Hi,
There is a strange problem while running an report in Crystal Reports Server.
I've build an report in Crystal Reports Designer 11.0.0.1282 and in the client it works just fine, no error message or so.. It's a quit simple reports that only has two sub-reports that are all using the same datasource.
After i installed / uploaded this report to the server there's this strange error message. The report doesn't work and this is the error message:
Error in file D:\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\nlw2k3cr02.reportjobserver\~tmp1268606e23173d6a.rpt: Error in formula <Record Selection>. '{swtickets.ticketstatusid} = 3 and ' This fieldname is not known. Details: errorKind
The field is in the database, so what's wrong...

The report is saved with the usual user cresidentials, and when i remove the sub-report it works just fine..
Do you have any suggestions what's the best way to upload a report to the server?

I receive this error when running a report in our C# .NET windows form viewer hitting an oracle data source. If I run the exact report against a MSSQL data source, it works fine. If I run the exact report in Crystal Designer against the same oracle data source it runs fine. At runtime, in our viewer using crystal's .NET SDK (XI R2) we change the database connection info. If the user is connected to MSSQL, then we set the connection information with MSSQL parameters. If the user is connected to Oracle, then we set the connection information with Oracle parameters. If I remove the formulas from the report and run in our viewer hitting an oracle database, the report does not get this error. If I run this report in our viewer which is point to a Oracle server from Crystal designer without modifying the runtime database connection, it works fine. This tells me that the connection information is being set incorrectly at runtime, but I have double checked all the properties and attributes at runtime with what is stored in the report and they are exactly the same. We are using Table.ApplyLogOnInfo to apply the connection changes at runtime. Any help would be appreciated.

Transfer Billing document to accounting, Error: 'Object not known in COu2019

Hi all,
I have created an acquisition contract and subsequently created a billing document in CRM but when I try and transfer this to accounting, the system displays error message IAOM028 u2013 u2018Object not known in COu2019. My account assignment category on the contract is EROBJ u2013Profitability Segment CO-PA, however I have tried creating acquisition contracts with other account assignments but the same error occurs, even though the controlling object exists in SAP ERP. Iu2019ve searched the SAP notes and I did see note 683886, but this affected release 4 and we are working with release 7. Any help or advice in resolving this error would be much appreciated.
Alternatively how do I mark the item category as not relevant to CO? For now itu2019s not imperative that I post to a controlling object? The SAP help portal refers to selecting (or in my case deselecting) the Service setting in the Assign BW/CO fieldu2019 but I canu2019t find this field on the item category. Any advice again would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
The reason might be the transfer error, is due to the incomplete distribution of the order/contract to R/3 account assignment table IAOM_EXT_OBJ_INF.
For your invoice, check entry for document number/item number. It might be missing and if so, system shows error message as you mentioned.
If entries are missing, then the order/contracts need to be re-distributed to R/3, so that the entries are created for these missing items in the IAOM tables. The transfer process then will complete missing entries successfully.
To re-distribute to R/3, the respective document needs to be save after making a change in the document. Unless there is a change in the document, the re-distribution will not happen.

Moving alphabet month folders into new year folders, error cause not known

I have my folders listed aphabetically eg JAN 14 in my catalog and am now trying to add new year folders and drag the relevent folders into the year folder, I keep getting an unknown error has occurred and the folder cannot be moved . This is on my laptop using an external hd but my catalog is on the 'c' drive. I have already completed this on my main desktop machine whith an external hd, any help would be appreciated.

I'll clarify my statement above regarding my iMovie Events folders: I tried to open them with iMovie, won't do it. I've not used iMovie much at all to be honest. I can't think of where these files called "iMovie events came from to be honest. Maybe somewhere in the distant past I tried to use iMovie to organize video content, but I can't recall one way or the other.
I reconnize the video content, mind you, but how it got labeled "iMovie" I'm not sure. That is everything I recognize from when I was using FCE. Never been a big fan of iMovie: slow, clunky, limited. Good for when I first started.
Here's my delimma: can't open it in iMovie or FCPX. I can import it in either, but as described above, it started make either duplications (in iMovie) or quadruple in FCPX. Not sure why the import feature is causing such an effect on the video.
I am puzzled as to why it would be labeled iMovie events and not open in iMovie.
Now to set out really learning media management in FCP X
Any other advice or ideas on how to import a single file as a single file (not duplicates/quads) or to get iMovie to recognize and open the files within iMovie so I CAN share it over to FCP X?

Field not Known Error in Crystal Report 11

I was using Crystal Report 8.5 earlier and i had a field named "Fee $" in the query and it was working fine when i pull the report in VB Application using Crystal Report Viewer. But when i migrated to Crystal 11 things started breaking. Crystal Report 11 is not supporting "Fee $" as column field and generates error Field not Known. And when i change it to only "Fee" removing special character "$", thing started in place. I appreciate any help on this.

I get the following error when running a report in Infoview. The report works fine in Crystal Designer.

We are deploying this report through CA Clarity and when I reviewed the application logs, I found the following error message

For debugging purposes, I removed the formula that sets a bg color depending on a condition.
After recompiling and uploading to Infoview, I get the following error.

It seems that it has problems processing formulas.
Anyone faced a similar issue?

