Error: Accessing grouped objects in tab control

I have encountered an error where I cannot use/select objects within a tab control because they are grouped together.
If I copy/paste the tab control it shows them grouped and I can select them but as it stands in my program I cannot select the objects.
I would just copy/paste and work with that but I have property nodes and additional code for each of the 20 objects and would rather not have to go back and relink each property node and wire the new controls within the BD.
I am looking for a way of accessing the objects without having to copy+paste/recode anything.
Please note that there is a recent post about this tab control grouping error but is geared more towards adding an error notifier to LabView rather than how to fix the error.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

"Are these objects grouped because they are in a cluster or possibly because they were grouped using the reorder menu?"
The objects were grouped using the reorder menu on the front panel and then placed on a tab control.
The issue was that when I tried clicking on any of the grouped objects within the tab control on the front panel, nothing would happen.
If I double clicked, I would select the tab control on the BD.
I got rid of the bug by selecting everything on my BD and copying it into a new, blank VI.
Once I did that, I was able to access the objects that were grouped on the tab control.
Sorry for the late reply-- once I got it working I was only focused on finishing my task.

When adding a new program or browsing the packages in eclipse i get an "error accessing shared objects-area".
I can edit, save and run existing ABAP reports, however.
There was a similar problem here, regarding database procedure proxies but the solution doesn't apply to my problem, i guess. The solution was about creating the shared memory area CL_RIS_SHM_AREA. I can't access the memory area and start the constructor, as it doesn't show up on the monitor.
    ADT 2.28
    Eclipse 4.3
Netweaver 7.31 SP4 -> is this really compatible with ADT 2.28?
Thanks in advance for helpful hints,

    HI Julian,
if the area doesn't show up in the monitor, please try to start the constructor in transaction SHMM on your own by selecting the icon 'Start Constructor' as shown in the screenshot.
Choose CL_RIS_SHM_AREA as area, select 'Default Instance' and 'Dialog' as execution mode. Then press 'Create'. Either this works or the system will tell you the issue with the instance creation (e.g. insufficient shared objects memory - see the other solution description).

  • Access denied (Object: com.sap.portal.system/security/no_safety)

We are implementing EP 6.0, currently with SP11. We have developed some iViews, which are using RFC functions to get information from backend system, in this case SRM.
Everything worked fine, till the day we’ve transported those developments into other systems (production and testing systems). We are getting the following error Access denied (Object: com.sap.portal.system/security/no_safety). This error only comes out if the iView is called from inside another one, if called isolated it works fine.
Does any one have any idea about how to solve this?

Hi AA, you can find in the log file in order to identify what is the object that you need to add in the security zone.
You can find information for the security zones on:

  • Bug in Tab Control when inserted into SubPanel

Just would like to report about pretty old bug, which is still present in latest LabVIEW 2013 SP1 13.0.1f1.
I would like to insert SubVI with Tab Control into SubPanel, something like this:
When SubVI executed, then I will set it to Page 2:
Now what I've got in my SubPanel:
Page 2 is active, but selector is not actualized - still show me active Page 1. Fully inconsistent.
Not sure if it was reported already or not, but needs to be fixed from my point of view.

But yet another problem with tab controls...
Seriously though, if you are already using a subpanel why complicate matters with a tab control?
Dynamically swap VIs in and out of the subpanels to present the same user experience as there was with the tabs.
You're right - there are many ways to workaround about this bug. For example, if I will use Property Node instead of terminal or local variable, then it will working properly.
This contstruction with tab control in subpanel used in my settings dialog. I have modular plugin architecture, and some plugins may have settings, so they organised in the same way as LabVIEW Options dialog - listbox with installed plugins and subpanel, where according subvi from plugin is inserted. Mostly all plugins fit into my dialog (which is not resizible at this moment), but some modules have lot of settings - then they splitted into groups and the tab control is used (NI does this with vertical scrollbar, which is also not perfect).
When user made changes in settings, then last opened page is saved - when this dialog opened next time, then user should see last page - this is why I need to set page programmatically.
Really, I don't like to change whole architecture for workarounding bug in LabVIEW just for few modules. At this moment I using property node and it works for me.

