Erased unwanted parts of photo now how to make a background

I am just getting started with PSE 8.0.1. I have a photo where I just want that part which is a given person.  I cropped then erased unwanted parts. The erased areas are pure white.  How would I create a background that looked like clouds or draped cloth or something that would appear only in the erased parts of the photo?

Sorry to say, but the work flow which you describe will not give you result which you desire.
Go to File>new>blank file. Enter height and width, and resolution. The resolution should be about the same as that of your picture
Set the foreground and background color chips (lower left) to diffent colors - for example shades of light blue
Go to Filter>render>clouds. You should have a background with a cloud pattern
Minimize this as you wil need it subsequently
Make a selection of the person which you wish to retain, using one of the selection tools - e.g. the Selection brush tool. After you make the selection, you will see "marching ants" around the selection.
Go to Select>inverse, then hit delete on the keyboard, go to select>inverse. The checkered pattern denotes transparency
Go to Edit>copy. This will place the selection on the clipboard.
Go back to cloud background, go to Edit>paste. This will put your selection on a new layer
Access the move tool to position and resize the selection over the background.

  • Does anyone here know how to make a background soundtrack for a Tai Chi Video?

    Good morning,
Does anyone here know how to make a background soundtrack for a Tai Chi Video in Garageband. I have been looking around at the different sounds and music in Garageband but I have not been able to find anything that would go with the video.
Here is an example of a Tai chi video if you were wondering

I want to create something like this for a video I did for a fitness gym for a Yoga instructor and Tai Chi instructor.
    Any tips would be appreciated.

    Brandon,
you will not have to do any importing in GarageBand. Intalling Mainstage will extent GarageBands Loop Library and Instruments Library.
After you installed MainStage the additional loops and Instruments will show in GarageBand just like all other Loops. you will simply see more loops.

  • How to make 2D background in 3D project?

    Hello guys,
I have a 3D group which has one object in it. (text) I want this text spin in 3D therefore I have add a camera and applied a sweep behavior to it. It moves nicely in 3D space, exactly as I want.
Then I need some background, so I create a new group, make it 2D and place it as a bottom layer.
I choose a background image from my library and place in into this new group.
But ..... background now spins exactly the same way as my text. It does not stay as a background, but becomes just another object moving together with the text.
Since I did make this new group 2D, how could this happened?
Any advise how I can make the background stay still (or move it separately from the text?
    Thank you so much.

Sound like you might have accidentally created your 2D group inside your 3D group - it has to be at the root level.

  • How to make a background white in Aperture?

I take photos of shoes in a light box with a white background. I want the resulting photos to have a dead white background except for a bit of shadow. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. I want to stay in Aperture and not have to move the images into Photoshop. How do I do this while still keeping the colours on the shoes true?

If the shoes are mainly mid-tone, you could just bump the contrast up a little.
You could also probably just adjust the tone curve a bit to force "almost white" to "white"

  • PSE3, how to make white background for silouette

I have taken a few pics of my grandkids in silouette form. That is, profile shots taken against window with snowy background. I've done a conversion to B/W, but need to darken it further. My main question is, how do I put a selection on a pure white background? Barbara, I have your book, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Do you have specific pages to look at? I know how to make a decent selection, but that's about it! Thanks.

    Donna,
    1. Make selection of silhouette
    2. Go to Edit>copy
    3. Go to File>new>Blank file> Color Mode:RGB. Background contents:White. Size H&W for your paper stock.
    4. Go to Edit>paste.
    5. Position selection with move tool.

  • How to make a background image appear to grow slowly as text happens front

How do I make a background image which is simply a static image of Earth in space "seem to grow closer" by just slowly enlarging the image as text appears in front of it? Can't seem to find anything intuitive on how to accomplish this. I'm sure it's simple but I just can't seem to wrap my brain around it.

Double click your image to load it into the viewer. On the top of the viewer are 3 tabs, select the one that says "Motion." Inside of this tab you can animate any video or still image. For what you are wanting to do the Scale option will be the place to start. I think Scale is pretty self-explanatory, but just in case...click the keyframe button and type in a number for the scale (like 90). Scrub down a bit with the playhead and type in a new number next to scale (like 175). A new keyframe is created and you have yourself a zoom in.

  • I shared too many pix and photos, now how can I delete them from my iPad?

I shared too many photos and songs on my iPad. How do you delete albums?

