Error in programmatic user authentication

Hi All,
I have the same problem related in this thread:
Problem in Programmatic User Authentication
Here the solution was to use OC4J 9.0.3 instead of OC4J 9.0.4
Is there another solution ?
Thanks in advance
Benito

Navid,
I was looking in the other thread and there was a problem related to validating the user, and also one concerning the dms.jar. I assume that you are referring to the former. Can you please state your current summary of the problem?
The main difference between running in Embedded OC4J and deploying to OC4J is the following: Running in Embedded OC4J you might have a different set of jar files you run against. You can check the jars used in JDeveloper 10g by choosing the menu option Tools - Embedded OC4J Preferences. Then choose Libraries (there is one Libraries entry under Global, and one under Current Worksparce). This set of libraries is probably different from the one in the EAR file.
* You could try making them the same and see if that helps.
* You could also try using the JDeveloper deploy tool to create an EAR file instead of the Ant script (if you are using Ant now).
* You can also try to deploy to the standalone OC4J that is included with JDeveloper. In the WebServices tutorial at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe9051jdev/WebServicesOBE/OBEWebServices.htm it is described how to do that. If this works, there is a difference in the way OC4J 9.0.4 is installed or configured (or the patch level).
Besides trying to solve the differences between Embedded OC4J and standalone OC4J, I would like to point out the following: I noticed that bug 3412804, which could well be the one you are running into, is fixed in a patch set for OC4J 9.0.4, but is not fixed yet in OC4 10.1.2 (see backport bug 4135710). Did you test with OC4J 9.0.4 after applying the patch for bug 3412804? See MetaLink for more information (http://metalink.oracle.com).
hope this helps,

  • Programmatic User Authentication in JHS 10.1.3

    Dear JHeadstart Team,
    I want to implement such functionality that was in the JHeadstart 9.05 called "Programmatic User Authentication".
    I have implemented the authentication and role based security using JHeadstart 10.1.3 (using custom security) but I just used some predefined roles like the ones used in chapter 5 of JHeadstart Developer's Guide.
    Is it possible to have a completely dynamic user management which show/hide tabs based on information in the tables (like the ones used in the old JHeadstart with use of groups and RoleGroups and Roles tables)? If so, How can I implement that?
    Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Navid

    Navid,
    Yes, this is possible. JHeadstart simply calls the hasAccess method on the JhsUser interface. So, rather than passing in a role name, you can also pass in a group name, your implementation of the JhsUser interface should then pick up the group name and perform a qeury that looks up the roles that provide access to this group, and then check whether the current user is in one iof these roles. This is the same mechanism as we had in 10.1.2 JHeadstart Demo.

  • Programmatic User Authentication in JHS 10.1.2

    Hi,
    I've been trying to use JHS 10.1.2. and the Programmatic User Authentication example of 9.0.5.2 but this obviously does not seem to work.
    Could you please supply information how to enable programmatic User Authentication in JSH 10.1.2?
    Thanks
    William

    William,
    We are currently working on upgrading the old "JHeadstart Demo" to the JHeadstart ADF release. This demo will include programmatic user authentication. We have not scheduled the next patch release yet, but may 2005 seems realistic at this point.
    In the meantime, you could start off with the implementation provided in the non-ADF Jheadstart release, and upgrade it to the ADF release. I know of one customer who did that. It is not that hard, the approach will largely stay the same. An authentication filter checks whether the user is already logged on by checking some session attribute and will forward to an authenticate user action that validates the username/password.

    Can somebody help me out?

    Hi Bright,
    Please check SAP Version and DTW Version is same or not.
    If not same then please try to remove DTW and install Same Version of DTW as SAP B1.

  • User authentication errors

    I have the following set up as a very basic user authentication system (without using databases):-
    * a html file using forms to enter the username and password
    * a jsp file which contains the following:
    <jsp:useBean id="login" scope="page" class="login" >
    <jsp:setProperty name="login" property="*" />
    </jsp:useBean>
    <HTML>
    <head>
    <title>Processing login request</title>
    </head>
    <h1>Login request</h1>
    <%
    String name = request.getParameter("Username");
    String passwd = request.getParameter("Password");
    String result = login.loginUser(name, passwd);
    if (result.equalsIgnoreCase("validuser"))
    %>
    <jsp:forward page="Anypage.htm"/>
    <%
    else
    %>
    <h2>Invalid username / password</h2>
    <%
    %>
    </body></html>
    * and finally a java file which contains the following:
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class login
    //the arrays names and password should have the same number of entries
    private static String[] names = {"Bob", "Bill"};
    private static String[] password = {"a1357", "b9876"};
    public String loginUser(String name, String passwd)
    boolean user = false; //assume the username is not valid
    int j = 0;
    for (j = 0; j < names.length; j++)
    if (name.equalsIgnoreCase(names[j]))
    user = true;
    break;
    //check for password
    if (user)
    if (passwd.equalsIgnoreCase(password[j]))
    return "validuser";
    return "invaliduser";
    My problem is this. When I enter any username and password, I get the following errors.......

    can anyone tell what is wrong and recommend how I fix it? Thanks.