  • Group Policy client Service Error - Access is denied

    I am
at domain admin working on windows 7 roaming profiles, testing with a
staff user.  I am in a domain environment.  I have changed the
profile path for a user to the folder I created for new windows 7 roaming
profiles.  gave it all the permissions noted here and followed these steps
at Microsoft's deploying roaming profiles page for win 7.<o:p></o:p>
once I logged in the user,
it created their profile.v2 but I still couldn't access it.  getting
access denied.  so I went back and changed the staff roaming profile back
to the original profile path.  didn't make any group policy changes.
but now she gets group policy client service failed to logon. access is
denied.  I have deleted the .v2 profile that win 7 creates in her old
profile path, moved her profile path back to what is was before testing,
retested her xp profile which does work and she can login and work.
but the win 7 machines no matter where she logs in, will not work.  they

    Hi,
Regarding the issue here, have you checked the below thread?
    Group
Policy Client Service Failed the logon - Access Denied: Windows 7 Ultimate/Server 2008 R2
Please take a try with the steps mentioned by Nina Liu.
    QUOTE here:
At this time, let’s refer to the following steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Open registry editor on the problematic Windows 7 machine (please log in as domain admin)
    2. Highlight HKEY_USERS, choose File -> Load Hive, browse to the location of one failing roaming profile and open NTUSER.DAT file, click open
    3. Under Key Name, enter any name you like, but remember what you have entered, such as enter "test"
    4. Expand, HKEY_USERS, you should see new registry hive called "test" or any name you entered earlier
    5. Right click on that "test" hive and choose permissions. Confirm that the following users have permissions:
    - Administrators: Full Control
    - SYSTEM: Full Control
    - User (or group) that owns this profile: Full Control
    6. If the permissions were wrong, correct them, then click on Advanced tab, on Advanced tab and enable "Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries
shown here that apply to child objects" and click Apply.
    7. Highlight "test" registry hive, then click on File -> Unload Hive to release handle on NTUSER.DAT file.
    8. Log off and log on with the failing roaming profile you have just modified.
Any process, please feel free to contact us.

  • Scale Object with Panel, but what about inside a Tab control?

The Scale Object with Panel option works very well for simple UI
objects.  I like to use it for VIs that display tables or
multicolumn listboxes, etc.  I am finding a limitation when I use
the Tab control.  If I have a table or listbox in each tab, I
would like them to scale with the panel.  I would also like the
tab to scale.  It should look like an Excel workbook where all
sheets scale with the window even though they are each on their own
tab.  If I could only Group the various tables / lists with the
    Tab itself....
This wouldn't be such an issue if the Bounds property of the
multicolumn listbox was writable.  I can set the number of rows
and columns, but column size can be variable and not uniform across all
columns.  Also, that solution looks and behaves much different
from the Scale Object with Panel approach.... not to mention the extra
    coding required.
I'm guessing that this amounts to a feature request, but if anyone has a present-version workaround, I'd love to hear about it.
    See you at NI Week!

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am running version 8.01. My problem is that i cannot select "Scale object with pane" for the controls inside a Tab control if the Tab control "Scale object with pane" is turned on. I want both the Tab control and the controls inside to be scaled, for instance an Waveform graph or an textbox  when i resize my main window.

  • Can't access Group Tabs, unresponsive script 6955 loop.

Tried to access group tabs and Firefox froze up along with everything else. Had to close Firefox using task manager via. Control/Alt/Delete. Once Firefox closed the rest of the computer worked. Now when opening Firefox I get "unresponsive script 6991". I press continue and I get "unresponsive script 6995" in a never ending loop. If I stop the script Firefox works, but I can't access Group Tabs. Also, in the middle of all of this Firefox updated to Ver. 28 from 27 something. I have rebooted my computer several times and searched the support topics but have not seen anything like this problem. The only thing I have come across to do that might help is reset Firefox. Wanted more info before I did.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Rename (or delete) the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Multiple_profile_files_created
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

  • Find control which has been "grouped" and dropped in a Tab control fails...

This one sounds like one I have already read about, but I doubt this qualifies as a "feature". I think it is an outright bug.
    Anyway here it goes:
    - drop two controls on the FP.
    - group them.
    - drop a Tab control, drag the grouped controls in it.
    - switch to the BD.
    - right-click one of the controls (not the Tab control, the other two) and try to "Find Control".
    - for a brief second, the control will be highlighted, but eventually, the Tab will be selected.
That's OK when the Tab is not cluttered with controls and when you are careful watching where the highlighted object is located, but I do not think that this is an intended behavior.
    Tested in LV 2011.

