Error in Selective deletion of cube

HI
I want to delete all the records in a cube based on the values in a field say VGUID.
i have generated the selective deletion pgm from 'RSDRD_DELETE_FACTS' and i am submitting all the values in the field VGUID to this in a report program.
SUBMIT gp46pdkfwf255w7uqo4y2i8sx2h WITH c007 IN ra_vguid.
ra_vguid contains all values that need to be deleted from the cube.
this works fine for a small number of VGUIDs but fails for large sets(3,000 records) giving system error.
System error: CREATE_TABLE_AS_SELECT/RSDU_EXEC_SQL /BI0/0100000074 0
Message no. DBMAN100
Diagnosis
A system error with the following parameters has occurred in the data manager:
Parameter 1 = &v1&
Parameter 2 = &v2&
Parameter 3 = &v3&
Parameter 4 = &v4&
How can I delete all my candidate records from the cube?

i tried to split the VGUID list ( 100 records ). first 100 records are deleted but the rest records are not deleted . is there a problem with my code?

wf_count = wf_count + 1.
ra_vguid-low = wa_vguid-/bic/yc1vguid.

You can delete Data from this using One custom Program. You need to use either RSDRD_SEL_DELETION(function module ) or RSDRD_BUILD_REPORT_FOR_BATCH(Function Module). there is a parameter in above functioen modules I_THX_SEL which needs to be populated using selections.
or
You need to schedule the Background job from Manage screen on Monthly Basis(Provided that selection should be fixed in every month).
I will update the thread with psudo code.

Selective Deletion from Infocube Only (Not from Aggregates)

Hi,
For the Selective Deletion, i used the FM 'RSDRD_SEL_DELETION' in program. But this FM deletes the data first from Infocube then from aggregate.Because of this, deletion took more time to delete and adjust the Aggregate.
I need an way in which i can delete the data from Infocube only and after i reach to my reconcile period then i will deactivate and actiavted the aggregate, so the data will be consistent in Infocube and aggregate.
is there any to Delete(Selective Deletion) the data only from the Infocube not from its aggregate (for the Performance Point of View)?

You can try manual selective deletion which will delete data from cube only. check out the below thread.

If you want to delete data from FM only, then try to deactivate your aggregates before you start your selective deletion.
Once deletion is done, you can reload the aggregates

Selective deletion job taking very long time

I am performing the selective deletion on cube for the year 2011 and the deletion job is running for a long time (14 hrs). Generally this job takes few mins to execute.

Selective Deletion of the Cube contents in Abap Program of the PChain

Dear Experts
I need to selectively delete the contents in Basic Infocube using Process Type - ABAP Program in the Process Chain in BW 3.5
For this I have to give the Variant and Program name in the Process Type - ABAP Program in the Process Chain
The ABAP Program for this purpose can be generated automatically by the system in the the below navigation
info cube> Manage>contents > system menu(in the Top)> Status
but this abap program is changing dynamically every time and hence in the Process chain ABAP Program node is failing with error saying that that program is not available
I have tried the same way in the selective deletin navigation path also in the cube manage
Please let me know how to get the system generated program to use in the Process type-ABAP Program in Process Chain

Hi KSR,
Try this.. start a selective deletion on the cube. you will get a background job running. Get the job name from SM37.
Now write a ABAP program with the below code.
parameter: p_Job_Name type sysuuid_c.
CALL METHOD cl_rscrmbw_bapi=>exec_rep_in_batch
EXPORTING i_barepid = l_jobnam.
Execute the above program. Pass the job name which you got from SM37.
Create a variant with that job name.
Now schedule this newly created program. This should solve your issue.
Note : The job name might vary from one server to another (Dev / Qual / Prod). So if you are planning to move your process chain from Dev, then pass the Job name (in prod) as the variant in yr Dev system and then transport it.

Error to delete the cube

Iam in ASo using 11.1.1.2v I am not able to delete the cube its saying eror 1054002 :loading application is not permitted i deleted in app folder but in EAS its not delting i tried with maxl also but its not delting this is happne bcoz of
i changed admin password and i re created partition then its not showing anything again reset the password to"passord" then i am not able to see the data in the cube so i want to delete that cube but its giving error

I hope, u have deleted the application from back end.... and not able to delete the same from Console.. Is it ?
I think, u need to refresh the Appliation list or disconnect the Ananltycal server and then connect it again, hope it will disapperar.;;;;;;

How to Selectively Delete ONE Key Figure from Cube....

Hi:
On a Daily basis (Via Process Chain), I need to do the following:
1. DELETE Single Key Figure from my planning cube. When the "PYMNT DATE" is greater than System Date, then delete the
key Figure.
2. Once Deleted, LOAD the same Single Key Figure from another cube when the PYMNT DATE is GT System Date.
How can I do this in a Program. What would be the code for this? Need help with ABAP.

