Error: deploy BC4J on 8.1.6 database.
Hi all,
I'm trying to deploy of a BC4J project as an Oracle 8i session bean. When I deploy when create the deployment profile, I get ORA-1000: end-of-file on communication chanel. But if I try to make a deploy of an only one file, I get this error:
Compiling Stubs...done
Generating Jar File...done
Loading EJB Jar file and Comm Stubs Jar file...
-- This is the error --
Cannot locate the LoadJava server: Unknown reasons
*** Errors occurred while deploying the EJB to 8i JVM ***
*** Deployment completed ***
But loadjava.bat file was in system path (Windows NT 4.0).
Thanks in advance.
"Cannot locate the LoadJava server: Unknown reasons" is consistent with a jdev - rdbms mismatch ...
are you trying to deploy to 816 when using jdev 3.2 ?
Jdev 3.1 --- 8.1.6
Jdev 3.2 --- 8.1.7
so you may need to upgrade to 8.1.7
that would explain why jdev 3.1.1.2 deploys successfully ...

TQ in advance.Hi Cleber,
Is it possible that you can send me a copy of your original 10.1.2 project which contains these diagrams so that I can take a look? The diagrams should open fine in 10.1.3.0.4.
My email address is [email protected], if you could zip up your project and then change the .zip file extension to .zap to get it through the email server.

Hi!
I am trying to deploy a typical default generated jsp - application based on default generated BC4J components (against a simple table in an oracle 8.1.7 database) to an external oc4j - service.
The application runs without problems in the internal JDeveloper oc4j, but when I deploy it to an external oc4j service, I get the following error:

Re: How to use the classes of ott generated in Visual c++
Also, locate the C:\Jdev9i\BC4J\bin\bc4j2oc4j.bat file, make the necessary changes for the OC4J_HOME, JDEV_HOME, and JDK_HOME and run. This file should setup the BC4J libraries in your OC4J installation. Be sure your OC4J_HOME\j2ee\home\admin.jar is version compatible with the JDEV_HOME\j2ee\home\admin.jar.

Error deploying BC4J to OC4J as EJB.
In order to understand better the correct deploying procedure I created a small scott/tiger BC4J project.
Then I created an EJB deploy using the wizard and deployed it to a fresh O4JC install.
During deploy I receive an "error loading class ....DatabaseModuleServer" where DatabaseModule is the name of my ApplicationModule .
I used only wizards, what did I miss ?
TIA
Tullio
P.S. : I'm using 9.0.3.0 but I tried also with 9.0.3.2do you config the fresh OC4J with BC4J libraries?

Deploying BC4J apps to different platforms/databases
Hi all,
Maybe I've missed something very basic... This seems like it should be a breeze to set up, but after a decent amount of searching the help docs and the forums, I haven't found a good way to specify different database settings for different deployment platforms (e.g. development, QA, production, etc). All I really want to do is point the application to a different database for each different deployment platform.
It seems like the Deployment Descriptor might be a prime place for this stuff, but I don't see anything like that in the deployment settings.
I've also successfully messed around with different configurations on a per-app-module basis (e.g. creating configs called "DEV", "QA", etc with different connection strings)... This works, but it's kind of a hack if you use a lot of different app modules. Managing (in my case) six different deployment platforms for each app module can get tedious.
I can see something in the Configuration properties called "Deployment Platform", but this field is read-only and I can't figure out how to get the app module to point to different DBs based on this property... I also can't figure out how to add any other deployment platforms -- I always just see "LOCAL"...
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. At this point my best option is to create six different configurations in each app module, and call them something like MyBizModule-DEV, MyBizModule-QA, etc... Then I specify which platform to use in a properties file, e.g. "DEV", and when I create an app module, I just append that platform keyword to the app module name to get the configuration name... But I know there has to be a more elegant way of doing this.
Thanks,
JeffJeff,
It seems you are confusing the deloyment platform to the database server being used. The deployment platform property in the configuration is used to determine how the appmodule is deployed --locally, as an ejb session bean or as a corba server. The database connection to be used is referred to by <JDBCName> or the <JDBCDataSource> property. JDBCName refers to the named database connection defined in the ide. <JDBCDataSource> refers the jdbc 2.0 datasource defined in the appserver. Both the mechanisms provide the abstraction for changing the target database url.
Instead of creating different configurations you can change the connection definition for different environments.
Hope this helps