    Make sure you that the file login.java is in your WEB-INF/classes directory and then import the class into your jsp page using the <%@page %> directive:
    i.e
    <%@page import="login" %>
    Also, it isn't a good idea to use a variable with the exactly same name as one of your classes. Captialise the first letter in your class names.
    For instance use:
    public class Login()
    rather than:
    public class login()
    So that you can then code:
    Login login = new Login();

    Can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Zorko

    Hi Zorko,
    The issue may happen in case:
    1. The Master Data Service(MDS) web application is running under a domain user account
    2. You didn't register a Service Principal Name(SPN) for the account
    3. You are using fully qualified domain name(FQDN) or host name to access the MDS
    4. You are able to access the MDS by IP address(http://<ip address>)
    If I am right, it is because of the browser choose to use Kerberos authentication to connect to the MDS.
    So then, to fix the issue, please:
    Register SPN for the application pool account. Enable the delegation.
    Or, please force the web site to use NTLM authentication only.
    For more information, please see:

  • User authentication error after a successful authentication

    Hi,
    I have configured OAM 10g (10.1.4.3).It uses AD as the Directory server and OHS 11g (11.1.1.6) as the web server.
    Created a policy domain with the resouce URL /test.Created an authentication scheme which has the plugins: credential_mapping, validatepassword and a custom plugin which is a ".dll" file.
    So when i browse the URL http://IP:7777/test (Resource URL in policy domain), it redirects me to "/public/login.html" page which is the login page and resides in the web server. The login page consists of 3 fields: username, password and security code. This performs a 2 factor authentication. The first factor "username + password" is validated against AD, the second factor (username + security code) is validated against RADIUS, the custom plugin takes care of this.
    When the user is redirected to "/public/login.html", i can see the cookies "obFormLoginCookie" and "ObssoCookie" in the browser (mozilla). These 2 cookies are present even before the user authentication.
    User authentication works fine and user is redirected to a page which says "Authentication successful". This page doesn't have a logout button, you just have to close the page and login again.
    The next time when the user browses the URL "http://IP:7777/test (resource URL in Policy domain), it ideally has to redirect to "/public/login.html" where you have the form, but it throws an error saying "Not Found.The requested URL /test isn't found". But when i directly access the login page "/public/login.html", it would give you the login page and when i enter the credentials, this time it says "Not Found.The requested URL /access/dummy.cgi isn't found.
    /access/dummy.cgi" is the action URL present in the login page, the same is present in the authentication schemes.
    But when i clear the cookies, and login again, this time the authentication would be successful. So, i will always have to clear the cookies and login, which i think isn't feasible. Is the above mentioned error message expected? I just Couldn't understand the behaviour of these cookies in this context.
    Any ideas/suggestions would be really helpful to me.
    Thanks.

    Hello
    I am running ACS 5.4, When I try a "show repository <repository_name>" command I get "user authentication error" however I have admin status. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Can you share the show running-config from the ACS.
    Just  to clarify, the admin role on the ACS is not important, the user that  you have mentioned in the repository configuration should be present on  the respective respository and the password should be correct.
    eg:
    repository ftp
    url ftp://1.1.1.1/
    user ed password plain ed
    The user name ed should be there on the ftp server and the password should be correct.
    nothing to do with the admin role on the ACS if that is what you meant.

    I configured PATH by setting to above, and tried CSSExport again, still failed.
    Than I disabled the NTLM is HSS, tried CSSExport again. It was successful.
    So I am convinced that the problem caused by NTLM or PATH environment variable or some files associated.
    Does anybody know the solution ?

    I recommend you upgrade at least to 10.1.0.5. 10.1.0.2 comes with the very first version of csalter.plb, which has not the current implementation. From and to which character set do you try to migrate?

