Hi Chris
If you are trying to create a LOV and use that as a parameter, then you need to create LOV as Dynamic Cascading values. Once created then you can use that LOV in the Crystal Reports.
This is the best way to get dynamic cascading prompts in Crystal reports.
Please refer to Business View Admin guide for more information.
Hope this helps!!

  • Error while executing application using Oracle Business Process Workspace

    Hi all,
    I created a simple application to find the length of the message entered and then re direct it to other task depending on the size. but while i try to run the application using Oracle Business Process Workspace, a new popup window is opened and my pre-described fields are shown, i fill the fields with values and when i try to submit/claim the task, it is giving me the following error :
    Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The request was rejected by the HTTP filter. Contact your ISA Server administrator. (12217)I contacted my server administrator as well for the same, but he didn't find any server side error.
    Kindly help me solve this issue asap as i have my seniors waiting for this.

    Try to fragment the 'ear' in less than 64k blocks or don't transmit as long raw.
    Please let me know if this works.

  • Making a created custom page visible to all users in Business Process Workspace

    Hi everyone
    I, as the admin of Business Process Workspace, have created a custom page to show an external URL.
    How can I make this page visible to all of our ordinary users?

    Hi Ashwini
    Thanks for replying.
    I did the same and it was working for me even if the Type is Single.
    I just gave the Group name and all users were able to see the task. This is fine with me.
    I just observed one more thing.
    When the task is created, all the users in the Group are able to see it in 'Me & My Group'.
    But the data entered by the creator is not seen by other users.
    There is an action 'Save' in the Task. If the creator clicked on it, then the task is automatically 'Acquired' by the creator.
    Other users in the group are able to see the task and the saved data, but are not able to Submit.
    What I expected the Save button to do is only to Save the data in the Payload. Not Claim it.
    Is there a way to make the payload data only to save but not to claim the task?
    Thanks and Regards

  • Undeploying the BPM project from Oracle Business Process Workspace

    Hi all,
    I am facing problem in deploying the project to Oracle Business Process Workspace, I had some issues while deploying the project for the first time, and now when i am again trying to deploy the same project, it is giving the error "*Deployment failed, Module already exists on server*".
    is there any way i can deploy the project or delete the existing project from workspace and then redeploy the project ?
    IDE used : Jdeveloper 11.1.5
    Server used : Weblogic 10.3
    Please guide me in this as soon as possible.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi
    1. Yes, from EM Console, first Undeploy the Workflow Project that you can find under SOA -> soa_infra -> default node.
    2. Then expand Application Deployments -> Look for the UI Project (that has taskforms etc) and make sure to select it and Undeploy this also.
    3. Now comes, what and how exactly are you deploying your SOA/BPM application. Any SOA/BPM application will have one Workflow project (atleast) and one or more UI Projects (for each user task). Also there may be some other utility projects or EJB projects. Now to deploy the entire application you have couple of options. Just select your Workflow project and deploy and during this time, it will list out all UI Projects and you can check all of them. Also for Workflow you can check one check box to overwrite any existing versions like 1.0. In this way you will have full Workflow deployed and all UI Projects also deployed. Once you do this, you cannot again deploy just the UI Project. Thats when you get these errors like already deployed etc. Now disadvantage here is, if you just make only UI changes, you cannot deploy only UI Project since it is already deployed as part of full app. So you had to again deploy Workflow project and check all ui projects also. this means all your existing workflow instances will become stale (redeploy of workflow makes all old tasks stale).
    4. Another and more ideal standard way is, first deploy just the Workflow project and DO NOT check any UI Projects. Then from the Application Level, deploy the entire application that includes all the UI Project and any other Projects. Just select your application, properties and deployment section. And see the projects included in the application. Make sure you DO NOT check the workflow project. But check all other projects like UI or any other project. In this way, any changes you make to UI or EJBs, just deploy the application. Your workflow is still the same old. Bottom line, Workflow Project is created as a SAR (SOA Archive) which is like a jar file. And entire application is deployed like an EAR file. So you will have 2 files for deployment to any other Env where you do not have like JDev.
    For now, follow first 2 steps, to undeploy all the stuff you have. Then you should be able to redeploy using one of the above options.
    Thanks

  • Unable to see deployed process in Business process workspace

    Hello ,
    I am using BPM Suite 11gR1 in Oracle Jdeveloper. As using Hello world sample, I deployed the process successfully at weblogic server But i am unable to see the deployed application bpm/workspace (Business Process Workspace).
    How can i make sure this? There is no exception in server logs.
    thanks

