Urgent!!! problems deploying BC4J to Oracle 8i

I have the following problem deploying BC4J to Oracle 8i as EJB :
When I tried to deploy as an EJB following the guidelines in the following help page:
Contents help--> Developing Business Components-->Deploying Business Components-->Creating Deployment Profiles and Deploying
I get the following error :
An exception occurred during code generation: Class not found: bc4jEjbtrial.common.ejb.DeptAppModHome.class
*** Errors occurred while deploying the EJB to JServer ***
Could someone please tell me where I am possibly going wrong?

What version of jdev are you running? The Bc4jtrial package sounds suspicious.
Thanks

  • Problem with deploying bc4j into Oracle 8i

    Hi ,
We are trying to deploy bc4j in to Oracle 8i. Using the
business componets tutorial as a guideline, we have created
business components for a master detail relationship between dept and emp tables. When tested using the business components tester in
JDev 3.0 in the local mode it is working well. Then we made
the application remotable to be deployed as a corba object in
Oracle 8i database. When the deployment is done the following errors
    are occuring during resolving.
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/DatabaseTransactionFactory
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/DatabaseTransactionFactory
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/common/remote/PiggybackReturn
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/xml/JTPersistable
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/xml/XMLContextCustImpl
    oracle/jbo/server/xml/JTStorageOutput is already resolved
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/java/util/Iterator
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/rules/JboSQLCompareValidator
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/rules/JboSQLCompareValidator
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/ValidationManager
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/ValidationManager
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/TransactionListener
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/TransactionListener
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/common/CheckedListResourceBundle
    resolving: oracle/jbo/DeleteEvent
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/DeleteEvent
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/common/PiggybackObjRemovedEntry
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/rules/SQLBindUtility
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/ViewRowCache

ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/ContainerObjectEvent
    resolving: oracle/jbo/domain/Char$1$facClass
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/domain/Char$1$facClass
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
But at the end we are able to resolve all classes from the sqlplus using alter java class .... resolve.
After resolving all the invalid classes manually, when we try to test
the application using business component tester in Oracle 8i mode
we end up with the error
String index out of range: -25
The same thing happens when we are trying to deploy the business components as an ejb in Oracle 8i as well.
Oracle 8i (8.1.5) is running on Windows NT. Java pool size is 60MB
    Ramanujam S

You need to configure the Java shared pool size in the init.ora for the RDBMS. The default is 20 MB and this is not enough for deploying the BC4J into the RDBMS, try 50 MB (or more if you can afford it). There are a lot of classes in the BC4J and the resolver needs a lot of temporary space to take care of loading and resolving these.

  • Prolbem deploying BC4J in Oracle 8i for NT

    Hello,
We're testing the sample of BC4J distributed with JDev 3.0.
When we test it localy, it works ok. Our problem arises when we
try to deploy the BC4J as a EJB on Oracle 8i on NT. First when we
deploy the BC4J runtime the deployment process returns some erros
    like the following one:
    Error while resolving class
    oracle/jbo/server/DatabaseTransactionFactory
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
    resolving: oracle/jbo/common/remote/PiggybackReturn
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/xml/JTPersistable
    resolving: oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
    Error while resolving class oracle/jbo/server/util/JboSQLUtil
ORA-29554: unhandled Java out of memory condition
(Oracle 8i has 100Mb of Java Pool Size and we tryed
increasing this aspect but without results)
After the BC4J runtime finished, the BC4J deploy stars
    returning the next error:
    Reading Deployment Descriptor...done
    Verifying Deployment Descriptor...done
    Gathering users...done
    Generating Comm
    Stubs............................................................
    ...................done
    Compiling Stubs...done
    Generating Jar File...done
Loading EJB Jar file and Comm Stubs Jar file...done
Generating EJBHome and EJBObject on the server...
An exception occurred during code generation: null
*** Errors occurred while deploying the EJB to JServer ***
    *** Deployment completed ***
Does anyone know which is the problem?
    Thanks in advance.

OK. I know it's bad form to reply to your own messages...
I've found and executed the SQL script but the SELECT statement returns no rows.
I'm still getting ORA-29554 for a number of classes. A java_pool_size of 120Mb has made no difference. Can anyone suggest any other settings that might be causing the problem.
Maybe somebody who has successfully deployed BC4J to 8i could post/email me a spool of "show parameters" from server manager....?
    Thanks,
    Rob.

