Error connecting to Oracle on Red Hat 7.2 with WL 7.0

I able not able to connect to Oracle on Red Hat 7.2. I have tried both 9.0.1 and 9.2.0.
I am able to use a very similar configuration and W2k and it works.
Here is the situation:
I have installed Weblogic 7.0.0.1 on Redhat 7.2. It works fine in generic form.
I have also installed Oracle 9.2.0 client files. I have verified connectivity with
a remote database using the Oracle tnsping tool. I have modified the startWLS.sh
file so that the oci901_8 libraries are used by Weblogic. I have added the following
line to startWeblogic.sh:
------ BEGIN code snippet ---
# --- Setup Oracle ---
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${ORACLE_HOME}/lib
POST_PATH=${WL_HOME}/server/bin/oci901_8:${ORACLE_HOME}/bin:
------ END code snippet ---
My config.xml file has this entry (which works on NT)
---------- BEGIN config.xml snippet ------------

Name="wamiPool-Oracle"
Properties="user=bomb;password=wami;server=WAMI_DB"
Targets="myserver" TestTableName="Country" URL="jdbc:weblogic:oracle"/>
--------- END config.xml snippet ------------
On startup I get this error:

I have also tried using the Weblogic dbping utility. When I use this I get this
error:

Hi David,
The driver for 9.2.0 is not yet out. You may want to use the thin driver.
You can also request this driver by filling a support case.

These are same values I used for the tnsping which does work.
Any other ideas?

  • Error Installing ERP2005 on Red Hat 4es Linux with Oracle  part II

    All,
    After succeeding in fixing the 64bit issue I have another issue when wanting to install ERP2005 on Red Hat linux beeing:
    the following error message:
    error in:

    I do have my java home set and paths and display, but still this issue comes up
    at first I had installed the SUN java version 1.4.2.13 but that did not work as well (and was a 32bits version, no 64bits found there for linux) so I deinstalled that one and installed the IBM java 64bit version for linux.
    Hopefully someone knows a sollution, cause it is getting me bold.
    cheers

  • Error Installing ERP2005 on Red Hat 4es Linux with Oracle

    Normally I only install SAP for customers on Unix boxes or WIndows, but I was asked for a customer to do an installation on Red Hat 4es 64bit. It will be a Sandbox system for the customer. ERP2005 with Oracle.
    But after some issues on shared objects when I wasn't able to start the sapinst, cause there was no JRE installed, but has been installed after this (version 1.4.2.13 for linux). I now run into the following issue when ./sapinst is running and me trying to start the ./startInstGui.sh I get the following :
    java.lang.RuntimeException: invocation target exception: /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_13/lib/i386/libawt.so: libXp.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    both files are there, JAVA_HOME had been set, java had also been set as path, but when I do a file on the files it gives me:
    [root@su49tas1 lib64]# file libXp.so.6.2
    libXp.so.6.2: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, AMD x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), stripped
    [root@su49tas1 i386]# file libawt.so
    libawt.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), stripped
    looking at this there might be a conflict on version, but the libXp.so comes from the RH install cd and the libawt.so comes from the jre1.4.2.13-rpm.bin file downloaded from the java sun website.
    strange thing is that I cannot find a 64bit version so that might bring down my thoughts on version conflict.
    Hopefully someone had had this same issue also and had solved it, but also other input which might help me solve this is appreciated.
    cause this is turning my head for a day and night
    cheers

    How to install Oracle RDBMS version 10.2.0.2 (or higher)
    To install 10.2.0.1 and then 10.2.0.2 (or higher) on Linux Itanium, do the following :
    [1]. Download Patch 5390722 and run the supplied OUI to install Montecito JDK and JRE into the new 10.2 home
    * Unzip the patch
    * Start OUI from Patch 5390722 and install JDK into the new 10.2 home
    * Start OUI from Patch 5390722 and install JRE into the new 10.2 home
    [2]. Install 10.2.0.1 into the new 10.2 home by running OUI from the 10.2.0.1 DVD :
    ./runInstaller -jreLoc $ORACLE_HOME/jre/1.4.2
    NOTE: During the installation (on the "Product Specific Prerequisite Checks" page) the "Checking for Oracle Home incompatibilities..." check will fail. Click the check box next to it, so that the status changes to "User Verified", and continue with the installation.
    [3]. Install 10.2.0.2 (or higher) into the new 10.2 home by running OUI from where the patchset has been unzipped :
    ./runInstaller -jreLoc $ORACLE_HOME/jre/1.4.2

  • How to Install Oracle on Red Hat Linux?

