JAAS: location of Configuration, LoginModule classes

Hi,
I've created a custom JAAS implementation (Configuration & LoginModule classes) for use in a web-environment (Tomcat + Expresso).
Question: at the moment, my set-up will only work with Tomcat and a very simple non-Expresso web-app, if and only if, I put the Configuration and LoginModule classes in the jre/lib/ext directory.
Is there a way to move the classes to WEB-INF/lib ? The reason for this would be that I would like to use specific Expresso classes in the LoginModule, that also need an environment (connection pool, etc.) to function properly.
Or would this generally be a stupid idea.
TIA,
Jaap

Hi ...
Interested from your posting, seems successfully implemented JAAS using Tomcat.
I have exception ... cannot instantiate LoginConfiguration. Seems no solution till date.
Could you share the procedures to implement JAAS to Tomcat (4, I pressumed) ?
TIA.

For those who would have the same problem, here is how I could eventually fix it.
Since the Flex Test Drive is sometimes out of sync with flash builder 4, I recreated a project using other help pages on Adobe site :
Entry point :
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/AccessingData/WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-668f02f4120d422cf08- 7ffd.html
As suggested, I used the New Project wizard to create a new project, with :
Application server type : J2EE
Check the radio button "Use remote object access service : BlazeDS"
Then, as indicated in following pages (section "Accessing BlazeDS")... :
file:///C:/Mes%20documents%20C/Commun/Developpement/Documentation/HT-Tracks/AccessingData/ help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/AccessingData/WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-668f02f4120d422cf08-7ffe.ht ml#WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-19a3f0e0122be55e1b7-8000
...I selected the "Data / Connect to Data/Services..." menu option, which started the Data/service connection wizard.
There, I selected a BlazeDS (and not Web Services) service type, and everything went fine.
Suggestion to adobe staff : maybe it would be useful to update the Flex Test Drive to reflect Flash Builder 4 ?
Very nice product anyway, so far, congratulations...
Rgds
Marc.

I have used SAP doc mgmt for years. We copied a client and now when I configure a Class to my DMS DIR and go to CV01n Additional Data NONE of the characteristic entry boxes show up. Additional Data is blank.
It appears there must be some high level setting missing in the client. I have checked all authorizations and cannot find a difference between this client and all of the other clients we have. Only this one client does not show the class characteristics in the Additional Data tab.
Any ideas of why this standard function is not working). It does not matter which DIR I config the 017 class to, nothing shows on Additional Data.

Hi,
The issue is resolved. We are working in a sandbox with Class configuration on a DMS issue related to standard class 017. There are no standard settings in SPRO - Cross-Application Components | Maintain Object Types and Class Types | for the object type DRAW that will allow "auto-populating" characteristic values as we do with VC class 300.
For whatever reason DRAW and class 017 are not configured by SAP in the same manner as class 300 for example.
We made a config entry for DRAW Class 017 VBAP. Let's just say the system did not like that.
We are exploring other options.

• OpenJPA - ArgumentException: Could not locate metadata for the class usi...

I'm getting the following exception when executing logic/queries around JPA entity classes:
{color:#333399}nested exception is: <1.0.0 fatal user error> org.apache.openjpa.persistence.ArgumentException: Could not locate metadata for the class using alias "MyClass". This could mean that the OpenJPA enhancer or load-time weaver was not run on the type whose alias is "MyClass". Registered alias mappings: "{MyClass=null}"{color}
I get this exception on occassion. It is intermitent and i can't seem to reproduce it consistently.
I'm using the following:
WebLogic: 10
KODO: 4.1.3.1 bundled with WL10 which in turn uses OpenJPA 1.0.0
In other forums on the net they have suggested explicitly adding the classes to the persistence.xml file ( i've done this )
They have also stated to run the openjpa enhancer on the code before deployment to WL ( done this too!)
One last step that i have yet to attempt is to load the class within the code before use ( haven't tried this as it seems so hackish)
Any other thoughts? ANyone else experience this?
Thanks

We are having the same issue.. Anybody knows how to deal with this problem?

"iTunes cannot locate CD Configuration folder, so you cannot import or burn CDs and DVDs. This folder must be in the same directory as iTunes."
experimental advice coming up.
that folder should be in the C:\Program Files\iTunes\ folder. can you see it in there?
if so, while itunes is closed, try dragging that folder to the desktop. reboot the PC and do a repair install of itunes. go into your Add/Remove, select iTunes, click "Change" and click "Repair".
does a new CD Configuration folder get generated? if so, does iTunes launch without the error message?

