Error 13641 - The Subnet prefix must be between the starting and ending values

Hi All,
I can honestly say hand on heart that this is the first time I have ever asked for help in a forum in over 15 years but this is doing my head in..
I have a Sys Center 2012 R2 deployment.. VMM R2 up to RU3, Edge Cluster (2 hosts), Management Cluster (2 hosts), 2 x Production Compute Clusters (total of 20 hosts). I have a HA Network Virt Gateway deployed on the edge cluster.
All Hosts have the new DHCP install done and the RU3 SQL patch is completed as outlined in deployment manual.
Everything had been running fine for some time after RU3 update... I am experiencing an issue whereby I get the following error anytime I try and attach a NVGRE VM network to a VM, or when I try and migrate a VM with a NVGRE network attached to another
host.
Error (13641)
The specified subnet prefix must be between the starting and ending values for the range.
Starting value: 4
Ending value: 30
Recommended Action
Specify a suitable subnet prefix.
All subnets in the entire network are /24's so prefix isn't an issue.
I can successfully attach a standard vm network but get the above error when working with NVRGE networks..
Further to this, if I restart VMM the DHCP function to VM's with NVGRE networks doesn't get picked up until I trigger a change in config on the VM, then it will get IP and function as expected.
I have checked all logs, there aren't any errors that I can see.
get-netvirtualizationlookuprecord throws out VM's and PA's as expected, but again not until I manually interfere with the VM in question.
Have any of you come across this before?? I want to check before I go rebuilding the PA network entirely and having to cleanup all existing VM networks to do it..
Any help or guidance would be appreciated..
Cheers
Nathan

I have seen this message before, "specify a suitable subnet prefix".
In my case, the NVGRE policies were out of sync due to HW issues on several hosts.
Here's some steps in order to troubleshoot/fix:
run the following cmdlet: Get-SCVMHost | Read-SCVMhost -RunAsynchronously
Check for any errors in the job log that refers to "Network Virtualization".
If this doesn't help, a recycle of the VMM Management server should do a "hard refresh" of the NVGRE policies, and it might include a reboot of the nvgre hosts too.
This solved the case in my situation.

• Display all dates between a start and end date on an Apex Calendar

Hi Guys,
I am encountering an issue where Apex doesn't display the data from a valid query in a Calendar.
I have a simple table used to capture events data with the following columns and data:
event_id   start_date   end_date
1           20-APR-09   22-APR-09
2 24-APR-09 24-APR-09Using an Apex Calendar I would like to display the continuous dates of an event on each relevant date, so in the above example I would like to see Event ID 1 shown on the 20th, 21st & 22nd April in the Calendar.
I have created the following query :
SELECT     ees.event_id,
ees.start_date + LEVEL - 1 AS date_range
FROM       dual
, (SELECT ee.event_id,
(ee.start_date) AS start_date,
(ee.end_date)   AS end_date
FROM   ees_event ee  ) ees
CONNECT BY LEVEL <= (ees.end_date - ees.start_date + 1)the results from this query list the dates as I require them in terms of an ID and a row for each date in the date range.
I then wrap this query into a view and use that to base an Apex Calendar on and the when I run the page nothing is displayed on the Calendar?!
Does anyone have any tips or pointers please?
Kind regards,
stu

A bit more digging and once again I have found my solution on Denes' website - thanks for such and excellent resource!

• Query to find the start and end date of current quarter

I want a query to give me the start date and end date of current quarter
I don't want to use TRUNC and ROUND as the 16th day roundoff logic is not required.
Thanks in advance.

Hi ,
I'm quite sure that the year quarters are static.....
So , you can save them as records of a table , such as:
QRTY START_DAY END DAY
============================
1 1/1 30/3
2 1/4 30/6
3 1/7 30/9
4 1/10 31/12
The sysdate(day of the current quarter) must be between a start_day and appropriate end_day of the quarters, concatenated with the sysyear (year of the sysdate).
So , if the above table is called Quarters ...
then
select start_day , end_day
from quarters
where to_date(sysdate,'dd/mm/rrrr') between (to_date(trim((start_day||'/'||to_char(sysdate,'rrrr'))),'dd/mm/rrrr'))
and (to_date(trim((end_day||'/'||to_char(sysdate,'rrrr'))),'dd/mm/rrrr'));
[b]Result
START_DAY END_DAY
1/10 31/12

So, the successfully loaded data is being loaded where year=2003 in the CSV as year=0003. Even though the data is loaded fine the data is not correct. For some reason the external table is set to have the year truncated.

