Error in air application created by flex builder

Hi all,
When I export the release version of an AIR project, and
attempt to
run the resulting AIR file, I get the error "The application
could not
be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a
new AIR
file from the publisher." This happens every time, with every
project.
I even created a new project, and tried exporting that
project without
adding any of my own code to it and still the same error. The
export
process does not generate any errors.
I ' ve adobe cs3 and Flash Player 10. Adobe flex_sdk_3 and
airsdk also installed.But .air file was can't install
Thanks in advance,

hello tzeng,
The air file was created by using Flex Builder 3 .One xml
file and mxml file were used. The project export release the .air
file (installer package ). When i install the .air file that error
has occured.
Thanks for reply,

  • Error when trying to install any air application from my flex builder project

    I have a serious problem, I am unable to install any exported air file created in my AppTest project. I just keep getting an error saying: "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author."
    I am using FlexBuilder 3 to build and export my app release build. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
    Adam

    I'd try un-then-reinstalling and making sure any overlay that you're applying (update of SDKs, etc.) are done correctly.

  • Air 2.0 in Flex Builder 3

    I need to use the NativeProcess API available in Air 2.0 so went about doing this by including the Air2.0 SDK in Flex Builder 3 which gave me access to the APIs. I wrote my app and it worked beautifully within Flex Builder 3.
    However, when I export a release build (.air file) and attempt to install it I get the following error:
    "Sorry, an error has occurred.
    This application requires an update to Adobe AIR that is not available for your system.
    I have installed Air 2.0 on my system (done it several times to make sure).
    I have the following namespace in my .xml file:
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.0beta">
    Could this be the issue?
    If anyone can shed some light on this that would be great.
    Was looking forward to using the features offerred in Air2.0 but am at a stand still now.

    Hi Neha,
    Again thank you for your help but unfortunately still cannot get this working, I have resorted to using the exact files (except the swf) and instructions at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/flex/quickstart/interacting_with_native_process_print.html to try and get some sort of example of NativeProcess working and after some tweeking got it to build the exe but running it gives me the same error i started with:
    "This application requires an update to Adobe AIR that is not available for your system."
    One of the tweeks i made was to the namespace in the xml file, it had to be:
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.0beta">
    http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.0 was not recognised running the adt command (got error 102: invalid namespace).
    I really want to be able to get this working so I can determine if NativeProcess is the solution to my project.
    Maybe if I explain my needs you could possibly offer a better, proven solution:
    I have an existing Air desktop app (originally Air 1.0) that is invoked from the browser, I would like an additional feature to this app that executes a command line call to make something happen on the users machine - specifically add a track to the users iTunes library.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bilge.

  • Need guidance in developing AIR Application based on flex 4.0.0.10396 sdk beta.

    Hi Friends,
                I need to develop a desktop mail client for web based RIA developed in extjs. The air application has to communicate with a flex application hidden inside the web app and get the SMTP Details and send mail using the socket connection.
    Till date i have found few plugins and i am testing out each one of them.
    1) byteArray SmtpMailer for socket mailing which has login authentication, attachment support.
    2) suiggly with halo rich text editor for spell check enabled mail composer.
    3) flash network localConnection for communication between web flex hidden inside extjs ria app and air app, The flex application and extjs application communicate using FABridge.js.
    4) updateFramework for frequently updating the air app with new features.
    Drawbacks i face:
    1) ByteArray SmtpMailer works fine but i am unable to find a plugin for SSL encryption support which is required for connecting with gmail SMTP server.
    2) The flex web application size grows upto 1.8MB(approx) with all SDK librarys which are part of 4.0.0.10396 SDK, which is thrice as big as the extjs RIA app.
    3) The updateFramework for updating a air application throws errors, which is diffcult to troubleshoot or understand by novice like me.

    Ok, just figured this out. The cert I created was somehow malformed. I simply created a new one with the Flash IDE which worked fine. Any other method of creating the cert that I tried failed, including the keytool command line utility.

  • Error launching AIR application, Debug works

    Hello!
    I just tried to develop an air application that grabs current actions from our local intranet. While developing with aptana everything worked fine. Then i created the .air package and installed the new program.
    But everytime i want to start the program an windows error occurs. Testing the project with aptana or directly with the adt-file throws up NO error. Everything works fine.
    Has anyone an ideo of what is happening here?
    I cant run the program after creating with aptana, same with creating directly with the Air SDK command line tool.
    Here's a jing video of what i mean: http://www.mypoo.de/tmp/adobeair_error.swf
    Thank you

    Hi. I don't think we've seen this before. The engineer who
    handles this area is out on vacation this week, so I apologize if
    it takes us a bit to follow up.. In the meantime, would you mind
    posting your exact steps? I.e. are you literally just running the
    AIR project wizard, adding some code to the default application it
    generates, and clicking the debug button? Anything else? You're not
    double-clicking the -app.xml file directly by any chance, are you?
    If you could also note the version of Dreamweaver you have
    installed that'd be great.
    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Error installing AIR application jledwardianadventcalendar.air

    Hi,
    I'm trying to install an AIR application but keep receiving the error message:

    I don't have an answer, just wanted to share your frustration. I'm running Windows Vista on a Toshiba Satellite with 40+GB free hard disk space and 2GB RAM so space is not the problem.  All updates have been made.
    My AIR log shows the identical error info. I have requested help from the application's author, which first suggested it was Firefox causing the problem, but downloading from Chrome and IE made no difference. Nor did reinstalling AIR.  A friend was able to download this app with no problem. And I was able to download the other (somewhat smaller) JL app with no problem, which really seems strange.
    Hoping someone here with more tech knowledge might be able to offer a suggestion.  If I get a helpful reply from the app author, I'll be sure to share it.

