Error in Java based iView when trying to use J2EE bean

I am trying to create a iView based on Java Portal app.
[Java portal app has dynPage based Portal App Object]
I created a PAR and uploaded to Portal. I created iView and worked it fine in (preview).
[iView created using "Content Administration -> Portal Content -> New From Par -> iView"]
I deleted my iView and removed my archive (using "Java Developer -> Portal Archive Deployer/Remover").
I changed java portal project so that I can reference a bean from J2EE app already deployed on server.
[Edited Portalapp.xml to add a
    <property name="PrivateSharingReference" value="SAPJ2EE::service:p4, SAPJ2EE::test.myApp/myBean"/>
This time PAR installs fine, but when I try to preview iView, get following error.
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
com/sapportals/portal/htmlb/page/PageProcessorComponent.
Exception id: 02:36_11/08/05_0016_4991450
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
I removed "SAPJ2EE::test.myApp/myBean" from portalapp.xml and rebuilt PAR and rebuilt iView but I get same error as above.
1. Where are logs located (for iView errors)?
2. Any pointers on using J2EE bean? (I am trying to use step described in topic  "J2EE Applications Access from Portal Applications" from manuals).
3. Do I need to reference any additional libraries to use p4?
Thanks.

The problem seems to be in portalapp.xml
I created second PrivateSharingReference in it
<property name="PrivateSharingReference" value="com.sap.portal.htmlb">
<property name="PrivateSharingReference" value=" SAPJ2EE::service:p4, SAPJ2EE::test.myApp/myBean"/>
I changed to be one entry only like
<property name="PrivateSharingReference" value="com.sap.portal.htmlb, SAPJ2EE::service:p4, SAPJ2EE::test.myApp/myBean"/>
Now iView works again....But still donot know where log is..

  • Error -2147319779 Library not registered when trying to use ActiveX to open microsoft word

    Hi
I am having problems when I try to run an executable on a PC.  My Development PC that has Labview 8.2 and Microsoft Word 2000.  I am able to run my vi (see pic attachement) without any problems.  I compile it as an executable and run it on my Development PC and everything still works ok.  I deployed it on another machine with Labview Run-Time Engine Version 8.2 and it works ok.  I tried it again on a third PC and get the following error
    Error -2147319779 Library not registered
All PC's are running windows XP and all have microsoft word 2000 installed.
I have tried uninstalling National instruments software (Run-time Engine) as well as Microsoft Word on the failing PC, but still no luck.
    Does anyone have any suggestions.
    Thanks

    Hey Steve,
I hate to throw links at you, but it appears this problem has occurred with developers before.
Easy text Report.VI...not so easy (You have to love a title like that)
Problem with LabVIEW Run Time communicating with Access Database
These links may not seem relevant to your issue, but at its base the Report Generation and Database Connectivity toolsets are simply ActiveX/.NET calls into Microsoft products (or ODBC, etc.). This is similar to what you're doing.
Also, I would try reinstalling MS Office. This has been known to solve the problem.
    Cheers.

I have a imac OSX 10.5.8 and get a java "error" message when trying to use a research tool on Morningstar.Java referred me to Apple but they had no updates. Any ideas? thanks.

    Well I solved my problem.
What still doesn't make sense though is that dragging iTune audio files directly on to the iTunes application icon gave me the error message... which is why I originally discounted it as being a potential link problem. If I had been able to get files to open normally (i.e. without an error message) I would have known it was a simple link problem. Strange.
Anyway... relinking my folder of audio files did the trick.
If you don't already know how here are the steps...
iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > click on the "Change" button and browse to the folder that contains all of your iTunes audio files... that's it.

