Error in database polling using OSB

Hi,
I am polling the database. After polling I am calling a split join which inturn has a couple of SOA service calls. Everything was working fine until recently I observed that polling stops after a couple of attempts and i get errors of kind:

Now, the error is repeated only inside the error the 'event' gets changed sometimes but except that everything is same. As a result database isn't getting polled.
It works after after deleting and redeploying the code on the server but after 3-4 runs the same issue.
Anyone has any idea about it,please help.

This is a Bug related to updating global vars in different branches of a split join catch block.
Have a look into BugID:13627312 in Metalink and request the patch.

By the way, the code begun to fails suddendly, and I don't know what happened....
All the databases are 9.2.0.5

I've restarted the source database and the PL/SQl with sintax error now works fine....Still I need some tips to understand what's going on.....

my guess is that you can create the database link, which simply points to the remote instance. however, the problem is on the remote instance.
As the error message suggest, make sure that the listener is up and running on the remote machine. The link can be created, but if there is no listener on the other side, you will not get any response.

Needs suggestion the best way database insertion using OSB

Hi all, again and again I need your suggestion. Which is the best way for writing data to database using OSB in few tables as fastest as possible (speed consideration)?, should I make lots DB schema for supporting JCA adapter and transform each message and writing to database? OR should I call java callout then using EJB for writing to database?.

We had the similar scenario in our project and this is my take on this.
Its better to use a JCA DBAdapter to execute/invoke a stored procedure and then have the PL/SQL script for insertion into the Stored Procedure.
As the OSB DBAdapter configuration is very tightly coupled to the DB structure any changes to the column types of the table will mean a regeneration of the adapter WSDL.
In general even for other DB operations like select, delete, update... its is a good idea to use the stored procedure in conjunction with the DBAdapter to decouple the link to DB to some extent.

Connection Reset Error with Database Polling

Hi,
I am using DB adapter for polling records from the database. After polling I am doing physical delete for the records that have been polled. The polled record has a column for scheduledDateTime which is used to do scheduling for the process, using a Wait Activity.
Everything works fine in development environment but shows different behaviour in testing environment.
The records have been polled and is waiting at wait activity for time expiry. But even after time expires, the process is still in a waiting stage. When I checked logs for the process, this was the error given.

I thought the error is due to database connection, but as per DB team, the database is up and this error happens for some records and some records are successfully executed.
I am using Oracle SOA 10.1.3.4.0 and Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4

Nevermind, I found the problem. My school is incapable of finishing loading any sites through SSL, ever (without a proxy), and Twitter decided to lock my account to SSL without telling me. I just had to set FoxyProxy to use the proxy for https://twitter.com and it was fixed.
I suppose other programs could still load Twitter because they didn't have the cookies to stay in my account, which means they weren't redirected to https.

Database Polling - Using Update a Sequence File - Not working

Hi All,
We need to use the Database Adapter Polling feature to poll a table for inserts and updates. In the database configuration page of "After Read" , we have used "Update a Sequencing File".
But the process is not being triggered. Any one has successfully tried this option.
Do we need to do any additional configurations ?

If this is your first time working with the Property Loader I recommend the following steps:
- Save the Sequence File and go to Tools-> Import/Export Properties…
- Set the Data Location to be a File (You can change it later if you need to use a Database).
- Enter the file path.
- Select a File Format.
- Go to the Properties Tab and from the Available properties list (tree) select your global variable. The global variable should appear in the selected properties list.
- Click the Export Button.
- If you go back to the Source Destination File and click on View File you will notice that the file you selected was generated and that it has a special format.
You will identify the name of your variable under <File Globals> and the variable value under ‘Variable Value’.
Change the variable value to whatever value you want and save the file.
- Now, if you click the Import Button, the tool will get the value from the source file and set the edit-time copy of the sequence global variable to the value you entered in the file.
- Click the Done button and go and check the value of the sequence global variable. The value should be the value you entered in the file.

You may require Block level recovery for the complained DB Files. Please refer this useful document " [Early Detection and Correction of Data Block Corruptions Using RMAN |http://www.ioug.org/client_files/members/select_pdf/04q4/RMAN.pdf]" and share the same with your Oracle DBA.
You can execute the following commands to get information about corrupted block(s), if its there.

"Execuite Custom SQL" in DB adapter and you'l get it.
But in this case you'll have to implement your own polling strategy (if you need one).
If you want to use one of the predefined polling strategy you should use "Poll for New or Changed records" and import all the tables you use and connect them in wizard.

