  • Error while calculating the net present value

    Dear experts,
Please help me in solving the following error.
I am trying to do project vaibility analysis through pre investment analysis in appropriation request, interm I'm trying to calculate the IRR for the project.
I have created the appropriation request and given all the data in that including the planed values for the project.
In Variants tab of appropriation request, preinv. analysis sub tab, i have clicked the button Calculate preinvestment analysis figures , ( I hvae not mentioned any values in that screen, its picking the plan cost from the planed values of the appropriation request) there I'm getting an error saying
Error while calculating the net present value
If I open the message it is as follows:
Error while calculating the net present value*
    *Message no. AO215*
    Diagnosis
An error occurred during calculation of the net present value.
The yield curve for determining the net present value is not completely maintained. Possible causes are:
    1. Evaluation type IM01 does not exist (table ATSYC).
    2. Yield curve types 9990 (bid) and 9991 (ask) have not been created (table JBD14) for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
    3. Reference interest rates have not been created for the yield curves (tables T056R and JBD15).
    4. Interest rates are not maintained for the complete planning time period for the reference interest rates.
    5. Under certain circumstances, the standard exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' may be inconsistent.
    Procedure
    Check your Customizing settings:
    1. SAP supplies the evaluation types.
Remember, SAP supplies the evaluation types in client 000. You have to copy them into your working clients. If you do not have them in your system, you can create them in Customizing for the Treasury component (Treasury Management -> Market Risk Management -> Evaluations -> Define Default Settings). Create evaluation type IM01 with bid yield curve type 9990 and ask yield curve type 9991.
    2. In Customizing for appropriation requests (under Planning), create a bid yield curve type 9990 and an ask yield curve type for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
    3. Create at least one reference interest rate for each yield curve.
    4. Maintain the reference rates, starting at the minimum fron the point at which you you have planned costs or revenue.
    5. Check Customizing of the exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' in the IMG under Global Settings -> Currencies.
I have checked all the procedures of the said customization and the values are similar to that of the error message, but still I'm unable to proceed further.
I have goe through the note 160375, but did not succeed on this issue.
Can any one help me out in solving the above error and also can any one explain me the process in SAP to calculate IRR?
Is there any more customization missing or whats wrong going in that process?
    Please help me out...
    Thanks in advance..

  • Error While Running the Interest Calculation in tcode FINT

    Dear All,
I have configured Item Interest Calculaiton for SPL GL Transactions for Customers like "Advances to Customer" , Here once certain period is exceeded for receiving goods from customers interest to be received from customers .. pls notice that here we routed customers as vendors also.
Intially i configure for Interest Payment ..later i changed configuration settings for interest receipt ..mean wihile i had to change GL accounts for interest receipt and others too.
Now the problem is System is calculating itnerest perfectly ..but along with that it is givign the following error in another screen.
    pls see the error msg
"Account symbol 0002 cannot be replaced (modif. + )
    Message no. F8107
    Diagnosis
The account symbol 0002 could not be replaced by a G/L account.
During replacement of the account symbol, a step by step masking of the modification keys is carried out with unsuccessful attempts, providing this is possible. The values +  specified here correspond to those of the last read attempt.
    Procedure
Check whether a replacement rule is specified for masked modification keys ("+")."
pls guide me in this regard,
    Shashi Kanth Reddy

    Hi,
Usually the reason for the error message is that for your
Chart of Accounts there is no Account Symbol 0002 maintained.
If you compare with Chart of Accounts "INT", you will see the entry
    missing.
Please maintain it accordingly by transaction OBV1 and test again.
You have to create the account symbol 0002 in your chart of accounts.
If you need that the posting is done to the customer account, then you
should create an entry as follows:
    Acct symbol     Currency            G/L account
    0002                    +                         +
When you call transaction OBV1 and select Accounts button,
you will see that, for each account symbol, there must be a G/L account
    associated with that.