    Thanks MSR.
    I have other Web Dynpro applications that I have succesfully deployed and they display correctly in the WDP Content Administrator.
    The application in question is fine up until the point I activate the changes. So using NWDS I build and deploy the application, and it shows correctly in the Content Administrator. Once I activate the Activity I can no longer see the contents of the DC through the Content Administrator.
    So what I see in our development environment is:
    + rd1.com/WorkingOK
    + Applications
    + Components
    + Models
    - rd1.com/NotWorking
    (The rd1.com/NotWorking node cannot be expanded)
    Therefore I can no longer run the NotWorking application or transport it into QA/Production.
    I have noticed that in the Development Configurations perspective in NWDS that the DC in question does not have src/packages/ProjectProperties.wdproperties

  • Adding custom panels to Business Process Workspace

    Hi,
    is it possible to add a custom panel to the Business Process Workspace? By custom I mean a jsp/jsf/jsff/taskflow/etc that i design.
    Is that possible. And if yes can somenoe point me to documentation or exemples?
    Thanks in advance,
    Diogo Henriques

    Hi Ruben,
    thanks for your response, but i'm still having problems.
    First the workspace.properties didn't have that property, so i tried adding it but the workspace stop responding só I had to revert the alteration (on a side note, I altered the file in the .ear on the server and then updated the .ear through the deployments list, is there other way to alter it like a properties page?).
    While looking for a solution to my problem I started seeing references to Oracle Webcenter and Process Spaces. Do I have to install them to be able to do the kind of costumizations I want?
    Thanks,

  • How to create BPEL Guided Business Process

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 with the updates for BPM Studio.
    I created an application with a SOA project with a SOA BPEL Process. When I opened the BPEL process, I can't find the "Activity Guide Properties" icon to open the "Edit Activity Guide" window to setup the "Activity Guide" as per the documentation:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e15176/soa_activity_guides.htm#insertedID7
    I looked through everywhere on the BPEL process screen and the menus but had no luck to find a way to open the "Edit Activity Guide" window.
    Anyone knows how to open the "Edit Activity Guide" window within the BPEL process ?

    I believe the documentation for createing a BPEL Guide Business Process may be incorrect
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e15176/soa_activity_guides.htm#CJAHCECC
    Incorrect #1: there is no "Activity Guide Properties" icon anywhere when the BPEL process is opened.
    (I am able to open the "Edit Activity Guide" window by clicking the "Activity Guide" node under the "BPM Project Navigator")
    Incorrect #2: There is no "Expose as Activity Guide" check box in the "Edit Activity Guide" window
    My hypothesis on setting up a Guided BPEL process is to set the set the BPEL process as the root process in the "Edit Activity Guide" window.
    This is based on how a Guided BPMN process is setup.
    However, the drop down listbox for the "Root Process" is empty even there is a BPEL process created in the project.
    As a result, I can't set the BPEL process to be the root process of the "Activity Guide".
    I am pretty sure there is no way you can create a Guided BPEL Business Process following the instructions in the above documentation link.
    Hopefully, I'll hear from some BPM guru from Oracle who can point out how to create a Guided BPEL Business Process using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 with plug-ins for BPM Studio.

  • Error creating instance of class from same package

    When I try to create an instance of a class that is in the same package, my IDE indicates that the constructor can not be found. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Thanks. Below are the codes for both classes:
    package com.practice;

    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;

              UserInterface gui = new UserInterface();
         } // end init()
         public void start(){
         } // end start()
         public void stop(){
         } // end stop()
         public void destroy(){
         } // end destory()
    } // end class
    package com.practice;
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class UserInterface extends Applet{
         JPanel menuPanel = new JPanel();
         JPanel contentPanel = new JPanel();
         JPanel savePanel = new JPanel();
         ImageIcon saveIcon = new ImageIcon("workspace/images/toolbarButtongraphics/general/Save24");
         JButton saveButton = new JButton("Save", saveIcon);
         public UserInterface(){
              savePanel.add(saveButton);
              setLayout(new BorderLayout());
              add(menuPanel, BorderLayout.NORTH);
              add(contentPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
              add(savePanel, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
    } // end UserInterface class

    Thanks for the explanation and example. At first, I didn't understand what you were getting at, but after reading "Using Top-Level Containers" and "How to Use Root Panes" java tutorials it made much more sense. Unfortunately, the books I've read up to this point, did not cover those topics at all. The books simply stated that the first step in creating a Swing gui was to extend the JFrame, or JApplet, or etc.
    Unfortunately, my original problem persists. I continue to get compile-time errors such as:
    TestUserInterface.java:5: cannot find symbol
    symbol: class UserInterface
    location: class projects.web.TestUserInterface
                          UserInterface ui = new UserInterface(); Anyone know why?
    Both the classes are in the same named packaged. Below is my code:
    package projects.web;
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class UserInterface extends JFrame{
         JPanel menuPanel = new JPanel();
         JPanel contentPanel = new JPanel();
         JPanel selectionPanel = new JPanel();
         JButton save = new JButton("Save");
         JButton addFiles = new JButton("Add");
         public UserInterface(){
         super("File Upload");
         setSize(500, 500);
         menuPanel.add(addFiles);
         selectionPanel.add(save);
         setLayout(new BorderLayout());
         add(menuPanel, BorderLayout.NORTH);
         add(contentPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
         add(selectionPanel, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
         } // end constructor
    } // end UserInterface class
    package projects.web;
    public class TestUserInterface{
         public static void main(String[] args){
              UserInterface ui = new UserInterface();

