Erlang Package Upgrade

I was thinking since the erlang package is out of date and no one is going to upgrade it, i could upgrade it. And advice/best practices for upgrading packages?

It's still in the repos, so you can provide a PKGBUILD but not literally update it.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Creating_Packages
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ar … _Standards
You can also have a look at the current PKGBUILD http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/ … ges/erlang

  • SSIS package Upgrade from 2005 to 2012

    Hi,
We have a Solution file with 8 projects for SSIS packages. All of them are in VSS. They all have been created in 2005. Now we installed VS 2012 and SSDT on our local machines. I got latest of solution and projects from VSS on new machine. I tried to open
solution file which took me SSIS package Upgrade wizard. I followed the steps and in the last step of conversion, it displayed that it had errors. The errors are:
Error 0xc001f429: Package Upgrade: The file, "C:\SSIS\compay\hello.dtsx", could not be opened for writing. The file could be read-only, or you do not have the correct permissions.
and for some packages, it is like this:

But solution and all projects and packages show that they are checked out. I checked properties also. Read only checkbox is not checked.
Please suggest what to do. I appreciate your response.
    Thanks,

Why didnt you check it out directly from VSS rather than going this long route?  How would VSS now that file is in checked out status if you go and manually change readwrite property? I think it may be that its getting confused when you tried to save
it into its working folder as it still has status as checked in and not locked by anyone.
Can you try saving packages copies to different folder and then do the upgrade by including them onto a IS project?

  • R/3 Delta queues in support package upgrade

    Hi gurus,
Our team needs to apply a support package upgrade to our BI 7.0 (without an upgrade in R/3 source system).
Do I need to worry about SM13 and RSA7 in my source system R/3 or just my data marts inside 7.0?
Or do I need to empty R/3 delta queues before BI upgrade to prevent data loss?

  • Recommended Solaris package upgrade procedure

We would like to know the recommended Application Package upgrade procedure. We followed the procedure as defined in the Application Packaging Developer's Guide.
Currently we followed the following procedure during upgrade:
    1. Check if old version is available.
    2. If it is available execute the pkgrm command to remove the old package as indicated in the Application Packaging Developer's Guide. But since the package names are same and we are executing the pkgrm command from the preinstall script, in some systems it's not allowing to remove the old package since it's executed from pkgadd command scope. The following error message is displayed while package verifying step is executed
    [ verifying class <none> ]
pkgadd: ERROR: missing entry in contents file for </opt/XXXXxxxx/jre>
    3. We cannot manually remove the old package first since it will completely wipe out the file. We need to migrate some of the files from old release to new. So we need the old files during upgrade.
Please suggest a suitable procedure to handle this.
Some more details about the OS:
    1. uname -a

    Hi.
I can't say how Oracle recomend. But I see that for update main part of Sun Product used two ways:
    1) Documentation say that user should remove all previos version of product by hand.
    2) Used extarnal installation tool that do it automaticaly, but not as part package installation script (pre/postinstall ).

  • Impact of Support Package Upgrade on languages

    Dear Experts,
We have our client with SAP CRM enterprise, ISA and MSA implemented in various countries and many languages (HU, PL, CZ, N, GR etc). We would like to know if SP (Support Package) upgrade will have any impact on the languages.
Any pointers or help would be grateful. Since we need this information urgently, any help in this regard would be of great help.
Points will be rewarded for useful answers.
    Regards,
    Kathir

There will be no impact of SP's on languages. We recently installed a few SP's for our CRM 4.0 system and did not have any impact.

  • Contract + data package upgrade

Okay, so I am trying to get the Samsung Fascinate outright and just replace my current phone. What I want to know is if i can get the Fascinate and upgrade my data package without having to start a new contract. I am not eligible for any phone upgrades. If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it.

I'm getting as a christmas present from my boyfriend and he is buying it through best buy. But I'm on plan already with my family so it's cheaper than having to be on a contract by myself right now. My dad only makes me pay for the extra stuff like texting or data package. I just don't want to have to sign up on my own contract  right now.
Is your boyfriend paying full price for the phone?  Or getting a discounted phone with a separate contract/phone number?  If you just want to swap phones to a new phone, then you'll need to pay full price for the new phone to avoid any contract commitments.  Make sure you understand what the deal is with Best Buy!

  • SAP_ESS Business Package Upgrade

    Hi All,
Can you guide for steps needed to upgrade SAP_ESS business package from SAP_ESS 600 to SAP_ESS 603?
Is it simpley done through JSPM or some different Tool?
Will the SAP_ESS 600 PCD contents will ge overwritten by new components? as we have some custom codes.
Can both version work in Parallel in same system?
    Thanks
    Lakshmi

    Hi,
Check the link for creating track:
How to Migrate Developed Software Components to a New Release in NWDI
    And to answer your question:
    1. You need to create a New Track
    2. Ensure all the dependent components are compatible with ESS 603
Check the link to find out the compatible versions http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOWTOGETRIDOFSPSTACKMISMATCHISSUES
    3. All of your custom developments will be in a custom software Component(SC)
       (a) In this case in the Old Track go the SC where you have all of your custom developments
       (b) In the Consolidation Tab of the Old Track select the SC and do an export.
       (c) In the new Track define SC with the latest Dependent Components
       (d) In the cms/inbox keep the exported SCA file from step (b)
       (e) After the import of the file you have your custom developments in the new track.
    4. If you have modified the code from the standard ESS application, after the upgrade the changes will go.
    5. You need to do the code changes manually to all the Standard Component changes.
Revert back if you have any questions.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers-
    Pramod

