Equivalent of SunPKCS11 class in HP JRE

SunPKCS11 class in present in Solaris JRE, Linux JRE and Windows JRE but it is not present in HP JRE. Can any one tell what is the equivalent of this class in HP JRE.
I heard that PKCS11 interfaces are present in every platform. Can any one tell what is this interface on HP.
Thanks

I would like to reiterate the question.
I know that setting the class/XBoot paths will fix the issue.
However, I also know that ClassLoader will promote search for a class from classpath -> xboot -> jre/bin/ext
I prefer to deploy my app integrated with a JRE. So i put all jar files in the EXT dir of JRE.
This approach worked fine in Java 1.4 but failes on Java5.
i am talking about 1 jar file. jce.jar

My web page uses a Java Applet to allow my visitors to replay chess games; the Chess Viewer Deluxe applet was written by Nikolai Pilafov some time ago and has been working properly for some time (until recently). I don't monitor this part of my site regularly so I am not sure when it began to fail. On his web site [http://chesstuff.blogspot.com/2008/11/chess-viewer-deluxe.html] he has a link to check LiveConnect object functionality (which fails for OBJECT tags). His recommendation is to "seek platform specific support which might be available from the JRE developers for your platform".

Until I checked the LiveConnect object functionality, I was unable to identify the source of the console error messages. This does seem to be the smoking gun.
Is Apple aware of this problem? Are these classes no longer supported? Has anyone else had this problem? You can attempt to recreate the problem locally by going to my web page: http://donsmallidge.com/DonSmallidgeChess.html

  • J2SE 1.4 generated classes on older JRE versions

Maybe a newbie topic but is it normal that JDK 1.4 generated classes only work on the JRE 1.4 runtime environment ?
If so, how do I compile to work on older runtime environments ?
A link to a page with info on this would be most appreciated...

    Thanks,
That was the link I was looking for.
FYI : To make my applet run with the default JVM for Internet Explorer I had to compile to target 1.1 and strip the code from all Java 2 code. Strange, as I have IE 6.0 and you would expect it to come with a Java 2 runtime...
Anyway, my first applet is on the Net now : http://www.ebo.bewoner.antwerpen.be/Shift/Game.html .
I wonder if it works from other clients than mine...and especially other machines that a Windows PC !

Now when i try to run this file it shows a NoClassDefFoundError
Do i need to set the path in some .properties files.???

if i compile it with like
java -Djava.ext.dirs=D:\jdk\jre\lib\ext Testthen it works and shows the Classloader as "ExtClassLoader"
But this is a run time setting.

  • AS2 equivalent of Document class?

Is there a way in AS2 to approxmiate the functionality of assigning a document class to a FLA/published swf?
I would like to publish a swf that is an instance of a Topic class (extends movieclip). For various reasons I can't use AS3, but I would really like to emulate that part. Any ideas?

  • Known Oracle Thin Driver Issue :: Need an Equivalent for the Class

    Hi,
We are working on an effort to migrate a J2EE application from WebLogic to OC4J. We noticed that one of the classes used the WebLogic implementation of the BLOB Data Type ( weblogic.jdbc.vendor.oracle.OracleThinBlob ). The original developers decided to use this class against the Oracle SQL API after reading this link :-
    http://support.bea.com/application_content/product_portlets/support_patterns/wls/CLOBBLOBDataTypeHandlingIssuesPattern.html#Known_Oracle_Thin_Driver_Issue
We are porting our code to Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 that uses the latest JDBC Implemation Code ( The Manifest FIle lists the version as Oracle JDBC Driver version - 10.1.0.5.0 ).
Can you please tell me if We may have a serious impact is using Oracle SQL API instead of the WebLogic BLOB Implementation ?
    Regards,
    Sandeep

As mentionned in the link, this issue is fixed in 9.2 and 10g driver.

  • Help! - JRE can't find classes that use inner classes!

Whenever I try to launch an app using the JRE, if the class was built with an inner class definition, the JRE says it can't find the class.
    For instance:
I created a class called GUI, which contains anonymous inner class definitions for the button handlers: addActionListener(new ActionListener()){, etc.
When I compile this class I get GUI.class and GUI$1.class
When I try to launch this using the JRE:
    jre -cp c:\progra~1\myApps GUI
    The JRE spits out
    'Class not found: GUI'
BUT if I go back and remove the action handlers so that the only compiled class file is GUI.class (not GUI$1.class) then the JRE can find the class no problem.
What in the good Lord's name is going on here?

