Dear All,
I get the Following Error in the Essbase console when I try to Execute any CalcScript.
Error: 1012704 Dynamic Calc processor cannot lock more than [25] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase CalcLockBlock setting and then retry(a small data cache setting could also cause this problem, please check the data cache size setting)_+

Our Environment is Essbase 11.1.2.2 and working on Essbase EAS and Shared Services components.One of our user tried to run the Cal Script of one Application and faced this error.

I have done some Google and found that we need to add something in Essbase.cfg file like below.

Possible Problems
Analytic Services could not lock enough blocks to perform the calculation.
Possible Solutions
Increase the number of blocks that Analytic Services can allocate for a calculation:
Set the maximum number of blocks that Analytic Services can allocate to at least 500.
If you do not have an $ARBORPATH/bin/essbase.cfg file on the server computer, create one using a text editor.
In the essbase.cfg file on the server computer, set CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH to 500.
Stop and restart Analytic Server.
Add the SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH command to the beginning of the calculation script.
Set the data cache large enough to hold all the blocks specified in the CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH setting.
Determine the block size.
Set the data catche size.
Actually in our Server Config file(essbase.cfg) we dont have below data added.
CalcLockBlockHigh 2000
CalcLockBlockDefault 200
CalcLockBlocklow 50
So my doubt is if we edit the Essbase.cfg file and add the above settings and restart the services will it work? and if so why should we change the Server config file if the problem is with one application Cal Script. Please guide me how to proceed.

Your calculation needs to hold more blocks in memory than your current set up allows.
From the docs (quoting so I don't have to write it, not to be a smarta***:
CALCLOCKBLOCK specifies the number of blocks that can be fixed at each level of the SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH | DEFAULT | LOW calculation script command.
When a block is calculated, Essbase fixes (gets addressability to) the block along with the blocks containing its children. Essbase calculates the block and then releases it along with the blocks containing its children. By default, Essbase allows up to 100 blocks to be fixed concurrently when calculating a block. This is sufficient for most database calculations. However, you may want to set a number higher than 100 if you are consolidating very large numbers of children in a formula calculation. This ensures that Essbase can fix all the required blocks when calculating a data block and that performance will not be impaired.
Example
If the essbase.cfg file contains the following settings:
CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH 500 CALCLOCKBLOCKDEFAULT 200 CALCLOCKBLOCKLOW 50
then you can use the following SET LOCKBLOCK setting commands in a calculation script:
SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH;
means that Essbase can fix up to 500 data blocks when calculating one block.
Support doc is saying to change your config file so those settings can be made available for any calc script to use.
On a side note, if this was working previously and now isn't then it is worth investigating if this is simply due to standard growth or a recent change that has made an unexpected significant impact.

CalcLockBlock Error and Dynamic Calc Cache

I keep getting the "Dynamic calc processor cannot allocate more than [xxx] blocks from the heap" error. I have the Data Cache cranked up to about 700 MB, and the CalcLockBlock set at 1000, the block size is 296K.The query which fails returns the following counts for block allocations.Dyn.Calc.Cache : [312] Non-Dyn.Calc.Cache : [513]My question is this, does Essbase return the CalcLockBlock error if it runs out of DCC memory as well? I'd try testing it, but I can't modify essbase.cfg and reboot until the evenings.There is also more thing which I'm curious about it.... This query I'm running invloves a scenario dimension which is sparse. When I run it using only 'Actuals', the result is fast and the block count is:Dyn.Calc.Cache : [45] Non-Dyn.Calc.Cache : [0]If I add 'Budget', the results are linear as expected.Dyn.Calc.Cache : [90] Non-Dyn.Calc.Cache : [0]When I add the variance scenario (a dynamic two pass) for Actual and Budget is when the block count explodes. Not sure. What does support say? Sometimes I've found lowering the settings rela low works as well, depending on the circumstances.---------Go to your test server and try this. Create a new dimension with one member (Values). Make it dense. Then create another member in that dimension "Budget Values". Give it a formula of [Values->"Budget" ;] and make it dynamic calc.Then create another member "Variance". Give it a formula of [@Var( "Budget Values", Values ) ;] and make it dynamic calc.Because this dimension has only one stored member it is essentially not a dimension, but it does allow you to increase your analysis capabilities through dynamic calcs without adding to calc time.------------------------------

ORA-24335 - cannot support more than 1000 columns - How to solve this?