  • Java.lang.ClassCastException when trying to retrive a jdbc/OracleDS

Hello friends, I'm experiencing a rare problem, "java.lang.ClassCastException" when trying to retrive the jdbc/OracleDS datasource using JNDI lookup, the exception is there, either, when running in the embebed OC4J from JDev 10.1.3.3 or when deploying (the War) to my OracleIAS (10.1.2). Actualy we are programing the DataSource and changing the URL each time we update the application (in both environment: Developer and Production), it is just a temporary "work around" while we find the real solution.
We can't Cast a Oracle Object (oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource) to the java DataSource. Why?
    Here you have the story:
The application wa started in Eclipse 3.2 with Tomcat 5, and we are using Struts 1.1 and Hibernate 3, in this environment we don't have problems. the problem happens during deploying the application to our Orace AS 10g (10.1.2). When googling for solution we found related problems in some forums, so we tried all the solutions explained in that post, including this. Finaly, we failed to find the solution.
After that, we migrate the application to JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, and then try the JNDI lookup and the problem STAY, then we did everything again into JDev:
    - Changed the default jdk from 1.5 to 1.4.2_06, for the projects, the embebed OC4J and the Java Compiler....
    - Configuring the DataSource manualy in the xml.
    - Testing with several jdk version, trying on embebed oc4j, standalone oc4j, Oracle IAS, and so on.
    - We have tried everything we found in the posts.
But .... the problem still :'(.
We have found that some guys have solved the problems with the change of the jdk and other small stuff, but all that were not enough for us.
Have somebody found other solution for this problem or we have some alien problem here?.
    Thanks in advance.

Fer Domin, thanks by your replay.
The answer for your question is, YES. We have tried with several DataSource types in the Oracle side (app server, embebed oc4j, standalone oc4j) and the app side (java). Also, all jdbc datasource extend the javax.sql.DataSource .. so it's rare to have this error when doing a simple jndi lookup.
We tried deploying a small app (from Oracle) to test the DataSource in the app server (10.1.2.0.2) and it was working well. But we don't know which jdk was used to package that ear/war (I mean the TestDS small app).
So, everything look like we are having a jdk compatibility problem ... but we don't know which it's or where it's.... because we configure JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 to use the same jdk, even for compiling and running the embebed oc4j and the problem still.
    Thanks again.

  • HT1926 when i try to install update i get this error message  the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable   any ideas

every time i try to update itunes i get this error message    The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable    then asks me to find the folder containing the instalation package ITunes.msi

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Fatal Internal Error: "image.cpp", line 13192 when trying to insert a cursor to graph

NOTE:  This IS a duplicate post from the Breakpoint.  Text slightly changed.  The post in Breakpoint can be deleted.  All comments should be placed in this thread.
I resolved the "Fatal Internal Error: "image.cpp", line 13192 when trying to insert a cursor to graph", but would like to share to find out if others have seen this and to determine whether this is a bug, or if it's time to redo my PC, or buy a new one..
I have an existing graphs (qt 6) which originally had 2 cursors.  This occurred while trying to add the third cursor.
Up until attempting to add the last cursor, the program worked great, and I had been running tests for a while.  However, I do recall seeing this problem when creating the original cursors, but not to this extent.  Plus I don't remember the original error message from that time.
I needed to add one more cursor to the existing graphs.  As soon as I add a new cursor and set it's properties, I get a nasty error message and without warning LV8.2 simply closes itself (well, the only warning was the error message.  Tried it 3 times, same result.
    Here are the steps:
Shut down the PC, went for a coffee, rebooted the PC.  Opened the LV project, opened the VI.  Immediately went to the graph properties to add the new cursor by doing the following steps:
Right click graph indicator icon on block diagram.
    Select Properties.
    Click on cursor tab.
    Click on Add
Select Cursor 2 (3rd one, newly created)
    Change color
    Select cursor as a line
    Remove checkmark for "show cursor"
    Click OK
I need to do this to 3 other graphs, same steps.  And as soon as I get to the step before clicking OK, I get the error message.
I managed to get an additional one done, by immediately saving after each step (yep going in & out of the properties).  But I've had this problem before when creating the first two cursors.
Is it a bug?  Anyone else seen this?  Using LV8.2.  And the message is right about LOOSING ALL unsaved work!!!!
    Here are more observations:
Tried creating a new one on the second graph.  As soon as I clicked on the color, it crashed!
See the error explanation below.  It is really clear, now anyone can solve it    LOL!!...  According to the error log, there's a bad image out there
.\manager\image.cpp(13192) : DAbort: bad image in ValidateImage

I observed the title bar after making changes to the properties.  I noticed that 3 out of 4 times, while changing the properties of the graphs to include the cursor, and saving after each & every step, that there were no stars appearing on the title bar to indicate "unsaved changes".  Saving was also much slower than usual.  I suspect, the program never got to placing the star before saving occurred.  However, I am noting everything.
After creating the cursors, saving was and is normal, and the program runs well..   I have run tests without problems.
Does anyone have a clue at what causes this?   Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks,
    RayR

    Hi Donovan,
I can't remember seeing this elsewhere.  When I get a chance, I'll create a new (blank) vi with new graphs and will repeat the steps.
I will let you know if I see this in the new vi.
    Thanks!
