Hi,
it works if you put an extra PARAMETERS clause at the end so the creation looks like:
CREATE INDEX TXT_INX_TEXT_SEARCH ON TEXT_SEARCH (BFILE_DOC)

  • Help with creating oracle text index on 2 columns with partial html data

    Hi,
    I need to create an oracle text index on 2 columns.
    TITLE - varchar(255) = contains plain text data
    DESCRIPTION - CLOB = contains partial HTML data
    This is what I created.
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference ('Title_Description_Pref', 'MULTI_COLUMN_DATASTORE');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('Title_Description_Pref', 'columns', 'TITLE, DESCRIPTION');
    end;
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference ('bid_lexer', 'BASIC_LEXER');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('bid_lexer', 'index_stems', 'ENGLISH');
    ctx_ddl.create_section_group('htmgroup', 'HTML_SECTION_GROUP');
    end;
    create index Bid_Title_Index on Bid(title) indextype is ctxsys.context parameters ('LEXER bid_lexer sync (every "sysdate+(1/24)")');
    create index Bid_Title_Desc_Index on Bid(description) indextype is ctxsys.context parameters ('LEXER bid_lexer DATASTORE Title_Description_Pref sync (every "sysdate+(1/24)") filter ctxsys.null_filter section group htmgroup');
    The problem is when I do a CONTAINS(description, '$(auction)')>0. I get results where the descriptions have the "auction" word (which is correct). But, the results also returned rows where the search word is inside an IMG tag. e.g. <img src="http://auction.de/120483" alt="Auction Logo"/>.
    What I would like is to exclude rows where the search word is inside HTML tag attributes, results expected are rows having <a>Auction</a> or <p>For Auction</p> ... etc. Basically stripping the html tags and leave the text contents.
    I'd appreciate some input.
    Thanks,
    Amiel

  • Create Oracle Text Index from Java via JDBC

    Hi, I have a question relevant to creation of the Text Index in Oracle Text via Java JDBC.
    In Java I create client application and I connect to remote Oracle server. (there is Oracle
    10g Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.3.0 on Debian Linux OS). In Java I create query:
    CREATE INDEX index_name ON source_tab(text) indextype is ctxsys.context
    parameters('datastore ctxsys.file_datastore filter ctxsys.null_filter');
    and I start it by:
    PreparedStatement stmt = db.prepareStatement(query);
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery();
    There is problem that Text Index is created empty and when I write out error log then:
    DRG-11513: unable to open or write to file "path"
    I have on my computer Oracle XE 10g (Windows XP OS) here this application in Java functions
    without problems. Without problems it´s with that same query in SQLPlus when I connect at
    this remote Oracle server via PuTTY.
    Do you know anybody where could be error? Or at worst case where find I more detailed
    manual about JDBC Oracle mainly possible errors and problems with compatibility?

    Does it work if you don't use "file_datastore"?
    Eg. try the following in sqlplus:
    create table t (text varchar2(2000));
    insert into t values ('hello world');
    create index ti on t(text) indextype is ctxsys.context;
    select * from t where contains (text, 'hello') > 0;
    Then drop the index ti and try the same "create index" through JDBC. Does that work?
    If so, then we have some kind of issue with the file_datastore. I assume you are aware that the file will be read by the SERVER, not from the client?
    So if your database resides on a Linux box, but you are calling from a Java program on a windows PC, the file names in source_tab(text) must be in Linux format, and must refer to files which are available on the Linux server (and readable by the owner of the Oracle database process).
    So /home/me/file.txt might work, but C:\Documents\file.txt will not.

  • Problem creating Oracle text index

    Hi,
    I am trying to create an index in Oracle 9i using Oracle Text.
    First i gave this grant as SYSDBA:
    "GRANT ALL ON CTX_DDL TO <USERNAME>"
    Then i executed the following :
    EXECUTE CTX_DDL.CREATE_SECTION_GROUP('MYPATHGROUP','PATH_SECTION_GROUP');
    CREATE INDEX SDS_SLIDE_XML_IDX ON SDS_SLIDE_DATA (SLIDE_XML)
    INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT
    PARAMETERS('SECTION GROUP MYPATHGROUP');
    but I got the following error :
    ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
    ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
    DRG-50857: oracle error in dricon.get_primary_key
    ORA-00980: synonym translation is no longer valid
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.DRUE", line 157
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS", line 186
    Any ideas?
    Rgds
    Vikram.