    My System is having P4 1.8 GHz Processor with 128 MB RAM, 40 GB HDD(7 GB Linux Partition + 1 GB Swap Partition). I have installed Red Hat Linux 9(Server). Now, I want to install Oracle 9 on this syste. But I don't know how to install it. Anyone who knows this, plz, mail me the necessary system requirements alongwith some settings, if any. My Email ID is [email protected]/[email protected]

    I think you'll have some problems with 128MB RAM.....<br><br>
    :P Nonsense, but I do hope that hard drive is one of those new, fancy flash hard drives, otherwise the system will spend so much time swapping that it won't get past the installer.

  • Error connecting to Oracle 11g Database

    Hi All
    I am testing .NET connectivity to Oracle 11g and I am not successful for a while.
    I've tried to connect to database using library included in Oracle 10.2.0.3 Client and as a result I've got "invalid username or password" error. Then I've tried to use ORAC 11.1.0.5.10beta. I successfully connected to the server, but when I try to exec any query my program hangs.
    Both of them work correctly with Oracle 9i database.
    Also I've tried Microsoft .NET provider and it connects and executes queries fine (though 3 times slower).
    How do you think what is reason or how can I find the reason?

    Hi.
    I have an SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) Package that reads a view on Oracle and loads data into table in SQL Server 2005. This is on a Windows 2008 Server (64-bit). When I execute this same exact package as a SQLAgent job 32-bit (type Operating System CmdExec) it runs successfully. When I run the package using the Execute Package Utility, it runs successfully. When I am editting the package in BIDS I can connect to Oracle. For both 64 and 32 bit, I use a dtsconfig file which specifies the Oracle connection string and password.
    Someone mentioned on another forum that maybe there is no Oracle ODBC driver for 64-bit Windows. I would assume that the OracleClient 64-bit would include that.
    I hope I have included all info needed. Please let me know if you may have a resolution to this problem.
    Thanks.

    I was trying to transfer data from oracle to sql server 2008 on a daily basis.
    I have very hard time connecting to oracle from ssis package on windows server 2008. I am almost dead and cannot find any help. i was able to connect to oracle using import/export 64 bit feature of SQL Server 2008 using Oracle provider for OLEDB. But I am not sure why the same does not work with BIDS?
    Here's the environment info:

  • 'No more data to read from socket' error connecting to Oracle 9i

    Hi,
    My Java app connecting to Oracle 9i gets an error: No more data to read from socket.
    Application host is running oraClient805 and JDK1.3.1_06 SE
    Connection string jdbc:oracle:thin:@myhost:1521:mysid worked fine connecting to the Oracle 8 version.
    I've checked tnsnames.ora, tried tnsping util to Ora 9i, it's OK. As well I could connect directly through the SQL Worksheet.
    Could anyone suggest what could be wrong or different to make a connection from Java app to Oracle 9i ?
    I was advised to upgrade the driver, but I am not sure what do I need. I have classes102, classes111, and classes12 in the %ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib\ directory. Do I miss something?
    Thanks a lot.

    I believe there might be problems using the older drivers with oracle 9. You might search this forum for more info.

  • IE unable to connect to Oracle HTTP Server v10.1.2 with SSL

    Hi,
    I configured OHS with SSL to run APEX applications.
    This configuration can be run from Mozilla browsers and Opera, but not from Internet Explorer.
    I suspect that IE doesn't support 256-bit encryption, as both browser above support it. So I set several combination of SSL Cipher Suite in ssl.conf. I also set IE to use TLS v1, SSLv2, and SSLv3. But this doesn't show any results. I also found that several sites which has 256 bit encryption (read the information from Mozilla and Opera browser) can also be opened by IE (read as 128 bit encryption). So I guess the encryption is not the problem, and I move on to the Apache error_log files.
    What I found from Apache's error_log.xxxx is
    [error] mod_ossl: SSL call to NZ function nzos_Handshake failed with error 29014 (server ---.---.com:4443, client --.--.--.--)
    [error] mod_ossl: Unknown error
    [error] mod_ossl: SSL call to NZ function nzos_Handshake failed with error 28864 (server ---.---.com:4443, client --.--.--.--)
    [error] mod_ossl: SSL IO error [Hint: the client stop the connection unexpectedly]
    So I looked in the Metalink and found Note:312041.1 and applied patch 4960210 and restart the server. But now it wouldn't start at all, despite that all configuration files were not changed.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Aulia Bismar

