Error creating service call from wizard

Hello,
I am trying to import a static method on a ABAP class using the create service call wizard. It fails in program SAPLWDY_WB_MODEL_WIZARD with an out of bounds error :
In the running program "SAPLWDY_WB_MODEL_WIZARD", part of a string was about to be accessed with an explicitly specified length.
However, this length (2) exceeded the current length of the string (1).
This kind of access is illegal.
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLWDY_WB_MODEL_WIZARD" - in "GET_EXTENDED_RELATIVE_NAME".
The main program was "SAPMSEU0 ".
>>>>>
split l_absolute_name at 'TYPE=' into str1 str2.
   if str2(2) = '%_'.
<<<<<
The error occurs when the type is I, and so the string containing the type length is 1.
I have not had this problem before even though I have imported methods containing the same type in parameters. I understand that nothing has changed on our system.
Kind regards
Steve

hi
go to service call wizard. Select the radio button "use existent controller. iN the controller field, select componentcontroller
In the next step select function module>give the bapi name>Now you have table containing node type, name and object type. Under object type column, make all of them of type C ( context node/attribute ) and complete the wizard.
In your component controller, you will find the nodes as per importing/exporting parameters of BAPi

    Hello,
    try to check the check box in MS Word - File - Options - General - "Open e-mail attachements and other uneditable files in reading view"
    I am not sure how this option really works, but I think you will find it checked. So try to uncheck it.

  • Special Character XML Web Service call from Flex

    Hi,
    Let me first give a little background.
    I have to query and return data in XML format. To do so, I have created a custom DSC component. In cases where XML has special characters, LC throws error saying that XML is not properly formed. To over come this issue I used CDATA tag at DSC component. Now LC works as it should and I returns correct result.
    I have a web service call from Flex to get this XML result. Every time i trigger this web service I get an error message saying </document> tag is missing.
    I understand in Flex, web service returned data is wrapped in CDATA tag, thats what i causing all this issue.
    I am not sure, how to handle this situation, I am sure this is a common problem and there should be ways to work around it.
    I would really appreciate if any one could point me in the right direction.
    Thank you ..

    The web service has four operations in it, I need pingQuery operation execution code since it doesnot need any input value.
    I have used code something like this.. Any one please correct me if I am wrong..
    <mx:WebService
    <mx:WebService> id="webService" wsdl=""https://hydrogen.csd.sc.edu/axis2/services/AcademicHistoryService?wsdl

    I´m working just with EP 7.01 (EHP1) (there´s not any ABAP System in the Portal Landscape).
    I searched for PeopleFinder.xml in the server file system* (it´s the value of com_sapportals_wdf_ConfigFileName property) and nothing was found, so I think that´s the problem but I couldn´t find so much about it.
    Thanks a lot for your time on this thread.
    Rocío.

    Hi Rocio,
    Is this just a regular AbstractPortalComponent iView you have written? What are you trying to do in the code? I don't see any non-sap classes in the error stack only com.sap.*
    Is the PeopleFinder.xml file a file that you have included in the PAR?
    BRgds,
    Simon

  • Completely different AMF request packets for same remote service call from Flex to PHP using ZendAMF

    I was trying to debug why one of the remote-services in our Flex application was failing randomly. What I found was interesting. Completely different AMF request packets were sent for same remote service call from Flex to PHP.
    When the service call succeeds the AMF request packet looks like the following:
    POST /video/flex/bin-debug/gateway.php HTTP/1.1
    Host: localhost
    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Firefox/3.6.15

    Flex Message (flex.messaging.messages.RemotingMessage)     operation = getMemberFromEvent    clientId = 2F997CD0-7D08-8D09-1A9B-0000422676C8    destination = MembereventService    messageId = B46AB58D-2241-83F0-41E4-9FE745565492    timestamp = 0    timeToLive = 0    body =     [      280    ]    hdr(DSId) = nil
    And when the service fails the AMF request packet looks like this:
    ServiceRequest: getMemberFromEvent; RemoteService; getMemberFromEvent
    (mx.messaging.messages::RemotingMessage)#0
      body = (Array)#1
        [0] 250

    Also, following is the error message on Flex when the service fails:
    {Fault code=Channel.Call.Failed, Fault string=error, Fault detail=NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Failed, Destination=MembereventService}
    We are using Swiz as the micro-architecture for Flex development and Zend AMF for remoting between Flex and PHP.
    Any ideas what is wrong here, what is causing Flex to send different request packets for the same service & what I can do to fix it?

    Hi, I know that your post is almost 5 years ago, but have you found the solution to this issue?
    Thanks.

