Error 50103 occurs. Reading three signals off PCI 6259 card

Error 53103 occurs in my program. Am reading off three inputs from the NI PCI 6529 card, AI3 to AI5 using the DAQ assistant. Any help please?

You're trying to do two AI tasks on the same device at the same time. You can't do that, because the device has only one AI timing system (among other reasons). Try combining the two tasks into a single task, or chaining the error out of one task into the error in of the second task.

  • Error -50103 occuring in one program, but not occuring in another similar program

    Hello,
I'm a new user of LabView and I'm trying to figure out how a part of this programming process works.  Anyway, the block diagram of the working program consists of the first two pictures (C:\Users\Labview\Pictures\errorsetupnew1.jpg  -and-  C:\Users\Labview\Pictures\errorsetupnew2.jpg).  The parts in question are the DAQAssistant9 and DAQAssistant12 in the lower half of the diagram.  When I run the program, everything goes fine.
So now I'm trying to run two other programs that both share the same properties as these two DAQAssistants, but they are in two separate programs.  When I run one program, it works, but when I run the other program, Error -50103 occurs at DAQmx Control Task.vi:10.  Pressing continue yields Error -50103 occuring at DAQmx Read (Analog 1D Wfm NChan NSamp).vi:3.
So my first attempt at solving it was to consolidate it into one program and run it all together, however the same error shows up.  I isolated the two While loops which seem to be causing the problem into a test program (third picture) and the error occurs there as well.
My question is what is different from the program in the first two pictures that is allowing the program to run correctly and the test program (which can be extended to the program that I need to work).
I'm new, so please let me know how many beginner mistakes I might be making here!
    Thanks

I'm not currently at the computer with the files in question, but what if I attached those instead when I got the chance?  The problem is that I don't believe I am using the same DAQ resource in two different tasks.  The command line runs correctly in one, but can not run in the other even though the part giving the error is just a copy of the other program.
I'm trying to run through the previous posts about this particular error but the LabView lingo is something I'm still getting used to.  Thank you for bearing with me and helping.

My ipad says it is connected to WiFi, which is workingly perfectly for several other devices, will not connect to internet.  It keeps giving the message 'Cannot Connect' or error has occurred or just blink off site or icon?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Is there a VI which reads audio signals off optical SPDIF port?

    Hi,
I am trying to capture audio signals from a DAT unit on to the computer's hard drive. Could you please tell me how can I read these signals off an optical SPDIF port using Labview and save the streamed data as a wav file? I am using an audio capturing interface called the Edirol UA-5 to transfer the audio signals from the DAT unit to the Mac's hard drive.
    Thanks,
    Bhuvana

    Hi Bhuvana,
There are not any VIs in LabVIEW designed specifically for SPDIF.  There is, however, a tutorial on reading an SPDIF signal using LabVIEW FPGA.  You may also be interested in this thread which discusses the use of a digital data acquisition board and the rate needed to read an SPDIF signal.

  • PSE 8 - How do I fix the error message: An error has occurred reading files or writing to disk...?

    Hello
I am using Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows 7 (64 bit). I have all my photos stored on an external hard drive connected by usb. The photos were transferred onto the HDD from a Windows XP machine. I bought a new computer  so I installed Photoshop 8 and imported all my photos to the organiser from the HDD. I have also taken some photos yesterday which I have uploaded to the HDD.
Now, when I want to delete a photo I check the box to say I want it to be deleted on the hard disk and I get the error message: 'An error has occured while reading files or writing files to disc. The disc may be full or there may bea problem with the source media.' This does not happen with the photos I uploaded yesterday, only the ones which were put onto the HDD from the XP machine.
Please could someone help? I have tried the File>Catalog> repair and optimise functions. I have reinstalled the software. It still does the same.
    Thank you in advance
    Dave