    Zing
I'm with you on this suggestion! At the time, I was pretty sure we'd found a bug so I grabbed a LabVIEW Expert to get his opinion. He was able to tell me that the code is not necessarily working incorrectly, but your situation might not have been taken into consideration during design. I'd say create a new thread on Idea Exchange to differentiate it from the other issue and get some Kudos on your post.

Please not already I have created KARTHIK schema.

    Arthik,
I think I know what may have happened.
As I can see you are trying to create support for an updateable materialized view.
You have to make sure the name of the schema that owns the materialized view is the same as the schema owner of the master table (at master site).
From the code you have shown, I bet the owner of table EMP is SCOTT.
From the other hand, you want to create materialized view EMP_MV under schema KARTHIK that refers to table SCOTT.EMP at master site.
According to the documentation, the schema name used in DBMS_REPCAT.CREATE_MVIEW_REPOBJECT must be same as the schema that owns the master table.
Please check the documentation at the link below
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14227/rarrcatpac.htm#i109228
I tried to reproduce your example in my environment, and I got exactly the same error which actually confirms my assumption that the reason for the error is the fact that you tried to create the materialized view in a schema with different name than the one where master table exists.
I'll skip some of the steps that I used to create the replication environment.
    I have two databases, DB1.world and DB2.world
On DB2.world I will generate replication support for table EMP which belongs to user SCOTT

So the problem is clearly in the schema name that owns the materialized view.
Now lets see if what would happen if I create the MV under schema SCOTT which has the same name as the schema on DB2.world where the master table exists.
    SQL>conn scott/****@DB1.world

      5         oname => 'EMP_MV',
      6         type => 'SNAPSHOT',
      7         min_communication => TRUE);
      8    END;
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed. As you can see everything works fine when the name of the schema owner of the MV at DB1.world is the same as the schema owner of the master table at DB2.world .

  • Hyper-V encountered an error trying to access an object on computer ...

I'd like to share an issue which occurred during one of my recent configurations as well as the associated solution which worked for me.
While configuring Hyper-V Manager on a non-domain joined Windows 8.1 Enterprise client, to communicate with a non-domain joined Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012R2, I received the following enjoyable message:
Hyper-V encountered an error trying to access an object on computer '.....' because the object was not found. The object might have been deleted. or you might not have permission to perform the task. Verify that the Virtual Machine Management service
on the computer is running. If the service is running, try to perform the task again by using Run as Administrator.
As it turns out I forgot to change the machine name on the Hyper-V server. It's worth noting that it's also necessary to add an entry in the client machine's HOSTS file which matches the computer name of the Hyper-V server.

    Hi ITMAGE,
Thanks for your sharing and support for this forum .

    how can I do it?

I know what a tab ontrols is, I just did not understand the "open" part. A tab control is not something that can be opened or closed.
Numbers are the values of the array. The word properties does not sound right in this context.
As I said, you can use an event structure. Create a mouse-down event on the tank and change the visible property of the tab control when it happens..

  • Error when re-starting an SQL Server Instance from VBA - [SQL-DMO]Service Control Error: Access is denied.

Our Application needs to have the use of the [Named Pipes] and [TCP/IP] Protocols.  To save our Users the hassle of having to enable them manually our application has always done it for them and then stopped and restarted SQL Server.  However
since the advent of Vista and Windows 7, the restart stopped working.  We solved the problem by detecting the failure to re-start and giving Users sufficient instructions for them to do it themselves.  Since this only occurs during installation on

            g_SQL_UseWindowsAuthentication, _
            SQLServerInstance, _
            UserName, _
            Password
This still works when run under XP, but fails under Windows 7 with the Error:
[SQL-DMO]Service Control Error: Access is denied.
Does anyone know how to resolve the problem?

    Hello Brian,
Under Windows 7 you have to run the VBA script with admin permission, a normal user don't have permissions to start/stop services.

  • Tab Control Property Node unknown error on TPC

I am using Lab View 8.6.  I am programming an HMI onto a TPC 2106.  I am using a Tab Control and it workls fine.  The problem is when I add a property node for the tab control to the block diagram.  I get an unknown error no matter which property I choose or if it is read or write.  I tried it on a vi destined for the computer and it works fine.  It seems to be an issue with the TPC 2106 as the destination.

    Hi vrundquist,
When compiling a VI for a TPC, there are many properties of controls and indicators that will not be supported.  Which properties specifically have you tried?  I want to be sure you are choosing a property that should be OK.  For example, try the Visible property.  Also, is there anything else going on in your code, or can you reproduce this with a VI that has nothing but a tab control?
