Hi Stephen,
Using a registry, for example UDDI [1], would be one solution. WLS has
a complete UDDI implementation builtin [2] for this purpose.
You are correct, you need to pass the service address location found in
the <service> section of the WSDL.
Hope this helps,
Bruce

I am not sure what I need to do to be able to call a remote webservice (runs on
another weblogic server instance running on another machine in the same network)
from within a webservice. I have 2 wsdl files and I have created webservice controls
from them. I have successfully written code in the first webservice to instantiate
the parms to the 2nd webservice and invoked the 2nd webservice when both webservices
are deployed to the same weblogic server instance. So i can see the params being
marshalled and unmarshalled in the test browser.
Now how do I install the 2nd webservice on another weblogic server instance and
instruct the 1st web service to call the 2nd webservice residing on another weblogic
server instance? I presume some kind of lookup (url?) is needed and is it via
what is contained in the wsdl file?
Thanks in advance,

What we are trying is we are invoking webservice by passing SOAP request and we will get soap response back.I understand what you're trying to do, the problem is with tools you're using it will take a while for you do anything a little away from the trivial... Using string concatenation and URL connection and HTTP post to call webservices is like to use a hand drill... It may work well to go through soft wood, but it will take a lot of effort against a concrete wall...
JAX-WS and JAXB and annotations will do everything for you in a couple of lines and IMHO you will take longer to figure out how to do everything by hand than to learn those technologies... they are standard java, no need to add any additional jars...
That's my thought, hope it helps...

• Calling A Secured webservice using Username and password in the Soap header

I want to call a secured webservice.
The Username and password should be sent with the payload in the SOAP Header
as

Can you please send me the steps?
I tried with giving the username and password under Service Account.
I tried to create a wspolicy under business service. But nothing works...
Please help me at the earliest.
Also please give me steps in sequence.

Now i made sure that the endpoint is available!
Now am getting this error:

eventhough we enabled ws security, how the above tag can be false?
I think its getting failed to populate the header with the required login credentials.
The other doubt i have is:-

I have chosen the service account type is static...is this right?

• [OSB] Calling a secured proxy from another secured proxy

Hi,
I would like to call a secured proxy from another secured proxy. However, the call fails.
I'm making a call from a Java stand alone Web Service client. The client uses policy "oracle/wss11_message_protection_client_policy".
The call is made to a proxy secured with a "oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_service_policy". The secured proxy routes to a non secured proxy, which does not process WSS Security Header. The non-secured proxy then routes to a non-secured business service. The call is a success.
Then I add a policy to the second proxy, say "oracle/log_policy". Also I set the value of "Process WS-Security Header" to yes. The call fails.
I'm getting
java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.wsm.agent.handler.WSMEngineInvoker.createWsmMessageContextFromInvokerContext(WSMEngineInvoker.java:733)
in the osb logs.
I have tried adding an empty WSS Security Header in the Soa headers before calling the second proxy. It didn't change anything.
Do you have any ideas?
I have also came up with a super simplified sitution when this error comes up. This happens when I'm calling a pass through proxy (no policy, process WSS security header set to no). Then when this proxy calls a secured proxy with "oracle/log_policy", the call results in this error. Why??
Here is the OSB output when the problem occurs:

• Invoke the secured webservice from BPEL in Solaris environment

Hi All,
Can any one tell me how to invoke the secured webservice from BPEL in Solaris environment as i am able to invoke the secured web service from BPEL in windows platform(soa suite 10.1.3.4).
we have applied 10.1.3.4 patch on solaris environment but we are not able to invoke the same.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Nagaraju .D

Hi Nagaraju,
Read your post.We've somewhat the similar problem as yours as we are facing some error while invoking a WS-Security secured web service from our BPEL Process on the windows platform(SOA 10.1.3.3.0).
For the BPEL process we are following the same steps as given in an AMIS blog : - [http://technology.amis.nl/blog/1607/how-to-call-a-ws-security-secured-web-service-from-oracle-bpel]
but sttill,after deploying it and passing values in it,we are getting the following error on the console :-
“Header [http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing:Action] for ultimate recipient is required but not present in the message”
As you have wriiten that you've already called a secured web service in windows platform ,so if you can please help me out in this issue.
I've opened a separate thread for this to avoid confusion. :-

• How can I call a stateful webservice from a user-defined XPath function?