  • Incorrect Foreign Currency Calculation

    GoodDay,
Can anyone provide some guidence on the cause of the follwoign problem.
    Local Currency (LC) - TTD
    Foreign Currency (FC) USD
Money will been taken out of our CItibank Acount creating a credit to the account 10600 Citi NY USD REAL.  On the day the acocunt is credited in Foreign Currency the equivalent in Local Currency  is calucated based on the rate entered on that day in the rate table.
When the money is  re-entered into the account, in Foreign Currency on another day, the local currency equivalent is  also calcualated based on the rate entered on that day from the rate table.
The differerence due to the exchange rate is stored in our 50140 Gain on Forex Transaction G/L Account.
The problem is the calcualtion from the foreign to local currency when the money has returned to the account is incorrect even though the rate is correct in the rate table.
The exchange rate the day the money came back into the account is 6.34585. However the system appears to have calculated it 63.5485
Therefore, Foreign Currency Amount  US 85,270,000.00 equates to  Local Currency TT 5,411,106,295.00
I am of the belief it is a data issue as logically the system cannot choose which calculation to do correclty and which one not to.
    Thanks
    Niketa

    Hi,
currency conversion always happens based on a exchange rate given for a conversion factor (eg 1 unit 'from' currency is converted to 1 unit 'to' currency).
Check this conversion factors in t-code OBBS for the exchange rate type + rate you have entered.
Maybe conversion factor is maintained like TTD to USD is 1:1 whereas USD to TTD is 1:10.
    Best regards, Christian

  • Error when using automatic clearing (F.13)with foreign currency valuation.

    Hello all
below is our problem, please suggest us a solution
We are experiencing a problem when running the automatic clearing in SAP. Somehow, the system seems to clear (with no reason) open items created with the revaluation of foreign currency.
Let's say that we run the valuation of open items in foreign currency for December 31, and we run the program to post the reverse entry as of  January 1 of the next year. As a result of this valuation, the system calculates a loss of 10 euros. Therefore, it posts a document with a debit entry of 10 into the Loss account, and a credit of 10 in to account where the valuation was carried out. This document has a posting date of December 31. The batch program also creates the reversing entry, this time a credit entry into the Loss account, and a debit into the original account.
If now, we try to run the automatic clearing (F,13) on December 31 for those accounts, the system will create (automatically) a document on December 31, similar to the reversing entry that the valuation created, clearing at the same time, the first document that the valuation originally created.
The final result then is that the valuation makes a posting, and we end up having two reversing entries. Does it make sense?
In our scenario in the system P70, for MX10, we have a foreign currency valuation run on December 31st, which posted the document numbers:
    1)  5100004579/2008, for a total of  0 euros, and 240,483.17 MXN. Credit to account 11081108 Finavigate cash receipt bank collect.CMG MXN.Debit to account 18601000 Losses f.foreign curr.valuation on financial trans
    2) In the same batch, the system also books a reversing entry (doc 5100000042/2009) with posting date 01.01.2009 with exactly the same opposite entries as in the previous document.
    3) After this, we run the automatic clearing with posting date 31.12.2008, and now, the system creates automatically the document 5000003236/2008, which clear the original document, 5100004579.
The final result, as you can see, it's out of balance, there is an additional document that we need to reverse.
    Thanks in advance
    sujatha

To my knowledge you get do two things:
    1. In F.13 transaction don't include both the GL accounts where the Dr. and Cr. posting from the valuation run have taken place. With this the system won't find the matching entry.
    2. If you want to use all the GL accounts in F.13, then check the clearing procedure configuration and make suitable changes.
With the info provided, this is the only thing I can suggest.
    Regards,
    ~Vishal.