I got error message 'ORA-24335 - cannot support more than 1000 columns ' when i try to insert x no of rows for a table with following code:
INSERT ALL
INTO tableA Values ('A', 'B', 'C', 1, 2, 3)
INTO tableA Values ('D', 'E', 'F', 4, 5, 6)
INTO tableA Values ('G', 'H', 'I', 7, 8, 9)
SELECT *
FROM DUAL
How to solve above?
What does it really mean? It's not as easy as if my table has 10 columns than I can't insert more than 100 rows (1000 columns divided with 10 columns = maximun 100 rows to insert), or?
Is there a better/more appropriate way to do insert many rows?
Should I do my inserts with an OracleTransaction (My application is developed with C# and asp.net), as ~follows

I have the same problem inserting over 1000 values into my Oracle DB. The table only has 51 columns but to speed up the insert command, I use bulk inserts via insert all command. I need to insert 100 rows at a time for a total of 5100 values.
Example:

This is the error I get: ORA-24335: cannot support more than 1000 columns.
I need to insert about 879,500 rows (51 cols per row). The values I read from a text file in sets of about 48,000 and put them into a hash. I tried inserting one row at a time, but it takes too long, about 28 hrs! Then, I tried the bulk update with only 6 rows and the total time was about 25 minutes. Which is acceptable to us.

The first one, my private home email, works fine. With the other 3, I get the message "Cannot get mail: The connection to the server failed"
All were working fine before the 8.3 upgrade. I did try the old trick of making one minor change on the account and resaving, but that did not change anything. I even deleted my work account and re-entered it from scratch, but again, sadly, no luck. For the time being, I am successfully getting the email via IMAP, but this ***** compared to exchange. Anyone have any idea what is happening or if a fix is in the works?

Well, the one set up on exchange 2k3 is now working fine, although no changes were made on either the iPhone or the exchange side, so that's fun, but it still is throwing errors when connecting to the other 2 exchange accounts. The common elements are that both non-functioning exchange accounts are google apps for business accounts. So is one of the ones that's working, by the way. The settings on both accounts are the same as the one that's working, and both worked fine before the 8.3 upgrade. I have no issue accessing both of these accounts on my ipad which is currently on 8.2.x. If it's not the iphone OS at fault, I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

CRM gurus,
Whenever I try to create a Counter, I receive the following warning which doesn't allow me to do anything further..
"value cannot have more than 0 decimal places"
I first received this when I tried to assign a counter to a product in an Installed Base. So when I tried creating a counter here, I got the above message. I then tried to assign a counter to the product in the product master data, and I still received the same error message. I then tried creating a counter from the "Maintain Counter" screen (Transaction Code: crm_mpk_admin), and still received the same error message.
In this effort I created my own custom Counter Category, and Attributes. Nothing helped.
Could someone throw some light on this concept and tell me where am I going wrong.

when i run the page sometimes it works fine but sometimes it throws Compilation Error as below.
"Error(502,1224): file:/C:/Jdeveloper/jdevhome/jdev/myhtml/OA_HTML/fwk/t/Session_2055663493/region1.uix<Line 502, Column 1224>: XML-20124: (Fatal Error) An attribute cannot appear more than once in the same start tag."
And i delete the particular file from the path and run the page so this time it works fine.
But later after sometime i get the same error but the session number will be changed, then again i need to delete it and run.
What can be the permanent solution for this issue?

Seems like the mdl file is corrupted or was not generated correctly.
Can you try to create the mdl file again and then try the import ?
If it doesn't work then try contacting Oracle Support.

The syntax:
service LDOM=local_domain RDOM= dom1,dom2,dom3
defines failover remote domains for that particular import. It's not meant to provide access to a service in multiple domains. What you want is basically what you did, i.e.,
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom1,dom2
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom2,dom3
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom3,dom4
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom4,dom1
This would provide load balancing across the 4 domains, and still provide failover domains, although if the connection policies are set to ON_STARTUP, then the following is sufficient:
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom1
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom2
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom3
service LDOM=local_domain, RDOM=dom4
As only the active domains will be used, and inactive ones will be skipped.

