Error in BPE Adapter

Hi,
I Want to Know How to Configure BPE Adapter.
I have Done the Scenario of Arpit's given in WEBLOG File to RFC to File using BPM.
I m getting the Following Error.

<sap:code area="BPE_ADAPTER">Unknown Message</sap:code area>
No Message Type found for this type.
Plz Suggest me.

XI 3.0 SR1 = SP 9.
Until SP 9 to activate a BPM in cache you need an access key (which can be requested from SAP), An access key is needed to create/change the custom programs. SAP realized that BPM is not a program rather it is configuration they corrected it with OSS Note 708338.
To apply the note, you have to configure the OSS1 transaction and go to SNOTE transaction and apply the note.

In SXMB_MONI, Overall status displays as "Manual Restart Possible" error as attached below.

also my Integration process has return code 0 in SXI_CACHE.
I also want to know what are the software's required in PI related to BPM for both JAVA and ABAP Stack. i have a SAP PI System with version 7.31.
Please guide me to solve this error and also inform me if any configuration related to BPE adapter is missing or not.

i have a simple file to file scenario...with a BPM in which i have a send, a receive and one transformation...
on running the scenario..i get the error in the MONI

Error ID: UNKNOWN MESSAGE...

Tcode : SXI_CACHE
Select your integration process which you created in IR and activate.
again you will get the return code is 2 and again activate your integration process until you will get the return code is '0'.
Prerequisite for BPM : check tcode : SWF_XI_CUSTOMIZING
all are in green hook , if not get all are green hook

Error from BPE Adapter using in Async Sync scenario

Hi,
I'm trying to use a Asyn Sync pattern with BPM:
1)File adapter get a file from AS400, split it several XML messages and send to XI(Async)
2)XI get each message and forward to BPM using XI adapter
3)BPM has to send the message to R/3 via BAPI (Sync)
4)R/3 reply the result message to BPM(Sync)
5)BPM has to send the result message to e-mail system if an error had occurred in BAPI call (Async)
When I send directly from File adapter to R/3 works like a charm, but when I want use the BPM, a soap header error says to me, that cannot identify a data type that Im using in the message sent by File adapter.
The error that I'm getting is BPE Adapter UNKNOWN_MESSAGE in soap header.

I got the same problem after installing new patches.
This is what I had to do:
Go to SXI_CACHE
- Choose Business Processes
- select your Buisness Process
If your buisness process has Return Code 99
- Click "Repeate Activate" button
- On the next screen, click Activate again.
This worked for me. Good Luck!

BPE adapter : message not used by any process

hi frnds,
I've created 2 scenarios using BPM
1) merge scenario: 2 msgs ==> BPM ==> 1 msg
1st msg is going without any problem. but 2nd msg is giving error saying 'BPE ADAPTER ERROR: message not used by any process'. i checked in sxi_cache and found that return code for Intg'n process is 0 only. but still i tried reactivating. but no use
2) split scenario: 1 msg ==> BPM ==> 2 msgs
sender msg is going without any problem,but not receiving 2 rcvr msgs to the target directory. return code of IP is 0 and no other errors.
after installing PI on my system, for the first time i'm trying BPM scenarios. simple file to file working properly. BPE adapter has to be activated manually or i missed any initial configuration??? pls help me to resolve this.

I have used the following steps in BPM for this scenario xml file ==> BPM ==>xml file
1) data types: a)send_dt
                        b) rcv_dt
2) msg types a) send_mt
                        b)rcv_mt
3) interfaces   : send_ob_im
                          send_abs_im
                          rcv_abs_im
                          rcv_ib_im
in integration process,
start ==> receive ==> send ==> stop
so in general its like,
send CC ==> send OB I/F ==> send ABS I/F ==> rcv ABS I/F ==> rcv IB I/F ==> rcv CC
when i'm not using BPM, outbound queue SMQ1 is empty and messages are not stickking up there. but if i use BPM, SMQ1 is having entry saying 'SYSFAIL'. for the first time i'm doing the BPM scenarios.

BPM Error Permanent Error in BPE inbound processing

I require some urgent help on this BPM issue.
We are trying to integrate SRM PO being directly sent to Vendors using HTTP. We are getting an error saying Permanent Error in BPE inbound processing. The scenario works like this.
SRM system would sent PO using the SRM Standard interface PurchaseOrderRequest_Out. We need to transform the message into cXML format and send it to the vendors using HTTP adapter. Using the HTTP response we need to trigger an email to the business process team.
The SRM interface is under the software component SAP SRM Server 5.5 and our mapping is being done in a common software component and for the vendor interface we have another software component. We have created a relationship in the SLD by making the common SWC as dependent software component to SAP SRM Server and Vendor Software Component. So in the integration repository we are able to get the interfaces for the SAP SRM Server and Vendor Software Component under the common software component. The receive step for this BPM is a copy of the standard SRM interface PurchaseOrderRequest_Out(as the standard interface is an asynchronous interface) and we would require an abstract interface for the BPM. We have checked the semantics for the BPM and its fine. The related ID development is in place. When the message is being triggered, it gives us this above mentioned error. When we go to the QRFC monitor we are able to check the details.

Hi Indranil,
 You don't see you BPM....
First go to SXI_CACHE and check that your BPM is listed there and that the compilation has been completed succesfully.
Is this the first time the BPM is being used? If so check if has been configured. For example, go to RWB->Component Monitoring->BPE in <SYSID>
and check if any error is listed there.
In order to check what is going on in your BPM you can trace it:
 SXMB_MONI_BPE->Diagnosis Processes with Errors
 SXMB_MONI->Process, get your msg and click on 'PE'. You should see the workitems and see if there is any error.