CRVS2010 Beta - Sporadic "This field name is not known. Details: errorKind"

I am running CRVS2010 Beta 2 on the VS2010 trial version. I have been converting reports to this new version, but sometimes I get the error:
This field name is not known. Details: errorKind Error in File XX11X1 {1X1111X1-1XX1-1X1X-111X-11111111X11X}.rpt: Error in formula tot-appr: '{@commited0}+{XX11X.AMT1} + {XX11X.AMT2} + {XX11X.AMT3} + {XX11X.AMT4} + {XX11X.AMT_FUT} ' This field name is not known. Details: errorKind
I have done a lot of searching on this forum, Google, and Bing, but it seems everyone who receives this error message has just created the report or moved it to a new database, and the error is caused by a mis-pointed formula. I don't have that problem: in my case, the report usually works.
I have tried querying the Oracle database immediately after receiving this error, and all the fields mentioned do exist, exactly where they ought to. The problem never exists when logging on with my own account, and sometimes works when logging on with other accounts, but I have not figured out a way to predict whether it will work or not.
I have four reports I am running: one always works, two get this sort of error sometimes, and one (which is formatted differently) always shows up without errors, but is sometimes inexplicably blank. I cannot figure out in what way the report that always works is different from the two with this error (aside from obvious issues of layout and querying different tables, I mean).
I'm at a loss for where to look next. I know this information won't be enough as-is, but I hope that your clarifying questions can help me find the error.

Are you using a data Set? I believe the System.Data.OracleClient is the .NET Oracle client but not sure and not sure how reliable it is or what it's based on.
What happens if you create a new report using the DataDirect OLE DB provide or Oracles OLE DB provide or use CR Oracle native driver?
In the Connection Wizard select Oracle, that's the native driver, then when set log on info you just specify the Server name, User and PW, leave the database blank.
Then what API's are you using to connect/set the log on info?
I'm guessing that the error you are getting is likely an indexing problem in the table names etc. but not sure. if you search in this forum on "crlogger.dll" you could enable our database logging component and it may give you more info on what the cause is.

I have a report in CR11.5 r2 that I call from VB6.
The report works fine, until a I create this formula, Trim ({RSE.PatName}).
When I put this formula field in a section in the report, I have this error, "Field name is not known Error".
Any idea?

Make sure you have SP 6:

Does the formula work in the designer?
Are you changing datasource at runtime? If so, can you change to that datasource in the designer and run the report there?
If you do not use the Trim function, does it work?
If you do not use the field in a formula abd place it in say, the detail section as a test, does the report work?
But remember that what ever the report is doing at runtime, must work in the designer 1st.

BPM_DATA_COLLECTION fails with (Output device "" not known) error

Hi all,
I have an issue with Output BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 job in the satellite system failing with 'Output device "" not known error. Since it is collecting data for Solution Manager system why does is it trying to find an output device.
It did not fail before and now I added another key figure (custom one) which is done the same way the other custom monitors are done in "Z_BPM_ECU_COLLECTOR" report and then in /SSA/EXM program, but the collector job started to fail.
Also, for some reason there are two BPM_DATA_COLLECTION jobs, one is BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 and the other is BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2. _1 runs every 5 min and _2 is less frequent. They both seem to runt the same job which is /SSA/EXS. Why are there two jobs scheduled from solution manager in my satellite system?

I am experiencing this same issue in our ECC 6.0 system. We currently have ST-A/PI release 01M_ECC600 level 0001 applied to our system. These jobs finish successfully in SM37, but I'm seeing the same error messages in our system logs (SM21).
When I try to update the output device that is associated with these jobs, the user ID running the jobs is not valid since it's user type is Communication Data.
Does anyone know if it ok to change the user for this job? Should it be run by DDIC? I believe the jobs were created automatically when we applied ST-A/PI release 01M_ECC600 level 0001.

"Name not known" error in all PCR of the MSS Package

Hi,
I'm getting an error in the PCR workset of the MSS package.
When I submit any form the error which I get is
"Name not known.Check your entries" .
Is this due to some problem in R/3 settings?
Also when I submit a PCR "Request for separation(enhanced)" I get an exception.
The log entry for this exception is as follows:

With other words, you are using the BP for MSS 60.1.5 or later.
Can you connect to the backend via a Java Connection?

Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer error: "The field name is not known"

My report runs fine in the Crystal Reports viewer. When we try to view the crystal report through a piece of 3rd party software, I start to get errors in a few of my formulas indicating that "the field name is not known". I can clearly see that the field is in my crystal report. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on what might be happening?

Just to provide some further clarification on my problem:
The "field name is not known" error seems to be occurring only in a few formulas where I have a statement like this:
if ISNULL({somefieldfromdatabase}) Then
I've used this for many other formulas and not had an issue with them. I've verified that the database and the stored procedure contain this field.

I've upgraded from Crystal 8.5 to Crystal XI.
I've converted all my reports from Crystal 8.5 to Crystal XI.
When I try to run the report I get the error:
The Field Name is not known and nothing else.
I did upgrade the report and verified the database.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
If I delete the formula, and after I create it (by handle) the report will good.
But I have about 1000 reports !

Crystal Viewer error "This field name is not known"

I have MAS500 with crystal 10 that runs a report from a view in a SQL data base and it ran fine when only MAS500 and ABRA were installed on the terminal server. Then we installed a new product CribMaster that also uses Crystal 10. After CribMaster was installed we got the error "This field name is not known" from Crystal viewer. The report has a selection parametar . I feel that there is a dll file that got over written, but do not know which one. I can run the report from Crystal OK, but not from within the application.

Since you can run the report from Crystal OK, but not from within the application, I'd recommend trying to figure out the dlls loading, or not in the app. Use a utility such as [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] to determine the differences. Modules will compare the log results for you (Module menu, choose "Differences").
You may also want to consider contacting the app creators to see if they can help...