Cannot run more than one instance of a remote app in remote desktop services Server 2012

I need to set up an image viewing program (Olyvia) to allow students using Macs and iPads access to this windows only application in order for them to get their work done. We may have 12 or more students accessing and trying to run the Olyvia application
at any one time.
All works good, except that I cannot run the Olyvia application (setup as a remoteapp program) more than one instance at a time. That is, when I start up "olyvia" on a Mac, it works great. If I leave it up and running, and then try
and start up "olyvia" on an iPad (using different accounts), I get the following error message:
"Cannot run more than one instance of this program simultaneously. Either the program is already running, or it has not been terminated completely."
I need to understand the root issue.
1. Is this a licensing issue? So, I need to add some CALs to the RDS server?
2. Is this a application issue with "olyvia"? So, no matter what I do, it is not going to be able to be used by more than one person at a time when configured as a remoteapp?
3. Did I not "publish" the application correctly?
4. Is this happening because I followed the "quick start" guide?
Appreciate any help I can get on this. We have no problem getting CALs, I just need some help with the root issue.

Hi Geoff,
Each application uses different techniques for determining if multiple instances are running. If you can determine what method it is using then perhaps you could use App-V or other virtualization software.
In the best case you really should direct your question to the maker of Olyvia. The reason I said that is they specifically designed their software to prevent multiple instances, so the first question is, why? Is it related to Licensing?
Compatibility? If you knew the specific reason(s) why they are doing it and the technique used then at the point using a virtualization technique may be the best option.

I don't know if anyone can help me, but I am having an issue with Photoshop CC (2014), I cannot open more than none photo at a time, and keep getting the attached error.

Cannot modify more than one base table through a join view

hi guys, my current problem is that i have a datablock based on a view, now all the fields bar 1 are updateable, but this one field that is obtained through a join is displayed, the user can enter data in this field which then pupulates other fields which are required, but this specific field should not be updated. Is there an option to state this as i keep getting the error:
cannot modify more than one base table through a join view

but this specific field should not be updatedHave you tried setting the "Query Only" property of the field to "Yes" and the other DML properties (Ins, Upd, Del) to No?

I am aware that are a whole bunch of forum threads on this error however little bit of additional help would be of great help, as I have nearly tracked this 'pain' down.

15 Primaries and a whole bunch of secondaries
Single WSUS server
OK, so we have just taken handover of this new account and still getting a hang of the creek and corners in the environment. We have about 1000 machines sitting in "Failed to download updates" state. Error

Async searching of updates using WUAgent started.
Checked the
CI_UpdateSources table and found 2 Update sources unique ids:
{BCB9D60B-2668-459B-BFFD-6DDD11AADC53} Date Created 2011-01-11 03:47:52.000/Date Modified 2011-01-11 03:47:52.000
and
{A2762CA9-9739-4260-9C3A-DC4B36122E16} Date Created 2014-07-09 02:48:46.000 / Date Modified 2014-07-09 02:48:46.000
My questions:
Can I rely on the last modified/created date for inactive update source and delete it off the database? in this case can I delete {BCB9D60B-2668-459B-BFFD-6DDD11AADC53}?
When i browsed to the registry location on the Central Server
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\SMS\Components\SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER i saw the update source as {BCB9D60B-2668-459B-BFFD-6DDD11AADC53}.
Does it imply that a stale record?
Any help/guidance will be much appreciated :)

I am using iPhoto 11 mail and cannot add more than one recipient in the 'to' line. When I put a comma in, the recipient's address is deleted. If I use ' ' with more than one recipient the save grays out. Any thoughts?

I figured it out. I needed to fix some errors in my account information. It works fine now.

Cannot have more than 4000 BitmapCacheBrush

Sorry for my bad english.
I cannot create more than 4000 BitmapCacheBrush. I think it's because there is a limit of 10000 GDI handle per process.
There is no error, but the application block.
The MSDN don't say anything about this limit (it should at least). Is there a workaround ?
Am I wrong if I say that BitmapCacheBrush use RenderTargetBitmap ? Which is bugged (see my last post at https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/e6713faa-2d0d-4f28-b6b7-4e5213253538/releasing-rendertargetbitmap?forum=wpf).

So, if BitmapCacheBrush do not use RenderTargetBitmap, I think both of them uses something that is bugged.

When you push on the button "click", the application freeze.
If you change 5000 in 1000, then when you push on the button "click", the application doesn't freeze.
Edit : In my post, I said 4000, but it's approximative. The limit is between 4000 and 5000.
