Well, I can tell you that this kind of error is not OS related, but rather a HW thing. It happens where there is a general detection of something going wrong. Sometimes it can happen randomly and might not be an indication of a problem. But sometimes it can be caused by things that are improperly functioning within the system like bad capacitors.
Unfortunately I don't really know what to do about such things except give you machine a proper inspection. But if things are working fine, and continue to do so, I wouldn't worry about it. If it becomes a regular occurance, then I'd worry.

DRM-61045 : Error found for 11.1.2.4 version

Recently I have joined oracle community and got really good feedback and help from all followers.
Hope we will stay connected and troubleshoot issues.
Right now I'm working on DRM installation & configuration of latest version 11.1.2.4 on Windows 2012 Standard R2.
I have everything configured but whenever tried register with EPM registry getting an error "DRM-61045: There is no running CSS bridge process for this application" .
When I had checked Event log, it was showing as error message:

I think we might have actually just identified this as a bug & this is being looked into at the moment. I've found over the past week or so that it does work if the CSS Bridge component is running on Server 2008 but the rest of the components are running on Server 2012. If you're also getting the error below in the event log on the machine where the CSS bridge is trying to start I think you've got the issue I've been having a look at:

In order to get the CSS bridge running on another Server 2008 box (which works as a temporary measure for me) you would need to:
1. Install and configure foundation services on a separate Server 2008 machine
2. Install the DRM CSS Bridge on the Server 2008 machine (but don't configure DRM configuration console).
3. Configure CSS tab of DRM configuration console on Server 2012 box to point to the Server 2008 box (Configuration > Host Machines > CSS > General > CSS Bridge Host).
4. Ensure that DRM service is started on Server 2008 box then start the DRM service on Server 2012 box
5. Hopefully you'll see the drm-netjnibridge-host.exe process start on the Server 2008 box if you check the task manager and you'll be able to use CSS users
I've tried every other possible permutation I could think of to get the drm-netjnibridge-host.exe process started on Server 2012 but without success. Hope this helps.

Suddenly we got this error while running an export via batch utility. any ideas?
Error: DRM-79819: Encryption error: Config file encryption is not valid for this machine.

This could be an issue with your drm-config.xml file, the file that stores the DRM configuration information defined in the DRM Console. If a drm-config.xml was restored from an old backup or copied from another machine, this could well be the issue.
In this case, you can run the DRM Console to update the file and correct it. You may see a one-time error reported when the DRM Console starts up, but the Console app should correct the file automatically after reporting the error to the user.
If this does not resolve your issue, review the Windows App Event Log, to determine which DRM Server process(es) are also reporting this error (to narrow down any other potential issues with a config file for one of the DRM Server executables). I am guessing this error was observed in just the DRM Batch client, but related Event Log should also be present in the App Event Log.

*** An additional note, if your issue proves to be the one above, you may need re-enter passwords on your defined Database Connections for defined DRM Apps. Try just re-running the DRM Console and re-saving the config initially, but be aware this may be a required additional step, re-entering the DB passwords after the updated encryption has been applied to the stored drm-config.xml file.

DRM 11.1.2.1 from mdm 9.2

Hello All
I ran the repository wizard to migrate MDM 9.2 to DRM 11.1.2.1 but now I see that the migration did not bring in the aliases
We saw this error.DRM-25611: Delimiter character must be exactly one character or [tab] or [space] or [comma].
Does anyone know how to resolve this ?

We migrated from 9.3.2 to 11.1.2.1 six months back successfully though it was NOT a simple task as suggested by Oracle.
We upgraded from 9.3.2 to 9.3.3 first as per Oracle recommendation and then from 9.3.3 to 11.1.2.1
The entire migration process is simple and can be performed from the admin console.
However, I would ask you to first do the upgrade in a Dev environment and reconcile all the exports from old/new environment to find out which of the attributes are not working in the new version as desired.
This is the most painful task I would say in the entire upgrade. There were few formulae which is different in the new version.
We had lot of attributes which We had to re-configure.
Other than that, things went smooth.

Arch Linux on Toshiba CB30

Hi,
I just followed the instructions to make SeaBIOS default. After I set that and enabled the write protection again, it didn't boot Chrome OS? Is this normal behaviour?
It also shows gbb.flags is nonzero 0x000000489 at the OS verification screen.
Then later on when SeaBIOS starts it gives the following errors

Macs are weird. First, they aren't UEFI; they're EFI 1.x. (UEFI is EFI 2.x.) This isn't the root cause of your problem, though, just something to keep in the back of your head. The root cause of your problem is that efibootmgr won't work on Macs, because in its Infinite Wisdom, Apple decided to ditch the EFI standard when it comes to managing boot loaders, and instead use its own proprietary system.
The easiest way to install a boot loader on a Mac is to do so from OS X using the "bless" utility. Given the partition scheme you've described, it sounds like you may have completely removed OS X from your computer, or at the very least broken it to the extent that it won't work. This gives you two options:
Boot OS X from a removable disk. Something like an OS X installation disc should work. This will enable you to use "bless" to manage your boot loaders.
Boot Linux in EFI mode and use a stripped-down version of "bless" on it. It's part of the mactel-boot package. I think there's an Arch package for this, but I'm not positive of that.
There are various descriptions online of how to use "bless." The one for which I have a link is my own rEFInd documentation, in its manual OS X installation section; however, that's a "cookbook recipe" description that just presents a couple of example uses of "bless." You might want to try a Web search to find more detailed documentation. The Linux version is stripped-down and different, and I don't happen to know the details of how you'd use it.

