I have gone through all the settings for all accounts and everything appears to be the same. I have logged into all the accounts on Yahoo and can access everything absolutely fine so i know the password is ok.  Is there anything else I can try to stop them popping up?

I also am experiencing the same isues, i have spoken with customer support who tell me the problem is with Outlook! Funny it has only started being a problem since the recent server upgrade?  I realy am feeling let down by BT's customer service level since this is a widspread issue.  All they need to do is admit there is a problem and pledge to fix it ASAP, once this has been established i can endure the inconvenience till then.

  • Keep getting a message to enter network password-won't go away.

I don't know if this is a mozilla problem, a windows problem, or a gmail problem. I just know that for the first time today, and in a span of 20 minutes, it has popped up on my screen 60 times. Annoying. I keep putting passwords in it, but none of them work. Top says Enter Network Password. Server smtp.gmail.com. Then User Name which is jennyjank, password, then save this password in your password list. Then it gives me an option to hit OK or Cancel. I keep canceling and closing, but it just keeps coming back. Help, please. Thanks - Jennifer

    Hi jennyjank,
It sounds like there is a persistent network check somewhere. Is this happening only in webmail?
Do you use a firewall or an antivirus that has a filter for gmail smtp servers?
Please also try noscript or ad block plus to detect if there is a script on the page you can stop temporarily until the source is found.
If it a windows operating systems issue try changing this network option mentioned in the answer to the post here: [http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/windows-7-asks-enter-network-password-when/2a8e6d6f-74a1-43c7-8530-24e8522ea955]

  • Enter Network Password/Windows Installer

    Hi
We are having problems with Macromedia Contribute 3 and I was wondering if anyone could help.  Please note that I am still in the "infancy stage" of computer literacy so patience is requested!!
First issue - I keep getting the box "enter network password". I try to do so, and it keeps coming back up. CONSTANTLY. I thought until recently that it had to do with our email program, but was informed by my internet provider that it is for our website. How do I make this box go away and STAY away?
Second Issue - When I try to right click on a file or document, I get the box "Windows Installer" and the message "Please wait while windows configures Macromedia Contritbute ". I hit "cancel" and then get "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD ROM or other removable disck that is not available. Insert the Macromedia Contribute 3 disck and click ok" (I do not have this disk). Then I get "error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Macromedia Contricute 3. The Windows Installer cannot continue".
    Can anhone help????

    Hi,
Please try to enable the following security policies to check the result:
    1. Enter “gpedit.msc” in the Start Search box.
    2. Open “Computer Configuration”/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Settings.
    3. In the right pane, enable the following policies:
Network access: Allow anonymous SID/name translation
Network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users
Meanwhile, just for test, check the NTML settings:
Click the start button and type secpol.msc in the search function.
Browse to "Local Policies" -> "Security Options".
Now look for the entry "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" and open it.
Click on the dropdown menu and select "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated".
    Apply the settings.

  • 'Enter Network Password'

    Good afternoon
I have an @btinternet.com email address set up in Outlook 2007 on Windows XP - trying to send mail using the settings described in this article and I'm constantly getting a box pop up asking for my Network Password.  I have entered the password correctly (I know as I'm able to log in to the webmail/Yahoomail).
How do I stop this happening??  It is REALLY annoying!  Emails are eventually sent after clicking 'OK' about 5-10 times...........
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks - my settings now look like this, with the 'Outgoing Server' tab having 'My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication' option ticked.
Correct?  Coz it still aint working!  In fact won't send at all - just says that the operation timed out waiting for a response from the server!
Any other ideas or have I got it wrong still?

  • Constant Password Prompting in Outlook

    Hello,
I use outlook for my work email with a POP3 account through hosting.com. When I have my iPhone set to check my work account as well, and I have outlook open- I frequently (every few minutes) get an "Enter Network Password" prompt on outlook. Is there anyway to fix this? It's really annoying. I have resulted to forwarding my work email to a Yahoo! account that my iPhone is attached to- though this is a pain as I don't want to reply to my clients from a Yahoo! domain- I need to reply to them from my company's domain.
    suggestions?
    John

I have set Outlook to only check for email once every 15 minutes. Before it was set to check every 3. My iPhone is now also set to check once every 15 minutes. The problem no longer arises. I think it might be that the mail server was getting to many log-in queries. regardless, changing this option has eliminated the problem (at least for the last 3 hours).
    cheers!

