Error communicating with FTP server....

Hey everyone,
I registered a domain through GoDaddy.com two days ago, but only finally settled down with a host yesterday (Monday). My free host is byethost.com. After signing up for a host, adding my domain, and changing the domain's DNS's, I am aware that there is a period of time for "propagation." Using iWeb 09, I have been trying to upload my site via ftp (obviously), using the settings and information Byethost has given me. However, iWeb always comes back saying that there was an error in communication. Do I need to wait until the DNS propagation is completely done (as it is not at the time of this post)? Or, is there something I am missing? Thank you for your help and I'll be glad to send along any info necessary!
BTW: The "Test Connection" button works perfectly and says I can upload. hmmm...nope
Jordan

You should be able to upload your files as this has nothing to do with the domain name.
The iWeb FTP is not exactly the world's best!
Try downloading the freeware Cyberduck if you don't have an FTP application.

However the data is being saved in forms central. I can't duplicate the issue on my end but it seem to be happing frequently with other users.

Do you mind emailing the URL of your fillable form to me ([email protected]).
I would like to investigate as to what the issue might be with Internet Explorer.

    Hello,
While trying to edit device credentials, I got this error from DCR:
Error in communicating with DCR  Server.
DCR Server may be down. Please start the DCR Server and then refresh  the page.
But when I checked the DCRServer process status from Process Status Report and the Process List, it's Running normally.
What could be the problem? The CiscoWorks server runs 3.0.1 (December 2007 Update). Attached are pdshow command output, dcr and DCRServer logs

  • An error has occurred. There was an error communicating with the server. Please try again later.

I have a simple form which allows users to submit receipts as attachments.  I have some required identifying information (name, etc.) and then three optional slots for attachments, along with optional text boxes for descriptions.  The form tests fine with attachments on my computer and on a couple other computers we tested with.
However, I am getting complaints from several users that they see the following message when they hit "Submit": "An error has occurred. There was an error communicating with the server. Please try again later."  Any ideas why this might be or how I can fix it?

  • Error communicating with AdobeID server - DAY 3

So, I'm trying to activate the Digital Editions of Adobe on my MacBook, but I keep getting this darned message:Error communicating with AdobeID server. Please try again later.
What in the world is happening? I've been trying to get this to work for nearly 3 days. My classes will begin soon, and I'm REQUIRED to have this Adobe Digital Editions in order to download my books. WTH?! Can someone please help me get around this problem please?
    Thank,
    Monique

I'm getting the same problem. I'm in the UK
My error message is: E_AUTH_DATABASE_CONSISTENCY http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/SignInDirect AdobeID
    (I have removed my ID)

  • When I try to access GameCenter on my Mac it says "The requested operation could not be completed due to an error communicating with the server." How can I fix this?

When I try to access GameCenter on my Mac it says "The requested operation could not be completed due to an error communicating with the server." How can I fix this?

This usually caused by a customised hosts file.
These need to be the only entries in your /etc/hosts file:-
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1       localhost
    255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
    ::1             localhost
    fe80::1%lo0     localhost
Remove anything below these entries, then try and reconnect with GC. Once GC starts properly you can put the extra entries back in your hosts file, GC should start normally afterwards.

  • "Error communicating with AdobeID server"

Every time I try to authorize my ADE, I keep getting this error message:
"Error communicating with AdobeID server. Please try again later.
    E_ADEPT_IO AddSignInDirect Error%20#2032"
I've tried to authorize it more times than I can count over the past few weeks - anyone know what I can do to fix it?
It used to work just fine, but then I started getting error messages on any books I tried to download and nothing I did would fix it, so I tried uninstalling then reinstalling and it won't let me authorize it now (I tried authorizing with a different ID too, to see if that was the problem but it wouldn't work).