I am trying to deploy BC4J as Ejb to 8i (8.1.6). I use the following deployment method with j: my Jdev root.
setjboenv j: ejb8i
loadjava - u user/passwd@host:port:sid - thin -v - r grant "SYS,PUBLIC" j:lib\xmlparserv2.jar
loadjava - u user/passwd@host:port:sid - thin -v - r grant "SYS,PUBLIC" j:lib\jbomt.zip
loadjava - u user/passwd@host:port:sid - thin -v - r grant "SYS,PUBLIC" j:lib\jboejb.jarI then create a deployment profile for ejb 8i with the ide. (Without deploying)
I then use loadjava outside the IDE to deploy the 2 jar files created
MyProject1CommonEJB.jar
and
Myproject1.jar
I then use the ide again to deploy the bean profile
Package1ModuleServerEJB.prf
The last step fails with the error :
Publishing EJBHome...org.omg.CORBA.BAD_PARAM: null Strings are illegal in IIOP. Please correct your application or run the ORB in backward compatibility mode. minor code: 0 completed: No
void oracle.aurora.ejb.deployment.GenerateEjb.invoke()
void oracle.aurora.server.tools.sess_iiop.ToolImpl.invoke(java.lang.String[], java.io.InputStream, java.io.PrintStream, java.io.PrintStream)
void oracle.aurora.ejb.deployment.GenerateEjb.main(java.lang.String[])
Exception in thread main
Strangely, when I test this EJB with the tester (middle tier = remote ejb) it works, but from JSP's I get an application error : "Unknown Exception"
I am using Jdev 3.1
Also using the deploy option when creating the deployment profile fails apparantly due to the missing grant "SYS,PUBLIC" when loading classes to the database before deploying the bean.
What can be done ?
nullHi Blaise
Thanks for the reply. I have tried to do the complete deployment from within Jdev, but now I get the following error right at the end of the deployment.
/BC4J1AppModuleEjb/EjbObject_RemoteBC4J1AppModuleEjb:ORA-29535: source requires recompilationjava.lang.NullPointerException at sun.tools.java.Environment.error(Environment.java) at sun.tools.java.Environment.error(Environment.java) at sun.tools.java.Environment.error(Environment.java) ..... etc.
I have tried to deploy to a clean schema with the java privilages granted as described in the Jdev release notes.
I included the following libraries in my project :
JBO JDBC816 PATCH
JBO OSQL Domains
JDeveloper Runtime
Oracle 8.1.6 JDBC
Connection Manager
JBO Runtime
JBO VB Runtime
JBO 8i Runtime
SQLJ Runtime
JBO 8i Client
JBO Vanilla Domains
JBO EJB Runtime
JServer
Oracle XML SQL Utility
ORACLE XML Parser 2.0
Then I just used the deployment wizzard

Problem with deploying bc4j into Oracle 8i
Hi ,
We are trying to deploy bc4j in to Oracle 8i. Using the
business componets tutorial as a guideline, we have created
business components for a master detail relationship between dept and emp tables. When tested using the business components tester in
JDev 3.0 in the local mode it is working well. Then we made
the application remotable to be deployed as a corba object in
Oracle 8i database. When the deployment is done the following errors
are occuring during resolving.
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/DatabaseTransactionFactory
Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/DatabaseTransactionFactory
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
resolving: oracle/jbo/common/remote/PiggybackReturn
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/xml/JTPersistable
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/xml/XMLContextCustImpl
oracle/jbo/server/xml/JTStorageOutput is already resolved
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/java/util/Iterator
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/rules/JboSQLCompareValidator
Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/rules/JboSQLCompareValidator
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/ValidationManager

resolving: oracle/jbo/common/CheckedListResourceBundle
resolving: oracle/jbo/DeleteEvent
Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/DeleteEvent
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
resolving: oracle/jbo/common/PiggybackObjRemovedEntry
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/rules/SQLBindUtility
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/ViewRowCache
Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/ViewRowCache
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/ContainerObjectEvent
resolving: oracle/jbo/domain/Char$1$facClass
Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/domain/Char$1$facClass
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
But at the end we are able to resolve all classes from the sqlplus using alter java class .... resolve.
After resolving all the invalid classes manually, when we try to test
the application using business component tester in Oracle 8i mode
we end up with the error
String index out of range: -25
The same thing happens when we are trying to deploy the business components as an ejb in Oracle 8i as well.
Oracle 8i (8.1.5) is running on Windows NT. Java pool size is 60MB
Ramanujam SYou need to configure the Java shared pool size in the init.ora for the RDBMS. The default is 20 MB and this is not enough for deploying the BC4J into the RDBMS, try 50 MB (or more if you can afford it). There are a lot of classes in the BC4J and the resolver needs a lot of temporary space to take care of loading and resolving these.