    David GW wrote:
The error message goes on to say, Please check your device settings or consult your device documentation regarding resolving writing errors. Which device do you think they are referring to?
Sorry, but I would have thought that this was rather obvious! The only device capable of being written to under these circumstances is your CD drive; after all, it's a CD you are trying to create...
You have two potential major causes of problems here. The most common cause of these difficulties is the disks themselves - you only need a batch with poor reflectivity to cause all sorts of read errors, so that's the first thing to try - using a different brand of disk to write to. The second thing you have to realise is that CD writers have a finite life - the lasers in them simply don't last for ever, and towards the end of their lives the power behaviour tends to be a bit erratic, and it tends to fall off somewhat - which causes the same sorts of errors, simply because the dye doesn't get evaporated efficiently. This causes mis-formed pits, hence the read errors. The only solution here is to install a new drive.
When it comes to reading, commercial CDs have a much higher reflectivity than ones you write yourself, so often these will play whilst your own will fail - a common cause of confusion, this. But it's worth checking; if you get failures to reproduce all of the tracks from a commercial pressed CD, then almost certainly your drive is failing.

  • Error -50103 occured with timed loop inside a while loop

    Hello everyone,
i wrote an application to sample analog voltage from  DAQ6024E card (see the attachments).
I have a big while loop in the VI because a I want to add some other functions later.
In the "WHILE_Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi" I use a while loop inside the big while loop to read the samples. It's working properly.
but when I use a timed loop inside the big while loop (see "TIMED_LOOP_Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi"), I get an error -50103 from the timed loop.  It seems that the first cycle is ok, but after the first cycle the error occurs.
I don't know what happens with the timed loop, anyone can help me? what does the error -50103 mean? thanks a lot!
PS: I am using LabVIEW 8.0

    hi molo511,
I tested your program but only with simulated devices. I had to delete the wire to the timing, so that the timed while loop runs with 1kHz. Did you already try this? Because this works on my PC.

  • 1802 Error Message on installation of Broadcom Mini-PCI Wireless Card

I am getting an 1802 error message on boot when I install the Broadcom Mini-PCI wireless card. I know it has something to do with some code IBM put into the BIOS or CMOS to check the cards for manufacturer or something like that. Is there anyway around this message or do I have to try and find an IBM mini-PCI wireless card for this machine?
    Solved!

All depends on how one defines success...
To put it this way: A3x machines are very unpredictable and moody when it comes to these issues, and you're talking to someone who has owned over a hundred A31p ThinkPads, not counting A30/p and A31 units along the way. More than once I've faced a scenario where the card that worked "out of the box" in one machine required a hack in the next one...
    But to answer your question:
    Can it be done? Absolutely.
Do I recommend it? Absolutely not.
IBM-issued (with a proper FRU number) Intel 2200BG should work in your machine with no hack. Some people have reported this experience even with generic card of the same type.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ramping a pulse signal using PCI-6602 card

I'm controlling a stepper motor and need a continuous pulse output with variable frequency. I need to accelerate and decelerate teh motor (It can't start immediately at a high frequency but needs to be ramped up to it). I can't have any hiccups in the signal or the motor can stall. It seemed I had my own ramp program written (which gradually increased the frequency value sent to the counter) to solve this problem, but when I switched to Office2000 I started getting hiccups in my signal. I also have a PCI 1200 card and could use A/O but I think using the counter signals would be better. If I'm wrong let me know. Once I have the motor up to speed I am reading in a pulse signal to analyze with FFT.
    thanks for y
    our help.

A few thoughts & musings, hope some of them are useful:
    1. The sequence for setting a new frequency should be to first load up the new pulse specs (use 1 & 2, not 3 & 4), then issue the "switch cycle" command to 'Counter Control.vi' You can look at NI's example program called 'Pulse Width Modulator' to verify syntax.
    2. If your frequencies are low enough and your loop time is fast enough, you may be trying to update the pulse specs before the previous specs have completed a full cycle. This has traditionally been a no-no, though I'm not 100% sure that it remains one with the latest NI-DAQ drivers.
    3. No ideas about the possible interaction with MS Windows and/or Office 2000. Haven't used either.
    4. (My own latest installment in a multi-year running gripe at NI): Wh
en oh when will we be granted the ability to perform buffered counter OUTPUT operations? Just as in the analog world, one can acquire a signal with AI and then reproduce it with AO, it would be REALLY REALLY handy in the counter world to measure with buffered semi-periods and then reproduce the same pulse train with a buffered output.