  • Cannot log into Business Process Workspace using Custom Authenticator

    Hello,
    I have set-up a SQLAuthenticator on my WL10.3.5 and defined a number of users which can successfully login to console and em.
    My problem is that these users are not able to login to Oracle BP workspace.
    Note 1: Control flags are all set to sufficient (In addition to DefaultAuthenticator I have only the custom SQLAuthenticator in providers list).
    Note 2: Ordering of Authenticators is: SQLAuthenticators, DefaultAuthenticator
    Note 2: user 'weblogic' can login to workspace without any problem.
    Any help would greatly be appreciated as this problem has taken more than a week of my time.

    Hi
    1. I hope workspace you are refering is: http://soahost:soaport/bpm/workspace.
    2. User "weblogic" can login. And I hope he can see adminstrator link on top right hand corner etc.
    3. Others Users say "userxyz" CANNOT login. NOW what do you mean with this. What Error do they get.
    a) Does it say invalid username/password. If so, check the user account and verify the details.
    b) Do they login, BUT do NOT see any link on Left Side to initiate a new instance. If so, is this User in the Role of Initiator. See below notes
    NOW, what application is Deployed and what exactly are you trying to test
    1. For any BPM Application, you will have a Start Node and End Node. Usually there will be a first Human Task (generally but not always) who can Instantiate or create a new prrocess Instance. And there are Swimlanes where we put all Tasks.
    2. Then we map these Swimlanes to bunch of Users or AD Groups or Roles etc etc. Quick test is, create some users in Default Authenticator itself like weblogic1, weblogic2, weblogic3 etc and map these Users to these Roles.
    3. If you have EXTERNAL Authenticator, that is also fine. This is how most of the times. Within JDeveloper itself, for Each Role you can Map users or groups from this External Authenticator. this means your application should be deployed and SOA Server is Up and Running. Only theny you can fetch the list of users and groups. Generally I do NOT recommend this. Do not do any mapping at JDeveloper side.
    4. Instead, after you Deploy your application say to bpmDomain1. Go to EM Console and there under application BPMProcessRoles, map the application roles to each User or AD Group from your SQL Authenticator. See docs for detailed steps.
    In EM Console, if you do NOT see your Swimlanes or Roles thats ok. You should see them by default after deployment. If not, create manually Each Role and name should Match exactly with what you gave in JDeveloper BPM Application. Find it under Organization.xml file under your soa project folder. And for each Role map users or ad groups. Also, Initiator Role should have a Human Task of type like Initiator.
    So have you done anyof the above things. But most important, what Errors or Exceptions are you facing. Look at the log files and specially the output file or log where you start your soa server.
    Thanks

  • Urgent - How to create instance of Business Object in workflow at runtime

    Hi all,
       I have a requirement as follows...
    1) I have a Business Object ISUPOD in which the Key field is Pointof Delivery
    2) I am getting the value for Pointof Delivery in the step-2 of my workflow.
    3) Now I want to create a instance for the Business Object using this key field value in my Workflow at runtime and use the instance in the following steps.
    How can I do this ???
    Thanks,
    Sivagami

    Hi Ravi,
      Thanks for the solution...
      There is also a wizard that will generate an activity to do this. We have to just go to Wizards->Include "Create Object Reference" which will create the task  with the BO & Method referred by you.
    Thanks,
    Sivagami

  • Error creating LOV in Business View Manager - cannot be based on current DF

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use Business View Manager for the first time.  I'm trying to create a dynamic, cascading prompt to be used by Crystal Reports.
    I've been able to create:
    - data connection
    - data foundation - simple one table
    - business elements - two columns from the table
    - business view
    - List of Values
    I am now trying to create a parameter in the Business Elements tool.  The parameter needs to be a Dynamic, Cascading parameter.
    When I try to save the new parameter, I get the follow error:
    The List of Values used by this parameter cannot be based on a Business View derived from the current Data Foundation or Business Element.
    HELP
    Thanks

    Could you please help me? I have search through the forum but I couldn't find anything that solves my problem. As I've read in this post (https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=10596716), I've tried to set the value of the variable bpel.config.transaction to requiresNew instead of required but it isn't working.
    I suppose it has to do with the new version of the server but I can't find anything to solve it :(
    Thank you in advance!!! I hope you can help me!
    Best regards.

    Frank,
    I tried to follow the example. This is the file: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_53/labs/restsolution.zip
    The other part of the exercise is to develop an ADF Client.
    At "Step 5: Create the Model Components" when I create the URL_Get the error appears and don't create the datacontrol.
    I check the links and RESTConn and are OK.
    I hope this helps.
