Error in Local Variable Creation in BPEL
Hi,
In BPEL, we can easyly create[b] local variable of simple type.
But i want to create complex type variables that can be used for my internal purpose.
But it is giving error , if i try to do so.
Could you please give me some inputs of how to create a[b] complex type local variable in BPEL process.
Thanks in advance
define a complex type in the process XSD ..
then, make the local variable ..

Error: 3816: Local System Creation during install was not successful.
Hello,
This is our first time installing Oracle Wokflow 2.6.3 Standalone.
We are having problems with the Event Manager.
When we access the event manager pages:
pls/wf/wf_event_html.listevents?resetcookie=T
pls/wf/wf_event_html.listsystems?resetcookie=T
etc.
We get this error:
Error: 3816: Local System Creation during install was not successful. Please review the install log file for errors.
Error Stack:
WF_EVENT_HTML.isAccessible(EVENTS)
WF_EVENT_HTML.ListEvents()
The installation was successful.
We cannot change the Local System in the Global Workflow Preferences option.
The table WF_systems is empty.
Should the local system appear in this table?
ThanksSoftware component sap.com/LM-TOOLS with version 7.00.9.3 is found on the system but in the stack it is listed with version 7.00.9.0.
Software component sap.com/SAP-JEECOR with version 7.00.9.1 is found on the system but in the stack it is listed with version 7.00.9.0.
You are trying to upgrade a system with the lower version of sap.com/LM-TOOLS and sap.com/SAP-JEECOR. The other thing I notice is that if you are upgrading to EhP4/EhP1 NW then the version of LM and SAP-JEECOR should look something like 7.01.3.0.
Are you using MOPZ to download EhP's ? As the error message says synchronize the system with SAP Solution Manager and then generate a new stack file.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

How to solve error using local variables?
I've created a sequence with a local variable.
But when I execute it, an error occurs since the first step (before the step where I manipulate the local variable).
The error code is something like:
Error in Evaluation. Syntax expression. Column [0-0]
It's interesting because it seems that once I've executed my sequence for the first time I can't create any other sequence where this error doesn't appear.Pparo,
The problem does not occur under TS 1.0.3 on my system. However, I think we can get to the bottom of this.
When at a breakpoint in your sequence, if I type the expression "Locals.nls == 15-" in the TestStand watch window, I will get the message
Evaluation Failed: Syntax error in expression (Column 18-18)
I believe that this is the same type of error that you have encountered. Correct me if I am wrong.
The numbers after the word "Column" indicate where the error has occurred in the expression. In your case the error occurs at the beginning of an expression. The question still remains as to in which expression is error occurring.
Are you seeing this error reported in the watch window? If so, then you have typed the expression in the watch window.
If I copy the bad expression above into a the expression of a Statement step I get a run-time error of
An error occurred in the 'Statement' step of the 'MainSequence' sequence in 'Sequence File1'.
The post-expression for the step 'Statement' could not be evaluated.
Syntax error in expression.
Error Code: -17322
From what you report, the error appears to be located in your watch expression. When I executed your sequence with a breakpoint on the first step, I added the watch expression by selected the Context tab, expanding the Sequence Context tree view until I could see the nls variable, and then I dragged nls from the tree view to the watch window. This created the watch expression of Locals.nls. I also created the same watch expression by right clicking in the watch window, selecting Add Watch from the context menu, and selecting (or typing) Locals.nls. The expressions all evaluated to 24 without error.
This process has NOTHING to do with creating local variables. You asked if you are creating variables properly. There are only 2 ways to create variables in TestStand 1.0.3, neither of which you have described. The most common method is to select the Locals tab after opening your sequence (not during execution), right click in the right pane and add the variable of your choice. It seems like you did this correctly based on the sequence file you sent. The other method of creating variables is to do so programmatically. However, this is beyond the scope of this answer.
You ask a question about "the best way to create three constants in LabVIEW and pass them to a LabVIEW VI that is a step?" This implies to me that you want to create the strings within a VI called by one sequence step, and then use them in another VI called by a different sequence step. I would recommend taking a look at the example AccessingPropertiesAndVariables.seq that ships with TestStand. The first 3 VIs write values back to step properties, but could just as easily write them back to local variables. The 4th VI writes a file reference back to a TS local variable. The 5th and 6th step get the file reference from the TS local variable. You want to do something similar to the 4th and 5th VI, however, you want to send 3 strings to local TS variables, and then get them in the following VI. This will require using "TestStand - Set Property Value (String).vi" and "TestStand - Get Property Value (String).vi" which can be found in the TestStand function palette in LabVIEW. After reviewing this example you can then ask additional question. I recommend posting the question on a different thread since it is unrelated to your original question about the syntax error. -

