Error accessing library class

Hi,
I'm new to jdev coming from the eclipse world. I've got a problem when using a library (sapjco.jar).
Here is what I'm doing: build a news class, start writing
JCO.Client myConnection = JCO.createClien(....);
Next step is that jdev wants me to import the package com.sap.mw.jco.JCO which is ok. But after that it tells me that Member "Client" is not found in com.sap.mw.jco.JCO. Well, since I used exact this code with eclipse I know that this message is not true. I importet the library like described in the docs.
What am I doing wrong?
thanx, Mirco

ok, thanx. and here is a snippet of my code:
import com.sap.mw.jco.IFunctionTemplate;
import com.sap.mw.jco.JCO;
public class SAPConnection {
     JCO.Client mConnection;
     JCO.Repository mRepository;
     public SAPConnection() {}
* @webmethod
     public String getInfoFromBapi(String PersNummer) {
Client mconnection;
     try {
     JCO.Client mConnection = JCO.createClient(...);
     mConnection.connect();
     mRepository = new JCO.Repository("SAPJCo", mConnection);
no matter what I try, I always get an error, that Client could not be found. What is the difference in handling inner classes between eclipse and jdev?
any ideas?
thank you for your effort, mirco

  • In onLoad JavaScript, I'm getting "Error: Permission denied to access property 'classes'" when I access Components.classes; how do I enable that permission?

    I need to emulate several ActiveX functions in my client's web application. I have located several Mozilla web pages that describe how to do the things I need, and I have attempted to implement those instructions. However, I can't seem to get past the first line of code. In my web page, I am calling a JavaScript function using the onLoad attribute of the <body> tag. I am using the Navigator object to determine that the browser is Firefox. I then attempt to access the extension classes using the following code on lines 51 and 52 of the Download.js file:
    var C = Components;
    var CC = C.classes;
    The Web Console gives me these two messages:
    [13:51:55.621] The Components object is deprecated. It will soon be removed. @ http://distribution:781/NewDDI/DownLoad.js:51
    [13:51:55.621] Error: Permission denied to access property 'classes' @ http://distribution:781/NewDDI/DownLoad.js:52
    How do I enable adequate permission to be able to access the Components classes?

    I think Components is available only in extensions (or otherwise privileged code) and not in ordinary web pages.

  • Error accessing class from method

    I am trying to write a method that accesses a class called circle where the user inputs the radius of a circle and the program prints the area, radius and circumference.
    My class is as follows.
    public class Circle
    private double Radius;
    private double PI = 3.14159;
    public void setRadius(double rad)
    Radius = rad;
    public void setPI(double pi)
    PI = pi;
    public double getRadius()
    return Radius;
    public double getPI()
    return PI;
    public double getArea()
    return PI * Radius * Radius;
    public double getDiameter()
    return Radius * Radius;
    public double getCircumferance()
    return 2 * PI * Radius;
    I am not having any areas when compiling the class.
    The method is as follows.
    //IS 115
    //DED01
    //Method for Circle class
    //Larry Piatt
    public class CircleStats
    public static void main(String[] args)
    double number;
    Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
    Circle Radius = new Circle();
    Circle Area = new Circle();
    Circle Diameter = new Circle();
    Circle Circumference = new Circle();
    System.out.println("What is the radius of the circle? ");
    number = keyboard.nextDouble();
    number.setRadius(number);
    System.out.println("The area of the circle is "
    + Area);
    System.out.println("The diamter of the circle is "
    + Diameter);
    System.out.println("The circumference of the circle is "
    + Circumference);
    The error that I am seeing are as follows
    ^
    CircleStats.java:28: double cannot be dereferenced
    number.setRadius(number);