  • Foreign Currency Valuation - GL at the time of clearing of open items

    Hi experts,
We valuate the open items (Balance sheet items) in Company Code Currency without checking the reversal option.
At the time of clearing of these open items, the GL used for reversal of the valuation difference is been different.
    GL mapped in OBA1:
    Exch.rate diff realized
    Loss/Gain: 716000
    Valuation: Loss/Gain - 716001
    Bal.Adj 1: 101699
    Translation:
    Loss/Gain: 716000
    Bal.sheet adj -Loss/Gain: 716001
At the time of clearing of open items:
The entry which is getting passed for the reversal of the valuation difference is some time posted to GL: 101699 and sometime to GL 716000. The off-setting GL been Clearing GL(which is been valuated).
Could someone kindly through some light as to why the system behaving in such a way. We expect the GL at the time of reversal to be 101699.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Pradeep,
The principle of foreign currency revaluation works as follows for the open items like AR, AP and Bank Balances:
At the period end the system revaluates the open items (or balances, as the case may be) with the period end exchange rate and thus posts the difference between the original exchange rate (at the time the open item was created) and the period end rate. This could be loss or gain due to revaluation. One side of the entry is P&L (7...account) and the other side is the balance sheet (the balance sheet account typically comes from AR, AP or Bank/Cash range).
This loss or gain is not realized since at the period end the open item is still out there. When you clear the open item, the loss or gain due to the latest exchange rate is realized immediately and is posted to realized loss or gain, with an offset to the original balance sheet account.
    I hope the above helps.

  • F-32 - clearing customer items in foreign currency

    Hello gurus,
please, where in SPRO can I set the possibity of clearing customer items in foreign currency in F-32 ?
Presently all items are converted to local currency and it's not possible to switch into foreign currency.
Vendor open items we can clear in foreign currency in F-44, but customer open items not.
    Thank you,
    Ondrej

What error you are getting in F-32 while clearing the customer in foreign currency?
Please check whether in FS00 for that customer reconciliation account, you have selected the check box "Balance in local currency". If yes, then that will not allow you to clear in foreign currency.

  • Electronic bank statement in Foreign Currency

    Hi,
We have set up the system so as to create a payment order when automatic payment program is run. Now, we have a scenario, where house bank is in local currency - SEK. This is used to pay the invoices in foreign currencies USD, DKK etc using automatic payment program. The electronic bank statement  we receive from the bank has transactions in different currencies. We convert this  to multicash format using DME engine, mapping the amounts in local currency to the statement and item file.
When  try to clear the invocies by importing this multicash statement, following error message is generated.
Message no. F5794 i.e. XXX  is not a payment order for currency XXX. Correction required.
Any ponters to solve the issue.
Appreciate the help in this regard!
    Thanks
    /Vartika

    Hi Narasimhulu,
    Thanks for your reply.
The thing is, payment orders are in a foreign currencies - USD , EUR etc. The clearing account is in local currency SEK. The bank statement has amounts both in order currency as well as local currency for every order. But when we are clearing using multicash, we are trying to pass the amounts in local currencies for each order. This is because,  as far as i understand, it is the currency in multicash statement file that is used for clearing . And there can be only one record in  multicash statement file. So we have to use the local currency for clearing.
    EBS:
    1  Payment order 1 - 1000 USD = 7000 SEK
    2  Payment order 2 -2000 EUR = 18000 SEK
    Multicah Statement File :
    25000 SEK
    Multicash Item File :
    Payment order 1 -   7000 SEK
    Payment order 2 -  18000 SEK
Or is there any other way of handling it ?
    Many thanks again!

  • Paying Foreign Currency Invoice with Functional Currency

    Hi,
Can anyone advise if I am able to pay a foreign currency invoice
using functional currency in AP? Eg. if my functional currency
is USD and invoice is in GBP, how can I pay in USD against the
GBP invoice? Thank you and God bless you.

Most versions of Oracle Financial system, allows the payment of
Foreign Currency invoices in functional currency. If you tried
to pay the Foreign Currency invoices in functional currency, and
if you got error it could be due to of different reasons.
One very common reason, is the lack of (refer currency
conversion rate set up if you are not familiar) of a conversion
rate in the date range of the invoice.