• Date must be between year 1 and year 9999 - error message

I am receiving the following error message "Dates must be between year 1 and year 9999". The highest value in the next date value in the DB is 12/31/9999. The parameters being entered are 01/1900 and 12/9999. The following formula is the cause of the error:
EvaluateAfter ({@Start Date});
Global DateVar EndDate;
Global StringVar  strEndMonth:=Mid({?End Month/Year} ,1, 2) ;
Global StringVar  strEndYear:=Mid({?End Month/Year} ,4, 4) ;
Global NumberVar  nNextMonth:=CDbl (strEndMonth) + 1 ;
Global StringVar  strEndDay:=ToText(Day(DateSerial (CDbl (strEndYear) , nNextMonth, 1-1) ) , 0) ;
Global StringVar  strEndDate:=Right ("00" + strEndMonth, 2 ) + "/"Right ("00"strEndDay,2) +"/"  +strEndYear ;
Global DateVar EndDate:=CDate(strEndDate) ;
The bolded section is the section of the formula highlighted in Crystal. I've determined if the user enters 11/9999 as the end date instead of 12/9999 the report runs fine. Is this a problem with the formula or a limitation in Crystal or little of both? I don't understand what the formula is doing but at the end of the year it looks like it counts forward to January and then back to December and obviously 9999 is the highest year possible so the attempt to go a month ahead tanks. Is there a change I can make in the formula to avoid this error?

The error lies in the formula.
Global NumberVar nNextMonth:=CDbl (strEndMonth) + 1 ;
When you enter 12/9999 it adds 1 to the month of 12 giving it 13.
Global StringVar strEndDay:=ToText(Day(DateSerial (CDbl (strEndYear) , nNextMonth, 1-1)) , 0) ;
This calculates the last day of the month. Since from above the variable nNextMonth is 13, it tries to calculate 9999, 13, 1-1 which is invalid since there is no 13th month in any year.
Make this change and it should work fine.
Global DateVar EndDate;
Global StringVar strEndMonth:=Mid({?End Month/Year} ,1, 2) ;
Global StringVar strEndYear:=Mid({?End Month/Year} ,4, 4) ;
Global NumberVar nNextMonth:=if CDbl (strEndMonth) = 12 then CDbl (strEndMonth) else CDbl (strEndMonth)+ 1 ;
Global StringVar strEndDay:=ToText(Day(DateSerial (CDbl (strEndYear) , nNextMonth,
if CDbl (strEndMonth) = 12 then 31 else 1-1)) , 0) ;
Global StringVar strEndDate:=Right ("00" + strEndMonth, 2 ) + "/"+Right ("00"+strEndDay,2) +"/" +strEndYear ;
Global DateVar EndDate:=CDate(strEndDate) ;

• Pick list date must be between order date and cancellation date

Hi all
A client gets this error:
Pick list date must be between order date and cancellation date Message[173-89]
The date is between that range.
What else could be the reason for it.
Thanks

Hi
Since the message you received is very user friendly - date must be between....
I guess you have two situation
1.Either operation is incorrect
- Create a similar scenario in your test environment
-Are you receiving same error
-Test with only one item so far
-Check what is the result
2 . You probably need to upgrade your patch level
It might be coming from Application error
Hope this helpls

Hello Group,
I have been receiving below such org.xml.sax.SAXParseException exceptions.
Could you anyone please advise me what could be the reason for these issues and any probable solution thereby.
NOTE:
Eg1: Below string is causing error:
USER Given: funnicity is funny. isn't it. true. well go to "funnicity" today.
Escaped String : funnicity is funny. isn't it. true. well go to "funnicity" today.
Eg2: Below string successfully generated spell suggestions:
USER Given: funnicity is funny. isn ' t it. true. well go to " funnicity " today.
Escaped String : funnicity is funny. isn ' t it. true. well go to " funnicity " today.
The difference between above two example strings is, characters to be escaped were separated from other chars with a single whitespace.
In the below notes "TEXT:" is the string sent by ERXGoogleSpell to org.w3c.dom.Document.parse(InputStream) method and "ERROR:" is the error received from ERXGoogleSpell:

Thanks so much for all your responses.
I have actually passed-in properly escaped text to document parser, but it is behaving vaguely.
I see the text I have posted in my initial post is parsed by forum.
Here is the text that is reported as error:
Actual Text: Hello "World"
Escaped Text passed to parser: Hello & quot;World& quot; (note: & and quot are indeed not separated)
Here is the text that is working fine:
Actual Text: Hello " World "
Escaped Text passed to parser: Hello & quot; World & quot; (note: & and quot are indeed not separated)
The difference in above two versions of text input is: quotes and word are separated by a space to work fine.
Please advise a solution.

• HT1305 how can i turn down the fan rpm that's between the optical drive and hdd in my power mac g5 dual 2.3?

how can i turn down the fan rpm that's between the optical drive and hdd in my power mac g5 dual 2.3?

Ok, I saw that error in your logic. A Dual G5 2.3 or even a Dual Core 2.3 does NOT use LCS at all. Its air cooled and if anything if the OP is experiencing this problems could be due to possible heatsink paste drying up. He might have to re-apply MX 7 or Arctic Silver.
The only G5's that use LCS are: G5 dual 2.5 from Late 2004, the G5 Dual 2.7 from Early 2005, and lastly the G5 Quad-Core from Late 2005-end of September 2006.
Hope this helps.

• XML document structures must start and end within the same entity

Hi there,
I'm working with a client/server application and using SaxParser for reading in xml. I get the SaxParserException: XML document structures must start and end within the same entity. I understand what that means, but it isn't applicable! The xml data being used is well-formed. I checked the well-formedness with Stylus Studio to make sure. Here's the data:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

I'm using Eclypse as my IDE. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with it? Or maybe there's something wrong with the class I'm using for reading in the XML? Followng is the class.
Please advise,
Alan

Possible causes:
- maybe the above behaviours are by design i.e. the calling class/program MUST be stored in the parent folder of the package hierarchy?
**D:\zJava\zsamples> <-- classes residing here SUCCESSFULLY accessed package 'com.zswingpackage1'. NO -classpath parms. were necessary!
D:\zJava\ <-- classes residing here could NOT successfully access the package 'com.zswingpackage1'. Similar scenarios as above.
D:\zJavaB\ <-- classes residing here could NOT successfully access the package 'com.zswingpackage1'. I purposely created another folder with the 'B' suffix. Similar scenarios as above.
My PC configuration:
java version "1.4.0_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0_01-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0_01-b03, mixed mode)

WinNT 4.0 SP5
IE 5.50
CLASSPATH=.;D:\jakarta-tomcat-3.3.1\lib\common\servlet.jar;

Thank you so much for your expertise.

Hello,
I think that you use the import-declarations incorrectly.
Your code says:
import com.zswingpackage1;
... The meaning of the above declaration is the following: Import the class "zswingpackage1" from the package "com". The compiler cannot find that class, but it is probably never asked to find it in your code, so it won't report an error.
If you want to import the whole package use the following declaration instead:
import com.zswingpackage1.*;
... That means: import all classes from from the package "com.zswingpackage1".
You can also import just the classes needed, e.g.:
import com.zswingpackage1.swing_optgrp_eg1;
... I hope that does the job.

• What is the difference between Message Monitoring and End-to-End monitoring

Hi experts,what is the difference between Message Monitoring and End-to-End monitoring? and What is the difference between Value Mapping and Fix value?

You use message monitoring in the following cases:
● To track the status of messages
● To find errors that have occurred and establish what caused them
Check this help for further info:

You use end-to-end monitoring in the following cases:
● If you want to monitor message processing steps in a number of SAP components (to be configured).
● If you want to monitor the path of individual messages through these SAP components, from start to end.
Check this help for further info:

End-to-end monitoring includes message monitoring, adapter monitoring, BPE if BPM is involved.. so end-to-end monitoring tells you complete description of your scenario......but message monitoring is concerned only with source message coming to target message successfully generated.