I get an error in MONI" BPE adapter unknown message " .scenario is working fine in development system .And just now imported the configurations in quality system .
SXI_CACHE RETURN CODE IS 0
DELETED AND REIMPORTED THE PROCESS AGAIN
i have check transaction enabled for all teh steps in BPM in dev sysem ..Would it be a possible reason
and does it have any linkage to authorizations .. since I retransferred the change list to my name from some one else and activated but with no errros

Any specific requirement to do this?....if no then remove the checkbox entry....just the Start Process checkbox should be enabled for the first step (receive step)

Permanent error in BPE inbound processing

Hi all,
We have recently migrated are XI scenarios to a new server.
In one of the file to rfc scenario whenver a file is processed i get the error in smq2: Permanent error in BPE inbound processing.
The chances of BPM and mapping error are less as the BPM is working live in another server.
What could be the other problems.

Dear Vinithra,
Its highly improbable for this error to occur because of transports going wrong. There is one more case which i am sure is the cause why you are getting this error.
"This behavior is when we place the files in the respective folders both the files are picked up by the file adapter. Process instance is generated for BPM. First receive step is encountered and the file is received by it. But due to the wait step the second receive step is not open and hence the second file cannot be delivered to it. Unlike the first case, in this case as the buffering is deactivated the file is not buffered and hence the inbound processing of BPM fails for the second receive step."
Please check if something like this is happening.

Error-Receiver File Adapter using Variable substitution when file is empty

XI Experts,
We are on PI 7.0, SP14.
We are using variable subtitution to get the filename from source message. This works fine as long as we have data in the payload for filename element. But we have a scenario where we don't have to create file when certain condition does not exists in source message so in the message payload filename element will not exists in such condition and file will be empty and we should not create file.
Parameter in the communication channel for Handling empty message is "Ignore".
Does anyone knows how to handle this scneario. We don't want to default any file name in the message mapping if source file name element does not exists.
We are following getting error in the Adapter engine.
MP: Exception caught with cause com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error during variable substitution: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException: The following variable was not found in the message payload: file: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.configuration.DynamicConfigurationException: Error during variable substitution: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException: The following variable was not found in the message payload: file

You can implement this by writing the module to throw an exception or whatever method you want to execute.
If you don't want to receive an error message then module is suitable for you.

We have a scenario of FTP-->PI---> Webservice. While triggering the data in the FTP, it is failing in the PI with the below error
SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Server was unable to read request. ---> There is an error in XML document (1, 447). ---> Input string was not in a correct format.
Can you please help?

Hi Raja- It seems to be a data quality issue.
Check for the value @ 1447 position in the xml message that you are trying to send to web service..
may be a date filed/decimal value which is not in expected format.

Getting error in the adapter engine when sending a message

Hi,
I'm always getting this error in the adapter engine: Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.messaging.util.URI$MalformedURIException: no scheme
The comm channel ends up in error because of messages having the above error.
Could someone please help?

I have developed File to IDoc scenario. And getting the following error in "Call Adapter" pipeline step. I have mapped the control record values in IDoc like Sender Partner, no, port and same for receiver.
Have created:
In XI: RFC destination to connect to ECC (sm59)
Port for the above RFC sestination (idx1)
In ECC: New logical system for source file system (BD54)
Partner Profile for Source (we20)

I am trying to publish a file from SAP as web service using XI and SOAP Adapter.
I am using ABAP proxy to get the data into XI.
Designing and Configuration in XI has no problems because when i use File adapter the data is trasmitted to FTP server.
But when I used SOAP Reciever adapter I am getting following error in RWB
Delivery of the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 500 Error during parsing of SOAP header.
Scenario: SAP ABAP Proxy -> XI -> WebService. Asynchronous.
SOAP Receiver adaptor.
Target URL http://<host>:<port number >/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=SAPDC2653&Interface=urn:bzttest:00:hsa:test%5EOB_MI_BZT_TEST&QualityOfService=ExactlyOnce
Do not use SOAP Envelop is checked.

Say there's a bapi/rfc that you want to call on an R/3 backend (e.g. 4.6c). On it's own, the R/3 system cannot expose the rfc/bapi as a web service, but XI can. So in this case, the scenario would be:
WS client -> XI -> R/3
When XI "exposes" a web service, it is exposing a service for a receiving system (in the above example, the R/3 system). XI itself does not provide or contain the service implementation. When XI exposes a web service, it is always done via the sender soap adapter (i.e. if soap adapter is used). Receiver soap adapter is used to call or consume an actual web service from an external application.

Error in File Adapter: no alert generated

Hi folks,
I have a problem with monitoring our file adapters.
In one scenario we occasionally get the following error:
Fehler bei der Konvertierung des Dateiinhalts in XML an Position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 2 according to structure 'eTSFlatDetailStructure':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration / structure 'eTSFlatDetailStructure.': More elements in file csv structure than field names specified!
So I have build an alert category with me as recipient and an alert rule in Runtime Workbench with the following attributes:
- Rule active
- Alert-category as I have created above
- Bound to Message: no
- Error occures in Adapter Engine -> File Adapter
I have tested the Category... it works... but the rule does not fire any alert.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem?
