Hello,
do the OPS$ User exist? Do they have the right permissions? To which user does the table SAPUSER belong? Can you connect with sap<xyz) or SAPR3 to database?
e.g. like
sqlplus /nolog
connect sap<xyz>/pw?
you should change the password for the sap database user with brtools, like
brconnect -f chpass -o [sapr3 | sap<sid> | sap<xyz> | sapsr3] -p <new_password>

Hello everyone!
I have some problems with importing a database, I can't find the answer so I turn to you people.
I've tried to import to an empty database (with the necessary tables of course) but that gave more errors, so I created the important schemes and tables with the sqls from the original database.
The original database is working, everything is in there so I don't really understand the "not found" or "does not exists" errors, because I think Oracle is supposed to do the import in such a way, that the connections between objects doesn't get lost, so the database is built up from the bottom.
The machine I export the data from:
CentOS 5.5
Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
NLS_CHARACTERSET EE8MSWIN1250
nls_length_semantics string BYTE
The machine I try to import data:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 (Tikanga)
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
NLS_CHARACTERSET AL32UTF8
nls_length_semantics string CHAR
(Before you ask, we are Platinum Partners that is why we have Enterprise Edition, we can use it but we don't have support)
The export command: expdp system/password full=y directory=dmpdir dumpfile=export.dmp logfile=export.log

And many objects are missing, triggers, sequences, indexes. Much more than the number of errors in the import_db.log.
I hope someone can help me.

Edited by: 925120 on Apr 3, 2012 2:07 AMHi, and welcome to OTN!
Firstly, try to create the new database with the same character set and nls_length_semantics,
The machine I export the data from:
CentOS 5.5
Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
NLS_CHARACTERSET EE8MSWIN1250
nls_length_semantics string BYTE
The machine I try to import data:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 (Tikanga)
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
NLS_CHARACTERSET AL32UTF8
nls_length_semantics string CHARThis could be responsible for the error:
KUP-11007: conversion error loading table "SCHAME_NAME"."TABLE_NAME"
ORA-12899: value too large for column COLUMN_NAME (actual: 3767, maximum: 4000)Secondly, I often find it better to not do a full export/import when moving between databases, and especially when moving between different database versions. The importing database have a (almost) fully populated sys and sysman-schema, and the full import is trying to add stuff to those schemas, causing all kind of violations.
So, could you try to either export only the schemas that you're interested in (the user schemas), or just import these from the full export, and post the results?

regardsHi..
ya temporary tablespace is present,and also contains 2gb freespace,with 2 datafiles.Are you sure its a datafile.It must be a tempfile. :)
Secondly, have you checked the default temporary tablespace of the database. Is it the one that you have mentioned.
SELECT PROPERTY_NAME,PROPERTY_VALUE FROM DATABASE_PROPERTIES where PROPERTY_NAME='DEFAULT_TEMP_TABLESPACE';

Whenever you are exporting and importing database remember following rules;
1. The Import utility and the database to which data is being imported (the target database) must be the same version.
2. The version of the Export utility must be equal to the lowest version of the source or target database.
Good luck. :)

Your Help will be very much appreciate.I am using SQL Server databaseThe error concerns these two lines:
boolean success = insertIntoDB("'" + FirstName + "','" + LastName + "','" + Email + "','" + Login + "','" + Password + "'");
statement.execute("INSERT INTO Users(user_id,FirstName,LastName,Email,Login,Password) values (" + stringtoinsert + ");");
In the first line above, you have a string which represents the VALUES which you are inserting. There are 5 values. However in the second line above this is your actual SQL execution you are specifying 6 columns of data. If the column "user_id" is an identity or auto-incrementing field in the database, just remove it from this line. If not then you need to supply the "UserID" into the VALUES.
This should fix the problem. -
Persistent Layer Error Message: ORA-01729 database link name expected
Hi,
I've done a series of loads from DB2 into Oracle, initially importing the database objects from DB2 and Oracle, then creating the mappings, deploying and executing. It all worked and I had no problems. For some reason now whenever I tried to import a new Database Object (table) from the DB2 I enter the password, test it and it successfully connects but then I get the error message on a popup box:
SQL Exception
Persistent Layer Error: SQL Exception
Class Name: CacheMediator
Method Name: getSQLResult
Persistent Layer Error Message: ORA-01729 database link name expected
If I create a new location for the same database it works and I can import new objects. The only difference I can think from the initial imports is that I’ve moved the repository from one server to another. Might be the case where some information got corrupted in the metadata.
Has anyone seen this kind of problem before? Can you please help me out with this issue?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
LeoI found it.When I look at the db links there is something missing. When I correct it everything works fine.

Error: Unable to Load Database
Anyone seen this error: "Unable to Load Database"? How to recover? A link or a page for me to read would work too. thx! James
The usual cause for this is that the database has become corrupted - or one or more key files was somehow deleted. Take a look at the application log and see if there is a more detailed message. Unfortunately, if the data has been corrupted, you will have to recover from backup, or rebuild your cube.To get the database started, you can go into the database directory and delete the *.ind, *.pag, *.tct, *.ind and *.esm files. This will allow the app to start, but the data will be GONE - you will HAVE to reload and calc it, or restore from backup.Regards,Jade--------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

Diagnosis
The SAP system was unable to save the current job in the database. This failure suggests that there is a problem with the database system or with the network connections between the SAP application servers and the database system.
System Response
Job not saved and not scheduled.
Procedure
To analyze this problem, start by checking the system log for messages about network or database problems. You can also use the computing center management system to check your system for problems.
Guide me for the same.
ThankuHI,
Sometimes this error will come.
Try to schedule jobs manually using SM36 instead of using standard job button.
Also you can check this thread
Re: Error saving job SAP_REORG_JOBS to database
Which seems to report same problem.
Its nothing to take with database conenctivity as SAP is up and running .
Try this and revert.

When I go to import my cd into iTunes it is only letting me import one track at a time. Also occasionally I getting this error when I try to import a track. "The file 'xxxxx.cda' cannot be imported because it does not appear to be a valid exported file." What's with this? Any help/suggestions?
