Error in text formatting

HI,
My system is upgraded from 4.6C to ECC 6.0.
When VA03 is executed, ie: Give SD no and press enter..system displays an error message (Error in text formatting).
Error in text formatting
Message no. VX201
Diagnosis
The SD_WORD_PROCESSING function module is for creating the "Maintain
    Text" dialog box. You have called up the function module with the wrong
    values so it is not possible to edit text properly.
System Response
Check the parameters for the SD_WORD_PROCESSING_PUT function module.
Procedure
Contact your SAP Support team.
The only diff i noticed in the function module is single field is added extra in the changing parameters FCT_XTHEAD
FCT_XVBUV .
Can any one help me out on this issue..

Text format error in ALV report

I am trying to download the ALV report output in to text format but the system is not downloaded the columns correctly. some of the columns are repeating and the alignment also not correct.

Local File->Spread sheet option.
And download to excel file.
Text file you can see format distorted, though it is not distorted.
Better use XLS format.
IF columns are repeating then the problem is with the Fieldcatalog.

I guess it is a normal format but my system seems to be unable to read binary plist ?
I tried some stuff with plutil

Same for convert

But now the problem is that the attatchment is in excel format.
But I want it in text format.

My problem is that I have a Unicode ECC 6.0 system.
I want to upload requests from 4.7 to ECC 6.0.But since 4.7 is Non-Unicode & ECC is Unicode ,I am unable to upload the requests(for screen layouts) to ECC.
I can upload reports by converting them to ASCII format,but the same is giving errors for requests.
Hence I want to know if there is some way of downloading requests in text format,so that I can get the same layouts in ECC 6.0.

Exporting crystal in text format

HI Experts,
I am trying last three days to export my crystal report in text file, using crystal report RPT i cant see the text file format. I can see the Rich text format but i want the report to export .txt format so user can view the report through notepad application.
I have tried using CRAXDRT.DLL to export the report in text fomat, i got suceed in the machine SAP is not installed but when i am trying to run the same program on the machine were SAP is installed it is giving me error "ActiveX component cannot create object" when i run the application through VB.
When i try running the code through .Net appliaction (C#/.Net) it gives me error "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Retrieving the com class factory for component with CLSID {-some ID--}" failed due to following error: 800736b1. I am not sure why it is not working i got totally lost... Can you please help to get out of this?
Can some one provide me the sample code to export the report in the text file.

Ensure same version of crystal report is installed in the target machine, if needed uninstall, test , and install again to detect the issue and update this thread.

Unable to add special characters such as # and ( in headers of Report in Text format

I am working on developing a report that will be exported to tab delimited text format from SSRS. The Report has been developed and it is getting exported to tab delimited text format. However, special characters in the heading are getting trimmed. I would
like to get these special characters in the heading of text file. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Per my understanding that you have add an extension which export the report as .txt format, now the issue is the special characters"#" not display after exportted, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue , this is by default, when you type some special characters "#" as the textbox name in the properties window or as calculatted field name you will get error pop up window,
if you type the text in the textbox as "#" it will also not display in the CSV or tab delimited text format report.
But we have some alternative method to make them display some way, more details information below for your reference:
Display "#" in the table header
If we want to make them display in the table header, we need to create an new table an put all the table header as one record in the table, because the value in the table can display "#" correctly：
I assumed you have four columns as the table header(Test1#,Test2#,Test3#,Test4#) please create an new table (HeaderTable )to store these value:
Create two dataset2:
Dataset1: display the record from step1
DataSet2：display the record of the report
Create two Tablixs as below and both remove the header column, Tablix1(Dataset1) diplay the value comes from the step1 as the new header column:
Tablix1(Dataset2):Report Data
In this way, when export to tab delimited txt, you will got the table header display correctly.
Display "#" in the textbox outisde of the tablix
If you just want to display "#" outside the tablix, you can just add an calculatted field(Test) and use expression like below to specify the value which you want to display in the calculatted field:
="test######test"
Then you can use below expression in the textbox:
=first(Fields!Test.Value, "DataSetName")

Preflight detected errors - overset text (1)

Hi
I have copied / pasted text from a Word document and tried 2 ways to place it in my InDesign CS6 document
(1) putting copied text into a prepared text box
(2) using the 'text box' that 'came with' the copied text (enlarged to fit area)
each time the dreaded 'red box with a + ' sign inside appears on the rt. side of the 'finalised' text
and 1 error shows at the bottom which is the Preflight detected error - overset text
I have loads of other text in my document but none copied/pasted
Writing the text manually into the document is not an option in this case
Do I have to format it somehow? I would really appreciate a really simple A-Z step answer for this old gal

Does the text contain special glyphs that require a font with Maori support? Id not then you can edit the styles to change the font (or, on the strong probability that the Word file doen't really use styles, you can use Find Font to replace it). if you do need Maori support, you should install a font that supports it, like Arial Maori, on the computer. ID uses any fonts installed normally for the OS (presuming they are not really badly made) or that are located in the private Adobe or InDesign fonts folders.

So I upgraded my VS2003 crystal version 10 C# code to VS2005 but the compiler gave me this error: 'CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType' does not contain a definition for 'Text' the ExportFormatType enum now only has NoFormat = 0, CrystalReport = 1, RichText = 2, WordForWindows = 3, Excel = 4, PortableDocFormat = 5, HTML32 = 6, HTML40 = 7, ExcelRecord = 8, How do I get the Text format back? Try deleting the .plists for Adobe Acobat.
Quit the application.
You need to look in your user Library/Preferences for the .plist. Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences. Move the .plist(s) to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your User library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I have to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

Default file associations and RTF (rich text format)

I use pop3 email accounts for work.
I receive daily emails with .rtf (rich text format) file attachments.
When I open the emails, the attachments are listed.
I touch to open and QuickOffice loads to open them.
According to the QuickOffice website, QuickOffice does not support rtf files.. and it certainly does error on them. Why does QuickOffice open at all? I do not need any of its functions except the one it doesn’t have.
I have installed at present, this list of file managers.
Android’s default file manager
OI File Manager
Astro file manager
Cool reader
All of these applications support rtf files.
How do I set the file association for rtf files to an application which supports them?

How to provide text formatting options to user from a text field

My requirement is - in the interactive form, a comments field needs to be provided where user should be able to enter text with formatting options like
Headers
indentations
bold/italic
bullet points and numbers
Once user enters the formatted texts in a text field, data needs to be displayed/printed in the same format. Could you help me on how to provide these formatting options to the user for a particular text field?
I understand that once I define the text field with format XHTML (with RTF), user formatting can be captured and displayed in the same way. But I am not sure on how to provide the formatting options for the text field.

Hi,
if you select a text field for Rich Text and the press Ctrl + E you'll get a bar for all available text formatting options in Acrobat/Reader.
