Error -40 / -33 while building distribution in LV 8.2

Hello all,
I have a project in LabVIEW 8.2 with a build specification including additional installers ( LabVIEW runtime, DAQmx 8.3, NI-VISA 4.0).
The first release for my customer is workin fine. The distribution could be created perfectly. All add. installers are included.
Due to some new requirements from the customer I had to rebuild the application. That's working fine. But I can no longer build the distribution, because of an error message when including the additional installers. This error message will appear when including the installer for DAQmx 8.3 (without DAQmx 8.3 the distribution is created fine). The error message is:

The next step was selecting the specific path for DAQmx 8.3 on the additional installers page. Insert the device driver CD and select the CD drive.
When trying to build the distribution, I received the following new error message:

My questions are now:
1. What is meant with Error -40?
2. What can cause this error?
3. Why do I receive Error -33, when selecting the instaler source manuallly? The inserted CD is the installation CD from where
DAQmx was originally installed.
In the time between the first distribution and the second distribution I had installed (and removed) trad. DAQ 7.4 for testing purposes.
If anyone can give me atip or a solution

Hello Heinrich!
This is a problem, which occured before. It is a internal error of LabView and used to happen with older DAQmx Versions.
In the newer version this problemes should be fixed. In the other cases we had,
the customer could create the installer after the new installation of DAQmx.
In your case it seems that the deinstallation of the DAQ 7.3 leads to the problems. There might have been dependencies between
DAQ 7.3 and the installer and now, that the DAQ 7.3 is not there anymore, it is not working anymore.
Try to install DAQmx 8.3 again. Maybe download the newest version from the national insturments homepage. But I guess, you have already
a new one, right? I really hope this will solve the problem. In the other cases it did.
In the meantime I will contact my collegues in the US to get more detailed information and tell you more.

FYI, initially part of this project was developed in LabVIEW 7.1 and now I have
converted all the project files to LabVIEW 8.0. This was done by mass compiling and
saving all the VIs.
It is possible for me to build source distribution for some other programs. But I got the error while building source distribution for my current project. Same error was generated even while previewing the source distribution. This project contains some dynamic VIs. I had included them under the dynamic VIs and support files while creating EXE file. While building source distribution, i got an error message saying that :
"Unable to generate preview. An included VI or one of its dependencies does not exist. Open all Startup/Exported/Dynamically called VIs, recompile them (Ctrl-Shift Click the run arrow), and save them to update their dependencies.

For this error I rename the control, relink it in the code, and save the VI. Now I got an error message indicating different control. I was totally confused by this behaviour. What is the problem? Why the problem occured? What procedure to follow to avoid these kind of errors in future? I would be thankful, if I can get answers for my questions.

Hi,
I would first try mass compiling the vi's within your project to ensure there aren't any unresolved conflicts. Moreover, it's intersting that you can create an application without problems but upon building a distribution, things go awry.
Do the vi's run on the RT target without error? Does the application run on the target without error? Or do they run on your host just fine and its when you attempt to deploy on to your RT target that this error occurs?
Let's see where this gets us.

Build installer error code -12 while copying distribution

Hello all you helpful forum-goers!
I am having problems building an installer for my product now that I have upgraded to LabVIEW 2010 from 8.5.1. My project has an executable build, and then 3 installer builds which put a different value in the registry indicating the permissions level of the executable: Basic, Full, and Ultimate.
When I try to build the Full version, I get the following error:

The weird part is the "from" path doesn't exist, but C:\CP356\ does contain my project's files (including some sub-directories). But even if it did, I have no idea why the Ultimate version is referenced when I am building the Full version. I just tried building the Ultimate installer, and got the same error.
Stranger yet, this error goes away if I stop trying to include NI-VISA Runtime 5.0 in the additional installers section of my installer. The only other "additional installer" I have checked is the LabVIEW 2010 Runtime Engine. The VISA Runtime is required for my product, so I can't just leave it unchecked. Another clue is that the VISA Runtime's Installer Source Location is listed as D:\, my DVD drive. But even when I put the Device Drivers DVD in the drive, I get the same error when building.
I've tried looking in the Device Drivers DVD, but it says that the VISA Runtime 5.0 is already installed on my computer; I forget the exact path it listed, but I can get it again if that would help someone. But I couldn't figure out how to change the source location to tell it to get that installer locally.
Based on the posts I've found in this forum for error code -12, I also created a new Build Specification for the Full installer and set all the same options as the previous one, in case something about it got corrupted when I upgraded, but it didn't seem to make a difference.
I would very much appreciate any insight anyone has on how to fix or get around this issue!

Thanks for the reply! I looked at the knowledge base article, and followed it to the .NET 3.5 install page, and from there to the .NET 4.0 install page (figuring the later version the better), downloaded that and selected to "repair" my .NET 4.0 installation. It looked like it did thing for a while (was something broken? ;-)), but no change to my problem afterwards.
The other item in the article was a particular virus protection software, which I do not use. McAfee anti-virus is installed on my system, but it is controlled by our IT department and therefore is harder to change than usual. It has been installed the entire time I have used LabVIEW on my computer with no problems prior to this, but I will contact them to see if they could put LabVIEW on an exception list anyway next.
Since I couldn't do that immediately, I copied the NI-VISA_Runtime folder off of my Device Drivers DVD onto my desktop, used it to uninstall NI-VISA Runtime 5.0, and then reinstalled it. However, this did not fix the problem, or even change the additional installer properties for that item - it still says the source location is D:\.
Do you have any other suggestions for things I can try? I very much appreciate your assistance!

