Entered my calendar, then allowed it to go to cloud and lost all my data
I entered all my calendar information and wanted to sync it with my husband's iphone.
I went to settings - icloud -calendar and turned calendar on.
Went back to my calendar and all my data is now missing.
What did I do wrong? I signed it iCloud on my PC and my dates were not there either.

The only thing I didn't do right is that I didn't Erase all content from iPod... I did it from iTunes...

If no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, there is a hardware problem.

I restored my Iphone 4 and then chose to back up from itunes (as there where I have always backed up on to) I got all my apps back and contacts, but lost all my photos, wi-fi info and other little bits.
Does anyone know how to get them back at all?!??
Thank you so muchSomething may be wrong with the backup in regards to texts and photos in the Camera Roll with your iPhone 4, but music is not included with the backup and the same for photos transferred from your computer.
The music should be in your iTunes library on your computer and any photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone 4 should remain on your computer. -

my iphone will not allow me to save events on the calendar. I use the plus sign and get a screen to enter the event name and time but when I go to hit save, it is not there. When I hit "done" which is where the "save" button should be, the screen disappears and the event is not saved. I tried seeing if all of my calendars were on but that doesn't appear to be the issue.

My contacts on my old Iphone I gave a family member were deleted then synced to icloud. My current iphone lost all its contacts when it next synced. I retreived a 6mth old backup to get my contacts, but I want my recent messages back, any help?
The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone. -

Are they still listed on your device when you go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Numbers? If so, they should still be in iCloud but you may need to contact support to find out why the Numbers app isn't able to access them: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.

How can I prevent deleted mail from ending up in "All Mail" and "Archives"?
To my horror, I emptied these boxes and lost all my mail from all my boxes .
All mail also disappeared from my iPad, I suppose because they are "synched"

Thanks for any thoughts.I'm having a similar but slightly different problem. My company just migrated to Gmail, and it's saving mail drafts every 30 seconds into my Trash folder.
I unchecked the "Show in IMAP" preference in the Gmail settings, but my Drafts folder completely disappeared. I went back and checked it and the folder reappeared (with my drafts still in there).
I like the idea if starting an email on my laptop and having the option of finishing it on my iPhone or iPad, so only saving Drafts locally would not be ideal. -

No backup is a bad mistake.
The music sync is one way only - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing, File>Transfer Purchases
Start asap always maintaining a backup of your computer. -

You can't use iCloud to back up your photos. Photo stream only keeps photos for 30 days, and your iCloud backup would be overwritten by a new backup that doesn't contain your photos if your were to delete them from your phone and keep backing up.

Once I have synced my Google calendar to iCal, can I turn off syncing and save all info in iCal?
I have been using Google Calendar, and syncing info from it to my Mac, iPad and iPhone. Now that all the info I originally entered into Google Calendar is on my Apple devices, can I turn off syncing it and save all the events, birthdays, etc. that were put into iCal up to this point? I have only been adding to my iCal via the Mac, iPad or iPhone for several months now, so it seems silly to keep using Google Calendar.
Unless you have backed up your iCal data, there is no way to retrieve the now missing data. To easily back up your calendar data, simply choose the Back up Database… option under the File menu in iCal.
Microsoft cautions users that deletion of the Entourage calendar in iCal—without first disabling the synchronization function with Entourage—will result in exactly the outcome you see.
If you have not subsequently synchronized with .Mac since you deleted the iCal calendar, you can selectively restore calendar files as a collection of calendars from .Mac by using the Reset Sync Data… option in the .Mac preference pane by launching System Preferences, pressing the .Mac icon then the Advanced tab, and waiting for your client list to update. Once you've done that, press the Reset Sync Data… button, choose Calendars from the drop down menu and pick the option to replace the data on your Macintosh with data stored on the .Mac servers. -
When I opened the app I selected do not allow, to use my contacts, but now realise I should have allowed it. I have uninstalled and reloaded it, but it will not ask me to use my contacts again. Any ideas as now I see e mail names and not just the persons name.
If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.