  • Error uploading air application to Apple

    I am getting an error trying to upload an app to the iOS store.
    The application was developed using FlashBuilder 4.7 and Flex 4.11.0.
    ERROR ITMS-9000: “No architectures in the binary. Lipo failed to detect any architectures in the bundle executable.” At SoftwareAssets/SoftwareAsset (MZItmspSoftwareAssetPackage)
    Does anyone have any ideas as to what this error is?  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    I found my problem there was something configured wrong on the Mac I was using.  Switched to a different Mac and it took the upload.  Not exactly sure what but I think it had something to do with the version of the Application loader and OSX.

  • Actionscript + SQlite error.... help!  (flex builder)

    Ok, I have narrowed down my error to have been coming in some way from the following code:
    [CODE]
    for (var i:int = 0; i < size; i++)
    try
       createStmt = new SQLStatement();
       createStmt.sqlConnection = conn;
       var sqlInsert:String = "insert into FilesMaster (\"f_ID\", \"f_Name\", \"f_PreferredName\") values(" + model.getDataResult[i]["f_ID"] + ",'" + model.getDataResult[i]["f_Name"] + "','" + model.getDataResult[i]["f_PreferredName"] + "')";
       createStmt.text = sqlInsert;
       createStmt.execute();
    catch(error:SQLError)
       trace("Error message:", error.message);
       trace("Details:", error.details);
    [/CODE]
    This code executes just fine, and the processing continues on to allow me to then add this table to a datagrid.  But once its done, I get the following error:
    [CODE]Error #2044: Unhandled SQLErrorEvent:. errorID=3115, operation=execute , message=Error #3115: SQL Error. , details=near 'index': syntax error
    Error #2044: Unhandled SQLErrorEvent:. errorID=3115, operation=execute , message=Error #3115: SQL Error. , details=near 's': syntax error[/CODE]
    The datagrid populates fine and the code executes as expected...
    but what does this error mean?
    I tried switching the above INSERT code with the following and i no longer got the SQL error...
    [CODE]
    createStmt = new SQLStatement();
    createStmt.sqlConnection = conn;
    var sql:String = "INSERT INTO FilesMaster (f_ID, f_Name, f_PreferredName) VALUES(" + i.toString() + ",'moo','cat');";
    createStmt.text = sql;
    createStmt.addEventListener(SQLEvent.RESULT, insertResult);
    createStmt.execute();    [/CODE]

    I would try this:
    continentArray = new ArrayCollection(event.result as Array);
    And if that does not work then ensure event.result is not just a string.

  • AIR application do not compile

    Hi All,
    I created a new AIR Application in my Flex Builder Version 3 (build 3.0.2.214193). Say, the name of the new AIR application is 'Test10'. So the main mxml file is created autimatically as;
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
    </mx:WindowedApplication>
    Now I run this application and I get a empty window. So far so good..
    Now I change the code a bit as;
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
    </mx:Application>
    And now when I run the application, I don't get the window. I deleted the content of the bin-debug folder and executed it again. But I don't see Test10.swf file generated in bin-debug. I don't see any problem or console window too..
    Any idea as why this happens???
    Thanks

    If you use mx:Application in your AIR app, the app will not display. You must use WindowedApplication as your root tag.
    I agree that we don't provide good feedback, but this would have required some special-casing in the compiler which we have tried to avoid.

  • AIR apps won't launch from flex builder

    Hi,
    I am currently working on my first AIR app inside of Flex
    Builder 3. For some reason, when I try to launch, profile, or debug
    the app, it does it's normal "Loading.." message in the
    bottom-right corner, but will never launch. The loading message
    just disappears and the app never shows up. I do have the AIR
    runtime installed. I receive this message when trying to profile
    the application:
    Process terminated without establishing connection to
    debugger.
    Command:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder
    3\sdks\3.0.0\bin\adl.exe" "C:\Personal\Freelance
    Projects\MyBoatData_Prototype\bin-debug\MyBoatData-app.xml"
    "C:\Personal\Freelance Projects\MyBoatData_Prototype\bin-debug"
    Output from command:
    invocation forwarded to primary instance
    Can anyone help?

    If you are using mx:Application, you need to set visible as
    true in the app.xml file.
    Also make sure that no instance of adl is already running. If
    so kill that instance via task manager.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

  • It got setting error on multiple locales under Flex builder

    Hi, i try to build a multiple locales application with Flex Builder.
    When I try to configure "Flex compiler":
    i enter "-locale en_US,fr_FR -source-path+=/locale/{locale}" for additinal compilere arguments.
    Then there are errors:
    unable to open 'C:\eclipse\Flex Builder 3 Plug-in\sdks\3.2.0\frameworks\locale\en_US,fr_FR'
    I already to generate fr_FR with "copylocale.sh en_US fr_FR"
    May i know what happened?
    Thanks

    I solve this issue.
    for manual compile with
    -locale=en_US,fr_FR
    But under Flex builder with
    -locale en_US fr_FR