I'm calling a stateful webservice from a BPEL process using a PartnerLink which implements Custom Header Handler classes to handle the session state, storing the cookie as a property of the PartnerLink.
I'd also like to call this same stateful webservice, in the same session, from a user-defined XPath function enabling me to call this from an XSL Transformation.
Is this in any way possible? Can I access the cookie and attach it to the webservice call made by the user-defined XPath function?

Actually, as long as the servlet returns valid javascript, you can indeed "call it" from the client. It will initiate a request and return the result to the browser.
This example uses Perl, but it could be easily modified to go to a servlet instead.
Note that it is only supported in DOM browsers (IE6+/NN6+/etc)

• How can we call a external webservice from sandboxed webpart?

Hi,
I need to call an external webservice from sandboxed visual webpart in 2013. And that webpart would be used in office-365 site. Please let me whether it is possible or not.
Thanks,

Sandboxed solution server code can't call an external web service. There are ways to write a sandboxed solution that calls a web service using client side code. Here's a sample of a silverlight application deployed via the sandbox that can call
an external web service.

• Getting deserialization error when calling a secured webservice

Hi All,
I am getting deserialization error: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement when I am calling my secured web service through a proxy client.
I have secured my webservice using a keystore, I had created using keytool . In key store I have created keys using RSA algorithm.
when I am doing all this for a webservice in which input is a string variable, then it is working.
But if I am passing a document then it is giving me ERROR OWS-04045 Malformed Request Message: deserialization error: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement .
Below is the code of java class, I have exposed as webservice :
import java.io.StringWriter;
import javax.xml.transform.Transformer;
import javax.xml.transform.TransformerConfigurationException;
import javax.xml.transform.TransformerException;
import javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory;
import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource;
import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
import org.w3c.dom.Document;
public class READXML {
public String getXML(Document xmlDocument) {
TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
Transformer transformer = null;
try {
transformer = tFactory.newTransformer();
} catch (TransformerConfigurationException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
StringWriter writer = new StringWriter();
try {
transformer.transform(new DOMSource(xmlDocument),
new StreamResult(writer));
} catch (TransformerException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
return writer.toString();
Appreciate if any body can help me to resolve the issue.
thanks in advance

Mike,
I have tried by validating xml, again it is giving same error.
when I am not securing my webservice then it is working fine.
The problem is coming only when i am securing my webservice.

• How to call the secured EJB from timer ejb timedout method.

Hi All,
I have a couple of questions on EJB 3.1 Timer Service.
1. How to call the secured EJB (annotated @RolesAllowed) from Timer EJB @Timeout Method?
2. What's the default role/principal with which the Timer @Timeout Method gets called?
Please let me know any info regarding the same.

I'd start here:
http://ant.apache.org/manual/index.html
If that doesn't help, go to the table of contents and start poking around. You don't need to read the whole thing front to back, but if you're not willing to spend some time researching and reading, you're not going to get very far.

• SSLHandshake failure : Calling external SSL webservice from WL10.3

Hi ,
I need to call an external SSL enabled webservice XXX . I have the certificate from webservice provider.
My client is deployed on Weblogic 10.3 . This client works fine from standalone as am using java ssl settings . But it fails when deployed on WL. I have used standard java ssl setting ..javax.net.ssl.trustStore etc.
Weblogic probably overrides java ssl settings and thus am getting below exception. I have tried by setting java ssl in JAVA_OPTIONS but still get the same error. Am not well versed with trustore and keystore and thus unable to understand the problem fundamentally .. I have a dev.pem and dev.pfx file given by XXX . WL in my case acts as a client and I want it as one way SSL configuration ie. client(WL) should not check server (XXX) certification
I have imported the certificate in DemoTrust.jks and not sure what should be imported in DemoIdentiy.jks..
Can someone help me to understand how can I configure my application deployed in weblogic to use keystore and trustore. Its kind of urgent and am struggling it with quite some time ...