  • Acquiring signal from PCI 1428 card

    Hi,
I'm new to labview and been tryig to acquire the trigger signal from the PCI 1428 card. Is there anyway to acquire the trigger signal internally without using an external cable (breakout cable)? Can labview acquire this signal without using the external DAQ card?

    Hello DjBiomed,
It may help if you can provide more information regarding your application.  What are you ultimately trying to do with this trigger signal?   With the 1428 trigger line, it needs to be wired to something (either externally or through RTSI).  LabVIEW cannot automatically detect this unless it is connected.  You can look at the trigger examples that come shipped with the driver in the LabVIEW Example Finder for a better understanding.  They can be found on the browse tab under Hardware Input and Output >> IMAQ >> Signal Input and Output.   I hope this helps.

  • Look for visual basic 6.0 code for measuring audio signal in PCI 6052E card, such as THD(total harmonic distortion),signal-to-noise etc.

Hope receive NI measurement studio with visual basic engineer's favor in a early date!

This is just the nature of the while loop in the VB code. The processor is going to execute this loop as fast as possible. The DoEvents in the loop allows the processor to perform other operations if needed. Try opening MAX or some other program and drag windows around at the same time the code is executing. You will notice that the processor load will shift away from the VB6 program to other processes.
If you want to avoid this try adding a function similar to sleep in the while loop. However, this will slow the speed of your program and I would not recommend it, because the program is designed to run as fast as possible, but still allow other programs to execute.
    I hope this helps.

  • Can I use the pci-6259 card with SCXI?

I need to know if the new M style daq cards will still work with the SCXI devices. If so, is there any additional hardware ie. cable adapters that I need?

    Craig,
M-Series devices should work just fine with SCXI. You will need a new cable, as the connectors on M-Series devices are different from those on E-Series devices. I believe the following cable should work just fine for your application: SHC68-68-EP.

  • MySQL "An unidentified error has occurred"

I have just purchased Dreamweaver within the bundle of Master Collection CS5.5 Educational.
I have been using Dreamweaver since UltraDev days. However I have come up against this problem after installing Dreamweaver and trying to connect.
    "An unidentified error has occurred"
I have used a few programs to identify what messages are being sent out and it appears that nothing is actually being sent from Dreamweaver.
I setup the site fine, so I can transfer files back and forth to the web server. The database is on a different server, and I can use MySQL Query to connect to the database from the same PC.
I can't seem to find what the issue is. I tried multiple mysql databases on different servers and the same issue. It seems Dreamweaver is not doing anything when I hit Test.
    Any ideas?
    Andrew

Well, I may be a little late on this answer... but maybe it will help. After a few hours of messing with this; I FINALLY figured it out.
First of all, you have to have your site settings as such:
    Step One
    Remote Server Settings
    Server Name: *Insert Name
    Connect using: FTP
    FTP Address: yourdomain.com
    Username: yourusername
    Password: yourpassword
    Root:
    Web URL: http://yourdomain.com
    Step Two
    Testing Server Settings
    Server Name: *Insert Name
    Connect using: FTP
    FTP Address: yourdomain.com
    Username: yourusername
    Password: yourpassword
    Root:
    Web URL: http://yourdomain.com
    Click on the Advanced tab
    Testing server
    Server Model: PHP MySQL
Step Three (this is the tricky part, lol)
Click on file, then click New.
Create a NEW, I repeat... NEW PHP page.
    Let it sit.
    Step Four
Now enter your remote SQL settings.
Not sure why... but this worked for me after HOURS of:

  • RTSI cable configuration with PCIe 1433 card

    Hi All:
I tried to trigger my line camera with RTSI signal.
The layout is: trigerr signal  is generated from one PCI card 6259 (Dev2/ctr0). The line camera is connected with one PCIe 1433 card, and the two cards were connected with RTSI cable.
The problem is that how to register or configure PCIe 1433 with RTSI cable in MAX, it seems I can only configure PCI card within RTSI cable ......
If it is true, how should I do to rout the trigger signal to the camera, such as "route Dev2/ctr0 to Trigger line 0"?
Below is printscreen of MAX Configuration. Attached is my VI.
    thanks a lot.

Triggered with RTSI from DAQ.vi ‏63 KB
    camera configuration.jpg ‏218 KB

Thanks a lot, the post helped.
But I am still confused with the details:
To camera and PCIe 1433 configruaration, as the attached pictures shows: RTSI is configurerd as Camera Control Line as number "2"; the exposure control of camera is defined as "triggered".
In previous attached VI, you may find that the IMAQ configurer trigger is applied to define trigger  type as "RTSI", trigger number as "2".
About ttrigger signal from PCI 6259 (Dev2), digital pulse is generated and output terminal is defined as ctr0 ( seems only ctr0 or ctr1 is option).
So I still do not know how to route signal from "Dev2/ctr0" to "Imag0 CCL 2" in labview.
By the way, I read  the online example "LL Triggered Ring using DAQmx Pulse Train", http://www.ni.com/example/29476/en/.  Within this VI,  the DAQmx Connect Terminals VI is applied to route the counter's output to a RTSI pin so the signal can be used by the IMAQ device. However Dev2/ctro is not recognized as scour terminal, only other items such as PFI, APFI or RTSI are avaible, and output signal source is also limited with similar things, sounds like just internal connectrion with Dev2.
    thanks a lot.

  • DIAdem dac combined with NI PCIe 6259 doesn't send out data

    Hi,
    I have a NI PCIe 6259 card & DIAdem 11.2.0 (2010 version) on a windows 7 PC.
Analog inputs & analog + digital outputs are configurated in MAX 9.8.0f0. (Global virtual channels)
When I run a dac, analog inputs works perfect.
Both analog and digital outputs doesn't work. Only one of the four analog outputs give out the value which was send out.
In the past I had the same problems with this DIAdem version in combination with a thirth party USB card, but this was solved by new firmware & software drivers.
    Someone who had similar problems?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
I Tried the testpanel. Both analog and digital outputs works correctly.
I have no experience with labview. So this card isn't tested with labview.
One time the digital outputs works with DIAdem, mostly it didn't work. Analog outputs are OK.
    GfsDAQ driver version is 11.2.0.
I suppose that this has caused by driver problems.

  • Temperature Measurement using Iex Thermistor with PCI 6259

    Hello All,
I am having some difficulty measuring temperature using MAX with Iex Thermistor setup, and would like to know if I have missed any thing important. I am using external current excited thermistor with 2 wire configuration and PCI 6259 card with MAX.
This is a channel that was originally configured to Voltage measurement and MAX measures about 900mV from this channel OK, the voltage converts to Temperature to be around 30C. Then I added a new channel and configured it to measure temperature directly using MAX default Iex Thermistor setup. This is when the problem show up: I will get a constant -273C instead of 30C as expected when run the channel in MAX. I must have been doing something wrong here.
    Your help is greatly appreciated!
    Bryan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi Ravens, thank you for taking the time on this problem.  I am sure the issue was not caused by the A, B, C parameters being wrong, as when I ran the channel in MAX, I am getting a constant -273.15 value, and it was not updated as a real measurement.
To your 2nd question, this is a case of measuring 1 thermistor value using the Iex Thermistor method vs. Voltage measurement.  If I set it up to measure Voltage directly, I can see the realtime updates of the measurement values of voltage, which converted to Temperature in my VI to be reasonable values of temperature.