  • FM/Class for creating service confirmation from service order

    Hello Gurus,
    Does anyone know a FM/BAPI/Class to create service confirmation from service order ?
    With warm regards,
    Kallol Bhowmick

    Hello Kallol
    You can trigger a confirmation from service order using action profile.
    Here is how to define action profile:
    IMG > CRM > Basic Functions > Actions > Actions in Transaction
    Dialog Stucture> Action profile:
    Object type = BUS2000116
    Context class = CL_DOC_CONTEXT_CRM_ORDER
    Dialog Stucture> Action Definition:
    Processing time: Processing using selection report
    Check box schedule automatically, Changeable in dialog and executable in dialog.
    Dialog Stucture> Processing types
    Permitted processing types of actions: Select - Method Call
    Settings method call: Method - COPY_DOCUMENT (you can also try COPY_DEF_ITEMS)
    Processing Parameter:
    -Select change icon a new window opens - container editor
    -select create icon another window opens - display container editor
    Here enter following:
    Element = PROCESS_TYPE
    Name = PROCESS_TYPE
    short desp = PROCESS_TYPE
    Tab > Dtype:
    Structure = CRMC_PROC_TYPE
    Field = PROCESS_TYPE
    Tab> initial value
    Here maintain the transaction type of your confirmation.
    save your action profile. Now assign action profile to Service oder transaction type.
    I hope this info helps.

    Hi,
    check whether note 1291058 applies for you.
    Check whether your Stacks and SPs / Business Packages matched correctly with maintenance optimizer.
    Got this error only once while implementing a new portal, it was due to a corrupted deployment, so probably some of the XSS JAVA Components got corrupted.
    EDIT: "Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.sap.pct.crm.core.objectlinks.ObjectLinkGenerator" really looks like something with the JAVA deployment went wrong. Java Stack can't find a class definition in PBO... you haven't modified anything with NWDS/NWDI or have you?

    Hi,
    I'm working with a federated portal network and the producer portal is a BW system.
    My remote role assignment works fine, but not the remote delta links.

    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Mathieu

    Hi,
    thanks for your help. I will update my consumer portal to SP14 and then test again.
    There is in the SAP help this interesting topic: [Version Interoperability|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/43/23fabdcad10d23e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm]
    Consumer-side functionality determines the support level. If content on the producer uses portal client-side functionality (for example, OBN or other navigation related functionality) that is not available or supported by the consumer portal, then the content is not supported in an FPN implementation.

  • Web Services call from SOA to BI Publisher

    Hi,
    I have never worked on this web service call from SOA to BI Publisher funcationality and I am strugulling to understand on how this woks.
    My requirement is that SOA will call BI Publisher on a parameter basis eg( some id) to a report and BI publisher should pick that id and execute the report and place the PDF file (file name is combination of id and date) into specific location in the FTP server and in return BI Publisher should send the response to SOA defining the file name and location of the FTP server.
    Can anyone please help on this. This is a big sore on my head.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your replies.
    Actually I am working on Forms 6i version , so does same solution works on Forms 6i as well.
    Also this application is for address search, so user provides for some key like PostCode etc and then call the Webservice and it will give you list of options.
    Now user will choose and confirm one address.
    Do all this interaction possible using UTL_HTTP?
    After going through link provided , I need to implemented in following steps:-
    1) Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 Create a SOAP_REQUEST.
    2)Create a wrapper program who calls Web Service.
    3) Call this Wrapper Program from our form and PL/SQL Package.
    Please let me know if this sounds OK.
    Thanks a Ton,

  • Configuring SSL to make a HTTPS web Service call from XI

    Hi All,
    We are making a <b>https web service call</b> using soap adapter from XI. Looking at the various posts and SAP help links, we are configuring SSL for the same.
    The procedure given in SAP help has been followed to configure SSL but with no luck. If someone had done this could you please give a <b>step by step procedure</b> to configure SSL, we might have missed out on something.
    Also are there are <b>any other settings apart from SSL</b> to be done to make a  https web service call using soap adapter from XI.
    Cheers,

    But the version of UTL_HTTP inside 8.1.7.4 does not contain the functions needed in the helper package
    Can anybody suggest a means of making SOAP Web Service calls from an 8.1.7.4 database ?I think you'll be very lucky to find anyone here who still has access to a version of Oracle that is that old.... I mean... that's like what? 15 years old at least? I'm surprised you've still got hardware that can run that.
    It would probably help if you could post what code you've got and explain which function(s) it's complaining about, as I doubt people will want to guess.