• I want to upgrade my old airport express to the new express. Can I just switch out the old for the new or must I delete the old network first and start from scratch with the new express?

I want to upgrade my old airport express to the new express. Can I just switch out the old for the new or must I delete the old network first and start from scratch with the new express?

It is not necessary to delete your old wireless networks first, but doing so may eliminate confusion. If you wish to do that, open System Preferences > Network, and select Wi-Fi from the left column. Click the Advanced... button, then select your old wireless networks and delete them with the "–" (minus) button. Make sure the "Remember networks this computer has joined" remains checked.
OK then Apply.
This prevents your Mac from searching for your previous network which will no longer exist.
A new Express creates an open wireless network that you must select before you can configure it. It appears in your Wi-Fi menu like this:
Select it. AirPort Utility will load and walk you through its configuration.
Edit: If you are really using OS X 10.5.1 as shown in your profile, the above screenshot is not applicable. Instead, select the network called "Apple network nnnnnn" and then launch AirPort Utility.

Hi,
I have started developing the code with the following SQL Query -
Query 1
SELECT DISTINCT
TransactionDetail.TRANS_TYPE_ID,
MstTransaction.TRANS_DESC,
TransactionDetail.TRANSACTION_NUMBER,
TransactionDetail.CREATOR_NAME,
TransactionDetail.CREATOR_EMAIL,
TO_CHAR(TransactionDetail.TRANS_DATE, 'MM/DD/YYYY hh:mm:ss') TRANS_DATE,
Error.ERROR_SH_MSG,
Error.ERROR_DETAIL_MSG
FROM
TRANSACTION_DETAIL TransactionDetail,
MST_TRANSACTION MstTransaction,
ERROR Error
WHERE
(TransactionDetail.TRANS_TYPE_ID = MstTransaction.TRANS_TYPE_ID)
AND (TransactionDetail.ERROR_ID = Error.ERROR_ID)
AND MstTransaction.TRANS_TYPE_ID=(:MstTransTypeId)
After that there is a change in the Requirement to add "Start Date" and "End Date" with a "Go Button" --> Clicking on this Go Button displays the Data Based on
"Drop Down" box, "Start Date" & "End Date" --> Corresponding Data is Picked From Database and Displayed....
Now, i have Updated the VO (From JDEV Design Time) with the latest Updated Query (added Start Date and End Date in the Query),
also check the Corresponding XML file is also Updated with the latest Query.
Query 2
SELECT DISTINCT
TransactionDetail.TRANS_TYPE_ID,
MstTransaction.TRANS_DESC,
TransactionDetail.TRANSACTION_NUMBER,
TransactionDetail.CREATOR_NAME,
TransactionDetail.CREATOR_EMAIL,
TransactionDetail.TRANS_DATE,
Error.ERROR_SH_MSG,
Error.ERROR_DETAIL_MSG
FROM
TRANSACTION_DETAIL TransactionDetail,
MST_TRANSACTION MstTransaction,
ERROR Error
WHERE
(TransactionDetail.TRANS_TYPE_ID = MstTransaction.TRANS_TYPE_ID)
AND (TransactionDetail.ERROR_ID = Error.ERROR_ID)
AND MstTransaction.TRANS_TYPE_ID=(:MstTransTypeId)
AND MstTransaction.IS_NOTIFICATION_REQ='Y'
AND TransactionDetail.TRANS_DATE BETWEEN (TO_DATE((:TheStartDate), 'YYYY-MM-DD')) AND (TO_DATE((:TheEndDate), 'YYYY-MM-DD')) order by TRANS_DATE
So now at Design Time i have Query 2, but Strangely at RUN Time Query 1 is Excecuting asking for "Start Date" Binding Variable NOT Found (as there is no Start Date Bind Variable in Query 1)
for this i have to re-Design the required Part...to make it work
can any body explain why it behaved like this ??
regards,
anvv sharma