Silverlight problems with Netflix

Setting up my new 11.6" MB Air I had multiple error DRM codes when trying to instantly watch Netflix movies. I called netflix and they had me 1. uninstall/reinstall Silverlight (no go) 2. create a new user account (no go). I called Applecare, no help. Searched the web for a while and put together a few tips that worked:
1. Move the following to the trash:
HD>Library>App Support>Microsoft>Silverlight
HD>Library>App Support>Microsoft>Playready
HD>Library>Internet Plug-ins>Silverlight.plugin
Empty trash, reboot, go on Netflix and try to stream movie, it will ask you to reinstall silverlight. After the installation I was able to watch movies instantly. Hope this saves someone the 4 hours spent.

I followed your instructions and it worked great for Safari! Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm still having the same issue with Firefox. Netflix "hangs" on a black screen when I try to instantly view a movie. Is there a "tweak" within firefox I should try?

Invalid EDID / Lose display, can only access system via SSH

Hello, I'm having some trouble with my system.. did a couple updates via pacman -Syu (including a kernel update) and now my system stops responding after the 4th line in the arch startup.. here is the dmesg log showing the errors:

Before you proceed to add the line shown below, I'm guessing you're unable to access and PING 172.20.16.8 once you've successfully VPN in, am I right? If yes, which groupname and username did you use? Lastly, did you use IPSEC VPN Client or WebVPN?

Eee constant freezing

hi guys,
ive installed arch on an external hdd connected to my eepc (usb), everything is working fine (alot better than xandros) but there is one small problem
Every few minutes (pretty randomly) xfce freezes, the mouse still moves but i cannot click on anything or type anything.
I can ctrl+alt+f2 to another terminal, and if i do this then 'tab' (ctrl+alt+f7) back into xfce it has everything is fine again, until it happens again.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? is it something to do with arch being run from an external hdd, or is it something graphics related?

Hi, I have the same problem with an Eeepc 1000he using xrandr and vga output. For the time being, I've given up on using the external monitor altogether, because none of the Intel Driver combinations I've used has worked.
All of the following scenarios use intel-dri 7.4.1-1 and xorg-server 1.6.1-1. All occurred while running X both with and without an xorg.conf file. The only difference in each scenario is the version of the intel driver:
1. With xf86-video-intel-legacy, xrandr works as expected initially, but my external monitor flickers ever couple of minutes and periodically goes blank. Even after restarting X, I cannot restore video to the VGA. Only rebooting enables me to do that.
2. With the current xf86-video-intel 2.7.0-3 (no KMS), I experience the problem you describe above: the screen freezes (except for the cursor), though clicking on the mouse still causes events in X. Switching to a virtual console and then back to X revives the screen.
Note, with scenarios one and two, dmesg reports mutiple instances of the error: [drm:i915_get_vblank_counter] *ERROR* trying to get vblank count for disabled pipe 0]
3. With the current xf86-video-intel 2.7.0-3 and KMS, I experience more serious problems when using xrandr to switch monitors (turn off VGA and turn on LVDS or vice versa). Most of the time X freezes and it is impossible to switch to a virtual console and the only solution is recourse to the Magic SysRq key. The machine also freezes if I have the VGA monitor on, LVDS off, and I switch to a virtual console.
I would be most grateful for any advice. I've scoured the bug reports online and have read about similar problems occuring with the intel driver multiple times over the past year or so. My guess is that I'll have to hold off on the external monitor until the turbulence of changes in the kernel (i.e., kms) and xf86-video-intel settles down.

PROPVALUE(Core.Node Inactive) is not valid

I am creating parameters in a Property Definition and would like to capture core.node inactive, but I receive the error "DRM-25623: Invalid property name 'Core.Node Inactive' found as a parameter to function: PropValue (I also tried Core.NodeInactive with same results). Does anybody know how I can get this value? The goal is to have the property definition be output in an export so users can filter by various properties (Node Inactive being one). I looked in the manual and the inactive nodes have no replacements, so ReplacementAbbrev/ReplacePropValue cannot be used.

Why do certain cd not import properly

Hi
Every now and again I get a cd which does not import properly, when itunes is importing the songs at some point the importing slows down by a ridiculous level after it finish that certain song the next one won't import and cause the disc drive to rotate faster and make a sort skipping sound.
I have been able to counter this by ticking the 'use error correction when importing CDs' option but this takes forever to import, none of my cd show any signs of damage and most of them are brand new.
Could this be a disc error/drm or my disk drive?

Should mini displayPort work with stock kernel & nouveau?

I've just set up Arch on a MacBook 5,1 (nvidia GeForce 9400M & mini displayPort graphics output).
X11 works fine out of the box (stock kernel & xf86-video-nouveau). However, if I connect a external screen with a mini displayPort -> VGA adapter, the external screen only shows some vertical lines. I see the following error:

Apparently, such a setup should work with the latest kernel (nouveau driver) and xf86 nouveau driver. In fact, some folks at RedHat report so with my very same hardware setup: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=642728
Anyone has sucessfully setup a external monitor with Nouveau & mini displayPort?
Any help would be much appreciated, as this feature is critical for me.
For the record I'm using this from the core / extra repos:

You're right, but I forgot to mention that the Samsung display is just an LCD monitor, so I don´t really need to get audio output for both connections
Currently, I use an HDMI-to-DVI adapter to connect the Samsung monitor, but I'd like to use the HDMI output to connect my LCD TV instead (and probably a home theater system in the future), and use the Mini DisplayPort output for the monitor, so that I can have a dual-display setup.
I asked this question, because I read the description for the Mini DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter in the Mexico Apple Store web page, and that description tells that only Macbooks support the adapter. In the US Apple Store page, it does tell that the adapter is supported by any Apple computer with a Mini DP connection, so I just wanted to confirm which description is true, to avoid confusions.