    Hi,
As per the error message that you are getting E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEYplease follow the steps as given below.
    1) Open Adobe Digital Editions.
    2) Press Ctrl+Shift+D key of your Keyboard and deauthorize Digital Editions
    3) Move your e-books to some different Location.
    4) uninstall Adobe Digital Editions from your computer.
Click start>>Control Panel>>Add or remove Program
Select Adobe Digital Editions from the list and Delete.
    5) Also delete following files.
        Click Start>>Run
Type "regedit" without quotes in the box and hit enter.
Locate the following key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Adobe>Digital Editions"
delete the full folder (Right click on it and click delete).
         Also locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Adobe>Adept
         Delete the full folder.
    6) Now download and install Adobe Digital Editions from the link given below.
         http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/
    7) When asked to authorize computer then please enter same Adobe ID and password and authorize the same.
I hope this will help you!!!

  • Error communicating with AdobeID server. E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY

Running Digital editions 1.5 on an Ibook G4 with OSX version 10.4.11
Installed digital editions, downloaded my book. Started reading, then needed to reboot machine. once I rebooted, I tried to open ADE once more, but I again had to "reactivate" the machine... once I try to reactive it I keep n getting stuck (whether I chose to authorize or not authorize the machine is irrelevant) on the same error...
    Activate Digital Editions
Error communicating with AdobeID server. Please try again later.
    E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY
what's going on? When can I read my book? Is your server down? does this happen often? Is this related to the version of ADE?

    Carolina,
    regarding the E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY error...
We can't tell you -exactly- what this is, but we can give you some general direction.
On the Mac, Digital Editions 1.5 stores an encryption key (to make sure our client to server calls are secure) in your OS X Keychain.
If there is a problem creating this key then E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY is the error you'd see.
The key information is stored as an application password in your keychain. Likely causes of failure include denying access to Digital Editions, or locking your user keychain, and not entering their password when prompted.
If you're denying access explicitly to Digital Editions, well don't do that (ha. )
Now, you may not be doing this intentionally. The access permissions on OS X are complicated, so this could be a side effect of some other permission work. You can explicitly grant Digital Editions access to the the keychain item:
    Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities)
    Select Passwords from Category
Select Digital Editions from password list
Click info button (or press Cmd+i)
(Dialog labeled Digital Editions should appear)
    Select Access Control tab
    Click + button
Navigate to our install directory and select ADE 1x5
    Click Save
    Close Dialog
    Launch Digital Editions.
Anyway, hopefully this helps you narrow the issue down.

  • IWeb communication with FTP serve

I am trying to publish from iWeb to an FTP server. I have done this before with no problem. But using all the same settings, to update the site and replace pages, I keep getting the message,
    PUBLISH ERROR
There was an error communicating with the FTP server try again later, or check with your service provider.
I have tried later for a week, with no luck.
I have checked with the service provider who confirms all is ok.
I have checked all the settings. The field path is blank, but I never filled this in the past and filling it now just brings up the message, path not recognised.
When I test the connection in iWeb (With path left blank) it confirms I can publish.
When I publish, it prepares the files and tells me publishing will continue in the background. Then after a while the message error message appears. It feels as if it is getting stuck.
I did try going round iWEB by using iWeb to create the site, publishing it to the local folder and then using classic FTP uploading the site to the host server URL. It works, but with errors and 404 messages leaving some pages either marked as 404 errors and others with bits missing.
    Anyone got any thoughts.

Try publishing to a local folder and then uploading your site with either Cyberduck or Transmit and see if this makes a difference.
Check that all your files are being uploaded too - error messages can occur due to this.
If you are sure that you have done everything correctly - publishing your site to a local folder, and then filling in the correct username, password and ftp details in either Cyberduck and Transmit and checking to see that all files have been uploaded to whichever folder you need to upload them to - public_html, htdocs or whatever, then I would suggest that you contact your hosts technical support department to see why you keep getting error messages.
Do you have Linux or Windows hosting? Linux is always better for iWeb sites, so if you have Windows then try and change it.

  • Error during publication / communication with FTP server

When I check the upload connection, everything is OK. But during uploads, I always get error messages when they seem completed, plus the helpful hint to try again later or to contact my FTP admin.

Try uploading with the freeware Cyberduck.....
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/SearchEngines/Upload.html
If that doesn't work and you are convinced that the settings are correct, contact your hosting service's tech support. You are using a Linux host and encoding using Unicode (UTF-8} - aren't you?