I have not a direct experience on distribution kit, but the error seems related to the absence of NI-DMM 3.0.2 disk in your CD reader (D: could it be the cause?

Error compressing pkg while building mythtv-0.16

I have been trying to build mythtv using the PKGBUILD from here:

It builds fine but at the final stage I get:

Flex weird error showing up while building

I am unable to make the head and tail of the following error . i have removed external dependent libraries , edited every compiler setting , changed flex sdk versions
but to no avail . Following is the error , and the same error gets added on creation of any new Mxml application > once i delete all my mxml applications , the error is gone .

After Installing iTunes 7, unexpected crash while building albums

I downloaded and installed iTunes 7 on a PC/Windows XP, and it seemed to replace iTunes 6 successfully. It also updated my copy of Quicktime. All was good, until I opened the application. It asked me a question, something like "do you want to download album art?" I thought this sounded cool, so I clicked Yes. When it started processing the albums, it had an error on the 9th one. The application unexpectedly quit. I tried reloading and it started processing albums, and quit again. I looked in the Apple Discussions, and found a note that showed me how to delete Quicktime files ("because old QT files might be lurking" he said). I did that, reinstalled iTunes 7, and it installed QT 7 fresh, but when I ran the program, it started processing albums again and then quit.
I didn't try removing the program yet, because I'm scared it'll remove my downloaded music.
I already checked the basics, like having enough disk space, enough memory, restarting my computer, etc.
What else can I do. I need to burn a CD with my latest downloaded music from iTunes, but i can't do that, because it quits too fast!!

Anyway, I've tried un-installing iTunes and re-installing it, and that didn't work. I have a feeling that the error is caused while building new album information. It always fails while "analyzing" song 8 or 9.
hmmmmm. i've seen a few cases of the gapless playback analysis choking on a song file(s) and producing that error message.
finding which song file(s) is the source of the problem can be difficult. but this set of instructions by Roy B may be of some help:

Find the what are all the subjectarea's in execution plan having the task 'SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_PostChangeTmp ', add the 'TASK_GROUP_Load_PositionHierarchy ' task group to those those subjectares.
Assemble your subject area's and build the execution plan again.

Classpath error while building the web dynpro project

Hi
I have created an application in which on clicking the button on one view , next view opens and data is displayed in the tables. This data i am giving as static, and for that i have created a java file. this java file is located in the subfolder i have created in the package path i have given. While building the application, i get these two errors :
1) The project was not built due to classpath errors (incomplete or involved in cycle).
2) Missing required source folder 'BPOutageTable/BPOT'
BPOutageTable is the application name, and BPOT is the subfolder in which java file is present.
This application is similar to "The Master/Detail Viewer Application" example in the tutorials.
Can anybody please help in this?

Hi,
You have give your classpath in your "lib" folder of the Dynpro application.
check your lib folder shows exact class path or not.
if you wish to add any jar files import it to your lib folder so you will not have compilation problem.

Error while building a Webservice in Netbeans EJB Module

I have copied the java code of a JCD doing xml to cobol copybook transformation in JCAPS, to a new webservice created in the Netbeans EJB module. There were no compilation errors. But while trying to build, I am getting errors like "java.io.printStream does not have a no-arg default Constructor" , "IllegalAnnotation Exception", "Unable to create jaxb context" etc..
I am not able to find out why this happened... Someone please help me in resolving this issue......

Error while building xml document

Hi Everyone,
I have a problem while building xml document.
I have developed my java files using IBM Eclipse 3.0 and i had no problem while executing the files.
But while i am trying to execute the same code in jdk/bin, xml document is not working..
No error encountered while compiling but while executing when i try to print the xml string it just gives the root element name like [root : null]
Can anyone suggest some solution?

To the values element add xmlns:xsi and xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation.
<values xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";
xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="file:///c:/schema.xsd">schema.xsd is schema file.

Getting an error while building a sample web service

I am beginner in web services and started working on a sample application in a web service tutorial.
Build is failing in build.xml file while building sample web service using ant tool.
antBuildfile: build.xml
clean:
setup:
[mkdir] Created dir: /tmp/output/WEB-INF/classes
[mkdir] Created dir: /tmp/client_classes
compile.server:
[javac] Compiling 1 source file to /tmp/output/WEB-INF/classes
webservice.build:
webss.build:
BUILD FAILED
Z:/JAVA-COBOL/sample1/tutorial/sample1/build.xml:43: The following error occurred while executing this line:
Z:/JAVA-COBOL/sample1/tutorial/sample1/build-webss.xml:10: Problem: failed to create task or type source2wsdd*_
Cause: The name is undefined.
Action: Check the spelling.
Action: Check that any custom tasks/types have been declared.
Action: Check that any <presetdef>/<macrodef> declarations have taken place.
Can anyone look into this and let me know if you have any idea on this?