    Oracle Text will not index the content inside the portlet of the pages. The portlet is treated as a portlet instance item and only the relevant attributes are searched for, like display name of the portlet, etc.

  • Error when create schemas for webcenter using URM.

    Hi,
    I use Oracle Urm to create necessary schemas for Webcenter. Everything goes well when I create the tables.
    However, when I extend my domain with Webcenter, comes to the database connection testing step, the tests always fail.
    It said: A connection is establish but no result received from the Test query.
    I ignored the test but then later, start the WLS_Spaces manage server, the server can't start because of database error, the needed tables not found.
    I use SQl Developer to connect to the database but can't see those newly created tables.
    But during the URM step, nothing went wrong.
    Can you help me with this?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Heather,
    The reason that you are receiving this error is because the niscope.h file (called by niScope.fp) uses a struct which cannot be compiled into a DLL. This means that the niScope.fp file cannot be included in the target settings. Here's a knowledgebase that describes the error.

    If you do want the niScope.fp file to be included then you will need to make some modifications to the niscope.h file and create a typedef for the niScope_wfmInfo struct. Here's info from the help file that describes the type library section and the use of the .fp file.
    "Type Library—This button lets you choose whether to add a type library resource to your DLL. Also, you can choose to include links in the type library resource to a Windows help file. LabWindows/CVI generates the type library resource from a function panel (.fp) file. You must specify the name of the .fp file. You can generate a Windows help file from the .fp file by using the Generate Windows Help command in the Options menu of the Function Tree Editor window.
    This feature is useful if you intend for your DLL to be used from Visual Basic."
    If you do not include the niScope.fp file then you will be able to compile the DLL.
    Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Insufficient priv error when creating a materialised view using DB link!!!!

    Hi,
    I have a two databases db1 and db2.
    I have created a database link from db2 to access user1 schema in db1.
    When i try to create a materialised view by accessing user1 table using user 'user2' in db2 database, i get error "ORA-1031: Insufficient Privilege".
    The user2 has the priviliges "create view", "create any view", "create materialised view" etc.
    I am able to select data, of the table using the database link, but creating materialised view gives this error.
    I want to know if the user "user1" should be granting any privilige to user2, if so how is it possible as user2 dosent exist in db1!
    i.e should i give command something like "grant select on user1.table to user2@db2"(this dosent work as it says user2@db2 dosent exist, obviously as its taking user2@db2 as a username in db1 schema)
    or is this a problem with user2 priviliges in db2 database, if so what are all the priviliges that have to be given to user2 in db2 schema.
    regards,

    Hi,
    User from db1 can not assign any privs to user on db2 database. If user from db1 want to access any object from db2 database, then on local level user2 on db2 should have all the acess to required object. Then you can use user2 on db2 using dblink from db1 user to access those objects residing on remote database.
    If user1 from db1 can grant privs to user2 on db2 database on any objects on db2 database then it is highly security issue. This is not permitted.
    Regards
    e.g.
    conn userx@db2
    grant select on userx.table1 to user2;
    conn user2@db2
    select count(*) from userx.table1;
    conn user1@db1
    select count(*) from userx.table1@db2_dblink;

  • Error when creating an image (dmg) using hdiutil

    Hi everybody,
    I´m using a script which creates an image (dmg) from a selected folder.
    This works without errors.
    But I also want to create images from CDs and DVDs using this script. Doing so I always get the error "Only one image can be created at a time"
    I thought that a previous imaging process was not finished yet and I rebooted the Mac. But I still get this error. Any idea?
    Here is the script:
    set Ordner to choose folder
    tell application "Finder"
    set diskNames to name of Ordner
    set myNewPath to POSIX path of (path to desktop folder) as string
    set theListe to every process
    end tell
    set myNewPath to myNewPath & diskNames & ".dmg"
    set Quellordner to POSIX path of Ordner as string
    set Skript to "hdiutil create -srcfolder " & Quellordner & " " & myNewPath
    do shell script Skript
    iMac Core Duo/1,5 GB; MacBook Pro Core2Duo 2GB   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    I believe this has something to do with terminal and have spaces in folder names / disk names. As it sees the space and thinks it is another command and in this case i believe it thinks you are trying to do two or more disk images at once. Therefore it is important to deal with spaces. Thankfully you should be ablr to get around this by using the quoted form command which i have implemented below.
    I repeated your error using a folder called "Cd for Cherie". Folders without gaps such as "pH" worked fine.
    I havent tested this with any disk but i believe if you alter it to this hopefully it will work
    Also the name of the folder wasnt working for me so i altered to to work for me, i am using 10.4.8 so if it doesnt work for you then change it back.
    --Start Code
    tell application "Finder"
    set infor to info for Ordner
    set diskNames to name of infor
    -- display dialog diskNames as string
    --set diskNames to name of Ordner
    set myNewPath to POSIX path of (path to desktop folder) as string
    -- set theListe to every process
    end tell
    set myNewPath to quoted form of (myNewPath & diskNames & ".dmg")
    set Quellordner to quoted form of POSIX path of Ordner as string
    set Skript to "hdiutil create -srcfolder " & Quellordner & " " & myNewPath
    do shell script Skript
    --end code