Solution: Increase the max permgen space -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
There can be a leak in the permgen objects. If tuning parameters do not resolve the issue, we need to use the memory leak detector tools and find out which instances in the permgen space are not getting cleared.

I have checked in <sid>adm user since we have looged in the same user Id.
There was no entrie for the SAPTRACE in environmental variable.
I have inserted and given the requried path"F:\oracle\MRP\saptrace".
Thankyou....hope in my next restart of the server it will work....

I have Lync 2013 and 2010 , still i didn't finish my migration completely from 2010 to 2013 .this is coexistence environment that contains both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013 .
There was no error's in my lync 2013 front end and back end server's and every thing was fine, yesterday I installed windows updated AND CU for my lync 2013 front end and backend server's .
later on after restarting both the front end and the back end server's i start having hundred's of these error's related to "LS Call Park Service".
so any advice for these issue ? and what is the effect for these error .
below is the error I got .

Manufacturing database in use or database in use error

Hi,
B1 was stable for a couple of weeks but Friday I received an email from our Accountant (Larrry) who wanted to run a report out of MRP/Materials Management. The error indicated “Manufacturing Database in Use”. I restarted the server on Saturday and the issue resolved.
Today our Supply Chain Manager crashed out of the SAP three times while trying to run an inventory transaction. The error is simply “data in use”.
In event viewer on the server I see a "Lockserver" and "MAINU1" error (see screen shots).
Any idea why we are seeing the "database in use" messages?

The above error indicated that, some of the operation is running in server.
It will be better to check with server administrator.

Error encountered while polling the resource for the service endpoint

Hello everyone
I'm a newbie on OSB world. Yesterday, I've tried to test OSB with FTP transport and got some problems.
As you see in the title, I've search this forum to get a solution already, but I couldn't find anything. So that I create a new thread.
I created a new OSB project, create a new Proxy service to connect to my FTP server:
- service type: messaging service
- request message type: Text, response message type: None
- FTP transport: external user (I used a Service account), Post read action: archive, transfer mode: ascii, some directories needed were created in /tmp directory
- Message flow: Start node -> pipeline pairs
in request pipeline of pipeline pairs node: i created a new stage: Assign action -> Log (to get file contents, error severity) -> Assign -> Log (get file name)
The expected results are: file file content and file name (display in osb console) after I submit a text file to ftp server (using test console or ftp client)
But, some error occur continuously after I submit a text file (I can get the file content because error raise and log catch it). The error message is show below:

Thank atheek1, I remember that I didnt do any manual configuration on my domain :). I use that domain for testing so that I will create a new domain for comparison.

Extracting MIME attachment from email using OSB proxy service - email transport

The polling is working fine. I've encoded the attachment variable to Base64 using a java callout.$attachments/ctx:attachment/ctx:body/ctx:binary-content has been passed as the byte[] input to the java method and the response is captured in $encodedAttachment. I've created a SaveFile BS(file type) with Request Message Type = Binary and Response Message Type = None. I've tried replacing the node ./ctx:binary-content in body variable with encodedAttachment in the request action of the Publish action to call the BS. One file is getting created with contents of the entire email, MIME headers and boundary parts along with the base64 encoded attachments.

If I put a delete action in the request to Publish action for SaveFile BS to delete the $attachments, the created file contains only the email body part and the attachment boundary part is missing.
I've uploaded the OSB log with full trace enabled.
How can I pass the encodedAttachment to the BS for saving the files?
Would iterating through the $aatachment/ctx:attachment give me the individual attachments for saving and processing, as there are separate binary-content refs in them?
Any help to achieve my requirement is highly appreciated.

The thing is, the link you have provided talks more from changing the business Service configurations i.e. the type of the service etc, but the concern is, that the Business Service is already Implemented and hence the change would not be an appropriate option for me.

DB adapter polling in OSB

1. In a clustered environemnt, we need to use "Distributed polling" in DB adapter to make sure the multiple cluster instances are not polling for the database at the sametime. If "Distributed polling" can achieve that, what is the need to have singleton property set for the DB adapter in the composite.xml
2. For achieving DB adapter polling in osb, we need to create the adapter in bpel and then export them to osb project. In such OSB project, where do we set the singleton property ?

I assume active-passive cluster setup means,
there will be a cluster with only one osb or bpel managed server (active cluster)
There wil be another cluster with only one osb or bpel managed server (passive cluster).
so when there is some data inserted into the database, there will be only one managed server (available on active cluster) will be available to poll for the recored. Passive man server does not poll for this record. I assume this is the default behaviour. If such is the case, then what is the use of setting this singleton property ?