I have a LDAP login module implementing javax.security.auth.spi.LoginModule. Hi,
in OracleAs bet is to use Enterprise Manager to configure the login module. The LoginModule needs to be configured in the system-jazn-data.xml file, which is located in teh j2ee/home/config directory of the OC4J you use. Enterprise Manager does this all for you.
In your application deployment the orion-application.xml file needs to specify that a custom LoginModule should be used. Again ENterprise Manager does it for you.
To use the LoginModule e.d. for J2EE authentication, just make sure that the application name of the J2EE deployment matches the name of the LoginModule configuration
If you want to use pure JAAS you may have to change the OC4J properties file in the j2ee/home/config directory. Best suggestion to give is to get the online documentation for OC4J security

• Custom JAAS login module configuration in Oracle application server

I have a LDAP login module implementing javax.security.auth.spi.LoginModule. This login module works well with tomcat and weblogic, if I configure the JVM arguments -Djava.security.auth.login.config and -Djava.security.policy to point to the login.conf and access.policy files. The login.conf file has the below content
FREEWAY_SERV

grant Principal com.wipro.freeway.security.RolePrincipal "UserAdministration" {
permission com.wipro.freeway.security.URLPermission "/createOtherUser.frw";
permission com.wipro.freeway.security.URLPermission "/createDealer.frw";
The application uses these login modules by passing Name of the JAAS configuration (FREEWAY_SERV or FREEWAY_PORT).
I would like to use the same login module and code in Oracle application sever 10.1.3 and I haven't got any success yet. I am not getting how to set these JVM properties and make my application identify this custom login module. I have tried configuring the custom login module via oc4j admin console and I couldn't give a name to my configuration. I also set the system properties for
-Djava.security.auth.login.config and -Djava.security.policy with no success.
Could anybody please help me to get this right?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
In OracleAS 10g R3 (10.1.3.x) you can register your login module in your application (and server) using Enterprise Manager, and config file. That is easier and more flexible that the parameter.
I would invite you to take a look to the security how-to:
- 10.1.3 How-tos, and How to integrate a custom login module
You can also take a look to the 10.1.3 Documentation and the LDAP/Login Module integration.

• How to locate and configure SSL cipher suites

hi all,
i wanted to knw how Ciphersuites that are used in SSL Connections are picked up by the JVM or whoever is responsible for establishing the connection at lower level. I mean there are methods in SSLSocketFactory, HttpsURLConnection named getEnabledCipherSuites(). I was just wondering where these default cipher suites are picked up. Is there any configuration file or some setting where we can add our own cipher suite to the list?
Please advice.
Thanks in advance :)
Arun

hi,
As already we have discussed this, we can set the ciphersuite used in the SSLConnection using SSLSocket.setEnabledCIpherSuite() function only. And getSupportedCipherSuites() function returns the list of cipher suites that are supported by the connection.
But i want to set ciphersuite in SSLConnection using HttpsURLConnection. Under this class (HttpsURLConnection) there is no such method where u can specify the ciphersuite.
So i am trying to find out when an SSL connection is setup from where does the JVM loads the cipher suites? I checked the All the basic classes in javax.net.ssl package and all contain the methods as abstract. So if anybody has any idea regarding where these supported cipher suites are located in jdk please let me knw.
Thanks in advance :)

• Update List of Protocols When Configuring a Class-map During IOS FW Configuration

Hi Everyone.
I am working on a 2911 router with IOS version 15.2 and I want to configure Zone Base Firewalls. I have a list of protocols I want to allow through the firewall but when I do match protocol ? after creating a class-map of type inspect, I don't see some of the protocols like rtp, rtcp, secure-imap and skype. Is there anyway I can update the list of protocols available to be selected?
Thanks

You should be able to match on any of the applications in NBAR. Have you updated to NBAR2? It can be downloaded here-
http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282774227&flowid=7440&softwareid=284509011&release=7.0.0&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest
The release notes list all the protocol definitions.
Hope it helps

So, please let me know what file is containing name

That will modify /etc/nsswitch.conf to include 'nis' on several lines and will put any servers you list in /var/yp/binding/<domain>/ypservers. See also the 'ypinit' man page.
