    DOCUMENT CLASSIFICATION AND CTXRULE INDEX TYPES IN ORACLE9I TEXT
    ================================================================
    PURPOSE
    이 문서는 Oracle9i 에서 추가된 새로운 기능으로 Oracle Text 에서의
    문서 분류기능(Document Classification) 에 대해 소개한다.
    Explanation
    Oracle9i Text 에서는 CTXRULE index type을 이용하여 각 문서를 분류하는 기능을
    구현할 수 있다. 이 CTXRULE index type은 각 분류별로 define 된 rule에 따라
    문서를 indexing하고, 이러한 기능을 위해 MATCHES operator를 제공한다.
    이 Oracle9i Text 는 일반 Text, XML, HTML 문서에 대해 이 document classification
    기능을 지원한다.
    1. Create a Table of Queries
    먼저 다음과 같이 조회를 위해 분류할 category를 저장할 table을 생성한다.
    CREATE TABLE myqueries (
         queryid NUMBER PRIMARY KEY,
         category VARCHAR2(30),
         query VARCHAR2(2000) );
    아래와 같이 조회시에 문서의 category name과 query시 사용할 구문을 저장한다.
    INSERT INTO myqueries VALUES(1, 'US Politics', 'democrat or republican');
    INSERT INTO myqueries VALUES(2, 'Music', 'ABOUT(music)');
    INSERT INTO myqueries VALUES(3, 'Soccer', 'ABOUT(soccer)');
    2. Create the CTXRULE Index
    CTXRULE index를 이용하여 이 table에 Text index를 생성한다.
    CREATE INDEX myqueries_idx ON myqueries(query)
    INDEXTYPE IS CTXRULE
    PARAMETERS('lexer lexer_pref
    storage storage_pref');
    이 CTXRULE에는 filter, memory, datastore, stoplist 는 지정할 수 없다.
    3. Classifying a Document
    아래와 같이 실제 데이타가 저장되는 table을 생성한다.
    CREATE TABLE news (
         newsid NUMBER,
         author VARCHAR2(30),
         source VARCHAR2(30),
         article CLOB);
    이 Table에 data를 insert하기 전에 MATCHES operator 를 이용하여 지정한 내용에
    대해 문서를 분류하여 query table에 저장하는 trigger 를 생성한다.
    You can create a before insert trigger with MATCHES to route each document to
    another table news_route based on its classification:
    CREATE TRIGGER NEWS_MATCH_TRG
    BEFORE INSERT ON NEWS
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    -- find matching queries
    FOR c1 IN (select category
    from myqueries
    where MATCHES(query, :new.article)>0)
    LOOP
    INSERT INTO news_route(newsid, category)
    VALUES (:new.newsid, c1.category);
    END LOOP;
    END;

  • Queries with CTXRULE Index

    I am trying to build an alerting application when, on receipt of a new XML document, user's are alerted if the document matches one or more of the profiles that they have defined. I have created a CTXRULE index that does this but only with very simple profiles. For example ABOUT(soccer), which is the example in the Text documentation.
    Is it possible to create more complex queries, for example using WITHIN to only match within defined elements of the XML document. Are there any good example?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    you can have a look at document "How to Create a Context Index Using a Function [ID 1063279.1]" at Oracle Support. You tried to create a CONTEXT index using a function but a function-based index is not supported. Workaround given in the document is to use a Multi_Column_Datastore.
    CTXXPATH is deprecated in Oracle 11.1, better is to use XMLINDEX, see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28369/whatsnew.htm.

    Hi,
    it works if you put an extra PARAMETERS clause at the end so the creation looks like:
    CREATE INDEX TXT_INX_TEXT_SEARCH ON TEXT_SEARCH (BFILE_DOC)

  • Error creating Spatial Index - ORA-29855

    I have a DB in 11g that I used SQL Developer to copy to my local machine, 10g installation. I copied the same kind of databases around a lot but this is the first time I'm getting this error, when creating the spatial index.
    For this table I only copy the DDL and then run a .sql file with lot's of inserts and now I'm trying to create the spatial index.
    So I tried:
    CREATE INDEX location_spatial_idx ON location(locationcoordinates) INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX;
    And got:
    ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
    ORA-13203: failed to read USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA view
    ORA-13203: failed to read USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA view
    ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD_10I", line 10
    My DB is:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Prod
    I tried running the create index as SYSDBA with no luck.
    select * from mdsys.sdo_index_metadata_table -> empty for this user owner
    select sdo_index_name from user_sdo_index_metadata -> empty
    SELECT * FROM SDO_INDEX_METADATA -> empty
    So... any clue on what I'm doing wrong?