  • Outlook 2007 and 2010 on Windows XP keeps asking for password

I have a fresh installation of Exchange 2013 installed on Windows 2012 and the problem is that Outlook 2007 and 2010 which is installed on Windows XP keeps asking for password.
The problem occurs only on Windows XP while on Windows 7 is working fine.
    Any help will be appreciated!

    Hello
I had similar issue in my environment  -Exchange 2010 SP2 UR4-v2 ,DAG 2 MBX servers(MBX1 and MBX2) in production site ,2 CAS in production site ,17 mail box databases , Public folder replicated to all the mailbox servers.
strangely users using outlook 2003 and outlook 2007 were being prompted for user name passwords.
    investigations were done as follows
    1. test connection status -click on the outlook icon in the lower right of the users desktop.clicked on test connection status ..
    2. found that the username was being prompted while attempting to connect to the public folder in MBX1 server.
    3. using EMC on the exchange server, changed databases pointing to public folder in MBX1 to public folder in MBX2.  This solved the issue for us.however we were not sure of what the exact issue was ..was it public folder corruption in MBX1? .we found
that the users were being prompted for username and password only in outlook 2007 and not in OWA or outlook 2010. this made us rule out possibility of Public folder corruption in MBX1 server.
4.raised a case with microsoft to do a RCA (root cause analysis) . The resolution from them was to change the exchange RPC service on MBX1 from "network service" to  "local account" and switch back to "network service".
The reason stated by microsoft is "password cache corruption" .Any ways the problem was solved at the server level.
Hope this helps all of you who have been scratching your head over this issue
    Shiva

  • Problems with Sync iPod Touch with MS Outlook 2007 Calendar

I've seen oodles of complaints in this area, I'm thinking Apple isn't ready for prime time with "Calendar"
I have a 10 year old palm pilot, that has been syncing a MS-outlook calendar for work, and one from home, and it allows me to have a PDA with an accurate calendar. The work computer is typically newer (Windows 7, Outlook 2007), the home computer is typically older (XP, Outlook 2001). But changes between the two have happened over the years, and the Palm faithfully keeps on Syncing the two. I only want one calendar to see all my life's activities (work meetings, kid's dentist appointments, wife's sewing groups, going out with friends, etc.)
Did I mention my palm is 10 years old? I purchased an iPod Touch last week, and I knew in advance it would force me to install iTunes (so both are new).
While the ipod touch has wonderful things on it (I've jumped 10 years in technology), I need a mobile PDA with an "accurate" calendar. Note the word Accurate.
After Syncing, I see some recurring entries on time, some recurring entries out by an hour, some recurring entries that were deleted on my computer, still there in the ipod.
I've read that sometimes when you do a change (just to the content) of a recurring item, it can change the time of the calendar entry
I've read that there are known bugs in deleted recurring entries, still appearing.
While my Palm Pilot was not perfect, it handled those situations.
From ideas I've read, I've reset my backup in iTunes, I've emptied my outlook calendar, synced it empty to ipod, imported my outlook calendar back, and synced it to ipod forcing it to "overwrite", but problem entries still remains.
I've read some people say they no longer use recurring entries. Not an option for me. If I have a client for a year that wants to meet every Tuesday at 2:00 pm, but oh, I can't July 13, he can't October 19, how am I supposed to remember on those future dates, that the PDA while saying there is a meeting, there really isn't one?
How do I go about with the entries out by an hour. Show up for every meeting one hour early, in case my PDA is wrong. Not acceptable.
I've played with both date settings on the ipod (one is the ipod date, one is the calendar date). And both settings on my computer (calendar time zone and computer time zone). My computer has a DST switch, ipod does not. I'm really begining to hate DST both on the impact it has for a human body to switch, but also all the crap it causes in a more and more and more technologically connected world. But I have to rely on a city selection choice, that ipod knows if it goes with DST or not??? I don't really trust Apple on that one, sorry, it seems they've not latched on to the concept of time correctly. So I don't trust their DST on or off decisions, that I can't tell if they've done or not. I can't find any GMT time zones, I can find UTC, but no number is beside it (I want to choose my offset number of the time zone I'm in).
While I like many kewl Apps the ipod touch has, the bottom line is, I need a PDA with a calendar. And I need a calendar that is accurate. And I don't want to enter 48 entries manaully in outlook 2007, when I can enter 52 with just one recurring effort, and delete 2 that don't work on a specific future day.
I don't want to arrive an hour early for a meeting, cause I can't trust if calendar entry is correct or out by an hour.
How can I tell if DST is on or off on the iPod (I do business monthly in an area that does not do DST). Playing around with time settings in my iPod to try to get most calendar items accurate with their time, but after a sync, it changes my time zone on the iPod to Phoenix. And I normally have it set to Calgary. I know Calgary is MST (with DST), but what is Phoenix? Why should I have to look up what time zone they are in, or do they do DST? Why does my ipod time zone change after a Sync!!!
I'm a small business owner, but if Apple is not ready for Prime time, someone please tell me. I have a 10 year old son who wants my new ipod toy, and I'm starting to feel it is only that, a toy, not yet ready for business.
Thank you for reading thus far