  • Issue with Posting Date in F.05 - Foreign Currency Revaluation

    Hi All,
We have a problem with the US-GAAP Foreign currency revaluation run which we're doing every month.
Although the posting date is entered correctly (for this month as 30.09.2011), the postings that are created have the posting date of 31.07.2011. But the reversal date is right (01.10.2011).
Could you please explain why wrong date is appearing.
    Thanks IN Advance
    Regards,
    Payal Saxena

    Hi,
Have you scheduled any batch job to carry out the Foreign Currency Valuation? If yes, then check the variant which has been created for the program. There the posting date might have been entered as 31.07.2011. Dynamic date calculation must be maintained for the posting date.
    Thanks,

  • Foreign currency run

    Hi All,
We have a situation where in we would like to valuate all documents on an account irrespective of document currency.
We have 3 currencies maintained in the system -- doc currency, company code currency and global currency.
Company code currency is CAD and global currency is USD.
The line items on the GL account receives postings both in CAD and USD as the document currency.
Say, the account has just 2 postings as given below:
Posting 1: 100 CAD (doc curr), 100 CAD (comp curr) and 95 USD (global curr)
Posting 2: 200 USD (doc curr), 210 CAD (comp curr) and 200 USD (global curr)
We want the F.05 run to valuate 310 CAD (total of comp curr) and 295 USD (total of global curr)
    Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Venkat

    Hello Venkat,
It is possible to do foreign currency valution as you expected if you are using ECC 5 or 6.
The year-end closing operations can be implemented for different legislative accounting standards, such as US GAAP or the German Commercial Code, which are based on different valuation approaches.
The different valuation approach is calculated and posted in the following programs:
    Foreign currency valuation (SAPF100, RFSBEW00)
The programs can be run using an alternative valuation area. When the valuation of open items is made which affects the balance sheet, the differences are stored in a table (BSBW).
The additional valuation area must be created in Customizing for Financial Accounting. To do so, select the activity Define valuation areas in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for General Ledger Accounting.
You must then define the account determination for the alternative valuation areas in Customizing. To do so, define the account numbers for the expense or income from the valuation in the system. You do this under the activity Prepare automatic postings for foreign currency valuation in the IMG for General Ledger Accounting.
    Hope this will help you.
    Regards
    Ravi

  • Clearing foreign currency payments against local currency bank account

    Hi all
We have foreign currency invoices (eg in USD, EUR) and would like to pay these from a AUD domestic bank account. Is this common practice or does the client need to enter such invoices in their external bank specific terminal to process such payments if they have a domestic currency bank account.
How does the Electronic bank Statement (which is in AUD) clear these foreign currency invoices (EFT clearing account or suspense account). I presume we would have to post to a suspense account clearing and then do a manual post with clearing after loading the bank statement.  However, the amounts do not balance to zero as i cannot clear items off as they are in different document currencies as noted below.
    INVOICE
cr vendor  100USD   200AUD - cleared by payment program
    dr expense 100USD   200AUD
    PAYMENT PROGRAM
    cr Sus clg 100USD   210AUD
dr vendor  100USD   200AUD - Cleared by payment program
    dr FX g/l    0USD    10AUD
    ELECT. BANK STATEMENT
    dr Sus clg 205AUD
    cr Cash    205AUD
What would be the standard approach for such postings from an SAP bank accounting functionality point of view.
Is there a better way of design the above payment process.

    Hi,
    this is a hard task.
You have to play with the GL account master data. See documentation for field "Only balances in local crcy". It is quite good described for the clearing in foreign currencies.
Also I have some doubts that there were settings in FI for foreign currencies clearing, but I have never customize it.
Hope I helped you (if so... points reward would be highly appreciated )
    Regards,
    Alex