    So... any clue on what I'm doing wrong?I would think that Oracle is quite clearly telling you what is wrong here: Your table is not in the metadata.
    If you simply create the DDL for the table and create the insert statements from SQL Developer, it won't create the insert into user_sdo_geom_metadata....
    And in order to create a spatial index, the table MUST be in the user_sdo_geom_metadata, whether you try to create the index as SYSDBA or as the owner of the table.

    However, I also need to add an additional field to this index to allow appropriate queries against the data in the table, version number. This field can be seen from the statement above (VERSION) which runs OK and returns the data I’d expect. However, when I attempt to add this index using the following statement I get an error returned and the index becomes corrupted:
    alter index TEST_WQI_idx_1 rebuild
    parameters ('PATHS (INCLUDE ADD
    (/webPolicy/Sections/interopSection[1]/PolicyItems/item/Version))');
    After some investigation, the issue seems to revolve around the use of the [1] condition in the statement /interopSection[1]. I can create the index by removing the [1] condition, but this does not return the expected result. In actual fact, as there are 2 interopSection elements in the xml file, both with a version number of 1, the statement returns 11, which would appear to be the two version numbers concatenated together. I need to be able to reference the version number from the first interopSection in the queries against the table, and I need to be able to index this column correctly for performance issues.
    I'm unsure why this xpath statement is not working correctly in the alter index statement, but returns ok when used within the query against the table and was wondering if you would be able to help me to have a working index against this element.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in relation to this.

    Sorry, here is the error:

  • Error creating spatial indexes

    I'm using oracle 10g2.
    I retrieve the following error message during spatial index creation:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
    ORA-13249: internal error in Spatial index: [mdidxrbd]
    ORA-13249: Error in Spatial index: index build failed
    ORA-13236: internal error in R-tree processing: [failed to cluster in memory]
    ORA-13232: failed to allocate memory during R-tree creation
    ORA-13236: internal error in R-tree processing: [failed to allocate memory

    ORA-04031: unable to allocate ORA-04031: unable to allocate 4387800 bytes of

    bytes of shared memory ("","","","")
    ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD_10I", line 10
    I've already tried to increase memory, shared and large pool, actually I have the following settings:
    Shared pool 500
    Buffer cache 200
    Large pool 200
    Pool Java 20
    I've already installed data and created spatial indexes on other machine correctly with the same data with less memory use, and I can't find any difference.
    Could anybody help me?

    Andre,
    I didn't think the , and ; in the sdo_geom_metadata would be causing the problem because he indicated that he could build indexes on other data - I assume he uses the same diminfo values for these as well. But, one can never be too sure!
    But certainly, follow what the error messages indicate.
    The Oracle Error message manual says:
    "ORA-13232: failed to allocate memory during R-tree creation
    Cause: This feature assumes a minimum of 64K memory for bulk creation.
    Action: Create the index for a small subset of the data. Then, use transactional insert operations for the rest of the data."
    The spatial manual says:
    "Before you create a spatial index, be sure that the rollback segment size and the SORT_AREA_SIZE parameter value are adequate, as described in Section 4.1.1."
    One way to change the sort area size is to alter your existing session before
    executing the create index statement. So, from 4.1.1. this can be done via:
    ALTER SESSION SET SORT_AREA_SIZE = 20000000;
    Also, do what Andre suggests. On my laptop with 1G of memory as a matter of course I change the SGA from the default to being much larger.
    regards
    S

    Hi,
    There is something wrong with the data as you loaded it.
    Can you try to validate the geometries?
    Thanks,