How to create a local variable in bpel?
Hi,
In my bpel flow I need to call service based upon a pl/sql procedure multiple times. The procedure returns the results of a query in chunks and contains a boolean as an output parameter that tells me whether there are any more records that need to be fetched based upon which I will be calling the service again. I want to achieve this using a while loop. So for the while loop condition I am thinking of creating a local variable in the bpel process and assign it an initial value of false(). Then once the service is called I will set the value of this variable to the output boolean parameter returned by the procedure. So while the boolean is true the service will be called again.
My question is how can I create a local variable in bpel and assign it an initial value of false. Or is there any other way that this can be achieved?
Thanks!!Hello! thanks for yr response.
I tried creating a new variable by defining a scope. But in the create variable window I cannot define a standalone variable of boolean type I need to pick up the type from an lov that brings up a list of all existing variable! so basically u are just mapping to an existing variable which in my case will not work because I will need to map to one of the elements of the output of the pl/sql procedure based service -- also this element itself is not exposed in the lov only the name "inputParameters" is displayed as the element --all the contents are not exposed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks! -
Error in assigning value to local variable
i am writing a stored procedure in which i have pass parameter if parameter value is zero then i assign a previously declared variable null else that value
syntax is this
create or replace
PROCEDURE usp_Add_Update_Insurance
p_CityID IN NUMBER DEFAULT NULL
as
v_CityID number(10,0);
begin
IF p_CityID = 0 THEN
BEGIN
v_CityID := NULL;-----giving error in this line
else
v_CityID:=p_CityID;
END;
END IF;
end
begin
///some query
end
please help someoneI think there is no added value by putting those Begin/End.
The simplest solution is just remove them
Create Or Replace
Procedure Usp_Add_Update_Insurance (
P_Cityid In Number Default Null
) As
V_Cityid Number(10,0);
Begin
If P_Cityid = 0 Then
V_Cityid := Null;
Else
V_Cityid:=P_Cityid;
End If;
-- do something with V_Cityid
End; The only reason for having Begin/End is if you want to catch some exceptions or perform some strange local variable declarations. But it does not seems to be case here.

How to read values from Property file into BPEL process local variable?
I would like to use a Property file with some parameters e.g.
<myparm1>12345</myparm1>
How can I read from a BPEL process such a Property file and assign it into e.g. local variable "intparm1"?
Where (in which directory) should I put this XML Property file to have it always available for reading?
PeterHi,
You can also use
ora:readFile( ) function as follow :
ora:readFile(xml file location (ex. "file:///D:\\SOA\\FileAdapters\\readFile\\test\\test.xml"),xsd file location (ex."file:///D:\\SOA\\FileAdapters\\readFile\\test\\test.xsd"))
inside the assign activity and assign this to the variable you want.

While local variable initialized inside try block compiler throws error???
Check out this code where two local variables(one String and the other int type) is declared at the beginning of the method and initialized inside try block. now when i compile this app, it gives an error sayin' that Variables not been initialized. Can anyone tell me why compiler is throwin' an error message?
Many thanks.