I can't understand this question, can you clarify?
By 'put a CD into itunes' did you mean you were viewing a CD in itunes or you had imported the tracks from the CD into your itunes library?
On what screen were you seeing 'no sync high lighted' and what does that mean?
Do you sync your entire library automatically with your ipod, do you need to select tracks to be automatically synced, or you manually manage your ipod's library?

  • I have a problem with syncing my calander with outlook 2007 for iPhone 5s, ipad 1st and 3rd generation. Contacts work find, and new and changed enteries in outlook all go to the devices. Device Cal changes do not appear in Outlook

Over the past year or so, I have been unable to fully sync my iPads with outlook 2007 calander. Now I have an iPhone 5s, and really need the calander fixed. Contacts seem to sync in both directions, and any new or changed cal enteries in outlook appear on the device. The problem is that any new or changed calander enteries do not make ip back to outlook 2007, so there is only one-way syncing (down to the device) but no return, for calander entries.
I am now using the latest itunes, which I followed the recommendation delete all apple stuff, and then reinstall, I have used scanpst, built new PSts, etc, am I am stuck.
    Not using icloud either.
Not using wi-fi, purely USB cabale sync
    Running on Windows XP, SP3
Now IOS 7.0.2 on iPhone and 1 iPad (3rd gen)

    Kept searching, found this: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23321067#23321067
Bottom line: if you follow the recommendation to delte all itunes software and re-install, it don't work (at least for me and many others).
However, purge the data (certain data) and the data syncs.
I think the folder is Apple Computer\Preferences and it needs to be purged.
To be sure, maybe someone can rename the folder on their system, then run itunes and see if it syncs ok.
The idea is to figure out the least minimum stuff that needs to be touched in order to get a working solution than having to purge all Apple software and then rebuild it all over again.
I had purged other files out of inpatience, but did not want to purge entire folders because I had Safari, and Quicktime software, and did not want to wipe that out, Plus there were software downloads and device backups in some of those folders. But I really believe it is the preferences folder, and I would like someone with the same problem to try it and verify it.
Once the preferences folder is removed/renamed (taken out of the picture) pluggin in the device and go to the INFO (I think that is the iTunes tab) page where you select calanders, contacts, email accounts, etc. They will all be unchecked (because you wiped out the preferences) and you need to reselect them. Then run your sync.
What I had done in testing was create something on the device, and modify something else on the device looking to see what got up to Outlook. I got the good news that something good was happening when I got the conflict message from iTunes, and it showed both Outlook and iPhone, showing the calander entry I changed on the iPhone. Never got that before. After the sync, everything looked good the few test entries were uploaded to outlook.
Now, My Cal is 10L+ enteries, and I am doing 100% sync (I don't select the option to ignore enteries over x days). I also have 1400+ contacts. Before this change, the sync of contacts & calanders took a couple of hours (and only operated ONE-WAY, now the syn is taking less than 5 minutes for this one step.
I am a Windows XP Professional user, x32 bit system, using Outlook 2007, iTunes 11.1.1.11, I am standalone (no exchange server) and have about 10 email accounts (mainly POP) defined. I am using only one calander in outlook, but I have Outlook and 2 gmail calanders in the iPhone.
I am running iPhone 5s and iPad 3rd Gen both with IOS 7.0.2 and a 1st generation iPad with the latest version of IOS 5.x.
If anyone else has success, I'd like to hear, along with your experience.

  • TS1819 Mac OS X 10.7.4. How do I configure my network settings so I don't have to enter the password to my wireless router every time I start up or come back from sleep mode?

    Hi,
Based on my experience, the credential issue is mostly likely caused by authentication method.
And I recommend the following troubleshooting:
    1. Change LmCompatibilityLevel on the windows XP client to a value of 2 or 3:
    a. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
    b. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\
    c. In the pane on the right side, double-click lmcompatibilitylevel.
    d. In the Value data box, type a value of 2 or 3 that is appropriate for your environment, and then click OK.
    e. Exit Registry Editor.
    f. Restart your computer
    2. Reset the windows credential store.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
