Error Code 5 Help - Can you recover a damaged file?

I've been working on a document in indesign that I've been saving on a regular basis. Tonight, my file cannot be opened as it is damaged / corrupt. Error Code: 5
Anyone know how to fix this or software that works to fix and recover damaged files?
Re-doing file is not an option as hours, and hours of work went into document.
The document is a journal of my sons 1st year. it contains text and lots, and lots of photos.

Hi,
Re-booting was very first thing I did. Closed down everything and re-stared machine. After that still didn't allow me to open file, I even tried a software upgrade.
I had a look on google and came across a recovery site Marzware. It looks like some people have had success recovering files for a small fee so going to give this a go if I still can't get open file.

You need to reinstall it properly, not use migration.

Make sure you are using current iTunes on your computer. Click the iTunes Tab at the top of this page. Or try to Restore your iPhone with a different computer.

Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.

Try this.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache/Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