    This is my first attempt at writting a method that calls a class. I am not understanding it very well yet. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    1) your error: You're trying to call a method, setRadius, on the variable, number, which is nothing more than a lowly double primative variable. Better to call the method on your Circle object which here you call "Radius" (please note the Java naming convention: objects should begin with a lower-case letter).
    Also, when posting your code, please use code tags so that your code will retain its formatting and be readable. To do this, either use the "code" button at the top of the forum Message editor or place the tag &#91;code] at the top of your block of code and the tag &#91;/code] at the bottom, like so:
    &#91;code]
      // your code block goes here.
      // note the differences between the tag at the top vs the bottom.
    &#91;/code]or
    {&#99;ode}
      // your code block goes here.
      // note here that the tags are the same.
    {&#99;ode}Your formatted code would look something like so:
    public class Circle
        private double Radius;
        private double PI = 3.14159;
        public void setRadius(double rad)
            Radius = rad;
        public void setPI(double pi)
            PI = pi;
        public double getRadius()
            return Radius;
        public double getPI()
            return PI;
        public double getArea()
            return PI * Radius * Radius;
        public double getDiameter()
            return Radius * Radius;
        public double getCircumferance()
            return 2 * PI * Radius;
    import java.util.Scanner;
    class CircleStats
        public static void main(String[] args)
            double number;
            Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
            Circle Radius = new Circle();
            Circle Area = new Circle();
            Circle Diameter = new Circle();
            Circle Circumference = new Circle();
            System.out.println("What is the radius of the circle? ");
            number = keyboard.nextDouble();
            // number.setRadius(number);
            Radius.setRadius(number);
            System.out.println("The area of the circle is " + Area);
            System.out.println("The diamter of the circle is " + Diameter);
            System.out.println("The circumference of the circle is "
                    + Circumference);

  • Problem  Accessing Protocol Classes in INBOUND PROXY

    Hi guys.
    Im having problems accessing Protocol Classes in a inbound proxy.
    I have this code that is copied from:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a7/3b2a2d45a34a23b75e3b18745c63bc/frameset.htm
    DATA:  lo_server_context   TYPE REF TO if_ws_server_context,
                 lo_payload_protocol TYPE REF TO if_wsprotocol_payload.
    lo_server_context   = cl_proxy_access=>get_server_context( ).
    lo_payload_protocol =
         lo_server_context->get_protocol( if_wsprotocol=>payload ).
    But Im getting this error:
    The result type of the function method cannot be converted into the type lo_payload_protocol
    If I try to get the attachment protocol with this code:
    DATA: lo_server_context TYPE REF TO if_ws_server_context,
    lo_attachment_prtcl TYPE REF TO IF_WSPROTOCOL_ATTACHMENTS.
    lo_server_context = cl_proxy_access=>get_server_context( ).
    lo_attachment_prtcl = lo_server_context->get_protocol( if_wsprotocol=>ATTACHMENTS ).
    Im getting the same error.
    What am I doing wrong? It' s code copied fror SAP Library!!!
    Thanks a lot.

    hi,
    you are choosing wrong type for lo_payload_protocol.
    you must change like this
    lo_payload_protocol TYPE REF TO IF_WSPROTOCOL.

  • Accessing library code in ActionScript

    I am totally confused. I am modifying code written by someone
    else and need access to a class that is never created directly.
    What the author did was write a class and assign it to a library
    object using the Linkage Properties|AS 2.0 class. He creates a form
    using as the contentpath the library clip name (see attached code.)
    When the window is created, the frmPublishVideoStream object
    creates an instance of the class I need access to,
    "PublishVideoStreamForm". But I can't get to it in my code. It's
    not maintained anywhere, in fact, it is not referenced anywhere.
    The class has to be a property of the movie clip to which it's
    attached. But how do I get to it?
    If I can't access this class I'm going to have to go through
    a painful, and ugly process of closing all my open windows and
    reopening them. That will make for a very bad user experience.
    Can someone tell me how I access this? I know I can use
    getProperty to get the other properties such as allowMaximize. I
    tried getting the property "PublishVideoStreamForm", just in case
    the class goes in as a property under it's own name, but that
    didn't work. I get a compiler error, "Property name expected in
    GetProperty."
    Anyway, can this be accessed?

    PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!
    I did it in a unique way, though. Since I couldn't get what
    was suggested here to work, I created an array of objects in my
    main session class. In the constructor for my inaccessible class, I
    have it add a reference to itself. I can then walk through the list
    of windows and have access to the individual instances anytime I
    want.
    It's a round about way, but whatever works!
    Thanks for your help.

