Error configuring 8i for BC4J support

I'm trying to set up my 8i database for BC4J/JBO support and I am receiving error messages. My OS is Win 2000, Oracle DB is 8.1.6 and I have JDeveloper 3.0 and 3.1 installed.
Below is the command sequence I'm using and error message I am getting. Obviously, something is not set up correctly but I have no clue as to what it might be.
All suggestions gratefully accepted:
=====
1) This seems to work
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.0\bin>setjboenv "c:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.0" 8i
Setting JDeveloper runtime environment to "c:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.0"
Setting JDK version 1.1 in "c:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.0\java"
Setting JBO runtime environment (Deployment is 8i)
=====
2) This fails:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1\bin>setjboenv "c:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1" 8i
Setting JDeveloper 1.2 runtime environment to "c:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1"
Files\Oracle\JDeveloper was unexpected at this time.
=====
3) In 3.0, fails with "can't find class" message:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.0\lib>loadjava -u bc4j/bc4j@localhost:1521:v8i -thin -v -r -grant SYS,PUBLIC xmlparserv2.jar

Blaise, thanks for the response. In my haste (and perhaps cos I was in the middle of a BC4J training class) I didn't explain the problem clearly in the topic, but you're correct and I want to deploy EJB objects to my 8.1.6 database.
Here's the result of your suggestion:
=====
C:\>cd c:\program files\oracle\jdeveloper 3.1\bin
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1\bin>.\setjboenv "C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1" 8i
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1\bin>call "C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1\bin\setvars" "C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1"
Setting JDeveloper 1.2 runtime environment to "C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1"
Setting JDK version 1.2 in "C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.1\java1.2"
Setting JBO runtime environment (Deployment is 8i with ORACLE)
The input line is too long.
The syntax of the command is incorrect.
=====
so basically, I think I might need to deinstall JDev 3.1 and reinstall in a directory with a shorter path name.
What do you think?
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Blaise (JDeveloper team):
Jeremy,
First, you only need to load the JBO archives into your 8i database if you want to deploy your BC4J application module to the database as an EJB or CORBA object. Otherwise you don't need to do anything special to your database to make it work with a BC4J application.
Second, if you have an 8.1.6 database, and you do want to deploy your application module to the database, you can only do so with JDeveloper 3.1 (for JDeveloper 3.0 you must deploy to 8.1.5).
I'm not sure why your second setjboenv is not working. Perhaps your path is set up in such a way that you are not calling the local copy of setjboenv.bat. To make sure, you could do .\setjboenv instead of just setjboenv.

/usr/ccs/bin/as: Sun WorkShop 6 update 2 Compiler Common 6.2 Solaris_9_CBE 2001/04/02Note that the last 2 lines seem to suggest that a Sun assembler is used as the back-end of gcc. I am not sure whether the failure to compile the first file (with __thread) was due to the incompatibility of this Sun assembler. In the first case, the error msg was emitted before these 2 lines are printed.
I further read a post about gcc 3.3.3's inability to compile code that has __thread in it, on a HP-UX 11.11: http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=109447627+1216595175060+28353475&threadId=1148976 The conclusion seems to suggest that "the 2.17 GNU assembler did not support thread local storage" and gcc sees that and thus disallows TLS.
If the assembler is the culprit, then does anyone know whether this "Sun WorkShop 6 update 2" assembler in my installation can work with TLS? And how come a Sun assembler becomes the back-end of gcc? I read that gas (the GNU assembler) is the default backend of gcc. (How) can one specify the assembler to be used for gcc?
As an aside, I am able to compile my file on this same Solaris 9/UltraSparc platform using the Sun Studio 12 C Compiler:
    xz@gamera% cc -V -# -D_REENTRANT  -c -o func_stack.o func_stack.c

Just as another comparison, I compiled a file without __thread on the Solaris 9/UltraSparc platform using gcc 4.0.4. Not surprisingly it worked. But I no longer see the mention of the Sun assembler as in the case of gcc 3.4.4. Nor did I see the mention of "GNU assembler" as in the case of gcc 4.0.4/Solaris 10/x86. Instead, I saw something called "iropt" and "cg". Does anyone know what they are?

  • The installer encountered errors before apple mobile device support could be configured

I'm having issues with installing apple mobile device support. Every time I try to install apple mobile device support I get this annoying message:
the installer encountered errors before apple mobile device support could be configured
I have tried these two ideas with no luck.
Had this issue, and none of the solutions above worked, here is what I did to fix the issue, Install Itunes like you normally would, admin rights ect. When you get the error message "Itunes errors occurred during installation before itunes could be configured" do not click finish, leave that folder up, no navigate to your appdata directory such as example C:\Users\Your Username\appdata\local\temp, inside there look for a file called iTunes64Setup.log or iTunes32Setup1850.log, open that up and scroll down, look for these key things as in example, "Executing: "C:\windows\system32\msiexec.exe" /i "C:\Users\Crusisxx\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP593.TMP\iTunes64.msi" INSTALL_SUPPORT_PACKAGES=1" so I would navigate inside the folder in my temp called "IXP593.TMP, there you will find all the installation packages, copy all of those files and paste either on your desktop or a new folder ect, once done you can now click finish on the failed itunes installer, now whether or not where ever you decided to place your files you copied from that temp folder you will want to run Itunes64.msi or Itunes.msi ect, and run the installer, you should now have successfully of installed Itunes.
Itunes 11.1.1 Errors occurred during installation...
I got it. I just first uninstalled iTunes then this:
1.Open up the Command Prompt as an Administrator (Go to All Programs > Accessories and Right Click on Command Prompt and then choose Run as administrator)
    2.Type cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64
3.Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll (This registers VB Script with your computer.)
4.Now install iTunes as you normally would by double clicking on the install program and wait for iTunes to finish installing.
5.Type regsvr32 /u vbscript.dll (This unregisters VB Script with your computer.)
Re: "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed."
What else can I do and why is it not working?

Try this: Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Shared VHDX on CSV... Error opening handle for initiator The request is not supported.

Hi. Im having an issue in my lab testing out the shared vhdx functionality of 2012 R2.
The hardware is as follows2x HP DL380G5 with 2xHP P800 Smart Array controllers 2x500GB SATA SSD 2x1TB SATA HDD. Ive used Starwind to create 2 Cluster Shared Volumes on which my shared VHDX files are.
The issue im having is that after the creation of shared vhdx files (3-4 hours) any failover change in the vm configuration will result in Error opening handle for initiator. Initiator: {460b2b45-2f5a-485f-b045-60b68b655895}. Hostname: HYPERV1. File: \SQL QUORUM.VHDX:SHAREDVIRTUALDISK.
Error: The request is not supported..
Ive set the ISCSI sync adapters to "dont allow cluster and client communication" and prevented it being registered in dns (nslookup only shows one ip) yet every shared vhdx has this issue.
Can anyone suggest if this is a hardware issue or software ? It is such a timesaver compared to multipath io and iscsi on the guests id like to get it working.

Ok I figured out how to fix this issue, After searching the code online I found a post about someone trying to use this feature and getting the same error code with the vhds on the iscsi disks of a consumer nas which didn't support kerberos authentication.
Even though I had the cluster setup so the iscsi sync network was set to "do not allow cluster communication" and not used for live migration it was still trying to use this network for the shared vhdx.
The cause was the network binding order which had the iscsi nic above the server one. After putting the 10.0.0.x server adapter on top and rebooting no more messages appeared in the shared vhdx event log section and failover of the guest
    clusters worked.
Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.

  • The boot configuration data for your Pc is missing or contains errors: error code 0x000014c

    Hello,
See if any body may help here... I get this blue screen:
    RECOVERY
Your PC needs to be repaired:
The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors.
    file:\\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD
    Error code: 0xc000014c
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.
Press Esc for UEFI Firmware Settings
First I was able to get into the option 11 and run the whole factory reset, i was so happy because I tought it will be easy.. but then after I did the factory reset.. I keep getting this blue screen. if I press ESC I get into this next screen:
    F1 System Information
    F2 System Diagnostics
    F9 Boot Device Options
    F10 BIOS Setup
    F11 System Recovery
    ENTER - Continue Startup.
this is what happen when I click any of this options:
F1 I get into the System Information with no problems, then I click <ESC> to continue and get back to the last screen... then I press F2 and super, I am able to run Memory Test and Hard Drive Check 100% with no problems in any of those, after I am done with my teste I press exit and I am back to the F1,F2, ETC menu... now I want to try F9, F10 or F11. bummer.. in this 3 options I get back to the blue screen described at the beggining of this post. (I already connect a USB with an boot loader, which works perfectly)
so I can't do anything, nothing at all!! crazzines.
So what I did to check why I can't get into the BIOS or at least to boot from my USB... I removed the botton cover of my laptop and removed the hard drive and that's how then I was or I am able to Log into the BIOS, - I did the changes to boot first from the USB and then from the HD and this is how I was able to boot from the USB - BUT If I connect back the Hard drive, I am not able to get into the BIOS or boot from the USB - so basically I am stuck in this blue screen and I can't boot from a USB if I have the HD connected.. I can't use any option.. no BIOS, nothing.. only if again, i disconnect the HD.
    This is an:
    HP ENVY TS Sleekbook 4
    PRODUCT NUMBER  D1A99UA#ABA
    SYSTEM BOARD ID: 1894
    Bios F.25
**** I though that by updating the BIOS I may be able to get help, nothing. What I did is, I removed the HD and then and boot from the USB and with a DOS command propmt I excecuted the Bios Update from F.21 to f.25... but again, when I installed the hard drive back, BUMMER, nothing I can't do nothing but this silly blue screen.
Any idea of what should I do?
    Thanks in advance.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

If you can't access BIOS with the hard disk connected, you certainly won't be able to boot to the usb recovery flashdrive. That is indicative of a failed hard disk.
Install a new hard disk and then boot to the recovery flashdrive.

  • Error message while creating configurable material for variant configuration.

    Dear All,
I want to create configurable material for the purpose of variant configuration. When trying to create configurable material using mm 01 or mm k1, it is displaying an error message that internal number assignment is not possible for the material type configurable materials as well in using external number also. Can anyone specify the steps to be done in creating the configurable material. Thank you all.
    Regards
    Akula Sivaji Kumar Madhu Kiran

If you want to set these material type to another group (Which has a internal number and external number range), then you can do it.
In MMNR, Click on the Edit Group.
Then select the material type and click select element.
Then mark a tick option in another group and then press Element/Group.
Then you can see the material type will come under this group.
Now save your entry, and create a material with this material type.

I have completed MSSQL server configuration and while configuring VMM the below error displayed in the wizard:
An internal error has occurred trying to contact an agent on the WIN-NTJTNEJ1UCN.mydomain.com server: : .
Ensure the agent is installed and running. Ensure the WS-Management service is installed and running, then restart the agent.
I have checked that the following services are running:
    1) Verified WS-Management srvice 2) MSSQL server + MSSQL (agent)  3)SC VM Manager Agent  4)  Windows management instrumentation .
I have joined the VM (on which installing SC VMM) in a domain(as per install guide) and installing VMM using domain account & it is in local Administrators group.
Also I would like know if there is any stand alone SC VMM installer. If yes then please let me know the installer location & install guide.
    thanks.
