Check weather Your able to Ping Data warehouse, might be your ETL is not able to ping DW.

I am developing wizard through simple database connection application and save it and try run it run first time ok and I also inserted 2 record in it. But next day I strat OJD 3.1.1.2 and try to insert record in same project I found bellow error.

Error in DAC 7.9.4 while building the execution plan

I'm getting Java exception EXCEPTION CLASS::: java.lang.NullPointerException while building the execution plan. The parameters are properly generated.
Earlier we used to get the error - No physical database mapping for the logical source was found for :DBConnection_OLAP as used in QUERY_INDEX_CREATION(DBConnection_OLAP->DBConnection_OLAP)
EXCEPTION CLASS::: com.siebel.analytics.etl.execution.NoSuchDatabaseException
We resolved this issue by using the in built connection parameters i.e. DBConnection_OLAP. This connection parameter has to be used because the execution plan cannot be built without OLAP connection.
We are not using 7.9.4 OLAP data model since we have highly customized 7.8.3 OLAP model. We have imported 7.8.3 tables in DAC.
We have created all the tasks with syncronzation method, created the task group and subject area. We are using in built DBConnection_OLAP and DBConnection_OLTP parameters and pointed them to relevant databases.
system set up -
OBI DAC server - windows server
Informatica server and repository sever 7.1.4 - installed on local machine and
provied PATH variables.
IS this problem regarding the different versions i.e. we are using OBI DAC 7.9.4 and underlying data model is 7.8.3?

I have created a command task in workflow at Informatica that will execute a script in Unix to purge chache at OBIEE.But I want that workflow to be added as a task in DAC at already existing Plan and should be run at the last one whenever the Incremental load happens.

Error in DAC ETL Full Load (Supply Chain Inventory Transactions)

My Environment is like this,
Syatems: windows 2003 server 32 bit
DAC: 10.1.3.4.1 with Patch 10052370
Informatica : Power Center 8.6.1 Hot Fix 11
OBIA: 7.9.6.2
OBIEE: 10.1.3.4.1
I Created a plan with one Subject area Supply Chain Inventory Transactions. while running i am getting an error (out of 241 tasks 22 got failed). Nothing got Failed in Informatica. TASK_Group_Load_PositionHierarchy got failed. when i go through the log the error is like this.

I added one more temp tablespace like temp3, it resolves my problem, i am getting sucesses now. temp tablespace is using while exicuting large queries like aggrications.

ERROR at DAC Execution Step

I am running HR-R11.5.10 - FLexfield Execution Plan. When I run this execution plan, I get this error

Disconnecting from Integration ServiceNote:
1. I use 64 bit Oracle database but I use 32 bit client
2. my LD_LIBRARY_PATH is properly set to clients library
3. My Informatica Services and Dac services are installed in RHEL5 64 bit but clients in Windows 2003.
4. The admin console points to LkpFiles and SrcFiles available in RHEL machine (where all servers are present)
if you notice above, the error points to my Windows machine.... What could be the reason for this? Thank you very much in advance

I got the solution to this problem.
We have to make sure that DAC Console at Client is properly pointing to Parameter Files
i.e. go to DAC Console > Setup > Dac system properties > "InformaticaParameterFileLocation"
the it should be pointing to /Informatica/server/infa_shared/SrcFiles
Do not forget the restart the DAC server.

Hi
The Informatica error you are getting is defined as:
PCSF_46009 Invalid type <object type> encountered. Failed to create an object instance.
Same as PCSF_46002.
and that error is:
PCSF_46002 Failed to communicate with the server at <server address>.
Cause:The request exceeded the timeout period due to an invalid connection or domain not running.
Is the repository service up and running?
So DAC is unable to connect to the informatica server. I would check you connection data in particular the hostname. Have you specified this as a fully qualified host? Can you ping this from the where you are running the DAC client from? Can you ping it from where the DAC server is installed?
Another thing to check is the server port - default is 6001. Can you access the Informatica Admin Console on that port? (http://server_name:6001/adminconsole)

I have created a sql file in DAC server /app/dac/CustomSQLs/ ,just to fire an update sql in database
In DAC task tab i have created a task with the following:
Command for incremental load :/app/dac/CustomSQLs/DBNameBeforeLoad.sql

target source:DBCONNECTION_OLAP
Execution type:SQL FILE
Task phase:GENERAL
I created subject area and assembled ,then created a Execution plan.
When i try to execute this EP ,it shows the following error in DAC log:

Does my above configuration is correct ..?

verify the following settings:
1. mapping of ECC plant and storage location and logical system number with the appropriate availability group code since this links the stock types in EWM to ECC org elements (SPRO -> EWM -> Interfaces -> ERP Integration -> Goods movement)
2. ensure the availability group configuration is correct (SPRO -> EWM -> GR Process -> Configure availability group for putaway) - check all applicable nodes in this configuration since the availability group code is assigned in the pertinent storage types

DAC server start-up error and Can't authenticate user

HI,
we have installed DAC server in Linux machine and client on windows. By using DAC client we restored the backup of DAC repository, DAC client was working fine still restoration and after restoring it’s not logging in. It throws error like "Can't authenticate user"
while starting DAC services in Unix server it throws an error like
ANOMALY INFO An exception occurred. Shutting down server...