Default initialisation of member variables and local variables
I don't understand why member variables are initialized with default values by Java.
Objects are initialized with "null" and primitives with "0", except boolean, which is initialized with "false".
If these variables are used locally they are not initialized. The compiler requires them to be initialized by the programer, for example "String s = null".
Why? What is the use of that difference?
And why are arrays always initialized with default values, no matter if they are member variables or local variables? For example String[] s = new String[10]; s[0] to s[9] are initialized with "null", no matter if "s" is a local or member variable.
Can someone please explain that strange difference, why it is used? To me it has no sense.Most of the time I have to initialize a local variable
with "String s = null" in order to use it because
otherwise the compile would complain. This is a cheap
little trick, but I think everyone uses it.
I wouldn't agree with "most of the time". The only cases where it is almost necessary to do that is when the variable should be initialized in a loop or a try-catch statement, and that doesn't happen too often.
If local variables were initiliazed automatically without a warning it would be a Bad Thing: the compiler could tell when there is a possibility that a variable hasn't been assigned to and prevent manymanymany NullPointerExceptions on run time.
And you didn't answer me why this principle is not
used with arrays if it is so useful as you think.
Possibly it is much more difficult to analyse the situation in the case of arrays; what if values are assigned to the elements in an order that depends on run time properties such as values returned from a random number generator.
The more special rules one has to remember, the more
likely one makes errors.I agree, but what is the rule to remember in this case? -
How to assign bean value to a local variable in JSP using struts.
Hi everybody!
I've a problem that puzzled me on how to assign a bean value to a local variable like String in JSP using struts.
we can have someting like this to display the value
<bean:write name="detailService" property="status" />or
<bean:define id="theStatus" name="detailService" property="status"/>
This is country: <%=theStatus%>but an error occured when I tried like this:
String currentStatus = "<bean:define id="theStatus" name="detailService" property="status"/>";
or
String currentStatus = "<bean:write name="detailService" property="status" />";Is there a way to do this?.....
Any help pretty much appreciatedJava != JSP.
The <bean:define> and <bean:write> tags are custom tags meant to appear in the HTML section of a JSP file, as opposed to the scriptlet section. They actually get turned into java code as part of the translation process.
The <bean:write> tag naturally just writes out what you tell it to.
The <bean:define> tag defines a local variable, and gives it a value.
this should do it.
<bean:define id="theStatus" name="detailService" property="status" type="java.lang.String"/>
<%
String currentStatus = theStatus;
%>With the advent of JSTL, you shouldn't really need to use scriptlet code anymore. Personally I am for 0% scriptlet code in any jsp I write. -

Service Desk: Error in local message system: You do not have authorization
Hello experts,
i'm configuring support desk scenario. I think all is fine, but, when i try to create a message from satellite (R3 46C) to my SOLMAN the following error appears:
Error in local message system: You do not have authorization to create a notifica Message was not created. (Message no. B~ 088)
The user i use to create the message has the following roles:
SAP_SV_FDB_SUPPORT_LINE_ADMIN
SAP_SV_FDB_SUPPORT_LINE_LEVEL1
SAP_SV_FDB_SUPPORT_LINE_LEVEL2
Z_RFC
and SAP_ALL SAP_NEW profiles.
Anyone knows where is the problem?
Regards
Carlos CalleHi Carlos,
Role that allows processing messages is SAP_SUPPDESK_PROCESS. However from what I have understand, once End User enters and submits the message, he/she cannot edit the message anymore. Probably an email will be generated to him/her to notified of the message creation and for futher updates. I think end user should not be required to logon to Solution Manager. Key User i.e. helpdesk or SAP support staff will process(edit/change) the message instead.
If you want something else, I think you need to create a customise role maybe from SAP_SUPPDESK_DISPLAY or PROCESS and change the authorization values.
The below note contains latest authorization info.
Note 834534 - SAP Solution Manager roles in Release 4.0
Experts,
Correct me if I am wrong.

Annie
