ERROR in 9i standby - ORA-01153

Hi,
I am getting error while firing
"recover standby database " command in my 9i standby.
We are manually moving the archivelogs to standby from production, and firing the above command. All are done thru scheduled scripts .
We have a recovery_run log file, with the detailed description of the recovery process running at standby.
----------The following is an extract from the alert log file.---------------

echo "exit" >> /tmp/reco.sql
su - ${ORAUSER} -c sqlplus "/NOLOG" < /tmp/reco.sql | grep -v "Corpo" | grep -v "Manager"
i checked the v$lock, and found that there is only one active session, which is holding the MR locks.
It was working fine, and today we started getting this error
Any idea about what is happening over here?
Thanks in advance,
Don

At the standby, i also checked
SQL> select max(sequence#) from v$log_history;
And the max sequence number is getting incremented.
That means, the archive logs are getting applied in the standby perfectly... right?
But, how can that happen, since we are getting error while this command is run from the script?
please help me out , to solve this issue.
Thanks in advance,
Don

    Hello;
Generally for the connection to work you need to add something like this to the listener.ora file :
    (SID_DESC =
        (global_dbname = STANDBY.hostname)
        (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2)
        (sid_name = STANDBY)
)You should stop and start the listener on the Standby after adding this. Also your tnsnames.ora must be correct on both the primary and the Standby.
Also you need an INIT for the Standby side :
    STANDBY.__db_cache_size=343932928

    Keys to success
    1. New Standby start NOMOUNT on new password file. ( On Oracle 11 you must copy and rename the file from Primary server )
    2. Hard coded listener on new Standby server.
    3. Correct tnsnames.ora files.
    4. Correct duplicate command.

Warning: Apply error received: ORA-26714: User Error encountered during apply process. Clearing.
I watched this link http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17069/strms_trapply.htm#i1014714 and I checked grants of schemas owners. These grants identical as on Primary DB Server.
I don't know what I need to do. It's very critical Server. Please help me.

So, my problem is solved very easy.
Logical Standby didn't work because I added grant SYSDBA to temporary user and revoked this grant at once and I didn't change orapwSID file on Logical Standby from Primary.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25608/create_ps.htm#SBYDB00424Note:
Whenever you grant or revoke the SYSDBA or SYSOPER privileges or change the login password of a user who has these privileges, you must replace the password file at each physical or snapshot standby database in the configuration with a fresh copy of the password file from the primary database.
    >
So, I deleted temporary user on Logical Standby and it solved the problem.
Thanks a lot to all who helped me!

ORA-12528: TNS:listener: all appropriate instances are blocking new connections
ORA-12528:     TNS:listener: all appropriate instances are blocking new connections
Cause:     All instances supporting the service requested by the client reported that they were blocking the new connections. This condition may be temporary, such as at instance startup.
Action:     Attempt the connection again. If error persists, then contact the administrator to check the status of the instances.
This is mostly the error that is there when we try to give a startup after a shutdown. Most probably its a temporary error.I faced it once but there was nothing relevant that I could find for it.What I tried was shutdown, wait for some time and again startup.
For the second error message, you have issues with your control file.As others already have asked, is your controlfile available and read/writeable?

    Hi all,
I need one help. In our one schema we have design like one temp and one parmanent table. The parmanent table is partition and we are used to exchange this partition with temporary table.
It was working fine but since last many days we are facing a issue that while exchanging the table partition or coz some activity the table get courrepted and get the following error

    Thanks

It was working fine but since last many days we are facing a issueReview the changes that might have happened to the server in those past few days. OS upgrade, OS move, Oracle upgrade, post installation steps unsuccessful/not completed could be some of the many reasons, among others that Oracle support will identify when you open a SR, as suggested above.

    Hi,
I am trying my first clone on R1213. We have a split tier configuration. I am able clone the database server successfully.

    derigistered bothe the servers
    ran autoconfig on the DB
Verified the contents of FND_NODES table.
Everything looks fine, but it still errors during autoconfig.

    There is tnsnames.ora under $TNS_ADMIN

Like the error message says, you don't have a global_lexer.  So, you need to create a global_lexer and that lexer must have at least a default sub_lexer, then you can use that global_lexer in your index parameters.  Please see the demonstration below, including reproduction of the error and solution.

  • Report suddenly showing ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502:

    Hi,
Some reports in my applications are suddenly showing:
ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
instead iof the data they used to show.
In my development system I can fix this by:
    1. changing the column alias in my sql
select 'a' alias1 from dual becomes
    select 'a' alias2 from dual
    2. SAVE CHANGES
    3. change column alias back to original
select 'a' alias2 from dual becomes
    select 'a' alias1 from dual
    4. reorder columns back to original in the 'report attributes' tab
alias1 is now at the bottom of my colum list - i just bounce it up to column 4 using the up arrows
    5. SAVE CHANGES
then everything starts working OK again.
There seems to be nothing wrong with my sql as I can make it works on a new page or after I run the above steps, so I guess something is breaking somewhere but I cannot work out what.
Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know the cause? Does anyone have a fix for this that does not involve the above steps (plus redeployment to prodcution and all the work that involves)?
I am seeing this on version 2.3 and 3.0.
    Thanks,
    Martin

  • Error creating Streams example - ORA-01729: database link name expected

Running 11gR1. Example from doc, "4 Single-Database Capture and Apply Example"
the database name is "11G3". when I run the Step 3 statement below, I get the error below. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
    DECLARE

The manual stated to be GLOBAL_NAMES compliant which means DBLINK=target DB_NAME and SID cannot start with a figure. I strongly suggest to pay a careful look to manuals as Streams has a lot of others tricks under the hat awaiting for you.

  • Oracle OTT generates error O2T-1117 Error reported by subsystem ORA-01017

When I run the OTT tool with the following arguments:
    ott userid=ayokomiz/******@ora11gm intype=ott_updatedata.inp outtype=ott_updatedata.out code=cpp hfile=mtgeclrm_updatedatadb.h cppfile=mtgeclrm_updatedatadb.cpp mapfile=mtgeclrm_updatedatadbmapping.cpp transitive=FALSE
It gives me the following error:

    ========================================================================================
I am sure the connection string in "userid" is correct, because I can connect to Oracle SqlPlus using the same connection string.
Also, when I change it to another user's connection string, it works.
The ottcfg.cfg file is empty. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Edited by: user13469591 on May 8, 2012 6:57 AM

I managed to have a work-around this issue; I've added the following option: "-config=my.cfg" where my.cfg file contains:
    userid=ayokomiz/******@ora11gm
This makes it work. The string in the file is the same as the string in the "userid" option as a command-line argument. However, it points to a bug in the OTT tool.