Note: since DAC client is not separately available for windows we have installed dac server also and while installing and after installing we never configured to connect to the dac server which is in Linux, we have configured only DB.
we have successfully installed OBIEE, Informatica, and DAC version is 10.1.3.4.1.
How to start the DAC services?
How to configure dac client to connect to DAC server and how to solve this "Can't authenticate user" issue?
Pls help in this regard.

Then do select * from W_ETL_USER -- here you will see 2 Administrator id's listed
now run the command Delete From W_ETL_USER
Now login to dac client with Administrator and pwd which you have set earlier.

Changing the Owner from Peoplesoft8.8 to Peoplesoft 9.0 causes Data errors

for a particular task in DAC, i changed a parameter in Parameter sub-tab of Tasks Tab in the Design view. the Default one was Dept_Security which i changed to Division_Tree. the Owner for Dept_security was Peoplesoft 8.8 in the Parameter sub-tab of the tasks tab (SDE_PSFT_Stage_InternalOrganizationDimension_DepartmentHierarchy_GetDept), when i changed this Parameter to Division_tree, the Owner was changed to the custom container we created out of exisitng delivered container.
i am not able to predict if this causing the problem, whats happening is the ETL Process loads multiple Department and Division related dimensions and facts and its is doing that by incrementing the data by 1 each time. for example: the headcounts are always one at any point of time selected. but after changing this parameter i guess, the ETL Process is triggered five times and so facts and related dimensions are loaded five times in Data warehouse.
what possible changes or errors in DAC or Informatica could cause this issue. i never heard this type of issue on web. this is not data issue in Source i guess.

Bug report: 3.2; DAC; GridControl; Navigation - Invalid reaction to mouse drag

Hi,
This is a bug report, I think.
I have a one-column GridControl with mandatory column. Normally, DAC framework prohibits from navigation out of empty field and emits one of those DAC-1002 or DAC-603 errors. The only exception I noticed was a double-click on another row. In this case navigation allowed but an error is still produced.
Today I was playing with this GridControl and discovered that I can drag the yellow frame across rows. And here comes a bug - GridControl doesn't change the current row on InfoBus according to current selection marked by yellow frame.
In my case it brings the following problem: if the cursor is placed on the new empty row, user drags the cursor to another row and then tries to use any other navigation means except dragging, he gets a navigation error. DAC framework still thinks that the current row is the empty one and produces an error telling that the attribute cannot be empty.
Dev Team, any comments?

Hmm... Nobody answers. I'll try another variation of the same question.
DAC framework implicitly validates attributes on the base of Mandatory constraint in the Entity Object definition. Is it possible to set the level of this validation? For example, I want to conduct validation only when user navigates out of the row or the whole rowset, but not when he just leaves a field.

DAC task failure: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_Full

The Incremental DAC load failed yesterday night for two workflows:
SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate
SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_Full
The workflows belong to the Out-Of-Box Container SIL_Vert.
The workflows populate zero records on other regular days, but this is for the first time it resulted in an error during DAC load.
The DAC log doesn't show any detectable error message with the root cause information. But since there were many dependent tasks running on top of it, they all got stopped and henceforth resulting in the DAC failure.

After the first fail of the DAC load due, I marked the task as completed and restarted the Execution Plan again; the load failed again due to the second workflow mentioned above. I repeated the same steps and this time, it ran till the end to complete the load process.
The Informatica Log file for the particular workflow shows:
Message: Use override value [DATAWAREHOUSE.DATAWAREHOUSE.SIL_Vert.SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate.log] for session parameter:[$PMSessionLogFile].
Please suggest us if we can bypass the above mentioned tasks and we can exclude the same from our current Execution Profiles. If the dependencies on these tasks create issues, how do we modulate the same for successful DAC loads going forward. Also please specify the significance of these particular workflows.

This is database dependent command
depending on conncetion type @DAC_SOURCE_DBTYPE
which DAC reads when you define Source database type in Physical datasources,
By default it will invoke the informatica workflkow SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_ORCL
however if your
source is DB2 it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_DB2
source is mSSQL it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_MSSQL
source is Teradata it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_TD

I would like to customize the Business component errors messages in order for it to be more explicite
For example, I would like to translate the following error message:
DAC-305: DbAccess commitTransaction failed. Session: modelSessionInfo
JBO-26041: Failed to post data to database during "Delete": SQL Statement " DELETE FROM HW_MODEL HwModel WHERE MODEL_ID=:1".
ORA-02292: integrity constraint (ISM.CT_MODEL_FK) violated - child record found
into a more comprehensive message, i.e. :
You must delete all dependent items before this model
can I cature the business component errors messages and create a dictionary

I've been looking for something like this too.
Personally, I think the answer above is ridiculous. Why doesn't JDeveloper allow you to put in an error message along with the validation that you create? Instead you get this ugly, ugly message along the lines of:
"JBO-27011: Attribute set with value 6 for OffsetCode in TaxCodeLkp failed"
Yeesh, does it get any uglier than that? Come on guys, give us a string we can specify when creating the validation that you store in the XML and pull out and display. Use this ugly message when there is nothing specified.
Can anyone from Oracle explain why we have to jump through hoops to do something so basic to development of Business Applications? How did you miss this?
