Error: Can't fetch initial working directory at...

Hello all,
I was messing around using GRID control to fire off RMAN jobs...and I was doing a full backup, used as an level 0 incremental, but, after I fired it off...I found I'd forgotten to set the job to use the RMAN catalog...
At the end of the run I got the following error:
Recovery Manager complete.
Can't fetch initial working directory at /u01/GRID/oracle/10.2.0/agent10g/perl/lib/5.8.3/File/Temp.pm line 858
Can someone tell me what this means? I've done some googling but haven't found anything on this error...is the backup good or did it fail?
Thanks
cayenne

You may want to check Bug #5649288
The backup itself should still be OK, but you should check the log output in the Jobs link of Grid.

  • Getting CoolType invalid font error 'can't fetch cmaps' for font MyriadPro–Regular when adding text box or text callout

    Just updated Acrobat X Pro on Mac to v10.1.10
    Now if I try to add a text box or a text callout (text box with arrow) I get a popup error saying "CoolType invalid font error 'can't fetch cmaps' for font MyriadPro–Regular"
    Any ideas much appreciated.

    Hi oscar18,
    This is usually caused due to corrupt/ invalid font libraries.
    On your Mac, open up 'Font Book' and follow the instructions below:
    Hit Cmd + A to select all fonts as shown above
    Click on File > Validate Fonts
    This will open up the Font Validator that will scan all your fonts and will notify you if there are any corrupt fonts. If you do see any corrupt font libraries, please remove/ delete those fonts from your computer. Then try opening Acrobat and check.

  • How can I get the working directory of a project from an Annotation Processor in Java

    I am writing an annotation processor in Java and in this annotation processor I want to be able to find a file in the Project hierarchy of the project on which I am using this annotation processor. Through the annotation I can pass in the path of the file I am searching for relative to the project root but i cannot retrieve the project's working directory.
    Let's say that the processor is MyCustomProcessor and I am using it on the project MyProject. I want to be able to access(read) a file (a properties file) from the project structure of MyProject from the "process" method of MyCustomProcessor.
    I have read this link Eclipse - Annotation processor, get project path but when I use their solution I get a null returned from the StandardJavaFileManager.getLocation(StandardLocation.SOURCE_PATH) call.
    Some more details regarding the implementation:
    MyAnnotationProcessor:
    @SupportedAnnotationTypes(value = {"MyAnnotation" })
    @SupportedSourceVersion(RELEASE_6)
    public class MyCustomProcessor extends AbstractProcessor {
    @Override public boolean process(final Set<? extends TypeElement> annotations, final RoundEnvironment roundEnv) {
    for (final Element element : roundEnv.getElementsAnnotatedWith(MyAnnotation.class)) {
    <!-- Here is where I would like to get the working directory !-->
    More details about the testing and development environment: Eclipse Kepler, JRE 1.7.
    If you need more details just ask.

    There is an identical post with an answer located at this link.

  • Configurator error "can't fetch document"

    We just rolled out 130 iPads in our school using Configurator and AirWatch.  Of course a day later I was asked to update some apps that we side loaded using Configurator.  Unfortunately when I plug in the iPads and hit "refresh device"  I get an error stating "can't fetch document", the details say:
    This stops me from backing up the device or updating apps.  At this point I can't do anything.
    I tried removing all profiles but that didn't help.
    I don't want to wipe the devices as the students just got them and have some documents saved already.
    Has anyone seen this problem before?  Thanks for any help.
    JP

    Jason, thanks for the reply. I have not yet identified the offending App. I deployed a number of iPads, shortly after doing so I collected them to make a profile change. Almost 50% of them come up with the error just before the profiles are installed. It will update Apps, and the iOS, but you can't check in the device or apply new profiles. I suspect that for my iPads that updated in Configurator without an error, that the offending App had not yet been used. I've not yet had the time to delete Apps to find out which one might be the offender as the iPads had to go back into service right away.

  • [SOLVED] Gnome: initial working directory set to / instead of HOME

    Solved: See commentary #6
    Hi there,
    Since some weeks ago, don't know what I touched, everything starts from the root directory instead of starting from the home directory. That is, file managers, consoles, emacs, etc. start always in the root directory when searching for a file. I don't know why!
    I have HOME properly adjusted and if I write "cd" in a console I go to home. Is there any other variable that controls the directory to start with?
    Thanks

    OK, I found the problem... quite stupid. I had all the commands that I typically use (I only use shortcuts, never the mouse) bound with gnome keybindings. Somehow the commands start with the working directory in /, and that was the problem.
    Solutions for Gnome:
    -Use another program for keybindings.
    -A quite poor workaround. Create an executable to call your commands:
    #!/bin/bash
    cd && $1
    and it will force the working directory to HOME
    -Gnome working properly??
    //thanks @anonymous for your support

  • Can't get current working directory

    I can't figure out how to get the current directory my applet is running from. I want to loop through the currentdirectory/folderA. Below is my code:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.lang.*;
    import javax.swing.JApplet;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.net.*;
    public class Refresh4 extends JApplet{
         String curDir = System.getProperty("user.dir");
        String myFile = curDir+"/folderA";//folderA within the directory that the applet is in
        File f = new File(myFile);
        long orig;
        long upd=0;
        long comp=0;
        javax.swing.Timer timer;
        int j = 1;
         public void init(){//initial run class, runs create gui once and sets up timer
            try {
                javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable() {
                    public void run() {
            } catch (Exception e) { }
            timer = new javax.swing.Timer(2000,taskPerformer);//runs every 2 seconds
              timer.start();//starts timer
      ActionListener taskPerformer = new ActionListener() {//called by timer every 2 seconds, executes FileReader
          public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) {
               j++;
               FileReader(j);
    public void FileReader(int j){//reads all files in directory and checks their modified time/date
         File[] files = f.listFiles();
              for (int i=0;i<files.length;i++){
                   File nFile = files;
                   orig = nFile.lastModified();
                   if (orig>upd){
                        upd = orig;
              if(upd>comp){
                   comp = upd;
                   if(j>2){
                   try {
                        getAppletContext().showDocument
                        (new URL("javascript:doAlert(\""+j+"\")"));
                   catch (MalformedURLException me) { }

    String curDir = System.getProperty("user.dir");That does get the current directory.
    However, your applet should not "need" to know this, nor rely on it. If you want to open resources (such as graphic images), those resources should be packaged with the applet (like in a jar file on the server), and the applet would get them using codebase- or classpath- based APIs -- not file system-based APIs.

  • [Weird Error!!] Insufficent space in working directory when create db clone

    Hi guys,
    I met a problem when creating Oracle database clone by EM 10.2.0.3 TC9
    Target Oracle Database is 10.2.0.2 version and on RH Linux Enterprise Server 3.0
    I selected right host to clone, and gave username/password, and working directory. When pressed finish button, I got error message "Insufficient space in working directory to create the clone component. The estimated space required to archive this home is {1} MB."
    I used df command to check harddisk space, and on EM Server
    /dev/sda2 29G 19G 9.3G 67% /
    none 502M 0 502M 0% /dev/shm
    Now I am blocked, and I never met this problem when on EM 10.2.0.2
    Message was edited by:

    The working directory has enough space. Maybe EM cannot estimate the size of db_home, so it failed to make db clone. I reinstalled RAC on another machine, and succeed in retrieving db clone. Now, I still keet meeting this problem.

    Assuming that you are in Win (which you haven't said), you can try using this tool to first remove all traces of previous versions of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    Then, download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    and run it immediately after restarting your computer.
