  • Error while testing ITS Connection

    Hi all:
         There is an error while testing ITS Connection,  it says the 8000 port is a closed point by the firewall ,  but according to the
    administrator of intranet,  there is no firewall between ECC and Portal, I guess I should add port 8000 into service file ? I mean the file of Host and Service, am I right ?
    An HTTP/S connection to http://10.180.80.171:8000 was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.

    thank you very much for your help. for update server's full name, may I put the mapping values  into host file in the format of  <ip address> <hostname.domain name> <hostname>, do you think it is OK?
    in the second blog you suggest there is something about Server port(please refer to the following):
    in the window machine, there should be an entry like sapms<SAP System ID> , can you please give me a full example:
    let's say my system ID is EC1,  so it would be sapmsEC1  8000/tcp, right ?
    Here you have to enter the port of your application server. By default this is 80<SAP System ID>. But your basis administrator can modify this setting, thatu2019s why you should check it in the transaction SMICM (Goto -> Parameters -> Display). For example the IBSolution Development System Erinome the port is 8000.
    You can also have a look into your services file on your machine. If you have a windows machine then the file exists e.g. here C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services
    In this file you should search a entry like sapms<SAP System ID>.

  • Error while testing Driver connection Through The EnterPrise Manager

    Hi -
    I am using OAS 10.1.3v for my application.I am using both SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver and Oracle JDBC driver for my application. I am encountering problems due to SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver.
    I tried testing for connectivity for SQL driver through the enterprise manager.(on the em console, inside home/administration/JDBC resources ). I am getting the following error :
    Unable to create : com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Missing class: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver Dependent class: oracle.oc4j.sql.config.DataSourceConfigUtils Loader: oc4j:10.1.3 Code-Source: /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/lib/oc4j-internal.jar Configuration: in META-INF/boot.xml in E:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar This load was initiated at ascontrol.web.ascontrol:0.0.0 using the Class.forName() method. The missing class is available from the following locations: 1. Code-Source: /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/applib/mssqlserver.jar (from in /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/config/server.xml) This code-source is available in loader global.libraries:1.0. This shared-library can be imported by the "ascontrol" application
    I tried adding mssqlserver.jar to the shared library.Still, i got the same error.
    The connection which i am trying to test, has the following entry in the data-sources.xml :
    <connection-pool name="BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL1" max-connections="30">
         <connection-factory factory-class="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" user="sa" password="" url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=WE411;selectMethod=cursor" commit-record-table-name=""/>
         </connection-pool>
         <managed-data-source connection-pool-name="BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL1" jndi-name="jdbc/ExpressJDBCDataSource" name="ExpressJDBCDataSource"/>
    I also tried with native-data-source option in the data-source.xml without a connection pool like -
    <native-data-source
    name="ExpressJDBCDataSource"
    jndi-name="jdbc/ExpressJDBCDataSource"
    description="Native DataSource"
    data-source-class="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource"
    user="sa"
    password=""
    url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=WE411 ;selectMethod=cursor ">
    </native-data-source>
    I am getting the same error as above.
    Has anybody encountered a similiar problem ?

  • Get an error when testing the connection

    Hi
    I'm using the B1i with SBO 2007.
    I'm able to create my own system. I filled in everything except under the field "jcoPath". Do we need to fill in the rest???
    I get the following error when I test the connection

    Can someone please tell me what the problem is???
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ian
    Thank you for your response, greatly appreciated. If i go to the path you suggest below I do not have the JCO lobaries there.
    Mine is under C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One Server\DI API\JCO\LIB because they have changed the file tructure slightly in SAP 2007.
    I agree that this should be added but it is still not working.
    Any other ideas???
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Edward,
    Yes i did install the JCO connectors for SBO on the B1iserver.
    Actually i got the same B1i configuration working on a dev computer (Windows XP) and the connection to SBO is working properly, so i wonder if the problem comes from the O/S server (Windows 2003 server). what do you think ?