  • Business Package Upgrade

    All,
We currently have an ESS/MSS Business package working on EP6 SP16 system and are looking to upgrade our portal to EP 7.0 SPS 11. We were had the following thoughts and have been looking for answers, if some could help us with our questions it would be greatly appreciatd.
    - Do we need to install a new Business Package for ESS/MSS after the upgrade?
    - Is it possible to migrate our current ESS/MSS business package from EP 6.0 to EP 7.0.
    - Can the same business package work on both EP6.0 and EP 7..0
    - Any thoughts we need to keep in during the upgrade that would effect ESS/MSS.
    Thank you.
    SAP Partner

    Hi
For ESS upgrade R/3 is advised by SAP.
We advise that if you are already on ERP2004 and moving the ESS packages then EA-HR, SAPESS, SAPMSS, SAPPCUI should be upgraded for getting the optimum functionality from ESS.
There are lot many additions in the functionalities.
The basic point is BP is just the gui layer the contents and applications still depends on BAPIS RFCS lying in R/3.
So Always a comparision of ESS With EA_HR is advised.

error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
    python-qscintilla: /usr/lib/python3.1/site-packages/PyQt4/Qsci.so exists in filesystem
Apparently 3 packages (qscintilla and the python and python2 bindings) install the same file. IMHO File should only be installed by qscintilla ... :-)

  • [SOLVED] "/var exists in filesystem", no packages upgraded

    Hi,
Just ran into this error now on the latest update. I get it from both dbus and mongodb.
Probably important: I created /var as a symlink to /data/var.  /data is the mountpoint. Ever since I installed this system 2 1/2 years ago, this has worked. Maybe the latest pacman update changed something?
Any thoughts on the best way around this?
    Thanks!
Last edited by yodermk (2015-01-24 00:09:22)

    From this:
Allan's blog wrote:Directory Symlink Handling: Example time! Arch Linux has a /lib -> /usr/lib symlink. Previously, if pacman was installing a package and it found files in /lib, it would follow the symlink and install it in /usr/lib. However the filelist for that package still recorded the file in /lib. This caused heaps of difficulty in conflict resolving – primarily the need to resolve every path of all package files to look for conflicts. That was a stupid idea! So now if pacman sees a /lib directory in a package, it will detect a conflict with the symlink on the filesystem. If you were using this feature to install files elsewhere, you probably need to look into what a bind mount is! Note that this change requires us to correct the local package file list for any package installed using this mis-feature, so we bumped the database version. Upgrade using pacman-db-upgrade. Thanks to Andrew!
By that logic, before pacman 4.2, pacman would see your files in /var even though they were actually in /data/var. I'd assume that dbus and mongodb want to install stuff in /var, which by the above logic causes the conflict now.
EDIT: What WorMzy is all this in a nice couple of sentences.

  • [SOLVED] mkinitcpio error during kernel 2.6.37-6 package upgrade

After upgrading to kernel26-2.6.37-6-x86_64, I failed after reboot (couldn't mount root and got dropped to the "you're on your own" prompt). Fortunately, the fallback kernel worked. I didn't look into it at the time (it was late), and I noticed a new kernel package the next day, so I updated again thinking maybe it was a bug that got fixed. Nope. Same problem after reboot, but I paid a little more attention this time and saw the errors below:
    sudo pacman -U kernel26-2.6.37.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

    ==> SUCCESS
Since my root partition is btrfs, I require the libcrc32c module on load, and it looks like mkinitcpio couldn't manage to get it (and a few other modules) into my initrd. So I ran:
    sudo /sbin/mkinitcpio -k 2.6.37-ARCH -c /etc/mkinitcpio.conf -g /boot/kernel26.img
again by hand, and it worked without errors. (Yeah, I'm a sudo person, in case you were wondering.)
Here are the relevant /etc/mkinitcpio.conf lines:
    MODULES="dm_mod dm_mirror btrfs crc32c libcrc32c"
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata dmraid lvm2 filesystems"
I don't know squat about mkinitcpio and why it would work fine when run by hand but choke when run via pacman. Anyone have any ideas?

According to Ryan Hill's comment on http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353907#c16 which is sending us to http://lwn.net/Articles/429345/  - it looks like ext4 is also impacted by this bug, not only compressed btrfs!
Chris Mason from Oracle (funny, "magical" coincidence ;P ) said he's got a patch for btrfs and hes testing it. Hope to see it soon...
Edit: ahhh here it is http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-btrfs … 08577.html
Edit2: patches were merged with today's (26.02.2011) mainline kernel snapshot: 2.6.38-rc6-git6
it seems to work fine for me, so i guess it's [SOLVED] now

  • Support package upgrade / SPAU with multiple queues

Hello,  We are upgrading our support package level on our ECC 6.0 system.  I divided up the support packages into 4 different queues:
    SAP_BASIS
    SAP_ABA
    PI_BASIS
    ST-PI
    SAP_BW
    SAP_AP
    SAP-HR
After importing each queue, I had a few things to do in SPDD and SPAU.  I created a new SPDD or SPAU transport request for each queue.  My question is now what is the recommended procedure to handle these SPAU/SPDD transport requests when you have multiple queues?  I plan to define the same queues when doing QA and PRD.  Do I mark all of the requests and then when I do each queue, I only specify that particular request?  Thank you in advance for your help.
    Best regards,
    Russ Cook

    Hi Russ,
when did you export the different SPAU requests or didn't you export them at all?
If the export happens only after all queues are already imported, this final system state (component version + SP level) is stored in the requests. You are then not able to include e.g. the request for the SAP_BASIS SPs into the SAP_BASIS queue, because the other components are still on the old version, while according to the request they should be on the newer state.
So, the right procedure would be; import the SP queue, do the modification adjustment for this queue, mark the workbench request as modification adjustment transport request and export this request. Then you can import the next SP queue.
    Best regards,
      Dirk