    For those who would have the same problem, here is how I could eventually fix it.
    Since the Flex Test Drive is sometimes out of sync with flash builder 4, I recreated a project using other help pages on Adobe site :
    Entry point :
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/AccessingData/WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-668f02f4120d422cf08- 7ffd.html
    As suggested, I used the New Project wizard to create a new project, with :
    Application server type : J2EE
    Check the radio button "Use remote object access service : BlazeDS"
    Then, as indicated in following pages (section "Accessing BlazeDS")... :
    file:///C:/Mes%20documents%20C/Commun/Developpement/Documentation/HT-Tracks/AccessingData/ help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/AccessingData/WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-668f02f4120d422cf08-7ffe.ht ml#WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-19a3f0e0122be55e1b7-8000
    ...I selected the "Data / Connect to Data/Services..." menu option, which started the Data/service connection wizard.
    There, I selected a BlazeDS (and not Web Services) service type, and everything went fine.
    Suggestion to adobe staff : maybe it would be useful to update the Flex Test Drive to reflect Flash Builder 4 ?
    Very nice product anyway, so far, congratulations...
    Rgds
    Marc.

  • How to access a class file outside the package?

    created a two java files Counter.java and TestCounter.java as shown below:
    public class Counter
         public void print()
              System.out.println("counter");
    package foo;
    public class TestCounter
         public static void main(String args[])
              Counter c = new Counter();
              c.print();
    Both these files are stored under "D:\Test". I first compiled Counter.java and got Counter.class which resides in folder "D:\Test"
    when i compile TestCounter.java i got the following error message:
    D:\Test>javac -classpath "d:\Test" -d "d:\Test" TestCounter.java
    TestCounter.java:6: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class Counter
    location: class foo.TestCounter
    Counter c = new Counter();
    ^
    TestCounter.java:6: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class Counter
    location: class foo.TestCounter
    Counter c = new Counter();
    ^
    2 errors
    what could be the problem. Is it possible to access a class file outside the package?

    ya that's fine..if we have two java files where both resides in the same package works fine or two java files which donot have a package statement also works fine. But my doubt is, i have a Counter.class which does not reside in a package and i have a TestCounter.class which resides in a package "foo", in such a scenario, how do i tell to the compiler that "Counter.class resides in such a path, please look at that and give me TestCounter.class". i cannot use import statement to import Counter.class in TestCounter.java because i donot have a package for Counter.java.

  • Class not Found when accessing Proxy class from backing bean in VC.

    Hi All,
    I'm attempting to access a class of a webservice(generated as a proxy) within my ADF application and invoke the method within a backing bean of the View Controller(bean scope : backing bean). The proxy has generated an ObjectFactory class among other classes. When I access this Object factory class from within the backing bean, the application throws a Class not found error.
    I don't know where the error lies since I've declared the View Controller of the ADF application dependent on the Proxy and I've imported the class and accessing it within a backing bean. How would you suggest I approach resolveing this.
    JDev : 1.1.1.4
    Thank you.
    Regards
    PP.

    Hello Arun,
    Thank you for suggesting a Data control, but my requirement isn't to drag and drop the method as a button. It's more of a behind the scnes updating data via a database adapter requirement.
    I've resolved the issue. turns out, my deployment archive didn't include the proxy.jpr. Once included it works likea charm.
    Thanks

  • Run time error while using Class gcl_error

    Hi All,
    I am getting run time error while using class gcl_error
                                          type REF to zsreport_error_handling:
    '' Attempt to access a component using 'NULL' object reference (points to nothing).
    An object reference must point to an object ( an instance of a class) before you can use it to access components ( variable : ''GCL_ERROR'').
    Either the reference point has not yet been set or it has been reset to 'NULL' by a clear statement."
    Can you please suggest any solution for this ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Error about base class not being found in custom class when extending

    I have gone through the process of extending the base View Object oracle.apps.icx.lov.server.ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVO. My extension object is: snl.oracle.apps.icx.lov.server.SnlExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVO. The extension was done to change the query used in this LOV. I get the following 3 compile errors when I rebuild my project. Error: can't read: C:\JDevOAframework\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\icx\lov\server\ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl.java
    Error(2,35): cannot access class oracle.apps.icx.lov.server.ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl; file oracle\apps\icx\lov\server\ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl.class not found
    Error(10,60): class ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl not found in class snl.oracle.apps.icx.lov.server.SnlExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl
    I have the oracle.apps.icx.lov.server package in my project and it has the following 3 files in it:
    ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVO.xml
    ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl.class
    ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl.java
    I do not have the last file (the .java one) on my local drive under C:\JDevOAframework\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\icx\lov\server.
    Is the .java file not supposed to be in the package? I'm not sure how it got there since we don't have access to it on the server, etc.
    If anyone has any suggestions your help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Paula

    The second 2 errors were solved by copying the ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl.class to my myclasses directory under oracle/apps/icx/lov/server and then recompiling.
    I'm still not sure why an empty .java file was added to my project causing the first error. I was doing this extension on a machine with Windows 2000 and I had created a new workspace (other than toolbox.jws) when I got this error. When I did the same extension on a machine with Windows XP and in the toolbax.jws workspace, the empty .java file didn't get added to my project and I didn't get the first compile error. Not sure if one of these variables was the cause.