    Hi
      Please ensure that you have the msgserver entry in your services file. The problem you are getting is because of the message server. you need to have a entry like
    sapms<System ID>    tcp/3601
    Also go to your SAP logon pad and check for groups. and type the sid in the box along with the appserver and then click on generate list. You should get some logon groups. If not you can be sure that your message server is not configured properly. Talk to your SAP Basis person

    Both NSP and J2E instances are on the same server. OS - win2k3.
    I checked the services file and have the sapmsNSP entry.
    I am able to launch an SAP transaction from System Administration -> Support
    RZ70 from NSP also fails JCo error. SLD_UC RFC itself works fine and the JCo RFC provider SLD_UC program is running
    WEB AS & ITS connections work fine.
    User authentication is from backend, NSP.
    I think I have gone thru all the logs but could not resolve the issue.
    I appreciate any help on this,
    Victor

    I tried to go thru the thread. I did not find any clue as why only server connectivity is failing. ABAP trial version is running fine and the NW trial version is working fine too. These run without crashing. I did a lot of customizing on the portal but dont see any issues except the System Connectivity. Like I mentioned I did UME configuration to point to NSP ABAP instance and I can log into the portal with user credentials that I use to login to ABAP.  I can launch webgui etc without any issues.

    Note: from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/guide/rmi/sunrmiproperties.html/#connectionTimeout
    sun.rmi.transport.proxy.connectTimeout (1.1 and later)
    The value of this property represents the maximum length of time (in milliseconds) that the RMI runtime will wait for a connection attempt (createSocket) to complete, before attempting to contact the server using HTTP. This property is only used when the http.proxyHost property is set and the value of java.rmi.server.disableHttp is false. The default value is 15000 milliseconds (15 seconds).

  • Error while testing ECC and Portal-Connect to SAP gateway failed

    Dear Experts,
    While testing ABAP connection in Portal i am getting below error.

    Dear All,
    My error is rectified with below thread.
    SLDCHECK: Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMIT'...
    Hi,
    You need to create an RFC to the SLDCHECK:
    1. In your web browser, enter the URL of SAP NetWeaver Administrator using the following pattern:
    http://<host>:<port>/nwa
    2. Choose Configuration Management u2192 Infrastructure u2192 Jco RFC Provider.
    3. Choose Create.
    4. Enter the connection and transport parameters as required.
    Field
    Description
    Program ID
    We recommend that you use the following pattern: SLDAPI_<SAPSID>, where SAPSID is the system identifier of the AS Java system.
    Gateway host
    Gateway service
    If your AS Java is an add-on installation to an ABAP system, use the gateway of the ABAP system. You can look up the gateway parameters of an ABAP system using transaction SMGW.
    If your AS Java is a standalone installation, we recommend using a gateway on the Central Services Instance host. As of SAP NetWeaver 7.1, usage type AS Java that comprises SLD also contains an SAP RFC Gateway.
    Server Count (1..20)
    Enter 3.
    5. Choose Next.
    6. Enter logon data to the ABAP repository. You can either use an existing RFC destination from SAP NetWeaver Administrator u2192 Configuration Management u2192 Security u2192 Destinations or you specify the ABAP repository explicitly. The destination should point preferably to an AS ABAP close to SLD. If SLD is running on an AS Java standalone installation, the calling AS ABAP can be used instead. We recommend to create and use an RFC destination instead of explicitly specifying the connect parameters here. In both cases, the following parameters are required