  • Password Violation error while creating users from Admin interface

    Guys,
    The Sun Identity Manager system throws policy violation error while creating users from Sun Identity Manager Admin interface.
    Current System:
    1. I have configured TAM Pass-Thru authentication for End User Login Application.
    2. I have an admin user 'testsjimadmin1' who has admin capabilities. testsjimadmin1 user has default SJIM password policy.
    3. I have custom password policies configured for different orgainizatoions
    Problem:
    1. The Sun Identity Manager throws a password policy violation error when 'testsjimadmin1' tries to create an user with valid or invalid password from Sun Identity Manager Admin interface.
    2. If TAM Pass-thru authentication is removed for 'End User Login Application' and Sun Identity Manager default authentication is configured for 'End User Login Application' then testsjimadmin1 was able to create user successfully without any errors.
    Please let me know if any configurations are required to be made on Sun Identity Manager for TAM Pass-Thru authentication so that admin users can create users successfully from admin interface.
    Appreciate your help!!!
    Thanks

  • SOAP reciever adapter user authentication

    Hi,
    I have configured  SOAP receiver communication channel using User authentication.
    How I can confirm that these credentials are being sent out.
    Please let me now where to check these in XI?

    Thank You both for your replies.
    I observed two things
    1) I selected adapter engine in Message Monitoring, in Audit log, it shows
    Adapter Framework caught exception: null  and the message failed with System Error.
    but on Integration Engine it shows all messges are succesfsul
    2) I have installed TCP Gateway on my PC, and created two connections with two different port numbers namely 50081, 50082.
    In my receiver SOAP channel, I have given URL as http://local PC ip address:50081
    When I send message from R3 system it reached XI and messages shows successful in moni,. but I could not see any in TCP Gateway.
    Is there anything Iam missing,

  • Redirect to the jsp page after user authenticated successfully  …

    Here is the requirement …
    I’m using “JAAS – Custom Login Module” for user authentication.
    I have few questions in Portal Logon process …
    1. Exactly at what point I can conclude that the user has been authenticated successfully, because I have to redirect the user to some other page for the first time logon to enter some information, subsequent logins shouldn’t be redirected. (I can update flag upon entering information).
    2. Where should I add my redirection code? Is it in my JASS Custom Login Module?
    If yes, how can I do that ? I’m more consider on “where should I add it”?
    3. Do I need to change my “UmLogonPage.jsp” to complete my requirement?
    4. Once after entering the Logon information, who will call my JASS – Custom Login Module for authentication? If authentication has failed who will return the control back to the “umLogonPage.jsp”?
    5. In my JASS Custom Login Module, I have no redirections except having logic for authentication process, and some Login Exceptions are thrown for failure logins.
    6. Who will catch these exceptions for failure logins to redirect back to the “umLogonPage.jsp”.
    7. Finally I like to know where can I add my redirection logic once the user has been authenticated successfully?
    8. last but not least can any of the experts explain the whole login process (using JASS module)? How the control goes from one component to another?
    Any kind of help is appreciated.
    Points can be awarded for useful answers.
    Thanks

    Thanks a lot for your valuable reply.
    yes what you said was correct, storing information in R/3 System and getting the details from FM using Connector framework.
    You said i have to modify "header.jsp", can you please tell which .par file should i get to modify?
    one more question to you ... i have provide custom logon error messages to the user ... i did all the modification in logon.par and deployed in EP 6 .. working fine .. i can able to see "User ID Missing" , "Password Missing" etc ..
    when i place same peace of code in EP 7 it always displaying "User Authentication failed". can u guess what whould be the problem?
    Thanks

  • Need help with external user authentication

    Hello,
    I need some help to set up an external user authentication in Oracle DB 10g. Using the documentation at
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/OsAuthentication.php
    I added the user alex to my linux system and checked the parameter os_authent_prefix:
    SQL> show parameter os_authent_prefix
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    os_authent_prefix string ops$
    SQL>
    I created the oracle user alex using
    CREATE USER alex IDENTIFIED EXTERNALLY;
    as well as
    CREATE USER ops$alex IDENTIFIED EXTERNALLY;
    The parameters in the sqlnet.ora are set to
    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, HOSTNAME, EZCONNECT)
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (ALL)
    Being the local user alex on the linux server I can login:
    $ sqlplus /
    SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Tue Aug 30 08:56:26 2011
    Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.
    Connected to:
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    SQL>
    Now using a Windows Client:
    C:\>sqlplus alex@<netservicename>
    SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Di Aug 30 10:31:37 2011
    Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.
    Kennwort eingeben:
    ERROR:
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
    - So, what's wrong?
    - Do I always have to create oracle users with the prefix "ops$" to the local username? How do these users login - with or without the prefix 'ops$'?
    - I read that kerberos authentication is only available through oracle advanced security addon. What about authentication through ldap?

    Obviously it doesn't work from any remote system.
    For this to happen the parameter remote_os_authent would have been set to true.
    Warning: this poses a security risk.
    As far as I know you should have been logged in as alex on the client, and using sqlplus /
    However, from 10g onwards Oracle comes with Oracle Wallet, which stores the password encrypted outside the database in a file, called wallet, and which is accessible from anywhere.
    You would better use that.