  • About index memory parameter for Oracle text indexes

    Hi Experts,
    I am on Oracle 11.2.0.3 on Linux and have implemented Oracle Text. I am not an expert in this subject and need help about one issue. I created Oracle Text indexes with default setting. However in an oracle white paper I read that the default setting may not be right. Here is the excerpt from the white paper by Roger Ford:
    URL:http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/index-maintenance-089308.html
    "(Part of this white paper below....)
    Index Memory                                    As mentioned above, cached $I entries are flushed to disk each time the indexing memory is exhausted. The default index memory at installation is a mere 12MB, which is very low. Users can specify up to 50MB at index creation time, but this is still pretty low.
    This would be done by a CREATE INDEX statement something like:
    CREATE INDEX myindex ON mytable(mycol) INDEXTYPE IS ctxsys.context PARAMETERS ('index memory 50M');
    Allow index memory settings above 50MB, the CTXSYS user must first increase the value of the MAX_INDEX_MEMORY parameter, like this:
    begin ctx_adm.set_parameter('max_index_memory', '500M'); end;
    The setting for index memory should never be so high as to cause paging, as this will have a serious effect on indexing speed. On smaller dedicated systems, it is sometimes advantageous to temporarily decrease the amount of memory consumed by the Oracle SGA (for example by decreasing DB_CACHE_SIZE and/or SHARED_POOL_SIZE) during the index creation process. Once the index has been created, the SGA size can be increased again to improve query performance.&quot;
    (End here from the white paper excerpt)
    My question is:
    1) To apply this procedure (ctx_adm.set_parameter) required me to login as CTXSYS user. Is that right? or can it be avoided and be done from the application schema? This user CTXSYS is locked by default and I had to unlock it. Is that ok to do in production?
    2) What is the value that I should use for the max_index_memory should it be 500 mb - my SGA is 2 GB in Dev/ QA and 3GB in production. Also in the index creation what is the value I should set for index memory parameter  - I had left that at default but how should I change now? Should it be 50MB as shown in example above?
    3) The white paper also refer to rebuilding an index at some interval like once in a month:   ALTER INDEX DR$index_name$X REBUILD ONLINE;
    --Is this correct advice? i would like to ask the experts once before doing that.  We are on Oracle 11g and the white paper was written in 2003.
    Basically while I read the paper, I am still not very clear on several aspects and need help to understand this.
    Thanks,
    OrauserN

    Perhaps it's time I updated that paper
    1.  To change max_index_memory you must be a DBA user OR ctxsys. As you say, the ctxsys account is locked by default. It's usually easiest to log in as a DBA and run something like
    exec ctxsys.ctx_adm.set_parameter('MAX_INDEX_MEMORY', '10G')
    2.  Index memory is allocated from PGA memory, not SGA memory. So the size of SGA is not relevant. If you use too high a setting your index build may fail with an error saying you have exceeded PGA_AGGREGATE_LIMIT.  Of course, you can increase that parameter if necessary. Also be aware that when indexing in parallel, each parallel process will allocated up to the index memory setting.
    What should it be set to?  It's really a "safety" setting to prevent users grabbing too much machine memory when creating indexes. If you don't have ad-hoc users, then just set it as high as you need. In 10.1 it was limited to just under 500M, in 10.2 you can set it to any value.
    The actual amount of memory used is not governed by this parameter, but by the MEMORY setting in the parameters clause of the CREATE INDEX statement. eg:
    create index fooindex on foo(bar) indextype is ctxsys.context parameters ('memory 1G')
    What's a good number to use for memory?  Somewhere in the region of 100M to 200M is usually good.
    3.  No - that's out of date.  To optimize your index use CTX_DDL.OPTIMIZE_INDEX.  You can do that in FULL mode daily or weekly, and REBUILD mode perhaps once a month.