    Description
    System Landscape Directory 15
    User Manual 03.04.2008

    Enter the logon data for the AS ABAP system. You must specify an existing user with appropriate authorizations for RFC.
    If you are running a system with both usage types AS ABAP and AS Java, use the logon data for this system.
    If your AS Java is a standalone installation, use the logon data for the calling ABAP system.
    7. Choose Next.
    8. Leave the default values in the next steps.
    9. Create the Jco RFC destination by choosing Finish.
    Result
    The Jco RFC destination creates a number of u201CServer Countu201D RFC server threads on your AS Java. These RFC servers register at the RFC Gateway specified. You may configure multiple ABAP systems to connect to these RFC servers. In this case, the Server Count should be increased when TIME_OUT exceptions are observed.
    Creating an RFC Destination for the SLD ABAP API on the AS ABAP Side
    Use
    If you want to configure an ABAP application to access data in the SLD through the SLD ABAP API, you have to create an RFC destination on the ABAP system side.
    Prerequisites
    An RFC destination for the SLD ABAP API is created on the AS Java side.
    Procedure
    1. Call transaction SM59.
    2. Select TCP/IP connections and choose Create.
    3. In the RFC Destination field, enter SAPSLDAPI.
    4. On the Technical Settings tab page, select the Registered Server Program indicator.
    5. In the Program ID field, enter the same program ID as the one you entered when you created an RFC destination for the SLD ABAP API on the AS Java side. We recommend that you use the following pattern: SLDAPI_<SAPSID>, where SAPSID is the system identifier of the AS Java system.
    6. Choose MDMP & Unicode and select the Unicode indicator.
    7. Choose Save.
    8. Test the RFC destination by choosing Connection Test.
    If the display shows the response times, you have configured the RFC destination correctly.

  • Connection refused to host: connection timed out

    I have been struggling with this problem a couple of days now so I really hope someone can help me. I am trying to get rmi to work in a NAT environment. We use a firewall, so I have opened port 1099 and 2020 which I use as a fixed port for communication (just to be sure it is not a firewall thing); I use the following code:
    //server
    public class ComputeEngine extends UnicastRemoteObject
    implements Compute
    public ComputeEngine() throws RemoteException {
    super();
    public String getMessage() {
    return "you have successfully connected to the server";
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    if (System.getSecurityManager() == null) {
    System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
    try {
    String port = args[0];
    try {
    RMISocketFactory.setSocketFactory(new FixedPortRMISocketFactory(Integer.parseInt(port)));
    } catch (IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    LocateRegistry.createRegistry( 1099 );
    catch (RemoteException e1) {
    e1.printStackTrace();
    String name = "rmi://localhost/Compute";
    try {
    Compute engine = new ComputeEngine();
    Naming.rebind(name, engine);
    System.out.println("ComputeEngine bound");
    while(true); //stay alive
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.err.println("ComputeEngine exception: " + e.getMessage());
    e.printStackTrace();
    public Socket createSocket(String host, int port)
    throws IOException {
    System.out.println("creating socket to host : " + host + " on port " + port);
    return new Socket(host, port);
    * Create a server socket on the specified port (port 0 indicates
    * an anonymous port) and writes out some debugging info
    * @param port the port number
    * @return the server socket on the specified port
    * @exception IOException if an I/O error occurs during server socket
    * creation
    * @since JDK1.1
    public ServerSocket createServerSocket(int port)
    throws IOException {
    port = (port == 0 ? portnumber : port);
    System.out.println("creating ServerSocket on port " + port);
    return new ServerSocket(port);
    //client
    public class ComputePi {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    if (System.getSecurityManager() == null) {
    System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
    try {
    String name = "rmi://" + args[0] + "/Compute";
    Compute comp = (Compute) Naming.lookup(name);
    System.out.println("connected to server");
    System.out.println(comp.getMessage());
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.err.println("ComputePi exception: " + e.getMessage());
    e.printStackTrace();
    I start the client with:
    java -Djava.security.policy=policy.all -jar client.jar 194.2.4.6:1099
    I start the server with:
    java -Djava.rmi.server.codebase="file:/C:\RMI\\server.jar" -Djava.rmi.server.hostname="194.2.4.6" -Djava.security.policy=policy.all -jar server.jar 2020
    As you can see I set the "-Djava.rmi.server.hostname" property which should be a solution to the NAT problem. However I keep getting the following exception!!??!!:
    ComputePi exception: Connection refused to host: 194.2.4.6; nested exception is:

    Yes, i can ping it from the client.
    I have also noticed that when i run my server with the option -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=IP the applications stops automatically after a few minuts...
    I'm not using nothing about codebase. I have the stub and skel classes in server and client machines..
    I add the complete exception:
