Error deploying first CMP EJB

I'm trying to create and deploy a simple CMP EJB and am getting the following error
upon deployment:

I have tried using both EJBGEN and XDoclet to generate my classes and descriptors,

Error when accessing CMP EJB methods

I get a strange error, when I access a getter method in my remote interface to query the variables in my CMP EJB. I use Jdev 3.2 agains Oracle 8.1.7.
I can see that the error must be originating from the persistance manager BC4J XML, but not sure how to resolve it, any help is appreciated.
The line having the problem is the second line;
portofolio.Portofolio remoteInterface = homeInterface.findByPrimaryKey("Fantacy");

How did you map the CMP-fields? I got the same Exceptions when I mapped a column which is DATE type to java.lang.String. DATE type column should be mapped to java.sql.Date.

Error deploying Bean with EJB QL statement in ejb-jar.xml

Hi,
I'm using Oracle iAS 9i Rev:9.03.
I've tried to deploy a Entity Bean with the following EJB QL Query:

Without the query statement everything works fine. As soon as I include it I get the following Error message from dcmctl:

Is this an Oracle iAS error or is there an error in my query?

and Processparameter is the correct name of <abstract-schema-name>?
is your <ejb-ql> insert in the right <entity> ?
findByProcessStep(Integer, Integer) is the unique name in your ejb-jar? and in the (LocalHome ||RemoteHome)

Problems when deploying an CMP EJB to websphere

Hi,
I am trying to deploy my ear file which contains some CMP Entity Beans and a Session Bean on to websphere.
I have tested my app on JBoss and Weblogic and it works fine. I believe i need some vendor specific info in order to deploy onto WS, but i dont know what it is.
When i do deploy to WS i get the following error.
EJB [TestEJB] is misconfigured: no CMP mapping defined by OpenEJB DD.
Could someone let me know what this info is or where i can get it from.

ORA-00904 Error while running CMP EJB

When I am running my CMP bean, I get following error,

ORA- 00904: "T0_A"."ACCOUNT"."ACCOUNT_NUMBER": invalid identifier.
Why is it giving invalide identifier? the length of this identifer is also less then 30 and there are no special characters being used in it.

I think I have read that you cannot use the "." to navigate through the object, you can only use it for accessing a field of an object (i.e. a column of a table in the DB).
So, never use more than 1 "." in your requests. In your case, I guess that you need to reformulate the request.

Error while deployment of CMP 2.0 bean on weblogic 11g

Error Deploying CMP Entity Bean

I am new to Entity Beans and am trying to deploy a CMP Entity Bean without any success.
I did search this forum for similar issues and tried those suggestions as well but that has not helped. Was wondering if someone could help me out on this.

I�ve read the forum in search for an good answer and found some sugestions to look in the security and transaction tab in order to force the tool to generate the entries for the methods. It did not helped at all.
I tried to change the defaults in transaction tab from "required" to "mandatory". When I save, the tool presents the root screen of the jar file, but when I go check the values of the transaction atributes, they are again set to "required" .
In the descriptor viewer for the application descriptor it shows:

P.S.: Ok. Isnt it silly. I wrote all that, and then choose "supported" instead of mandatory, saved and verified that it saved the setting indeed. returned to required and runned the test. It worked.

CMP Ejb not deploying

Hello all,
Im running WLS 6.1 with SP3 evaluation version on Win2K Pro with Oracle
8.1.6 database.
Im new to Weblogic's deployment of EAR files. I am facing the following few
problems when i try to deply any cmp entity bean:
1. Though a common file that the EJB jar depends on, is present in the EAR
file, I get errors NoClassDefFound errors for that class. I read posts which
talk about how WLS is a bit different in this regard and that common files
will have to added separately to the classpath or bundled with the ejb jar.
However isnt that defeating the purpose of an EAR file?
2. I added the common class to the classpath in the startup script and
restarted weblogic. I get the following message on the console :

and am trying to deploy it but repeatedly failing.
3. Also could somebody point out a good online article/book/paper, which
talks about WLS 6.1 deployments of EAR files, rather like Websphere's
redbooks do about WAS?
If anybody has any idea of any of the above issues, I would be grateful if
you could mail in a reply.

The issues are resolved now.
1. This classpath entry problem was a bit mystifying. The manifest entry was
correct and it should have picked it up automatically. When i restarted the
server though, it started up properly.
2. The CMP problem was a bit more troublesome. I think it was because of an
incorrect datasource and connection pool properties. I used utils.Schema to
check my database connection and once i got the url and driver name
correctly it worked.

Error in deploying a simple EJB 3.0

I am getting the following error while deploying my simple ejb of version 3.0 in Weblogic 9.2.
Exception preparing module: EJBModule(build) [EJB:011023]An error occurred while reading the deployment descriptor. The error was: Error processing annotations: java.lang.NullPointerException.
During my evaluation of Weblogic 9.2 for EJB 3.0 , I have got the following questions.
EJB Specification states that EJB's in EJB 3.0 can be developed and deployed without the need of deployment descriptors. I have created a simple EJB with two file Env.java and EnvBean.java and the source code is given below.
a) I just complied these class files and when I was trying to deploy without ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, the console was not at all allowing me to deploy.Why is this so?
b) After I created a META-INF file under root of classes directory by placing ejb-jar.xml with empty <enterprise-beans> element, console was allowing me to deploy with errors in parsing ejb-jar.xml. The error was either session/entity/mdb is a required under <enterprise-beans> element. Why is this required when there are several examples stating <enterprise-beans> element can be empty.
c) Later I updated ejb-jar.xml with <session> element under <enterprise-beans> with the following values. I got the above error when deployed with this change.
I had been struggling to deploy this simple bean for almost a day.Pleas point me if there is any documentation that solves my stated problem or if there is a solution.Thanks in advance.

This may happen because javac is not available to weblogic.
Make sure that PATH environment variable used to start the server includes path to Java SDK bin dir with javac in it.

Error deploying ejb with jdev 9.0.3 to 9ias 9.0.3

Hi:
I am trying to deploy a simple ejb created with jdev 9.0.3. I have used local dcm connection type for deploying . I have already installed the dcm servlet, but when I try to deploy my ejb i get the following error:

I have discovered a strange thing. I created a new OC4J instance which I called it: Intelap
When I deploy to the recently created instance Intelap, jdeveloper success. But when I set OC4J_home in the optional instance field, I got the previous error.

Hi,
I'm trying to deploy an EJB jar file on WL6.0 in a Solaris environment, but I'm
encoutering the following error. The EJB jar deployed fine on a Windows system,
but I keep on getting this error on a Solaris machine. Any help/info would be

Weblogic Deployment Descriptor for CMP EJB

Hi all,
Am new to EJB, CMP. Pls help me how to write deployment descriptors for the CMP EJB for Weblogic.
Give me the list of the Deployment descriptors needed and also pls give me some samples

The easiest way is to go through some tutorial or refer the code samples. If you have installed weblogic, there are examples provided in the weblogic installation folder itself for each type of bean. Basically for cmp you have to provide the table names and mapping between the class variables to db fields in weblogic_cmp_rdbms.xml deployment descriptor.

Hi,
I have written a trivial application consisting of 4 stateless beans and 1 MDB. The ear is developed from some code generator tool and works fine if I directly deploy on weblogic server 812.
But in order to learn Weblogic Workshop I created new Application and EJB project. Then I imported the EJB jar and provided other source files.
From Weblogic Workshop I could generate the ear successfully. But while trying to deploy the ear I get the following exception :

Try to undeploy and un target the applcation via WLS console and they try to deploy it again. Or just try to redeploy it.