    You can use any PKCS#12 file with OHS if it includes the complete private key and certificate chain. With Oracle Wallet Manager (owm) you could also create a private key, import it, import the CA certificate as trusted certificate, create a certificate request for the private key, get the certificate response from the CA and import this.
    If you use an unsual CA, ie cacert.org, you must import the CA root certificate as a trusted server certificate for IE.

  • DBD 1.03 hangs in make test on Red Hat 6.0 with 8i

    DBD-Oracle-1.03 is hanging running test.pl in make test.
    top showed perl eating 95%+ cpu usage, and strace showed no
    system calls being called. I first encountered this
    identical hang with DBI-1.06.tar and DBD-Oracle-0.61, but
    upgraded them before reporting this bug. Here's the
    pedigree:
    Red Hat 6.0
    Some mainstream patches applied from Red Hat
    Oracle 8i via web download
    Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.5.0.0 -
    Production
    With the Partitioning and Java options
    Red Hat's shipped perl, 5.00503
    DBI-1.13
    make test succeeded completely
    DBD-Oracle-1.03
    make test hung in test.pl
    top showed perl with 95%+ cpu usage
    strace showed no system calls called by perl
    Do you have perl, DBD, and 8i running on Red Hat 6.0? If
    so, can you try running the short test program below and see
    if it hangs?
    ----- command line
    (run in DBD top-level directory, as user oracle)
    [oracle@rtcab2 DBD-Oracle-1.03]$ PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 \
    /usr/bin/perl -Iblib/arch -Iblib/lib \
    -I/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i386-linux \
    -I/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503 test.pl
    ----- Oracle DBI's test.pl hacked to a minimum
    ----- test case that hangs
    $| = 1;
    $dbname = '';
    $dbuser = 'scott/tiger';
    use Oraperl;
    my @data_sources = DBI->data_sources('Oracle');
    local($l) = &ora_login($dbname, $dbuser, '');
    &ora_logoff($l)

    : with Oracle EE (with the glic2.1 patch) ???
    : OS - Red Hat 6.0
    : tak!
    : Cesar
    I was able to do that... I am running:
    Oracle 8.0.5 with the Glibc patches..
    RH 6.0
    It compiled without problems... get the latest versions:
    DBD::Oracle 1.01
    DBI 1.08
    Make sure you have DBI installed first...

  • Gettig error connecting to Oracle DB with weblogic 6.1

    I am getting this error when I try to make a connection to an Oracle817 DB.
    I am using Oracles drviers (classes12.zip)
    <Nov 2, 2001 2:05:18 PM EST> <Error> <JDBC> <Cannot startup connection pool
    "genPool" Test table must be specifed for genPool with 'test connection on
    reserve' or 'test connection on release' or 'refresh minutes' set higher
    than 0.>
    <Nov 2, 2001 2:05:18 PM EST> <Info> <JDBC> <Creating TX Data Source named

    creation: weblogic.common.ResourceException:
    DataSource(weblogic.jdbc.jts.genPool) can't be created with non-existent
    Pool (connection or multi) (genPool)>
    I have created a connction pool called genPool,
    set the URL :jdbc:oracle:thin:@genoracle:1521:GENORANY
    driver class name = oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Properties:
    user=name ** where name is user
    password=xx **where xx is password
    dll=ocijdbc8
    protocol=thin
    I created the Tx Data Sources with
    name = weblogic.jdbc.jts.genPool
    jndi = weblogic.jdbc.jts.genPool
    poolname = genPool
    Can anyone help me through this, it would be a great help

    Other solution:
    on refresh period, default value is 1 minute, force this value at 0 and your connection
    is ok.

    Redo the pool definition, and set 'test connection on reserve'. Don't
    set 'test connections on release', and leave refresh minutes alone.
    add a test table. DUAL is perfect for that. Everything else seems
    fine.