Thanks for the response. Got the 1.2.2 version of the JRE, where I guess you no longer invoke jre.exe (no such file exists) but java.exe instead (not well documented).
Also, the newer version of the JRE has no problems locating classes, so I guess I'm OK.

  • Using and loading newer java classes...

    Hi,
I am trying to use a feature from the newest release of java in my application.
Is it possible to find the exact class files within the jre and just put them amongst
    my application's classes?
For example if I were to take the new transparency feature
from the latest release and use it on a computer that is not running the latest release of the java runtime?
Any ideas or help would be so great...
    Thanx in advance!

    BigDaddyLoveHandles wrote:

Also, what if i wrote a class that uses the new features, and catch a class not found exception
just on loading that class? so I could inform the user the latest jre needs to be downloaded to use transparency...In my mind, a cleaner approach is the following.
Right off the bat (main?) you can find out the version:
String version = System.getProperty("java.version");And decide what to do based on that. You even could have two versions of your app and chose the one that works with that version of the JRE!Thanx BigDaddyLoveHandles! :)
this is a great idea, i still hope i could find some kind of solution to using classes from a jre that is not installed some how...

  • JAAS: location of Configuration, LoginModule classes

    Hi,
I've created a custom JAAS implementation (Configuration & LoginModule classes) for use in a web-environment (Tomcat + Expresso).
Question: at the moment, my set-up will only work with Tomcat and a very simple non-Expresso web-app, if and only if, I put the Configuration and LoginModule classes in the jre/lib/ext directory.
Is there a way to move the classes to WEB-INF/lib ? The reason for this would be that I would like to use specific Expresso classes in the LoginModule, that also need an environment (connection pool, etc.) to function properly.
Or would this generally be a stupid idea.
    TIA,
    Jaap

    Hi ...
Interested from your posting, seems successfully implemented JAAS using Tomcat.
I have exception ... cannot instantiate LoginConfiguration. Seems no solution till date.
Could you share the procedures to implement JAAS to Tomcat (4, I pressumed) ?
    TIA.

Please help to suggest me. How should I do to let out this error?
    Thanks

many people use the two interchangeably, though technically it can mean something different.
What you get back from a call to newInstance() is the same as what you'd get when using the new keyword and no constructor arguments, a reference to an instance of a class (there are other ways to dynamically create an instance using other constructors).
"Creating a class object" technically means loading the class which causes a Class instance (so an instance of the class Class) to be created for that particular class, making the class available to the JVM for instantiation of instances.
newInstance() and its sisters are useful for when the class to be instantiated is not known (or even doesn't exist) when compiling the class that needs to instantiate it.
This is of course the case with JDBC. The people creating the JVM can't know what driver classes will be out there at some point in the future (and if they did know and have access to all of them in the past it would still be foolish to have them all hardwired into the JVM).

  • Decompiling of class files

Why is it possible to reverse engineer or de-compile .class files. Is there an easy workaround for this problem that does not require buying expensive software to compile a java program into platform-specific form?

it is possible to decompile .class files because JRE has to be able to read and parse and understand your code... (i mean your bytecode that you have got from compiler)
if you want to protect your code from being decompyled and reused by your competitors, then you should odfuscate your code...
(examples of obfuscated C code my be found from http://www.ioccc.org unfortunatelly i don't know if there is such thing for obfuscated java code anywhere)
this doesn't make your code unusable for others, but makes it bit more difficult to reuse your code.
i personally see no reason why i should keep in ecret what my programs source looked like, but you may have your reasons... so i dodn't judge you...
well... i just rememberd that as a homeassignment i had at school to write some program... and i just had found one decompiler... so i looked up a program from internet that did exactly what i had to do and decompiled it....
i couldn't use it because it had used lot's of private variables that where named byte1, byte2, ... and so on... and in every method they these same names for different variables...
so the code was unusable for me, allthough it comiled with no errors
another way to make your code less usable for others is to write it in your own language 8if your native language is english then using it would not misslead others too much, but i have found some chinese code that had variable names something like "katakana" etc. and also some comments that were no use for me... (since i dond't understand chinese, not even if it's written with lattin letters)
also you might want to look from internet for articles that explain how to write unmaintainable code...
    http://mindprod.com/unmain.html
but in such case you'd be out of luck when you have to debug the same code after some weeks... :P
i hope that you got some ideas of some things related to your question...