Non Cumulative Cube selective deletion and Reload

Hi,
We have a typical scenario, where in the company code displays # when we execute the inventory reports at plant level,
Upon analysis, we did find the Plant to Company code mapping was not maintained at R/3. Now this was fixed, hence we are planning to do selective reload for that particular plant alone.
Keeping in mind the loading sequence/scenarion for Inventory, can any one advise if we need to do stock init again for this plant and reload the data after selective deletion.
Or can we directly load from the material movement datasource. Will there be any impact ie: at marker update etc.
Note: We already have data into this inventory cube for last 2 years.
The cube contain aggregate compression.

No Selective Deletion on Inventory Cube 0IC_C03 via Calendar Day

Hi,
I need to repair my Inventory Cube 0IC_C03 for a certain date. To do that, I need to perform a Selective Deletion on the Cube and perform a FULL REPAIR REQUEST limited on that day only.
But to my surprise, I could not find a Calendar Day entry in the "DeletionSelection".
Is there a workaround or do I need to switch on anything?

Anyway, I dont think Export Datasource would help. As you may know, Inventory Cube 0IC_C03 uses 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF data sources. This CUBE is somehow special.
To cut this problem short, I'll go straight to the point. How could I perform INIT via 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF w/o R/3 downtime at all? The reason I came to this Selective Deletion thing is to patch up the mess the INIT would introduce when there are users around by using a REPAIR FULL REQUEST only for that single day...

I am trying to do a selective delete to our inventory cube 0IC_C03 and found there is not an option to select day.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how do delete using day? Please note that my cube has been compressed and I do not have a request in the cube.

Selective deletion on info cube taking long time.

We have a cube with line item dimension and partioned on Fiscal year. When we are doing selective deletions on the cube on 0fiscper (removing the old redundant data) it is taking quite long time (approx 10 hours) to do this selective deletions as there is huge data in the E fact table ,Request older than 4 days are compressed in the cube and it has some millions of records in this table.
Is there any way we can improve the performance of this selective deletion? Any improvements suggestions we are on sap BW 3.5 system.

The issue is very specific .
I recommend to check if there are defined matching indexes which fit to the where clauses of the delete statements. This will make the access to the record most effient.
All other indexes need to be just deleted for the time-being and re-created after the clean is completed. This will save the time for updating the indexes.
The deletes should be performed in bulks - i.e. many, e.g. 25, 100, more at once. If deletes sqls are send from ABAP to database one by one there is huge overhead in the network traffic time.

I need to delete a row from a cube through selective deletion from manage tab. I had struck while giving selecting the criteria for that deletion.
My Quesion is;
1) What criteria i need to give to delete the row apart from business related information?
2) What is data packet SID ? what i have to mention in that column?
3) What is Request id SID? what i have to mention in that column?

Of xourse you do it for example from Infoprovider, right click maanage, Content (first tab) Selective deletion.
Then you get a tab where you can schedule the job according to the selections in the tab Selective Deletion where you can set a filter for the characteristics included in the Cube.
You can select single Characteristics vlue oder range or multiple.
If you want to dlete a record than you have to know the key of this records. For example if you have
customer
company
month
if you select only month, then you delete all month but if you restrict to month and cusotmer than you delete the combination of them.
Reuest sid is the identifier of the request which you see on the tab manage of the cube. you select on that and in this case you will delete all request it means all records loaded with the request.

1.In my manage data target screen i have 8 cubes but i want do selective deletion from 1st cube ..how i can do ..?
Im thinking like...IN DETILS column i will select.one data target and then i will go to contents tap and then selective deletion for paricler requst ID...is correct to do selective deletion for particler data target out of 8 cubes..plz tell me
2.in production ...while doing selective deletion ...aggregates are failed...means status is in red color...
now,how can i create or build or rebuild those aggrgates again...please and my qns...

1. technically Yes its ok to do selective deletion of only 1 cube, incase of delta load you will have to do selective reload to only that cube otherwise data for that perticular selection will get doubled in rest of 7 cubes.
Actually depends on situation in which you plan to do so.
2. its possible to aggreegates get affected due t selective deletion.
Just go to manage->rollup tab of cube and rebuild agreegates.

How to recover selectively deleted data in Transaction cube ?

hi Experts,
We load data in transaction cube from manual entry layout, flat file source as well and then subsequently to basic cube.
Selective deletion has been done in transactin cube and corresponding basic cube without giving proper selection condition. Therefore all the actual data for the month was deleted.
How can we recover all the months data ??
Its highly importantto recover the data as soon as possible. Quick reply will be really appreciated.

Is there any ODS or PSA inbetween, If yes then you can load the Data from them again. Otherwise you have to load the data again.