  • Compilation Error for import classes not found in generated Proxy Class

    Hi,
    We are generating java classes for the COM dll using JCOM com2java compiler.
    We are getting a compilation error for import class not found when compiling the
    generated Proxy java source code. It can't find the com.bea.jcom.Dispatch class that
    the generated Proxy java source code extends. It also can't find com.bea.jcom.Variant
    or com.bea.jcom.Param. These are interfaces or data types or classes used by COM
    library.
    I added weblogic.jar to my class path and the only Dispatch class i found inside
    the weblogic.jar is com.linar.jintegra.Dispatch;
    We have com objects for which we want to develop an EJB client to interface with
    the COM object using JCOM with Native Mode disabled.
    Any help on the compilation error..I tried changing the extends for Dispatch to com.linar.jintegra.Dispatch
    but the other errors are still there.
    To begin with, I think the generated code should not refer to any of the COM data
    types.
    Any help please.
    Thank you in advance,

    Hi,
    I resolved the other errors by changing all references from com.bea.jcom.Variant
    etc to com.linar.jintegra.class name..all were present under the com.linar.jintegra
    package.
    Thank you all anyways,

    Error Message : ClassCastExcption : jartest1 cannot be cast to ThingPresumably we can only hope that that is a transciption error. It always helps to use copy and past actual errors and code rather than manually typing them.
    test.jar contains jartest.class and Thing.classWrong.
    The interface class and plugable class must not be in the same jar.
    A plugable interface requires two components
    - Interface (generic sense)
    - Functional components.
    The Interface must be independant (own jar) so that it is available to the framework (user of plugin) and to the functional components. And the plugable component must not be on the java class path.
    This also means that we know for certain that the plugable component is also on the system class path. That is a bad idea as well.
    Given that it is pretty pointless to even speculate as to why this error is showing up. Create the correct jar layout. Test using the command line. Then test using servlets. Insure that the plugable jar is NOT on the java classpath for both tests.

  • Accessing Java Classes from Webservice Stubs

    So far I have been able to call a web service and copy the appropriate directories and files to the designated class path.  I can also successfully access a class file like this:
    MyObject = CreateObject("java", "ca.x.y.z.TestCollection.TestItem");
    However, whenever I try to do something with that variable, I get a white screen.  Any text that should have appeared before the command, will appear, but nothing appears afterwards, not even debugging info.  Here are a couple of commands that will cause this to happen.
    <cfdump var = "#MyObject#">
    MyObject = CreateObject("java", "ca.x.y.z.TestCollection.TestItem").init();
    x = MyObject.init();
    Anybody have any ideas?

    Ah, nothing like a fresh set of eyes to remind of the fundamentals.  Thank you for that.
    I actually could create a normal error by calling a method incorrectly.  I would see the grey box and my debgging info would appear.  However, if I did something I expected to succeed, it would seem to stop.  Any text above that command would appear.  No error message, no de-bugging.
    But I didn't think to look in our error log.  I see things like:
    Could not initialize class com.microsoft.schemas._2003._10.Serialization.Arrays.ArrayOfstring
    or
    org.apache.axis.description.TypeDesc.(Ljava/lang/Class;Z)V
    At least it's not a mystery anymore.  Thanks again for suggesting the error log.

  • Accessing java classes from javascript

    Hi,
    I have the following javascript function
    function testjava {
        var myString = new java.lang.String("Hello world"); // line 1
        alert("len:"+myString.length()); // line 2
    }It gives me a error at line 1 saying "'java' is undefined" in IE browser 5.5 sp2. But, both the lines execute correctly in netscape 6.
    Can someone please help..
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

    It seems that IE 5.5 doesn't support accessing java classes in JavaScript, so try to install IE 6 to see if it works or maybe, you doesn't have installed propertly support for JVM in IE.