How did the photos get onto the iPad ? Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app - you either need to move/remove/de-select them from where they were synced from on your computer and re-syncing e.g. to remove a synced folder de-select that folder on the Photos tab and re-sync, to remove all synced photos select and sync an empty folder.  Depending upon what iOS version that the iPad is on, you might be able to delete all synced photos by swiping across the 'Photo Library' line in Settings > General > Usage > Photos & Camera (that should give you a Delete button but I haven't tried tapping it to see if it works).

  • Photo Sync: how to make it work right?

OK, so to me "sync" means "have the same thing on both sides." Is that just me?
That is what "sync" means for all my music.
So OK, I have a PC with iTunes, if that makes a difference.
I would really love it if when I took some pictures on my iphone, they got backed up to my PC on "sync." And if there was some straightforward way to move the pictures out of "Camera Roll" and still keep them.
Instead what I have is something where I copy all my camera roll into another directory, the file names on camera roll are not even sequential with date the photo was taken, no easy way to find duplicates from a previous copy, and blah blah blah.
Am I just doing this wrong? Is there some piece of free software that makes all this obvious and right and beautiful, like almost all of the rest of the stuff on the iPhone?
    TIA,
    Mike

It is called a sync with the iPhone, but it is really a sync process. Some data is synced with the supported application by definition of syncing - a bidirectional sync, and other data is transferred only - from your computer to your iPhone as part of the iTunes sync process.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306071
When the iPhone contains photos that were captured by the iPhone, it is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer, and should be treated as such. A digital camera is not synced with your computer when connected - photos are transferred from the digital camera to your computer, and the same applies to the iPhone.

  • MacBook Pro original parts...  How to make sure

Just got a new MackBook Pro 2.4 upgraded to 4GB RAM and 200GB 7200 rpm.
How do I know that I have original parts installed?
Also, it came with OX 10.4 + upgrade disk to Leopard.
Is that how it suppose to come?

Why do you suspect that the vendor you bought it from sold you non-original parts?
"...Also, it came with OX 10.4 + upgrade disk to Leopard.
Is that how it suppose to come?"
It is probably one of the last models produced with 10.4, so yes that is how it is supposed to come. You have the option of running Tiger 10.4.x or updating to Leopard.

  • Editing complete, now how to make a DVD with menu

This is my first go through with PP CS4 and I'm nearly complete. I've edited my entire video and I've organized my project into about 40 sequences. Now I'd like to create a DVD menu for it and export the entire project to DVD (likely more than one since it totals nearly 4 hours). I'm looking to create a looping video at the menu with a couple options like "play all", "scene selection", and "bonus features". Each of my sequences is a different scene. What is my next step, what program(s) do I use from here to make this happen? After reading some other threads it looks like Encore is the direction I need to head in, but since this is my first time, I'm unfamiliar at the moment.
Any tips and/or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

  • Spherical Photo Gallery how to make a transparent background

    http://www.flashandmath.com/flashcs4/spheregallery/index.html
    http://www.flashandmath.com/flashcs4/spheregallery/spherical_gallery.zip
I am pretty new to the world of flash, a flash newbie.
Please check link above my question is related to making this sphere gallery.
I am trying to make the background transparent, and i can , when i make it transparent
the navigation for the sphere doesnt let me navigate throught the pictures.
If you look at the code i made it transparent by removing the drawboard function or the fills in the function.
As i said when i do this the navigation seems non functional.
if download link does not work try the other at the top.

    Hi,
Since you had written event handlers on 'board' and board is transparent (without drawBoard function), there will be no events triggered and navigation is not possible. Workaround is to create board with fill = minimum alpha value (0.01).
    board.graphics.beginFill(0x0, 0.01);
Let me know if you need more information.

  • How to make a background image?

I wanted to try something special. For a few pages, and ideally the inside covers of the book, I would like to print a thumbnail of a logo on a white background as a backdrop for some of the pages. I see where to make a photo into the background for a page. But when I try to make the logo as the background, the logo FILLS the page.
Is there a way to make the logo smaller so it will be a just a small thumbnail on the page instead?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Read Old Toad's Tutorial #19 on how to create custom pages for iPhoto books using the themes background (or one of your choosing). Examples of a custom page and cover are :

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How to Make a Background Texture Like This

Can you please take a look at following image and let me know how I can create a background texture (pattern) like this in Adobe illustrator cs6?
I already tried this using Texture -> Grain -> Artistic -> Film Grain  but the result is a little different as:
Can you you please let me know how to do that? Thanks

Actually you are close, it needs something like the light factory in photoshop to generate depth.
The easiest way is to go to your local office supply store, by a sample pack of paper then scan a sheet into your computer, instant texture. You can then overlay any color you choose, depending on the original color of the paper though.