Error while reading file entries from the database
Hi there,
We are running a instance of xmii 12 in a VM (VMware) and after somebody shutdown the host machine without shutting down the VM (great idea isn't it?) we keep getting this message when trying to access xMII:
"Application cannot be started.
Details: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Error while reading file entries from the database."
Any clue? Any suggestion on how we can recover from that?
Thanks a whole lot,

Prolbem deploying BC4J in Oracle 8i for NT
Hello,
We're testing the sample of BC4J distributed with JDev 3.0.
When we test it localy, it works ok. Our problem arises when we
try to deploy the BC4J as a EJB on Oracle 8i on NT. First when we
deploy the BC4J runtime the deployment process returns some erros
like the following one:
Error while resolving class
oracle/jbo/server/DatabaseTransactionFactory
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
resolving: oracle/jbo/common/remote/PiggybackReturn
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/xml/JTPersistable
resolving: oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
(Oracle 8i has 100Mb of Java Pool Size and we tryed
increasing this aspect but without results)
After the BC4J runtime finished, the BC4J deploy stars
returning the next error:
Reading Deployment Descriptor...done
Verifying Deployment Descriptor...done
Gathering users...done
Generating Comm
Stubs............................................................
...................done
Compiling Stubs...done
Generating Jar File...done
Loading EJB Jar file and Comm Stubs Jar file...done
Generating EJBHome and EJBObject on the server...
An exception occurred during code generation: null
*** Errors occurred while deploying the EJB to JServer ***
*** Deployment completed ***
Does anyone know which is the problem?
Thanks in advance.
nullOK. I know it's bad form to reply to your own messages...
I've found and executed the SQL script but the SELECT statement returns no rows.
I'm still getting ORA-29554 for a number of classes. A java_pool_size of 120Mb has made no difference. Can anyone suggest any other settings that might be causing the problem.
Maybe somebody who has successfully deployed BC4J to 8i could post/email me a spool of "show parameters" from server manager....?
Thanks,
Rob.

Urgent!!! problems deploying BC4J to Oracle 8i
I have the following problem deploying BC4J to Oracle 8i as EJB :
When I tried to deploy as an EJB following the guidelines in the following help page:

BPM11G- Error deploying project due to integrity constraint on BPM_CUBE_GL
I have a 11.1.1.3 installation on XP where I have deployed other soa projects. I tried deploying a new bpm project from a tutorial but it always errors out with the following error. I checked the local database for all BPM_CUBE* tables. Only one table had a few entries that I cleaned out. No luck with deploying a bpm project. I checked the forums here as well, but there do not appear to be any earlier problems logged.
Any ideas?

(oracle.tip.tools.ide.fabric.deploy.common.SOARemoteDeployer)hi peoples,
i'm pretty new with Oracle BPM and now i have the same problem with deploying my application.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
tnx -
hello, i'm trying to deploy process flows, getting this error. privileges on my workflow manager are set correctly but it looks like something is not ok with connection to database. workflow server looks ok and i can manage it through oracle workflow manager. everything else in owb works ok, i can deploy other objects with no problems.
this is only problem on my client computer, deployment works fine from server ?
any idea ?
already checked tnsnames, replaced host with ip, tnsping ok...
server: win2000
client win XP pro
oracle 9i: 9.2.0.4.0
owb: 9.2.0.2.8
owf: 2.6.2

ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not existHi,
Do you happen to use localhost to refer to the Oracle Workflow engine? You should use a DNS entry to refer to the Workflow engine. The way this works: when Warehouse Builder deploys to Workflow, it creates a database link back, using a DNS lookup to the machine. If you specify a non-DNS entry, then whatever comes back will be different from what you specified as a host name. This causes the problem. Please re-register the Oracle Workflow engine using a DNS name entry.
Thanks,

Edited by: Shirleen on Jul 2, 2009 11:12 AMHi, Shirleen, I have recently uploaded a new version of the sample mobile application to Oracle Technology Network that would work with the latest/current version of JDeveloper (11.1.1.1.0). Please try to download it at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/wireless/adf_mobile.html.
Also, from the error message I am unable to see anything specific that could help, but I would just make sure that you have FOD schema already downloaded and installed, and have configured the database connection in the sample application to point to the database running the FOD schema.
Thanks,

JBOSS WONT DEPLOY BC4J.EAR - FAILS
Following instructions found elsewhere in OTN, I have set up JBOSS to use BC4J by copying relevant files to the JBOSSHOME/lib/ext folder and by deploying BC4J.EAR into the JBOSS deploy folder. Deployment fails mentioning that it is missing a class ...emd.EMDServlet. This class appears in emd.jar and BC4JHTML.jar alike, probably the latter is relevant (not sure). Has anyone else had trouble deploying BC4J.EAR? Using BC4J.EAR from JDeveloper 9.0.3.
Would you please post more error message?