  • Problem Deploying Composites to Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 (STUCK Thread Issue)

    Hi All,
I got stuck thread issues when deploying composites to Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 running on Windows Server 2008 R2. Even the SimpleApproval composite which ships with the standard installation is having trouble deploying.
The composites are deploying fine in Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 running on Windows XP.
I'm not so good with thread dumps, so I post it below for rescue.
    Please advice,

  • Problem deploying EJB to Oracle 8.1.7

    Hi,
I'm facing a problem while deploying EJB on to Oracle 8i.
I'm using oracle 8.1.7 under Linux (RedHat 7.0).
Also I'm using JDeveloper 3.2.2 (working under Windows NT)
JDeveloper came with JDK version 1.2.2, but I'm using
    JDK 1.3(to use connection pooling).
Classes compiled and says it is error free.
But when I try to deploy this it gives me an error message saying

Later I copied aurora_client.zip from Linux on to JDeveloper version.
Still I get the same error.
    Any idea?
    Expecting your valuable suggestions.

I am wondering about the classes in the database. This is from metalink.
    SELECT count(*)
    FROM dba_objects
    WHERE object_type LIKE '%JAVA%';
If the above query returns a number < 4000, the installation was not
    successful.
The query below checks for any invalid Java classes using a Java stored procedure:
    SELECT dbms_java.longname(name)
    FROM sys.obj$
    WHERE type# = 29 and status != 1;
If the above query fails or returns any rows, then something is wrong with the JVM installation.
You can also test the Jserver by using the examples in
    $OH/javavm/demo/examples/corba/basic/helloworld
    or
    $OH/javavm/demo/examples/ejb/basic/helloworld
To compile classes in the database
    Alter Java Class " Name of the java class" compile;

  • Urgent: problem running reports in Oracle 10g application server

    Hi all,
our problem is that we deployed a jsp report as Ear file in Oracle 10g application server in infrastructure node.deployment says successfull.when we try to run that report it says 401 unauthorised.while sending request we are passing the database username, password &sid is this correct or any configuration setting to be done to make it run.
one morething normal jsp works fine.when we run reports jsp it gives the above mentioned 401 error.

    hello,
when you deploy reports JSPs they still require the reports specific componentes (e.g. TLD file, classes, ...) etc be available. i doubt that's the case in your ear file.
    thanks,

  • [URGENT]Problem in upgrading to Oracle BPEL 10.1.3

We were trying to upgrade to Oracle BPEL 10.1.3 from 10.1.2.0.2.The current system had Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2),BPEL 10.1.2 and AS B2B Integration 10.1.2.0.2 and it was working fine. Now we are trying to upgrade to BPEL 10.1.3 so we installed Application Server 10.1.3 and when we tried to install AS B2B 10.1.2 (as we couldnt find any later version than this in OTN) its giving a version mismatch. Can anyone please give the compatibility details,we want both BPEL and B2B running on same application server. Please help.

    Hi
    The requirement for 10.1.2.0.2 B2B
    - Oracle Home for metadata repository. This could be the basic 10.1.0.4 infra db that you get or could be a standalone with REPCA run on it to create the required schema's
    - Oracle home for midtier (B2B will get deployed into this midtier). This midtier version is 10.1.2.0.2
    The requirement for BPEL
    - Oracle Home for metadata repository. This could be the 10.1.0.5 infra DB or 10.2.0.2 DB version. If you wish to use the same DB as what is being used by B2B, then you need to run a patchset to update the 10.1.0.4 db to 10.1.0.5
-Oracle Home for BPEL server (10.1.3)and J2EE and Web cache(10.1.3)
So we have two separate Midtier Oracle Home for B2B and BPEL.
We could have one DB Oracle Home for both if the existing DB is upgraded, else the metadata repository will also have separate one.
    Thanks,

    Dear all,
I created a project with business components inside JDeveloper (version 9.0.2.829). During the deployment the bc4j.xcfg files are not stored properly into the generated jar files. The bc4j.xcfg file is always empty although the file on the output directory is correct.

Look at your deplyoment profile settings and make sure that all the files are being included.

