  • Error While Linking Formula field for Repetetive Area Header In PLD

    Hi All,
I am having a problem in pld..Let me explain...!!!!
I have a drop down field called Billing Type....My requirement is if the billing type in Time based then it should become number of Hours,if my billing type is Trip based then my Quantity column should become no of trips .I got the logic but when i am linking the formula field with the header in the repetetive area it is not working, but when i paste it some where else it is working,Please tell me any solution for this...!!!my version is 8.81 PL20
    Regards
    Cherry

    Hi Cherry,
Any formula fields you use in your logic must be on the same area as the linked fields. In your case - as I understand you are trying to link row level fields to a formula based on a header level UDF. What you need to do is to move all your hidden fields used in the formula to the Repetitive Area - don't worry if the field used is actually header level, it still should be fine.
I would advise not to hide any fields used in a formula until you are 100% sure it's working - as you can then check if all of them show the results you expect. For instance in this case you could see that the header UDF displayed in the Repetitive Area is repeated in every line and so any formulas based on this field will work well.
    I hope this helps.

    Nat

  • CR 2011 - calculated member in cross tab

    Hello,
I have created a cross tab in my report and added a calculated member. I have created a formula for all my rows because by default the value of the calculated member was "0". Now I wanted to add a new row to my report. The value in the calculated member now is not "0" but empty. How can I access the formula workshop now?
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks and regards,

if you right click on the cross-tab > go to Advanced Calculations > Calculated Member > click on the one that you want to edit and press the Edit Value Formula button

  • Error While Executing Report - "Field symbol has not yet been assigned."

    Dear All,
I am using Cube 0PP_C01 which filled with data Source 2LIS_04_P_MATNR.
Based on this Cube I had developed a report.
0MRP_CONTRL characteristic filled using 0MATERIAL master data.
Authorization in this report is based on Characteristic 0MRP_CONTRL & 0PLANT.
While running report User gets error u201CField symbol has not yet been assignedu201D & Analyzer just quit.
Also getting dump in tcode ST22.
This problem occurs when limited authorization of 0MRP_CONTRL & 0PLANT assigned to user & if I provide full authorization 0BI_ALL then report runs fine.
When I will remove 0MATERIAL characteristic from report then Report runs fine & at a time when I put 0MATERIAL in the report its gives error.
Please suggest me what to do as I can not give user 0BI_ALL right in RSECADMIN.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Divyesh Khambhati.

    Hello Shashank,
    Thanks for your reply.
No material is not checked for authorization relevant.
Is it required to make 0MATERIAL to be checked as Authorization relevant ??
I had make 0MATERIAL authorization relevant & assign all material Authorization to User but still error coming..
I do not have any idea regarding this colon authorization, if possible can you explaine me how I can use this colon authorization ?

  • Cross-tab Report field representation

I need to display a field (Abandon Rate) in my cross-tab report - Abandon Rate is not a field in the database.  The field is a result of a formula:
    100*(AbnCalls/InCalls)
How do I go about doing this?  I've tried to type the formula into the Display String but get an error "The Formula result must be a string".

The only way Display String will work here is if the two variables in your formula are Global variables.  In that case, just add CStr to your formula to turn it into a string:
    CStr(100*(AbnCalls/InCalls), "0.00")
If the two variables are from the database, create a formula field and use that in the cross tab.

  • Crystal Reports Cross-Tab Report not showing all available fields

I am running CR2008 against MS SQL Express.  I have several tables with fields and data in them and can create standard reports to show all the data in all the fields.  However, when I try to create a cross-tab report, only some of the fields appear for me to choose from.
I created a standard report with all the fields I needed in my cross-tab report and ran a preview.  Everything was there.  I then added a cross-tab object, selected the tables only to find that fields that are in the main report are not showing up for selection in the cross-tab.

UPDATE:  I exported the entire database from MS SQLExpress to MS Access and I am having the same issues, so it does not appear to be a problem with the database engine and, since the standard tabular reports show the fields, I am at a loss as to why they don't show up in the cross-tab or the Parameter fields.
I am creating the cross-tab through the Cross-Tab wizard.  Is there maybe a bug in that?  Is there a way to create it otherwise?

  • Error Executing Formula

I am getting the following error while trying to copy data from Workforce Planning database to Expense Planning database:
Error executing formula for [Other FTE - SG&A]: status code [1013009] in function [@_XREF]
The member that "Other FTE - SG&A" is trying to XREF is a stored member so I wouldn't think that it woul max out the memory reading the other member.
The XREF formula for the member is:
              @xref(_WFCube_,"Emp Other FTE - SGA","JobGrade","Employee_Dimension",@name(@currmbr("Period")),@name(@currmbr(HSP_Rates)),@name(@currmbr("Currency")),@name(@currmbr("Year")),@name(@currmbr("Location")),@name(@currmbr("Version")),@name(@currmbr("Areas")));
    Database Cache settings are:
    Index Cache = 150000
    Data cache = 25000
Currently running Planning 9.3.1 on 32-bit windows environment.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you really need to use these?
    name(@currmbr("Period")),@name(@currmbr(HSP_Rates)),@name(@currmbr("Currency")),@name(@currmbr("Year")),@name(@currmbr("Location")),@name(@currmbr("Version")),@name(@currmbr("Areas))
I think you can delete those and try again.
if the dimension or member names exists in both source and target, xref will be able to recognize both,
so that you don't really need to define it. Simply define the intersection of the source which is different from the target.

  • Error when embedding a formula field in a text box in a subreport

I am rewriting an application that merges data from a .net application into a Crystal Report template and displays it in the application.  In VS2003, I have had no problems with the reports as they are written.  In VS2010, I get an unusual error on some reports with subreports.
In one report I have multiple subreports.  In those subreports, I have formula fields.  If I take one of those formula fields and embed it into a Text Box and attempt to generate the report through the application, I get the following error:
This field name is not known.
    Details: errorKind
    Error in File Confirm {20564DCB-5CA4-4832-8931-DF1CC6C54784}.rpt:
    Error in formula  optionStrike:
    '{Command.OPTIONSTRIKETIME}'
This field name is not known.
    Details: errorKind
If I take the very same field out of the text box and put it directly on the report, the report will generate without error.
In the case above, OPTIONSTRIKETIME is a string field.  This rules out any conversion errors from a date/number/etc to string for the text box.
Has anyone else encountered this error?  If so, what can be done to avoid it?

    Hello,
    Thank you for the info.
Which driver are you using for the dataset?
If you are using ADO.Plus add this to your App.Config file:
    <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
    <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.0"/>
    </startup>
    Thank you

    Thanks,

    Hi Quint,
This can because of database fragmentation. I would recommend you to re-index the databases and perform a de-fragmentation and can check the behavior.
On the other hand when you receive this message, you can try an IISRESET and check. Additionally you can use refer to following link for de-fragmenting queries.

  • Field name is not known Error in formula field...

    Hi,
    I have a report in CR11.5 r2 that I call from VB6.
The report works fine, until a I create this formula, Trim ({RSE.PatName}).
When I put this formula field in a section in the report, I have this error, "Field name is not known Error".
    Any idea?

Make sure you have SP 6:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100015859952009E/crxir2win_sp6.exe
Does the formula work in the designer?
Are you changing datasource at runtime? If so, can you change to that datasource in the designer and run the report there?
If you do not use the Trim function, does it work?
If you do not use the field in a formula abd place it in say, the detail section as a test, does the report work?
But remember that what ever the report is doing at runtime, must work in the designer 1st.