  • Issues with deploying BC4J/JSP applications on OC4J

To everyone who's been having problems deploying BC4J/JSP applications to OC4J.
We are aware that you're having problems deploying to OC4J, and we're working on them. OC4J was not available in time for us to add support for OC4J deployment to the JDeveloper 3.2.3 release. In addition there are some bugs in the first release of OC4J that have an impact on BC4J applications. This note describes the issues, and how we plan to address them.
    Issue 1: Classpath problems
People have been getting "class not found" or "properties file not found" errors when they try to run their JSP. The answer is to make sure that all relevant archives and your JSP's .properties file are in the OC4J classpath - there's a note addressing the .properties file problem at http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum99/HTML/000028.html. In general though, setting up the classpath can be tricky.
Issue 2: JSP TAG NOT RELEASED ON END TAG. SAME TAG IS REUSED.
This issue affects JSP pages whose behaviour relies on a tag instance being cleaned up as a result of release() being called.
Your tag will not be released, and subsequent instances of the tag will reuse the first instance, rather than instantiating a new
    one.
    Issue 3:JSP SCRIPTABLE VARIABLE NULL
A scriptable variable set in a tag cannot be accessed by a scriptlet. For example, this JSP code will throw a
NullPointerException, because the scriptlet cannot access the value of resultRow:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
%>Workaround: Add a line of code at the beginning of the scriptlet to explicitly get the variable's value from the page context, for
    example:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    resultRow = (oracle.jbo.Row)pageContext.findAttribute("resultRow");
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
    %>
    What we plan to do
To address issue 1, we're currently testing a utility that installs the BC4J runtime libraries to OC4J, and provides a script to start OC4J with the correct classpath. We plan to post this by the end of this week, along with instructions for deploying a BC4J application to OC4J; deployment will be a lot simpler after running the utility.
To address issues 2 and 3, we're working on a second utility that installs BC4J runtime and provides a fix to the JSP compiler. We plan to post this second utility by the end of next week.
We do apologise for the problems you're having; please bear with us as we work on making it easier for you to deploy BC4J applications to OC4J.
    Thanks
    Blaise

Hi, I have been trying desparately to deploy
a simple example JDeveloper application for months and months.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN DEPLOYING ANYTHING.
I don't know much about webservers and I am relying
on the instructions from JDeveloper help and this website.
I have already tried Apache, and WebLogic
because there are instructions in the JDev help.
    No luck.
Now I am trying to use OC4J on 9ias because there are instructions.
I have read the instructions about how to install a BC4J
app on OC4J about 25 times, but I can't get this thing to work.
It works fine inside of JDeveloper.
I create a BC4J project using the scott
schema (just the dept and emp tables).
Then I create an empty project for my JSP client.
I choose JSP Application from the web
objects and it connects to my BC4J project.
As I say, when I run it in JDeveloper, there is no problem.
In the instructions for installing BC4J
in OC4J, it first says install JDev 3.2.3 and OC4J.
This is done, and it tested fine.
Then it says to install the deployment software.
    No problem.
But when I deploy the app according to the instructions,
it just hangs (like Rick Wang's program did).
The main.jsp page loads and displays correctly,
but when I click on the links to the DeptView.jsp
    or EmpView.jsp it just hangs.
Here is the entire batch file I'm using
    to start OC4J: cd c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home\lib

    java -cp C:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home\orion.jar;%CLASSPATH%
    com.evermind.server.ApplicationServer
    pause
The file al_BC4J.jar contains my application.properties file
and my connections.properties file, as well as my business components.
All of the files referenced in my classpath are
    present in my c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home\lib directory.
I noticed that Raghu's classpath contains a file called jdev.jar
So does the classpath of another fellow who says
he was successful in deployment (his name is Jeffrey Jackson).
I searched my JDev_3.2.3 for this file and found it nowhere.
I also searched my OC4J home and my 9iAS for this file and
    found it nowhere.
It is nowhere on my C:\.
    Is this file necessary?
I will also try removing my application.properties file
and my connections.properties file from my BC4J .jar file
and put them in a separate .jar file at the root level (as Raghu did).
However, Jeffery Jackson did not do this and says he was
    successfull in deployment.
***DO I NEED TO JAR UP ANY OF MY THE FILES FROM the JSP
    FOLDER IN JDevHome\myhtml???***
***or place them in the classpath?***
I have read over all of the discussions at: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum2/HTML/008232.html
    and http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum99/HTML/000028.html

  • URGENT Problem with Greek Character from an Oracle database

Hello, I am having a serious and urgent problem with the character settings of an oracle database (8.1.7). The database is sitting in a solaris unix server and when we run the env command we have the following in the NLS_LANG parameter: AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 (I do not know if this is helpful). When I retrieve data from oracle database (through a VB.NET 2005 program)to a dataset I use a special font in order to see the greek characters (HELLASARIAL). But when I am trying to save these data to a TXT file the greek characters are like Chinese to us. I tried several encodings (System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(869)) but without success. Can someone tell me how to convert the oracle greek characters during the selection or during the saving to the TXT file?
Please respond as fast as you can.
    Thanks in advance

Here is the answer of the microsoft:
I have the information that you have a VB.Net 2005 application connected to an Oracle database 8.1.7.4 hosted on a UNIX server.
This database has the CharacterSet WE8ISO8859P1.
When retrieving Greek characters from this database in the application, you cannot see them.
Could you please send me a screenshot of these characters in the .Net application?
Are they displayed as gibberish, or as inverted questions marks (?)?
I already had similar cases with Hebrew characters hosted on an Oracle database.
These characters were displayed as questions marks on the client side.
This is due to the fact that System.Data.OracleClient is using the Server CharacterSet to display the characters.
If your Greek characters are not stored in the WE8ISO8859P1 characterset, then they won’t display correctly on the client-side.
This is different from OLEDB where you could interact on client side by modifying the NLS_LANG parameter in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0.
The client NLS_LANG and the server CharacterSet had to match in order to correctly display the data, and avoid SQL*NET conversion.
So there are two solutions to your case:
    - The first one is to create a new database using the P8 characterset. The Oracle .Net managed provider will so be able to use it and display the characters correctly.
    - The second one is to use the OLEDB.Net managed provider, and then use OLEDB for Oracle provider. OLEDB will take care of the client NLS_LANG registry parameter.
Would it be possible to test your application against an Oracle database with WE8ISO8859P8 characterset?
Would it be possible to test it with the OLEDB .Net managed provider, and after checking the NLS_LANG client registry parameter?

    Hi Cleber,
Is it possible that you can send me a copy of your original 10.1.2 project which contains these diagrams so that I can take a look? The diagrams should open fine in 10.1.3.0.4.
My email address is [email protected], if you could zip up your project and then change the .zip file extension to .zap to get it through the email server.

URGENT : Problem in DataSource usage in Client applIcation
    Hi ALL
I have deployed a EJB(Session Bean) in Oracle-OC4J Container.I am using datasources, in my bean as well as in my client
application. Here Client is deployed along with bean in container.
I am using "ejb-location"JNDI Name inside Client to get connection.
(Which is mentioned in datasource element of datasources.xml)
For this i have configured datasources.xml also.
If i use "oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource" in datasources.xml then ClassNotFoundException is coming.
But i have included classes12.jar in home/lib directory
But if i use "com.evermind.sql.ConnectionDataSource" then i am getting connection. But if i do some operations(Even
    setAutoCommit(false))its giving NULL PointerException.
    Why this is happening?
    Thanx in advance
    Venky

    Hi Venkastesh,
There are two issues. If your entry is like this....
    location="microDS"
    xa-location="jdbc/xa/MicroXADS"
    ejb-location="MicroPool"
...then use ejb-location for database calls through ejb and location when you try to get through normal java client.
    This will help you.

You can use Oracle Software Packager. It can be found on this site.

  • Problem deploying an ADF Application - SOLVED

I am having a problem deploying an ADF Faces + BC4J application to my 10.1.3.1 App server. When I deploy to the Jdev embedded oc4j or to a standalone oc4j from Jdeveloper, everything works fine, but when I deploy to the app server, the first page submit gives me an error "Error setting property 'actionEvent' in bean of type null"
I can deploy and run a simple ADF Faces BC4J test page, but my real app fails.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.2, oc4j 10.1.3.1 and app server 10.1.3.1, all with the latest adf runtime.

    Frank,
some further information. My app has a login page, which is what gave me the error about an actionEvent. If I bypass the login page and go straight to the app I can open a jspx with adf components in it, but as soon as a submit the page (button clicks etc) I get the 'bean of type null' error. This time I can capture the stack though:
